Pretty good sandwich, but it becomes extremely soggy. It’s almost impossible to eat. The online ordering system is also a bit weird, and it takes quite a while to get your food.

I took my lady here because it's her " favorite" spot. She got her usual. I decided to go with a hot sandwich and chose the steak & cheese. I asked what came on it ( although it didn't sound like a cheese steak) I went with it anyway. I was very disappointed when I received a $10 sandwich that looked and tasted like something I could pickup at anytime from a 7-Eleven. Very small and not that appetizing!!!

Richard and the Sub crew always deliver tasty sub sandwiches. Personally, I recommend the unique Marinated Cucumbers and Cheese and their trademark Big Dude.

Pretty bomb sandwich. Soft airy bread. Thinly sliced meats packed with flavor. Love the little peppers added to the order. Dope sandwich.

My first time trying The Sub Station yesterday afternoon. It was a pleasant experience. I tried the Big dude sandwich with amaretto iced coffee and I took a meatball home for my dinner. Both sandwiches were pretty tasty. When I was there, I met the owner and he gave me a quick tour and history of the business. That was very kind of him. I'll definitely be back to try more subs

Ordered 4 cheese steaks for lunch pickup. Went got back to office to eat the bread was burnt to a crisp. Surely the person who put the order together should have a little more care than to serve and send? Last time we placed order… they forgot to pack the salads we ordered. Should have double checked!! Quality and service sucks!! Just not the same anymore

Nice old school sandwich shop, sandwich was pretty good. I did pay for double meat and it was lacking, but ok overall. Not mind blowing must go back, but good enough if I'm in the area. Patio area was nice

I’ve lived in the area for quite a bit now and have always heard about this place. Today we stopped in after we went to the Botanic Gardens. Let me tell you this place is delicious!!! And their employees are so friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back. Oh, and they give a kid plate too. Which my daughter loved!

First visit. Ordered “The Big Dude” cold sub online for pickup. I asked for a bread substitute wheat instead of the regular bread. Also paid extra for add-on avocado. Neither of these requests were made.

In a city filled with great sandwich shops - this one tops them all! We have moved out of the area but whenever we are in town they are my first stop. A warmed ham & cheese with avocado and extra yellow peppers on the side. The best!!

Best place to get lunch in all of Riverside. Free parking in the lot for all customers. Went with family today and tasted everyone's food. The Pastrami is great. We all LOVE the potato salad. I get the "Rich Wich" which is on toasted wheat sub, with marinated cucumber, melted swiss, and sooo much avocado. The Club Sub hit the spot, too. We also had the toasted Veggie and the pesto and roasted red peppers were delicious. They also have a party room that could seat big groups across the hall; that was a little quieter. Would totally be back with kids to sit there. If it was warmer we would've sat out on the patio - it's perfect for eating with a dog. Sub Station is a gem!! If you've never been, you MUST try it!

Amazing sandwiches. Love the Big Dude! Today I ordered the avocado sub and requested to add pickles. The service is great and always clean. I’ve been coming here for 25 years!

Best sandwich in Riverside. This sandwich shop is tucked away next to UCR. It's nostalgic and takes you back to days when you could ride in the back of a pick up and the nanny state didn't take away your plastic straws. Turkey sandwich is my fav.

Not what i remember about the flavor. I recently recommended the sub station to a friend. Will let people find their own spot from now on. Don't know what changed except the deliciousness is not there....

Classic Riverside place, where I learned was a sub was, still a mystery to me how this place did not become bigger than Subway. Sandwiches here are at a level that no chain sandwich shop comes remotely close too.

I've been coming here since my undergraduate days; the chicken pesto sandwich paired with their always new Iced Coffee is amazing

Great place to eat. You can watch a softball game from inside the restaurant or the patio. The sandwiches are served to you in a wrapper while unwrapped. It has a good variety and the service was friendly.

I have worked at UC Riverside for 22 years and the Sub Station is right next to it. So i have come to this shop many times. They have been in business for 50 years. The Substation is my favorite Sandwich Shop compared to other shops and chains. They have a variety of Sandwiches to choose from. All the sandwiches I have tryed are very good, but my favorite is the Big Dude. The atmosphere and staff are very welcoming and helpful. The place is very clean and relaxing. I took my family there a while ago and ever since then if sandwiches is choice for a meal that is our first choice to go to. I do recommend this place.

Been going here since my early days at UCR in 2007. Best sandwiches in town and arguably anywhere. Always a great experience with the friendly crew. Love the photos on the walls of events with previous employees, many of which I have fond memories. A++++.

My mom got her first sandwich here before I was born, and at 45 years old I still try and get here several times a year for their amazing sandwiches. Before there was a subway in Riverside, there was this amazing sandwich shop.

Always good! Great sandwiches! Love the oil and vinegar they put on the sandwiches, and the meat is 5 star! Keep up the great work!

Richard's been running this local soup and sandwich place for decades. Really good guy with high standards, very easygoing. His subs are always a big hit when we treat our students. The melted cheese and avocado is sooo good, my fave.

Very good subs. The big dude is the one to get if you haven’t been here before.
