Overall this gym is convenient and of course it’s PF so it’s cheap but I can’t keep ignoring this particular location’s lack of cleaning standards. It’s evident that the bathrooms aren’t looked after and the toilets are hardly ever wiped down(disgusting). And literally every time I’ve gone in the past 3 months there is toilet paper everywhere in the ladies bathroom, and on the gym floor paper towel dispensers are always empty… I just want this location to step up their cleanliness again. This is an easy fix that management should get on top of asap.

This gym is in distress, poor, dirty conditions. Most machines are labeled " temporarily out of service" for several weeks. Even the power tower is wobbly as one of the legs are shorter than the rest. The staff is ignorant and rude, they are unable to say "hello". They just mean mug you at the entrance. The gym and specifically the bathrooms are filthy. The wifi moves as fast as dial up service. There is no water bottle fountain for fast fill ups. Gym equipment is very worn and torn up.

Check your bill you may have been charged during the pandemic or shortly before and they will not issue you a refund. I paid two months in advanced because they charged my card when they said they wouldn't and it caused and overdraft. Then they were closed because of the pandemic so I couldnt talk to anyone. I e-mailed a manager while they were closed and was told my refund could be processed once the club opened again. I went in to talk to manager today about the refund of my money and they said they dont do refunds. I decided not to continue with my membership. Never going to be a customer here again hope the 35 bucks was worth it. They said they werent going to charge customers for the time they were closed due to the pandemic yet I was charged and now its we dont do refunds. Shady business practices. I dont recommend this location. Other people have been charged as well when the company said they would not. Not everyone wants a credit. Some people just want the money they wasted on a closed gym back. Especially a closed gym that continued to charge fees.

I like everything about this gym except the showers and locker room. It is very evident that the showers haven’t been cleaned since I joined a few months ago—old hair clogs the drains along with debris that has been there for weeks. Apparently, I have to wait until black mold starts growing before they decide to clean shower curtains, and only the shower curtains. I’ve heard the men’s locker room is completely disgusting from my husband’s accounts. We have raised this with the staff several times and nothing has been done. I realize this is a cheap gym, but that shouldn’t mean bathing in unclean conditions. I really expected better when I joined.

I usually love PF but the front desk staff at this specific location are rude, immature, and utterly abusive toward gym members. I wish I was joking, but this morning a front desk employee (young woman, long dyed, red hair, face tattoo) called my Black partner a racial slur under her breath as we checked into the gym. I was speechless and didn’t know what to say. I will be filing a complaint with the manager Dylan as well as corporate and we will not be using this location anymore. Frankly I hope the young woman is fired from the gym entirely. Another time, a MALE employee followed my partner into the FEMALE locker room at 1am and shouted at her. Just insane. I love Chicago for how accepting its people are and it’s so deeply disappointing to see my partner treated that way. I don’t recommend using this particular location if you are a mixed race couple or a Black woman, period. I will be telling my friends and family who use PF to consider pulling their memberships entirely as well. Love PF but this location has some serious staff attitude issues. So disappointing.

I would go in the morning and the two gentlemen would be cleaning all the time so the gym is cleaner than most. There is only one pec fly machine, 4 smith machines and no single use double pulley tower so people will take both to do chest and people hang out on the Smith machines so just beware. Otherwise, a fine gym.

i walked up to the counter and jazmine and her coworker were just talking. once they finally finished their inappropriate conversation she rudely began to “try” to assist me. after making it obvious i was a bother i just decided to leave. definitely wont be returning to this location.

First time going to PF since my foot surgery in December as well as since COVID started in March. I've been reluctant to going but finally braved it. The time of day that I went (morning) was good. The amount of people that were inside was decent (I guess) I think there was maybe 10-15 people (didn't really do a headcount) but there wasn't a lot of people there. The machines were nicely spaced out. I was especially happy when they had the sanitizing spray bottles for each member to bring with them during their workouts. What I am disappointed in is that there was absolutely NO temperature check when walking through the door or at check in. Gotta do better with that. There's a lot of people that will workout even with a low-grade fever.

We getzzzzzz it in......This is our place to unwind, work off stress, and get our workout on...... for our workout.....Yah dig....

The management has bad customer service

Pros: +Great spacious gym. +minimally or moderately busy. +Generally clean. +lots of parking +foam soap in some showers +has great rowing machines +friendly staff Cons: - A couple of machines need maintenance (on adjustment knobs). - shower and sink drains emit a horrible smell. - locker rooms could be revamped and include a scale - no trash bins in women’s changing room

I like this location. Lots of different machine. Dont come between 5-730pm cause u will be mad lol to many people using all the machines. But get in get your workout in and go! Definitely helps me loose some of this quarantine weight!!

Switched over from another Planet Fitness for convenience. Was not happy about outdated equipment but recently they have upgraded. More weight sets, more benches and more towers! Been great so far, would reccommend it. Staff is great.

Gym is very clean and the staff are constantly cleaning up especially during covid. All members get their own disinfectant spray bottle as they walk in. I been to other gyms like xsport and i was surprised that I did not see 1 water bottle for anyone to use to spray down equipment nor were there any paper towels available for members to wipe down after use of equipment.

