Great atmosphere and attention. It’s a hidden original jungle-ish decorated place. The cocktails were so nice to start the night. We had so much fun trying everything here! The staff is very nice, they recommended us very rich drinks. I’ll def go back! 🧡

Quite possibly my favourite bar in Sydney. Everything about this place makes you just want to relax and have a good time. The bartenders are always attentive and down for a chat but also aren’t over the top. Drinks are simply sensational. Divine intervention has been a long time favourite. Queen of cups is a must order. 10/10 recommend this spot.

Little hidden bar in Sydney that we stumbled upon during our holiday. The vibe of this place is really chill, dark but packed with atmosphere. I was looking around and noticed everyone was living in the moment, with barely anyone on their phones and just talking and laughing with the people they were with. It was really nice to see. The cocktail menu has many options to choose from. For the first round, I ordered Sloe News Day, while my cousin ordered Extra Extra! Both were nice, but the winner was Extra Extra complete with a smoke bubble. For second round I ordered Total Eclipse and my cousin ordered the Zombie. The Zombie cocktail was lit up with fire - pretty cool. Cocktails are on average about $20 each. The staff were also lovely! They kept checking in on us and you could tell they enjoy working here. Overall, it was a great time at Papa Gede’s.

My hands down favourite bar in Sydney. The staff are super attentive and friendly, and they can easily explain how every drink is going to taste and help you decide which one to go for. I loved their menu for the past couple of years, and I’m extremely eager to try out the new menu! They go beyond the regular pretentious cocktails and make sure their customers have a lot of fun with their drinks. The vibes are perfect!

Alcoholic ailments infused by witch doctor practices, Papa Gede's enchants you to let the 'spirits' guide you on your cocktail pilgrimage. Hence the voodoo inspirations, this is an upbeat cbd cocktail bar offering both classics tiki drinks, wines and craft beers. I ordered the Zombie as it comes with a little fire show, the bar staff were fun and energetic. Follow your senses and resurrect your night with funk and soul.

We accidentally entered this bar. We love the atmosphere here. The interior decorations is cozy. However The cocktail here is not our type. And the snack selection is very limited. What annoyed us most is that some boring old man kept bothering us in this bar. They are guests as well so it is not the problem with the bar. But this really leaves us bad impression here.

This is by far the best bar in Sydney we always have the BEST night here!!! Jono (JESUS) and BRAD BRAD BRAD BRAD were the most awesome hosts and just such legends. The cocktails are fun to drink and delicious and the vibe is just always 10/10. The service here and the fun staff are the main reason we always come back we couldn’t recommend this place more !!

Always a killa time whenever I'm here. Staff is so friendly, that you forget about all your stresses. Truly a paradise with cocktails. It's quite easy to find as well and it's like the light out of the tunnel to cocktail paradise. Drinks actually TASTE MAD!!! My favourite is The Zombie. I've had Buried Alive, Gunpowder and the Coup and they were all amazing. Quite possibly my favourite bar in Sydney! Oh, and sometimes, THERE'S A CUTE DOG!!! My dog passed away a year ago and it was so joyous to play with a dog again!!!

What a cocktail bar! Booked a party of 10 for my wife’s birthday and we was all so well looked after from the moment we went in. Between us I think we went through the cocktail menu. My favourite was buried alive 2.0, to be honest every cocktail I had was epic! Great decor and and great selection of drinks. The bar staff were legends and were very attentive, I wish I could remember their names but the alcohol had took hold🤣 Will definitely be back soon! One of the coolest bars I’ve ever been too

Lovely ambience, friendly bartenders and fun designs. I tried absinthe for my first time - Berthe De Joux was really easy to drink. I didn’t need to dilute it with sugar and water. The Cuban nuts are alright, and we also got some olives. My hubby also tried the special Negori with aged mezcal and smoked pineapple - couldn’t taste much pineapple. The milo high - was Low on milo, and high on horchata. Fun place. Would be back again! Only realized upon paying that the discount on absinthe means we have to pay before 6pm.

Distinctive cosy hidden bar in Kent St which you can enjoy many types of great cocktails. Their cocktail menu is decent and can easily find your favourite drinks as they offer any types of spirit such as Whiskey, Rum, Vodka and Gin based cocktail which can simply fulfil any tastes. Surprisingly nowadays, you can hardly find pubs that offer Absinthes drink, however I think they had 12 different types of them which really impressed me. My most favourite drinks were Gun powder hig and Khaleesi’s coup and from Absinthes Collection, I really enjoyed La fee bohemian And Berthe de joux. Thank you Team for being friendly and providing a great service. Highly recommended.

