This is a hidden gem. The museum is much larger than I thought it would be and absolutely filled with treasures to learn and reflect upon. The planes out on the flight line are just the tip of the iceberg - and there are a lot of planes to comprehend. The ability to get so close to these massive machines is breathtaking. My favorite exhibit however is tucked in the back corner of the museum - the story of a WWII aviator in his own words by the letters he wrote home. The story starts at his recruitment in Buffalo NY to basic training to his death is the Pacific and to the recovery of his body. Powerful first hand understanding of the War experience. Look for it during your visit. You'll enjoy it too!

What an incredible experience. You don’t have to be aviation fan to enjoy this beautiful museum. Amazing technology created decades ago. You get to see the SR-71A Blackbird the worlds fastest aircraft up close. And the magnificent B-52 which is a monstrous aircraft. A very broad selection of fighter jets. There’s a lot to see at this museum so plan to take your time if you want to fully appreciate world class aviation.

The March Field Air Museum is a great air museum with a vast and interesting collection of aircraft and other items. Highly recommend visiting if in the area, and the numerous planes outside the museum are a great sight to see.

March Field Air Museum was absolutely fantastic. Generally admission is $15 but Veterans get a discount. They have a gorgeous SR-71 inside with the canopy open so you can get a look inside the cockpit. Totally awesome. The flight line outside has a wonderful collection of aircraft from many decades of service. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and a joy to talk with while visiting the museum.

I’m impressed with the amount of aircraft that are on display. The docents are so willing to share their knowledge and sometimes experience in the exhibition. I recommend you a lot time to see the vast amount of aircraft on display.

There is so much to see there. They also have lots of hands on stuff. You can even sit in some planes. I do recommend paying the small fee to take the tram tour outside also. Spent several hours there. Enjoyed every part of it.

Having been to a bunch of aviation museums, including Dayton AFB, the USS Intrepid, and the Smithsonian, I would put this up there as one of the best. They're very well stocked with tons of cool aircraft, and the staff is really enthusiastic. Plus they're right next to an active airfield with F-35, F-16, F-18, and Predators. I wish I had more time and will definitely be going back next time I'm in the area.

Totally blew away our expectations - we expected to spend an hour or two but after 5 hours they had to throw us out! So much fabulous history here with docents who are available and happy to share their experiences. You’re free to wander around the aircraft on static display out in the sunshine and climb inside the bomb bays and peer through the windshields. A 45-minute guided tram ride is available at several times during the day and is well worth the charge to hear stories and get an overview of the collection. Inside are exhibits covering the whole span of military aviation - don’t miss the gripping experience of entering a London tube bomb shelter from the Blitz of 1940, or the stories about the firebombing of Hamburg. We still had lots more to see at closing time!

Great air museum. They have a huge number of planes from different eras all the way back to WW 2. Some small and some huge. Please check their website for the extensive list. Also several interactive exhibits and so much history.

My brothers and I grew up around aircraft’s because of my dads love & passion for the aerospace industry. He passed during COVID, my older two boys were fairly young, my younger two never got to meet him. Whenever we get to go to air shows or museums, I get to talk about my memories as a kid with my dad, with my kids. It’s a special way for us to remember him and enjoy our family time together. We took our youngest son for a little photoshoot for his “Top One” first birthday. This museum is such a neat place for families! We ordered our tickets through Groupon. We got there earlier in the morning, the weather was good until it got later- hot! They have a little scavenger hunt for the kiddos, with a chance to earn a little prize at the end. The workers are welcoming, helpful. It’s a gem here in the Valley!

If you live in socal, you owe it to yourself to visit March Field Air Museum and learn some history about such an important location that's been the home to some of the most famous aircraft in history. To live so close to such a historic place, it'd be a disrespect to our veterans and currently serving men and women not to visit. One of the coolest museums that I've ever been to where you can be within breathing distance of some of these iconic aircrafts. Oh and before I forget, yes they have dessert and they serve that as soon as you walk in in the form of the SR-71 Blackbird and it is magnificent.

Outstanding museum, if you like airplanes or want to learn more. The mini bus ride around almost every plane is a must do (about 45 minutes). The military radio history is pretty good also. The people that work there are mostly volunteers and really enjoy what they do and are very knowledgeable. This place is a great tribute to those who served. Real glad we went.

March Field Air Museum was a fantastic surprise for me, as I just happened to be in the area for business. They have several dozen classic military aircraft on display, and many in the process of being restored - I actually got to see a technician working on an F-4 Phantom as well as an F-86. Any military aviation enthusiast will love this facility. It’s a little more rough around the edges than more major air museums, but I loved that about it. You can tell the museum is a passion project for those involved.

