Lyons Xsport really needs to be upgraded. Looks like this one was forgotten compare to other Xsport Gym locations. Water is leaking from the roof when raining, fans not working properly, sink faucets still not touch less, paper towel dispensers old without automatic sensors. Spa area needs to be cleaned especially personal infrared sauna. No changes. Getting worse by day. Tanning beds out for already 3weeks, air is muggy and stinks inside the gym lots of machines broken and not fixed more than 2 weeks already. Old machines still here since 2002. No improvements has been made. Music never playing here, more than half TVs not working. Update as of today 10/21/2022 All pictures taken today. Only one improvement was made instead of 1TV now 3TVs is working 🤣🤣🤣we still stuck in 1990 🤣🤣🤣

Management does a poor job keeping up with maintenance. 2 out of 4 bathroom stalls have been out of service for at least 1 month and half, the faucet has been been broken for a while too. There is a leak that hasn’t been fixed and many of the machines are missing the the numbers displaying how much you are lifting.

This place is disgusting. Paper towels everywhere, shower heads are broken off, fecal matter on the shower floor, the floors in the tanning bed area are black because no one mops them, the basketball courts nets are broken which are 4 dollars a piece to fix! The court itself is busted and never cleaned. Good luck finding matching free weights. People throw them everywhere. While staff sits in front and doesn’t do anything. The pool is loaded with chlorine and will burn your skin and eyes. The water is incredibly cloudy. Poor management. Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Most of the people that belong to this gym are scum bags.

Do you like Halloween? If you do, everyday is Halloween at XSport”fitness” in Lyons. It is a true haunted house of horrors complete with: green algae around the pool. Ghoulish locks of hair, used bandaids and razor’s floating in ALL the men’s showers backed up drains. Did I mention 2 out of 6 showers are always out of service? Access denied! Demon leaks and drippings flowing through the ceiling tiles 24/7. Do you want a large locker? Sorry! Those are all locked up for other members who pay the same as you. Management doesn’t cut locks off any more. Do you like being possessed by sickness? After 8 years of not being sick I contracted Covid 2X and MRSA once since becoming a member all in less than 5 months. The dark lord will visit you as soon as you sign your contract. Welcome to HELL!

The service has really declined at this location. I've been coming here for about about 3 years and it's gotten worse. There's never any weights. No one seems to care or ask people to put things back so that others can use them instead of circling around the gym trying to find equipment you'd like to use! Machines constantly out of order. I used to love it here, but now I'd even be willing to pay more to have more options somewhere else. Staff is nice, but everything else could use some work!

I had a problem specific with the branch at Lyons, IL. I need it help to start training. I went and talked to a really nice salesperson in this location, I told him I need to lose weight and had not workout in 5 years. His answer was "no problem, we have a professional team of trainers to help you reach your goals", so I bought 10 training sessions and since the first one I felt we had a problem. To start, the trainer never asked me or made a assessment about my fitness conditions, I told him I had pain on my shoulder, was recovering from a fall on March. Regardless, he was telling me to do this exercises, without a concrete plan or evident target on mind, no wonder I got hurt at the second session, took me 3 weeks to deal with the pain and recover to get back to the gym. I asked to get changed of trainer and they sent me to a young girl, nice but evidently just out of the training school I took one session whit her, then she quit her job. They assigned me a third trainer, nice young girl but she was unavailable for a second session, they wanted to send me to a different guy, by then I had enough, I wanted to cut my loses and get my money back for the rest of 6 sessions left. Turns out they told me that it's a NO... they called me twice trying to get me back to another trainer but I feel I'm wasting my time and money... and I don't like this!!! I get every person/case it's different , but if you are in need of help to get in shape, be careful what are you paying for at this location, be as specific as you can and be sure you ask questions and receive answers. Please fix the Men's steam room. It has been down now for two weeks straight. Update 1/21/23. Sanitation and cleanliness are definitely not a priority at this location.

The worst Xsports I ever been to the bathrooms are always dirty, there’s never any paper towels, poor management and employees, AND THE GYM IS ALWAYS PACKED which is not good during this difficult time. The Xsports in downtown are better don’t waste your time coming to the one in Lyons. This placed needs to be run better if not shutdown.

The staff is quite friendly. It would be awesome if XSport would open another gym in the area because during the day until about 11pm the gym is pretty full. Members tend to leave weights everywhere and not put them back😪. It's a pretty good gym 🏋🏻‍♀️

Masks are not required for employees or guests. Well from the looks of inside this place I don't think they are. Plenty of sanitary supply stations but I got more exercise looking for a station that had towels or a working spray bottle. People are also not wiping down their machines after use so please wipe before use for your own well being.

This gym is probably the worst example of your local neighborhood gym, there’s always machines that are out of order for several weeks if not months. Mens sauna is a joke always filled with trash that people leave behind and has been out of order for weeks. The basketball court is trash you would think they would polish the floor once a year but they don’t. Boaaaaa don’t get me started on the signal in there probably the only xsport with no WIFI!!!!

After the restrictions they're putting in place and cutting hours I can no longer come here. I joined a 24 hour gym so I can work out when I want and have time to. This really sucks I guess no place is going to open up normally like before until everyone is vaccinated.

