Born and raised in Riverside but it was my first time visiting today. It was absolutely stunning and the docent was so knowledgeable and kind. Every single room was so beautifully decorated and the history was amazing. We were lucky enough to go for the special black veil presentation and it was amazing. My 8 year old daughter loved it as well. I only wish the attic was permitted because I would have loved to see it! Can’t wait to go back for the Christmas season. It was free to enter but it is encouraged to make a donation since they run completely from donations.

Took my Granddaughter with me and she loved it as much as I did. The tour guide was amazing, definitely a must see. A lot of great history learned.

Hidden Riverside history worth visiting. I will be back for the tour upstairs. Check out the stove with the oven ontop, upper left. I enjoy the ingenuity, thought, and craftsmanship that went into building the house.

Lovely but chilly day at the Heritage house in December2022. Mom, herself a historical guru loved it and we will be returning this weekend in May to visit with my sister and hope to see the upstairs as well. Volunteers were great! We made oranges with cloves and ribbons to hang decoratively on the tree.☺️I recommend this place for an afternoon of leisure and learning 😊.

If you are passing through Riverside, this is a must see! They give tours but, you don't need to schedule in advance, although if you're able to, it would be helpful. Everyone was so incredibly nice, and very informative. I will definitely be coming back!

Whether you've lived in Riverside for years or are just visiting, this is an interesting museum. Volunteers give guided tours throughout this beautiful historic home. You learn some history and see some beautiful architecture and art. The tour takes well over an hour and it's all walking and standing so probably not the best for children, unless they're really into history. There is also no elevator in the home so anyone in a wheelchair or who has trouble walking/for a long time would not be able to get to see the second floor.

Very nice place. I didn't do the tour inside the house, but walked around the outside while my family participated in the activities they were hosting. We sat in the shade for about an hour and it was very relaxing.

The Riverside Heritage House provides a beautiful glimpse of life during the Victorian era. It is impeccably maintained by volunteers, with great attention to detail. The grounds are lovely and the gift shop has many Victorian styled souvenirs. Our volunteer tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough in explaining the life of the woman who lived in the house, as well as the furnishings and the lifestyle at the time. It is free to take the tour but please donate to ensure that this jewel will continue to be available for generations.

They operate on donations here, it's well worth 5$. I only wish their website was better about providing info about their special events (fancy teas, etc). I can't wait to go again in October for their Victorian funeral wake event.

Riverside celebrates the Autumn Moon Festival annually at the Heritage House on Magnolia Avenue. It's an opportunity to showcase this Victorian home and property.
