Awesome bar with great beer selection and better food. Dave will get you where you need to be with excellent shuttle service. Laundry was a welcome plus. Hope to be back soon.

Such a fun venue for drinks, dancing, and live music! They had karaoke, pool, and games for the tables. So much fun! They are even a hostel for thru hikers of the AT.

Five stars is not enough. These people know what it takes to run a quality hostel/pub. I just rolled in off of a very hard (but beautiful!) 50 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Dave the owner and the bartender Crazy Wolf had a water, beer, and the best fries I've had in 400 mi, in front of me before I even had my backpack off. The hostel is clean, well provisioned, and has a good mixture of open as well as private, lockable spaces that will make any breed of hiker feel at home and safe.

Let’s start with the beer selection - epic. We live local & after a spring/summer/fall day of hiking, this place is a must - ultimate kick back and get your grub on. In the winter it’s a cozy spot to grab some grub munchies on the way to or from the ski resorts & again the epic beer selection. I recommend Dave’s Special sandwich, the mac & cheese is great too. Fun place to do karaoke as well, it’s a real little treasure spot up on the Roan.

Hippest hostel on the AT and a great neighborhood bar. Perfect to hit up after a day on the trail or slopes. Service and food are great, beverage selection is amazing. We visit every time we are in the area and always bring our friends and family (6x per year).

Updated hours: open 7 days a week: Sun+Mon 12-8pm Tue+Wed+Thu 12-9pm Fri 12-11pm Sat 12-10pm (concert nights till 11pm) Their Reuben's are fan-freakin'tastic! I know I should surprise myself and order something else whenever I head over as they have an incredible selection on their menu... but getting a PERFECT Reuben is such a delight! Yum! πŸ˜‹ They also have yummy daily specials, very inexpensive!

Hot showers, free laundry, and great conversation with Bruce, the master chef. Not to mention all the craft beer you could ever want. Got my resupply and I'm happy. The Station is a must stop for the thru hiker!

If you're in the area stop in and visit The station. The food here is spectacular and the portions are huge. The staff are friendly, helpful, and a joy to visit with, especially Dave and Crazy wolf. Hiker hostel located above the pub has all you need to enjoy some time off trail. Shuttles and slack packing options available at great rates. There is a good resupply with reasonable prices. The breakfast will remind you of home. If you're fortunate enough stop in on Fridays for the karaoke experience.

It's a medicine guys! it's legal/decriminalized in 30 states. Get over yourselves and let people use the medication they need to be happy. The signs you have posted around are ridiculous.

This place is so incredible! I’ve never experienced a more comfortable place. Incredible food but even more incredible locals I met there. I will be going back the very first chance I get! I can’t say enough about this awesome place!

Really cool to see so many beers but not enough on tap in my opinion. It's a novelty to have the 200+ beers in cans and bottles. The chicken parm and turkey reuben were delicious. Chicken tenders felt generic and overpriced. Fries were well portioned.

Great place! Great food! 300+ craft beers to choose from!!! We had the Reuben and the Fish & Chips. After a couple of top notch craft brews, I had a John Smith's Taddy Porter from Tadcaster England. Hadn't found one of those in years! Staff is so friendly. Highly recommend.

First visit won't be the last. Depending on how bust they are its counter service but everything is close so you don't feel like you're "working". The owner guys are super nice and accommodating. The music venue is in the back but doest overwhelm the front area. We'll definitely go back to take in some tunes or just chill in the front. Only complaint I had was the high top stools weren't very comfortable but I'm a big dude. The brat and the club were both amazing. Would love to see wings offered. Tap selection was solid and the bottle / can assortment is simply insane!

I really want to like this place. I've been here a few times. The staff are really nice. It has a homey feel. It's not trying to be something it's not. It's a rustic hiker hostel with bar food and good beer selection. If I was on the trail for weeks at a time this place would be a godsend. I visited this place as a local. I brought my dogs and was told they were welcome on the patio. While I was there, I encountered someone else who had a dog inside the tavern where food was being prepared and served. This took me by surprise because it's against health code. We also had one of the staff inform us that the house next to the tavern had a dog that was loose and "not friendly". Not sure if that house is part of the business or not. But anyone with dogs should beware that this could be an unsafe place for your dog. If you're a hiker, you'll find warm food, cold beer, and a place to sleep. If you're a local or tourist looking for good food and atmosphere, there's a number of other places nearby that would be less "rustic" and more inviting for dogs and family.

Came to check out a bit of Appalachian trail legend... I was not disappointed! The Ruben was amazing! The marbled rye bread just says everything about the quality of this dish! Top notch-100% and as I need the extra calories, I had to have that hiker classic, Mac and Cheese under a pile of garlic Parm chicken.... And I do mean GARLIC! Very professional and polite staff. I was blessed to finish just as a music jam started... I sat in awe for 2 hours as 13 musicians playing guitars, mandolins, bass, fiddle, and harmonicas played songs old and new, national and personal written lyrics. If you ever visit on a jam fest, sit and be blessed by the music, leave the rush and Bussel behind. The Station lives up to it reputation as being a music loving chill spot.