This museum excited my expectations. The exhibits inside the building were excellent. I did not know they had so much "Space" exhibits to view. (Amazing) Not to mention the SR71 on full display. (My personal favorite) I highly recommend this museum. Oh, i forgot the unbelievable amount of aircraft to see from WW2 to Vietnam days. Bonus, while we were there, we watched f15 fast and fly low along the runway. Very cool.

I love this place, I've been living in riverside for a little over a year now, I always pass by it on my way home from work. Finally went and man it exceeded my expectations, so much to see and learn, I loved the feeling of standing next to the huge airplanes and just imagine how the force of the plane must feel, or appreciation of human craftsmanship and see what we have accomplished. The people there are exceptionally nice too. Will be coming back more often now.

Stopped by the Museum on our way from Joshua tree to San Diego. My kids had a wonderful time doing a scavenger hunt for critters inside the museum/hangar. It was wonderful to see retired aircraft’s and learn about their history. Bring your kids along and have a blast…highly recommended!!

The workers are very nice, very friendly, professional and above all they answer all your questions about the place. In fact, I think most of them have been working there for a long time because they know a lot about it. There are two areas. The inside area is history and The outside area has all the airplanes you can imagine. I really loved the museum.

What's not to love? When you enter the museum, the first thing you see is an SR-71. Can't miss it because it occupies a large portion of the center of the museum/hangar. There is a portable staircase you can climb to get a view of both seats and console as well as a view of the aircraft from above. There is a winding staircase that goes to the top of the gift shop, from which you get an even better view. There are displays, recreations, and replicas, some with audio and/or video aspects, along every wall of the hangar. They are designed to give you a feel for what it was like to operate each system during its era. Take the time to stop at each one and appreciate the history they represent. You won't be sorry. When you're finished inside, head out to the flight line to view dozens of aircraft. Stand under the wings of a B-52, B-17, B-29, B-47, in front of basically any fighter from the Sabre onward, including rarities like the 104. There are tanker and transport aircraft, a recreation of a Vietnam-era bivouac, with aircraft (several varieties of helicopters) and vehicles, plus a Hercules rocket body to top things off. An added bonus was getting to watch touch-and-gos by military aircraft on the active strip (there is a small bleacher set along the fence line for that purpose), commercial aircraft, and a pair of F-16s taking off. It was like a mini-airshow. Fantastic time.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome! So glad I made the drive down here. Worth the traffic. Parking is easy and the museum has plenty of air conditioned indoor space. It can get very hot and, other than under wings, there is little shade in the outside areas. This whole facility is way more than I expected it to be. A huge selection of aircraft, vehicles, uniforms, and much more. Covers all the major conflicts, space, and civilian aviation. The inclusion of memorabilia from other nations is a really nice touch as well. On par with the Air Force museum in Dayton, OH.

We go to the museum often and just can't get enough. We we're at the Airshow hosted by the museum and was just awesome. Love aviation history seeing my Father ran the International Aerospace Hall of Fame and Aerospace museum for years. Very well put together and very impressive displays. Recommend highly. Casey

Absolutely fantastic spot! The exhibits are well-taken care of and there is something for everyone. I came for the Blackbird but very much enjoyed the London bomb shelter and portraits. The staff was anticipatory, suggesting the morning visitors start outside before it got too hot. The little concession in the gift shop was also great to have with snacks and cold drinks. I was here 11 years ago almost to the day, and I'll be back if I'm ever in the area again.

This place is huge and filled with so many planes and other historical pieces. They have also simulations so you can try flying a plane or how it would feel and sound if you were in London during the Blitz. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Recommend wearing comfortable shoes since enough will be walking a lot as well as sunblock because the other half of the museum is outside. I think we spent around 2-3 hours when we came. Another tip if you wish to donate to the museum they have containers where you can put in money. There's also a gift shop here where they sell items like shirts, patches and model kits.

This museum is fantastic if you ever wanted to see the Blackbird (The 'top secret' fastest plane in the world) up close and personal this is the place to go. I suggest you do not use the coupons mentioned on the first page. Check picture number two with the admission prices.

We planned a day with our two kiddos, 6 yr boy and 4yr old girl. Grandparents came and also my brother. Super cool and entertaining. Kiddos had fun doing the savagener hunt and getting a little toy at the end. Theres a couple of jets you can sit in and take a pictures. Layout is awesome and you learn a lot about the history. Then you can go outside and walk all around the different planes and jets or take a bus tour. Plus We ended up finding a groupon deal after the fact we were planning on going which was awesome.