Corporate does not answer calls nor reply to emails. The gym is hot and crowded and there is never enough paper towels, sanitation spray or hand sanitizer. The only thing good I can say is the workers are all friendly and try to be accommodating.

Most cardio machines and some weightlifting machines do not work, they have to change the manager or close the gym 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

To be objective I really do love this gym. It has great amenities. However, alot of the covid precautions are not upheld at night which is a cause for concern from upper management

The machines at this xSport location are in shambles. I’ve been coming here for 2 years and the equipment just keeps deteriorating. Seats and weight racks are snapped in half, most of the weight labels are gone, i can always get a full workout in, and the employees are friendly, but i Always have to adjust my plan a little due to equipment issues. I’m gonna switch to the xSport in Melrose.

I want to give a shout out and a 5-Star rating to Becky Jo, she is an amazing, fun, and inspirational instructor. Becky uplifts our spirits with words of encouragement, like “we are strong”, “we are powerful” and many more words of affirmation. Becky always welcomes us even if we run late or missed a class or two, never judging but always promoting other classes to make up for it. I’ve lost weight, feel stronger, healthier, and sexier all because of Becky whom motivates me to keep going. Becky…I appreciate you, you effected me in the most positive way. Thank you!

They are one of the best gyms around. From my experience you rarely have to wait for any equipment and they have everything. Decent lockers and big private showers. Worth every penny!

I had came a week before to see membership pricing. And wasn't aware of them signing me up for a 7 day pass. So when i arrived and tried redeeming the 7 day pass i had found online they told me i nolonger qualified. After me getting upset, the guy pulled the manager and he was able to get it for my mother and myself. We truly enjoyed the spa amenities & the pool. And there was plenty of machines. I also like the boxing area they have ! Pretty nice gym.

I used to love working out here, but now there’s at least 2-3 machines that don’t work and been on “fix” for months. There are groups of people who take over machines and the turf, making it uncomfortable for other member to be around or even use a machine since “they’re using it”. Really contemplating LA Fitness or Blink since xsports really can’t get a hold of themselves. There need to be rules to help the members use equipment without a group of 10-15 people act like they own every single thing at the gym. Thank you for the past 2 years xsports. My wife and I won’t need your bad service anymore.

Very very dirty gym. Bathrooms are in terrible condition, my music never plays and they don’t give their guests the WiFi. I took my boyfriend with me and after we left within an hour his eye was itchy and he had PINK EYE for 6 days. Staff at the front desk is rude and I never see anyone cleaning especially now with the virus situation going around. Paper towel dispensers are almost always empty

If your looking for a trainer: Patrice the trainer goes above and beyond to get you to reach your goals! I got massive gains within 1 month of training with him twice a week, Patrice makes sure you do the work while keeping you motivated all the way! I really appreciate his diligence in making sure I have proper form throughout the session and his consistent encouragement is AMAZING!! If you’re thinking about getting training sessions make sure you give Patrice a try, you won’t regret it!

Really diss-appointed and this is a long time coming. I've been a member since Lyons opened. They don't really care about the bball court and that is all I care about. I don't really work out there since I have a home gym, and usually I hear that is really packed or machines have issues. But back to basketball, there is always an issue with the rim being bent/broken or missing nets. It literally takes pleading, begging and constant asking to get anything done at this place. I've been meaning to send this to corporate, but perhaps social media awareness will help management get this place right. I only come because of the people I've known for all these years here. Wish they would appreciate the founding members of this place.

I joined XSport in December of last. Unfortunately shortly after I joined they implemented a mask mandate that if you were to work out in their facility you must wear a mask even if vaccinated. So do to this I never went in there. As I'm moving I decided to go in there to cancel it and they told me that to cancel its a $10 fee in which a manager can't even waive it. They told me it's a corporate thing I literally paid 9 months of service without visiting your property and you can't waive a $10 fee. Is XSport hurting for money or business? It sure seems that way with the recent reviews where others talk about the management not caring and not updating or fixing things. Managers should be able to make a call or decision to waive or refund something. It shows a growing problem in a business when they aren't able to.

Still waiting for the child care to open back up. Every month it's a different awnser ..... No staff to care for the kids , still under covid restriction , etc ..... Come on xsport !!! McDonald's play places are open , schools , no mask required......open...... all indoor play places open. Many loyal gym members are waiting for you guys to bring back the child care. Parents are important too! So please what ever the reason , give us back the opportunity to stay healthy for America's next generation! We're depending on you ! Great experience!!! Feel comfortable with my trainer Lucinda. She gradually goes through the workouts with me. Progress in every session to do better and better which is what I love. I previously had trainers that I honestly didn’t feel great with. Lucinda is the one to go to!

If your looking for a good old fashion clang and bang workout, no baby bs, this is a good place to go. Good amount of equipment, I’d say a few levels up from Planet fitness (I still go to mine) If you want a clean, downtown, expensive gym… then go downtown, this gym is def for gym rats!

