This place was amazing, the food was great ( don't miss out on breakfast) , the staff was very friendly and helpful, the property was perfectly close to many resorts, the beach, and plenty of stuff to do.

This was my third time in West Bay. The West Bay Lodge was a perfect stay. Great service, and food, quiet, clean, and friendly. I will book my stays there in the future. Thank you to the entire staff for a great, relaxing, stay.

I stayed here with my family for three nights. If I had to sum up the lodge in one word, I would say tired. The accommodation was okay, but everything seemed a little worn. The pool area was unkept and all the chairs and cushions had seen better days. WiFi was spotty at best, and the reception area was only manned for half the day, so any questions or concerns went unanswered for a while. Breakfast was tiny portions, and the ‘buffet’ was a single loaf of bread and some cake. On reflection I would not stay here again, there are many better options for similar prices.

My wife and I stayed at West Bay Lodge and Spa for five days in late May, and we both felt it was the best of the three West Bay accommodations we booked. Melony and her entire staff did a fabulous job of making us feel at home. Our second floor cottage had two comfy queen beds, a spacious, airy patio, and a full kitchen, great for enjoying the delicious local fruit available at the supermarket, which Melony kindly bought for us, for a fraction of what it would have cost from the fruit vendors on the beach. The location is perfect, just a short walk from dive shops, restaurants, a cafe and the beach. The cleaning crew keep everything neat and tidy, and will even do your laundry on request, at no charge! We read that some of the reviewers commented that photos of the resort look a little dated, but what photos cannot show you are all of the many comforts and acts of kindness that make West Bay Lodge so enjoyable. Other resorts we stayed in had way too many rules to make for a pleasant stay, for example: 1- in other resorts, guests get only one room key, very inconvenient for divers who are on different schedules. At West Bay Lodge, there is a keyless entry code that is simple and easy to use. 2- Other resorts are stingy with beach towels, while at West Bay Lodge, towels are left out for guests to take throughout the day. 3- Other hotels have a strict breakfast policy, with no changes allowed, while West Bay Lodge will prepare what you want, and serve it before or after diving. 4- other hotels had tiny ants problems even after we asked them to spray. No ants or crawling bugs at West Bay Lodge. 5- other hotels have little room to charge all your diving camera and lighting gear. In West Bay Lodge there were many plugs and lots of space. 6- other hotels have too many rules about what you can and cannot bring to the pool. At West Bay Lodge they have a chilled relaxed vibes and no stress. We highly recommend West Bay!

So happy this was the place we chose to stay at. Their hospitality is unmatched, staff was very attentive & friendly. The room was spotless and had everything you could need. Great location as well. It's by the beach, restaurants, 2 stores, a clinic & pharmacy. Would def stay here again BONUS: they have 4 cats, which I loved ❤

Friendly, good music, great food. Had the place to myself. I’d rather eat here any day than the overpriced resorts with average food. The seafood dip was super yummy as was the baleada. Highly recommend.

Your hosts are great as they make every effort to make your stay the utmost. They are generous with their knowledge of the island and will, for a small fee, load you into their boat ad wisk you away to some of the best snorkelling spots. The food at the lodge is the best. The staff are so welcoming! A hearty breakfast to kick off your day. A 5 minute walk directly to the beach. Purchase a wrist bracelet from Bananrama for $10. and you use their chairs and beach area for the week. What's great about West Bay Lodge is when you have had enough of the beach crowd you retire to a cozy intimate cabin perched on a hillside with a private pool and complimentary house drink as you await dinner. A great family place or even a couple hideaway!

Wonderful tropical Oasis just minutes to the beach. Clean, well-appointed accommodations, breakfast included. Restaurant serves up tasty, reasonably priced burgers and entrees at dinnertime.

I loved my stay here. If you love animals this place is amazing! There is wifi and cable in the rooms, the beds are comfortable and the rooms have a kitchen. There are also hammocks to lie on. The breakfast is free and is all homemade. If you want a place to relax and get away while having a short literally 2 minute walk to the beach (the walk is safe and there are shops and restaurants on the way). The van to pick up at the airport is modern and comfortable. We went on a snorkel tour which was inexpensive and fun. They also provide lunch and rum punch. We also stayed at a hotel across the street and wish we hadn't (bananarama). If you're torn between the two. West bay lodge is the way to go! The only thing I'd recommend for west bay is candles if/when the power goes out. Otherwise, this place is meticulously thought out and your comfort is important to the owners who live on the property. I would return to this island just for this hotel.

Made reservation in september 2021 with booking .com for 10 days for February 2022 , the price was $1600 canadian. With free cancellation, no charge The owner process a down payment for $730 US on my card the same day . We had to cancel our trip so processed again a credit for $730 Us . I was left with $53 in currency fees which the owner refuses to pay . So if your a canadian citizen beware of currency fees on this property

Celeste's Island Cuisine I'm not one who normally writes reviews, let alone complains. I've worked in many restaurants throughout my life, so I tend to be really understanding when I'm dining out. Celeste's sounds great on paper, and it's bright and attractive in person. Quaint, charming, tropical: all that good stuff. After reading several glowing reviews on Trip advisor, we were expecting a really special meal. The service was fine, but the food--based on everything we read online--was a MAJOR disappointment. Or food was cold, and it was mediocre at best. We came for the baleadas, which were not enormous and overstuffed as advertised. As you can see from my posted picture, a baleada looks a lot like your typical quesadilla. Except it's not very flavorful. And it's COLD! We were the only people there, and the first people served lunch, and we couldn't even get a hot entree? Also, please be aware of a possible check scam. When I received the bill, it had two additional percent charges: 15% & 18%. I asked our server if these were added gratuities. He said they were actually two different taxes: one for the Island and one for alcohol (rum, specifically). I trusted him on his word, tipped him in cash, and left. Once I got back to the States and looked at my account, there was an additional $12 charge on top of the bill that I had already paid. I'm still trying to figure out what this additional $12 charge is! Thankfully, my bank was very nice and removed it. So if you go to Celeste's, skip the food, don't order any alcohol (cuz you'll get taxed to eternity), and make sure to pay in cash (or you'll receive mystery charges on your debit card). My husband enjoyed his Coke in an oversized glass bottle, so maybe have one of those and enjoy the cute, island-y atmosphere. Or just go somewhere else.

🫤 First what we didn't like:, I want to start by saying we are all American couple with no kids, other people may have a different experience. But, for us, it was too loud, too crowded, too chaotic. Loud pulsing music in the dining room, crowded pools with children throwing things are just not what...