I felt like a kid again, I was blown out and happy, when I saw the f-15 I was humming the top gun theme and then I search the soundtrack at my spotify, I enjoy it like a kid in Disneyland, the veteran at the reception is so kind and welcoming, I had to go again because I miss the helicopters and other areas

March Field Air Museum is one of the larger museums that I have visited. There are quite a few.modern warbirds. Sadly most are in terrible condition. The paint is peeling, wind screens are cloudy and many have flat tires. I would rather see preservative plastic on the glass than what I saw. When you can see the cockpits, they are in a decaying state. It would be wonderful if someone could clean up the interiors. Not a lot of prop driven planes, mostly jets. I did enjoy watching KC-135's doing touch and goes. Plus a pair of F-16s took off, that fun watching. March Air Museum is a great teaching location. Children will learn about military aviation throughout history.

Went sunday, around 1pm not crowded whatsoever. Enjoyed every part of experience. They do offer tour bus rides with AC, which i recommend if you have small kids. It was very hot out. If not take an umbrella for sun cover and some water.

This place is awesome. There's a little bit of everything to see here. From historical uniforms and patches, to gun turrets and canteens. They've got interactive displays, diaramas, even a gift shop full of interesting models and toys. They sell soda by the can and offer up information to those seeking knowledge. Not sure if they are the official info dept but they will get you pointed in the right direction. There's a tour bus apparently that'll take you around the various aircraft located outside although I haven't tried it personally so I can't really comment. I recommend checking out the K9 memorial while you are there. It's well worth the admission price. There's tons of parking. Tons! They keep decent hours of operation. The museum itself is clean and well lit. The staff seem pretty cool and are nice. Do yourself a favor and go.

March Field Air Museum is well worth a visit for anyone who enjoys aviation. A Wonderful display of aircraft from the Wright Brothers Flyer to modern day Drones. I especially enjoyed the Vietnam era Century Series Fighters and the MIG's they fought against in the skies of Southeast Asia. Have Fun!!!

A must see! Huge variety of military, war planes, helicopters, vehicles. Inside the museum holds a large collection of military memorabilia including medals, rockets, uniforms, additional planes, a NASA room, a bomb safe room simulation, and so much information. Going on a tour makes the museum experience even better. Either way it is worth the trip.

  • 5/5 Orlyn R. 1 year ago on Google
It was awesome for me. They have a sweet B-29 Superfortress with bombs in it even just like my father flew back in WWII. They have a SR-71 Raven in museum condition. That's a radical plane. Take your family and make a day of it and stop at Farmer Boys for some good burgers on your way home. My mother has a totally new appreciation for fighter jets.

  • 5/5 Zackary W. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to view some historical aircraft, mainly from WW1, WW2 and the Cold War. Lots of interactive activities inside the hangar, but the best part is all the planes on display. Also, the staff is very nice and helpful!

  • 5/5 Alexander V. 1 year ago on Google
From my point of view, this air museum is one of the best among similar establishments in Southern California. It has a vast collection of military aircraft, including WWII and decades of the Cold War. My favorite airplane at this museum is SR-71. It was a unique reconnaissance aircraft capable of cruising for hours three times faster than the speed of sound. It carried incredibly sofisticated photo cameras and various advanced sensors. Visitors can see this amazing airplane from a close distance and even take a look inside of its two cockpits. There is a nice gift shop inside the museum. The museum's personnel is very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have many volunteers who are happy to answer any questions. It's a really nice place for any aviation and history buff.

  • 5/5 Rick R. 2 years ago on Google
This is a surprisingly comprehensive air museum. The variety of aircraft here is remarkable, and includes many of the biggest names and heaviest hitters in the history of American military aviation. Beyond the aircraft themselves, there are dozens of thoughtfully curated displays and exhibits to make a well-rounded experience. And there's an SR-71! So go for the Blackbird, but stay for the B.U.F.F.

  • 5/5 Jerry Vergara J. 2 years ago on Google
This place is amazing! Friendly people, knowledgeable as well. I highly recommend the tour. The various amounts of planes/helicopters was through the roof. Even if you're not a huge fan of military aviation, you will still have a great time. Also, according to my wife. This place is haunted. It came out in the show ghost adventures. Just in case you're into that kind of stuff. I forgot to mention. The gift shop is great. I wanted to buy everything. My phone was dying and was only able to take two pictures, sorry. Entry is free for military members.