I love this gym but as a simple card member I think it's totally unfair that it's not 24hours and that I can't go to other gyms because I have a simple card! So why is this gym not 24hrs like all the others.! I pay for a inscription which I get cut off days ! Very unfair.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I went around 5pm and it wasn't overly crowded. Even though I'm a newbie, I was warmly welcomed and felt right at home. I'm excited to get started on my fitness journey!

Love this gym overall! The gym is always clean no matter what time of day I went. Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership because I was severely allergic to the cleaning sprays they use and kept breaking out in rashes, which is a bummer because they just got some new equipment. The hydromassage was 10/10 too.

I love this place the staff are friendly, atmosphere is great and clean. The only thing is they are always packed, so it’s being pretty hard in the last month to use my membership like I wish to… It be wall to wall packed lately ( I guessing because of the free membership situation that they partner with schools)🤷🏽‍♀️but it’s not good and disappointing…

They are all friendly and welcoming and willing to help if I ever get stuck in a work out. I highly recommend this gym for any newcomers or elite people committed to their fitness goals.

Membership cancelled by Forest Park Planet Fitness for the 'crime' of getting water So I am a van-lifer whose PF black-card membership was cancelled today for breaking club rules. Care to know my crime? I fill a three gallon jug with water when I go there to workout. I confirmed I was not breaking any rules; they confirmed I was not breaking any rules because the only rule they showed me is their right to change the rules as they see fit. It was a black card membership. Only one other Planet Fitness had an issue and we talked it over and left it at it not being a problem so long as I was not getting in the way of others. At this same Forest Park IL PF I had to stop doing 30 minute workouts because so many people use the space for their regular workout that most times it's impossible to get the full workout done. There is a posted rule about this room, and when I approached the staff and the manager about this they say they will not do nothing more than post signs. Even when I asked a staff member to ask the people to vacate the room, he came and looked and said it was just a few people and did nothing. Yet my membership was terminated for filling up a three-gallon jug with free water. I was not violating any rules and adequate hydration is part of staying fit. I fill up at other PF, stores, gas stations etc, people are accommodating to giving access to free water. Is is the Forest Park PF so 'uppity' that a member cannot fill a three gallon bottle? wow. I am hoping this post will reach the owner and hopefully result in things being set right. I am asking the owner to view the cameras to see what was really happening, because when I pressed them about the issue staff was accusing me of blocking the path, stopping others from getting water, creating an unsafe situation by spilling water and none of that is true. Their made-up verbal accusation again showed there was no true grounds for their actions. When I wrote a letter asking staff to stop harassing me over this and put all further complaints against me in writing I had my Black Card membership cancelled without any explanation - proof again that there was no valid reason for their actions. I will keep posting hoping that the owner of this PF and the owners of the PF franchise will set this wrong right; this is a stupid issue to have to take legal action on

Best gym I've ever gone to.. Great classes and very friendly atmosphere. The equipment here are great and updated. The staff here is really knowledgeable and helping.

Someone cut locks off in the men’s locker room on a Sunday. Nothing was stolen but I imagine the person took pictures of credit cards and I.D. After being a member there for 6 years, you would think management would at least call and say “we are aware of what happened Sunday and will tell staff to be more vigilant in the locker rooms, ” or something.

First time here-man at front desk was very welcoming, gave me a short tour. Lots of equipment and spacious. Cleanliness was tidy. Also first PF that actually has more than 3 smith machines 👏🏼

Good place to work out

Saturday is a amazing day to be in the gym. It's so easy to get in and out!!! No to packed. Plenty of machines to use and get a real good sweat done!!! Actually I think I over did it today lol but no pain no gain right!!! Staff is amazing and very friend and I love how they spray down the machines!! Makes me feel very comfortable and safe working out!!

Instructors for the various classes are all professionals. They also have many cardio machines available. I was satisfied with my experience here. I highly recommend

Sufficient amount of fairly up to date cardio equipment but needs a remodeling of the area for weight machines. One can get a decent leg pump but not great space or inventory for chest/back exercises. The locker room is fairly clean but a lot of the lockers are broken. The channels on the tv are set to odd stations, a minor grievance but I would prefer just to see sports and news. The monthly rate is cheap so you get what you pay for but if you're willing to spend more there are better options.

Planet Fitness creates the absolute best atmosphere for benners like me really would rather not work out, but know they must. There is something about the culture and environment that puts me at ease and it is quickly becoming my go to, to better care for myself in my advancing years. I enjoy a warm environment and challenging myself at my own pace.

I wanted to 🏋️‍♀️ with my Brother and he only had a FOID card and he was denied entry this really killed my plans to workout

even members at the club share the same safety concern during this time of covid. if a member is not wearing a mask while passing through the club, and not working out at a station, it gets voiced to staff.

Staff super friendly and helpful, but there's a lot of people that don't wear a mask.

Great gym to workout in. They've taken steps to increase safety and minimize risk during the pandemic. There's plenty of equipment to use. The staff is friendly and helpful. I typically go early in the morning and it's not crowded at all.

The gym was very clean and social distancing policies were put into place and being followed.

This is an oasis, I love everything about it. You don’t feel judged to be there, staff are nice, clean bathrooms and showers and amenities are great. Love the track and the basketball court.

I am a long distance runner therefore I spend a lot of time on the treadmill. Unlike other gyms there is never wait. Efficient Air flow inside makes a huge difference in my energy levels during and after exercise.
