We did a lot of research into dive companies on on the island before deciding to go with Island Divers Roatan, and we are SO glad we did! It had been 5 years before our last ocean dive but we decided to go for our AOW anyway. Needless to say I was fairly nervous and very rusty! Thankfully our instructor Ted was super patient with me, gave me lots of helpful tips in a way that really stuck and his relaxed energy was so calming that I instantly felt at ease. It’s really great to be guided by someone that is so clearly passionate about their work and love sharing it with others. He definitely made the experience much more enjoyable! I particularly loved that they kept their groups small, meaning you have your own space on the boat and underwater. Also all their gear is top notch quality and well maintained. I’m very impressed. Would happily recommend to all! 10/10

I was lucky to have Vivi and Portia for my open water and advanced open water certifications. Vivi is the perfect instructor for someone new into diving - she was patient, assuring, pushed me to believe in myself and made the learning adventurous. Portia trained me for my AOW and I could not be more thankful to have gotten her as my second instructor. She gave me the knowledge I need to continue to hone the skills that will make diving safe and fascinating. She explained things well and made me feel capable of going further. Greg was kind enough to snap some pictures of me and Vivi during my open water training. Rodger joined us on some dives/boat rides out and was also helpful in offering tips and advice. In general, the staff are wonderful and made me feel comfortable learning this challenging sport. I highly recommend the IDC and will continue to give them my business in the future.

Great place to Dive. We hadn’t dove in 3 years since we got our dive qualification but Lorenzo gave us a good hands-on review and kept a close eye on us. The owner, Randy, a West coast USA expat was great to deal with through email and answered immediately no matter what time of day. Use their shuttle for cheaper and hassle-free transportation from the cruise port on the other side of the island. The taxi hustlers at the pier were not overly reliable and a bit sleazy. The coral was magnificent and the little town was really quaint, filled with interesting little restaurants and bars and the beach was small and intimate. Thanks Randy and Lorenzo.

Great service provided and takes the time to help. We were booking with another dive shop on the island and they gave us the run around. We found this place and the manager took his time with us so we could understand where my son's training had stopped and where he would be picking up from. He cares about his divers. My son had a blast. We felt welcome from the time we walked in with the receptionist to the office manager and dive manager. You should go no where else on the island but here!!

The Best dive shop on the island, without exception. Small groups, super accommodating, friendly and well equipped. Bill Perkins has over 3000 dives on Roatan. His knowledge of the reefs, which he loves to share, is vast and deep, and his ability to spot marine life is simply super human. ViVi is on par with Bill in most every way, just maybe a little more laid back, which she supplements with her lion fish hunting prowess. She always keeps the dives interesting, if not exciting. Their boat pilots are always helpful and efficient. And Amanda in the office keeps it all running smoothly. This team does what they do so well because they love their work, and it shows. You cannot go wrong with Island Dive Center.

Stuart Morgan is the best guide and dive master, comfortable and spacious boat, awesome captain. Some of the best experiences of diving in Caribbean. Aside from coffee at the shop, water on the boat, the pineapple after the dive was a pleasant plus. Insist for Stu to be your guide and dont settle for substitution, you will not regret!

Perfect Shop for a one-day cruise-port trip. Ted was an attentive guide. My wife and I are newly certified divers, fall 2021. On a cruise, we looked at shops for our Roatan stop only the day before. Island Diving Center got back quick. We are so glad we found it and got to have a perfect day diving. For English-speaking international travelers / cruisers who want a trustworthy shop with great equipment and very fair pricing, stop wasting your time searching and go with Island Diving Center. They handled the equipment, boating, dive timing, and other details very professionally - we never felt surprised or unsafe and we asked a lot of questions, since we are new. Their website had clear information about price and features. We got a ride to and from the cruise port for just a little extra fee. Paid a PayPal deposit and the balance in cash on site after the dive. Did two dives. Base price $50 per dive, per person, plus a park fee and our port transfer, got our costs to about $240. Then just a tip: don't forget to tip professionals who are dedicated to good support and service. We dove with Ted, who was fantastic. Skilled and knowledgable - high PADI standards - and yet once he was comfortable with our skill level, he took us around great parts of the reef and let us just enjoy ourselves. He managed the depth and timing and details. We just had a blast. I don't know how all groups work at Island Diving Center but we were quickly greeted by friendly English-speaking folks. They got us equipment and set us out by the pool until the morning dive group circled back. The shop is part of a West End resort - pretty new and not commercial like Anthony's Key seems to be. Ted took us out on the boat after asking some questions to figure out what we wanted to do. It was only our second dive after open water training so we were glad he wanted to know a lot about our preparation and interests. He and the boat driver knew the sites inside and out. We had one other frequent diver on the boat with us. We saw so much sea life and beauty. We did two long, full dives. Then they watched the time and got us back to our ship with plenty of time to spare. We cannot recommend Island Diving Center enough and will certainly choose them again when we come back. Roatan is a treasure.