Xsport Lyons has good equipment, has the space, and more than 95% is in working condition. The 1 star is due to the staff's action. This would go from the general manager down to the receptionist not being a brand ambassador. They are not the example, when they work out, they leave bars full of weights, don't wipe down equipment, and don't put stuff back. Bad example that most customers follow. They allow large groups to be trained, taking up mass amounts of equipment and bringing in speakers that blare the music that is difficult to draw out at times. Unfortunately, it's the closest gym to me with equipment for my type of lifting style. The district manager should be more present to review this location and make it better.

Representative Bryan was extremely rude and unprofessional to me and my friend when all we wanted to do was use the basketball courts told me I had to be a member when I had a free 7 day pass when it clearly says 7 day “membership” and then he made a fake phone call to come back and tell me the same thing, he then continued to just look at me and not say anything while I waited for response and then when I said it says membership on the pass he told me “everyone is entitled to their own opinion” instead of making a scene I polite said thank you and walked out. I don’t recommend this location to anyone. I hope Bryan fixes his attitude and this is brought to his attention

They haven't clean the carpet in who know how long, its has the humidity smells throughout. In the men dry sauna there was is a broken ceramic floor tile over a year, now there is like 3 broken tiles, its dangerous because we usually in bare foot in that area, ceramic tile edges are sharp and can cut your foot. Over all and over the years Xsport fitness have not keep up with their maintenance, the corporation have dropped the ball in most of their locations, nothing like when they started.

Great gym , friendly staff . I mean it's not what it use to be by far.. things are often broke but they do try to fix em right away . The staff is always nice , you can give that 5 stars..... I do miss the protein bar but it is what it is ...

My 5 star review is not because of the facility (I would give that 2 stars ) but, instead for trainer Luci. I had a free session with her last month and she made me feel comfortable the whole time and helped me a lot with my form. She was patient and helpful throughout as well as motivating while not overdoing it. Give her a raise 🥳🥳

I don't get why people hate on this gym so damn much. It's a much cleaner gym than people say, has a friendly community and staff, and has good gym equipment with good facilities. I think people just mad they can't get the tiktok steroid abuser physique only working out once a week.

Couldn’t use the 7 day guest pass because I had an account here 4 years ago, why can’t I see if they updated it before signing up for $45 a month plus the annual fee again? I asked if the dude could just let me in for the day at least, didn’t seem like he wanted to he said “ I could give you half off the day pass it’s usually $20 but I’ll give it to you for $10” only care about getting people to sign up and not the people themselves.

My 5 start review is on my trainer Luci. I’ve had training sessions with her and she has made me feel comfortable the whole time, has made training so much more interesting and has been helping me a with my form. She’s made me feel more comfortable with working in the gym on high peak times and has pushed me to keep going love her !! <3

The Lyons location is probably the worst I've been to. Even the express locations look better. Cracked tiles in the sauna room, moldy smell throughout the gym. Machines are always broken. No new equipment. It's awful and the owners should be embarrassed. I was going to the Addison location, however I had to move and have choice but to come to this dump.

Good place to workout!! Good lighting, very clean, a lot of equipment, and fairly high quality equipment! Saunas and basketball court available ( currently closed covid-19) nice locker rooms, friendly staff, sports playing on the TV's and I feel comfortable working out here!!

This place deserves more then 5 stars. The staff there are incredible, it's A VERY CLEAN place, and Jose is an AWESOME personal trainer. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Staff is cool; however, there’s one who works the desk that gives attitude. The trainers I’ve seen are knowledgeable and if they are unsure of something they get answers or find trainers to help (👍🏾) Workout/gym area is pretty clean. Patrons are not tidy though. paper towels or bottles would be left by equipment. Misuse of equipment make a few machines out of service. But they get repaired. Patrons rarely RERACK their weights- It’s annoying Not all patrons are like that though. There are some kind people there. Dedicated to their workouts and willing to help spot you or impart some gym knowledge.

I miss when they had the lighter weights. I asked about them one time, the guy said they were on backorder but that was months ago. I'm not sure if he was lying or not. Other than that, it's a pretty decent place to workout.

I love the gym in Xsport Fitness, Lyons IL. In general very nice machinery, training rooms, turf is nice for different workouts etc. but one thing I feel like their should be an improvement on is the basketball gym . I pay $35 a month and i play basketball for cardio and to go to the gym frequently and the floors always been undone and dusty/slippery, I feel it is a high risk to injury for members and it is unacceptable. The floors should be cleaned and waxed hard way more often to insure a lesser chance of injury and a better time to use the court . It is unsafe and lazy work. But besides that it is a good gym!

Why people not use face marks?

They don't practice social distance. People go around moving the "do not use" sign, people don't spray down the machine after use or use mask. Employees don't encourage people to follow protocols. Better off going to the Xsport in Brickyard.

Love going in the AM no one is there

I've been tanning at this location in Lyons for yrs n yrs now, the ppl that work there are friendly n willing 2 always help u out if need be, the beds r always clean n disinfected, plus they don't have an issue w me blasting my music lol which helps relax me while I'm tanning, I also used 2 work out there as well n have never had an issue, I'm so happy they reopened again!!!