This brew pub is a friendly, eclectic, fun place to kick back and have one (or several) of over 300 beers. It's also got a hostel for travelers. It's nestled in the Tennessee mountains near NC. We hung out outside and were entertained by a big beautiful dog and charming scenery. The people who worked there were super nice. We spent a long time hanging out there. My friends really enjoyed the German beer on tap and I enjoyed excellent cider. Would definitely love to come back!

Stopped in here tonight to pick my husband up from an AT section hike. First off, my nose says thank you for letting my husband shower and wear some loaner clothes until I arrived with his clean clothes. We both had dinner and drinks, and everything was yummy. Service was wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality! I was not looking forward to a long car ride with my smelly hiker, but y'all saved the day.

The shuttle service is managed really well. The bunkhouse was clean and nice when I stayed a few years ago. The bar has one of the best beer selections you'll ever see! And the food menu is perfect after a long hike. Hikers can resupply here and late night they have live music! A fun laid back spot all around.

Come here, drink the beer, stick the food in your face, and enjoy. You won’t regret it. It’s a special place that feels good.

Stopped here and had great food and service! Can't argue with the beer selection or the accommodating proprietors who made us and our 3 kids feel right at home. It's funky, cool and well worth a jaunt (even out of the way) if you get the opportunity!

Food was great. Owners are awesome. Music on saturday was a great addition. One of the best impromptu stops we have made. Did not have the chance to stay there this time. Will definitely make a trip back.

The owners of this hostel and bar are kind and will go the extra mile for their guests. They shuttled us out and we ran into a few snags on our weekend backpacking trip, and they were able to squeeze in a shuttle to get us at the very last minute. Delicious Ruben sandwich and a few great local beers. Rooms (both shared ones and private) looked nice too

A county gem and Hostel. Momma Molasses was live on her guitar. Hikers staying joined the small but fun crowd. First kitchen I've ever seen with only men doing the cooking and dishes. Try a Kraft brew on tap or can.

Do not skip this location on your thru-hike....or if you're just passing by on Highway 19. Very attentive staff and good food. After breakfast when I started down toward the trail by foot, the owner (I think) called me back so he could shuttle me back to the trailhead. Nice touch. -Radar

Oh yeah!! Great place to stay overnight. Absolutely can't beat the price! All great things to say about this spot, if you've ever done hostels abroad this here's done right with Tennessee hospitality to spare (it's right on the border) :) Cozy. If planning ahead, a recommendation is to both bring your own comforter and earplugs/headphones for extra. It was really peaceful when I stayed, and that was on a Friday night. :)

Wonderful place! Has awesome food too! The owner, Dave, is very welcoming. We usually stay at a motorcycle campground near by, and they offer to pick people up, after a long day of riding it’s nice to be picked up. Its also nice to be able to have a few beers and not worry about about driving. We go every time we’re in the area!

A group of us stopped by here on motorcycles. The food was amazing! We had the signature Rueben’s they were fantastic! The fries ( potato wedges wedges) were to die for and the Mac and cheese with the chicken tenders, was beyond a hit. Cold beer, great patio area. The only downside was the driveway and parking lot. It was in bad disrepair, and not really conducive for motorcycles.

My wife and I were camping at Roan Mountain and stopped in here for dinner and a few drinks. The bartender (goes by the name "Wild Wolf") did an excellent job of recommending beers and ciders from their huge selection to match our tastes. And the owner/cook Dave makes the best Mac & Cheese dish I have ever tasted anywhere! Also, my wife ordered fish & chips, which we found out as they arrived are air fried. I'm usually a bit skeptical about the quality of taste from air fried dishes, but these were as good as any deep fried fish & chips that I've ever tasted! We plan on making this a regular stop any time we are in the Roan Mountain area.

Absolutely enjoyed our visit the station! The 2 guys behind the bar were not only completely knowledgeable about all the beer they served and quick with spot on suggestions, the food was great and the conversation with the staff was fantastic!! No matter what beer you drink they got it and probably one better!

Food was some of the best I had hiking through 14 states, huge selection of beers if you're into that sort of thing, and cozy accommodations in the hiker hostel.

We really enjoy their craft beers and the hiking atmosphere. We were there on Saturday evening when many local musicians come and play together. It was so fun listening and singing to the songs.

We were travelling back to Boone after a 4 wheeler adventure in Elizabethton & stopped in for beer. Many, many craft beers! Plus, after looking at their menu, decided to order sandwiches. Delicious! Super friendly staff, comfortable home/living room environment. Highly recommend just going for lunch and a brew!

Great little place with a great selection of locally brewed beer and some easy albeit deli ious food. You gotta try the Rubeun!!! We got to meet the owner and have a great talk about the place. They have a hostel too for hikers of the Appalachian trail!!
