Owner was very friendly and allowed my son to rant on about fish that he is obsessed with. They have everything you could possibly need for your fish needs. Location is sneaky since it's sign isn't that noticeable from the street. Overall great place and competitively priced fish!

Dan, Is a nice guy and his shop has the cleanest tanks out of any fish store I’ve seen locally. He’s has a nice selection of fish, and they are healthy. After being extremely disappointed by the cleanliness and tanks conditions of Father Fish in Venice. It was refreshing to stumble on to Wet Pets. This the best local fresh water fish store in Sarasota county.

This is the best spot in Sarasota for all of your aquatic needs. Danny, the owner, has extensive knowledge of any and all aquatic species and is truly passionate about his craft. My son watched a YouTube video when he was four years old and Wet Pets was involved in the video. My son said we need to go there. He is now nine and I can say with confidence that Danny is one of the contributing factors to my son's passion and knowledge for aquatics. Thank you for everything, you will see us soon I'm sure! When large stores fail you Danny will be there to save you. Danny is amazing and takes the time to explain things regardless of the size of your habitat. He is thorough and really takes care of his people. Wish I would have found wet pets before my first attempt.

The vast majority of my fish are bought here... Danny is a good guy and WILL NOT rip you off...!!! His prices are more 'blue collar' than Sarasota's other non-box store... He will order what you want, if & when possible, if he doesn't have it... If you're a fish nerd, check it out...!

I can’t recommend Wet Pets enough. Danny is amazing! He always takes the time to guide you through your purchases, offer advice, and is always available to answer questions. I’ve called him from home for advice for a malfunctioning filter and he stepped me through the fix. His fish are healthy and reasonably priced. I’ve been a customer for 4 years and would not even consider risking buying elsewhere.

Knowledgeable and friendly owner with a large stock and very competitive prices. All the fish we've seen there look happy and healthy, and the owner helped us pick out two lovely large pieces of Mopani wood. He went above and beyond by giving us care instructions on how to prepare it to keep the excess tannins from turning our water tea-colored. We will absolutely be back for more aquarium pieces!!