Very nice, friendly, fun, cool interior, good and interesting varieties of drinks. But if you are after a proper dinner, this place is not for that.😉 It is small, but we liked that, the cosynest ... home like feeling..😁 Enjoyed music aswell, it was flowing, just grooving with it 🙃. We accidentally stumbled across this fun little gem and am so glad we did! Beautifuly decorated cocktail bar with an extensive list of experimental drinks with new ingredients I was not familiar with. The ambiance was exciting and the staff welcoming, would highly recommend.

Seriously one of the best bars in Sydney. Hidden behind a cobblestone alleyway, this voodoo theme bar has got to be my all time favourite. I keep coming back here. The cocktails are delicious, some are theatric, and honestly just the bomb.com They also have a great absinthe selection for those who want to go all out! I’d give this place 6 stars if I could.

I would say this is a must visit bar in Sydney. We were so glad we stumbled across it. The atmosphere is atmospheric, dark and moody. The choice of cocktails was ample with stuff I have never seen before and tantalised my taste buds. We will be coming back before we leave to sample the absinthe but will make sure we have no other plans for the day. Please go here and open your mind to new flavour combinations.

It’s been 7 years since Baron Samedi’s spooky spectre gleefully grinned at me as I imbibed Papa Gedes potions; and his apparition has been haunting my dreams ever since. The menu has changed, but the ambience is still the same. Zombie’s used to finish the evening, now they begin it. I dodged the walking dead and went straight for :: The Second Coming :: Spiced and Gold rum co-mingling with a red wine reduction all froth and bubble with lemon and egg whites. I’m glad to see Papa’s survived the pandemic; See you again in se7en Samedi!

I recently went to this bar for the first time with some friends. I have never wanted to write a positive review so badly before for a venue like this. My experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff working that night were so amazing! We were constantly catered for, given all the information we needed and more and really had a great time. The bar itself has such an awesome aesthetic and gave the night such a cool atmosphere. The menu itself was so creative which made picking out the drinks so much more fun. Not only that, but the drinks themselves were phenomenal. They were so creative and delicious and was the cherry on top of our experience. Huge shoutout to all the wonderful staff who looked out for us :)

Best bartenders in the industry. Greatest vibes you could ever experience. Anthony mixed the greatest concoctions for me, with skills and mastery. I would recommend choosing this place over any other! I have been here many time and I have never been disappointed. The service, the drinks, the vibe and music are absolutely perfect. Nice little bar with a unique offering of (very) strong cocktails and absinthe. Definitely a unique experience. The ‘Zombie’ was excellent! I would’ve given 5 stars but the staff there weren’t overly friendly. Kept asking for water only to be served tiny whisky bottles of water for our group of 7 and then the bar tended seemed to get annoyed that we used the water from the absinthe tower to drink because it was also for “other people”… I could be wrong but as far as I’m aware, it’s water and ice.

Very chilled bar with excellent customer service. This is a must visit whenever you're in the city. Devils Letters and Mental Clarity are my picks of the cocktails. Gets pretty full and would recommend getting there early or late.

Absolutely amazing. I am a regular at this place and consistently the drinks are delicious, the food is great, the staff (especially Jess and Ollie) are really amazing and absolutely lovely people. I've visited several times after a friend recommended this bar, naming it his favourite bar in Sydney. It's an intimate, inviting space with bar and table seating to choose from, mood lighting, and welcoming bar staff who provide table service and excellent recommendations. The menus are illustrated and have a gothic story to them, which is fun to read. The drinks are top notch and testament to the skills and creativity of staff. All this and a welcome absence of pretension to this inner city bar make it one of my favorites too.

Stopped in here waiting for friends to finish up at a Christmas party. We were told to have a seat and was served very quickly. The cocktails were delicious and with a twist and service with a smile. Only stopped in quickly, so will have to pop back to try more cocktails

Went in here on Saturday and we loved it!! The bar is so cool inside and the cocktails were sooo good!! Staff also so friendly! One thing i would say is its very hard to find, and a sign pointing in the alley would be very helpful

These guys nail it. This place is best enjoyed in smaller groups of say 2-4 people - especially on a Friday/Saturday night, but we went down with 6 of us on a Thursday night and the guys managed to squeeze us in at the bar. Great service and conversation with the guys behind the bar. The location, decor/fitout make this a pretty cool spot too. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon.

We had an awesome farewell drinks for a colleague at this cool bar last night. Service was super friendly, a huge range of cocktails at decent prices considering the quality of them. The bar manager even joined us for a chat - what a gentleman and scholar! Highly recommend and will be back

Amazing staff. Hidden cool location. They have great cocktails apparently but a limited beer collection(no tap only bottle). Decent finger food. I would go back just cos the vibe is friendly and it's sort of tucked away in the middle of the city.