I did my Open Water certification dives 1 and 2 here in January 2020 during a stop on a cruise. Our group was picked up by two vans outside the port area with no issues. Will was awesome to have as my dive leader and I couldn’t have asked for a better first two dives with him. He was thorough in reviewing the skills I learned in theory and the confined water dives prior to my trip, but also allowed for plenty of exploration during the two 1-hour dives. I would definitely dive with them again. My huge family of 26 (14 adults and 12 kids) went snorkelling during my dive and they really enjoyed it. They had a couple of guides to help them find creatures in the water. The only thing that could’ve been improved was that it was pretty hectic when we arrived in regards to paper work. It would’ve been great if we could’ve had the paperwork sent to us beforehand to have filled out and ready to go when we arrived... but that’s what you get for travelling in huge packs! The hotel on site is being built/renovated so the dive shop site is underwhelming but the drawings of what is to come look impressive and I think this would be a great place to stay for a scuba vacation. I can’t wait to dive in Roatan again!

The staff are absolutely amazing, and the services they provide were top notch. Some of the best dive staff I’ve ever come across. Highly recommend this place. Vivi was an impeccable divemaster while I was there, and Greg provided the best night dive I’ve ever had. Did AN/DP/ER with Vasco and it was beyond excellent; Vasco went above and beyond with teaching, as well as helping/reinforcing skills that were not part of the course (he helped my trim/buoyancy tremendously). We also did video review during our debrief. Highly recommend Vasco for tech training. The knowledge, customer service, and most importantly friendliness of all the staff members is something I’ve never experienced in my 15+ years of diving. Strongly recommended!!

I came to this dive shop because they seemed experienced and safe. We were on a cruise and they picked us up and made sure we had another ride back. They were willing to do a big group of snorkelers and divers, but in the end we were just three drivers and a local very experienced diver. Our dive master Beto had 10,000 dives. We had not gone diving since our certification 3 years earlier, and he made sure we were remembering our skills before getting to the meaty part of the dive. I'd love to come back and do more diving here. This place is a great shop with the skills and knowledge to accommodate any diver.

Vasco and his team at IDC are fantastic. Our entire family became open water certified with instructors, Scuba Ted and VIvi. They were great to work with and we will definitely return!

Excellent diving center in Roatán! Absolutely amazing staff, from the office to the captain to the dive master, who has more than 10000 dives, impressed! Safety is not to be discussed here and they are absolutely organized. No doubts at all, it is totally recommended! And we saw so much wildlife!

Island diving center is a state of the art PADI facility with comfortable boats and higher quality equipments. Their staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The instructors take all the time you need to make you feel comfortable and at ease with the skills required to dive safe and have the most fun. I can’t say enough about our dive master Viviane who has been wonderful throughout the whole week we dove. I also highly recommend Bill who guided us through our first night dive and helped us make the most of this breathtaking experience. My wife and I just completed our open and advanced open water certifications during our stay and can not wait to be back diving with Vivi in September!

Amazing 4-day dive trip with Betto and Hector. The staff was super friendly; great knowledge of the local dive sites. We had a great time.

12 dives with this shop in March of 2023. Great shop, superior staff, knowledgeable and friendly. They attract an experienced crowd of regulars who were also great folks to dive with. Ted Anger was dive master on all of my dives; Very professional, very patient, knows dive sites intimately, passionate about the sea life and the reef. I swear the guy has super human vision. We saw turtles on every dive (he knows them all :) ). Also dove with a couple of his students. They were confident, disciplined divers which I think speaks volumes about his teaching style. I will be coming back and hope to dive with Ted again.
