Gym by itself is nice and clean. Usually place is packed around 5-6pm. Variety of classes, Elizabeth is great! But… when it comes to cancelling your membership, horrible experience. Clearly says on your contract you have 10days prior your renewal date to cancel your membership and then surprise, it’s actually 30days. When you ask if they can show it to you where does it say that on your contract, forget about it - they can’t prove it, they just say that contract that you signed is Crunch “in general” contract, but each location has different rules, so basically doesn’t matter what you signed. After arguing with them for couple days, they knew that they don’t have any arguments, one of the girls at front desk said “oh maybe it doesn’t say in your contract, but that’s the first thing that we say to our customers” yeah right and customers will remember that after 1 year. Sick! Then since your contract is automatically renewed and it’s too late to cancel it, they want to charge you $89 cancellation fee. Crazy!!

I joined Crunch Clifton in March of 2020 right before it closed down due to the pandemic. Once the gym reopened in the fall I was excited to get back but was still hesitant so I decided to downgrade my membership since all classes were inactive at the time & I was not ready just yet to take class when they started up. When I tried to downgrade, Aaron advised me of a downgrade fee, which surprised me since we were still in the middle of a pandemic & I had expressed I was not comfortable taking classes once they started up again. While speaking with him, he did not empathize or understand my concerns. I thought I would have to cancel my membership at this point as Aaron did not want to help. Finally after much back and forth , he waived the downgrade fee. Aron failed to explain that by downgrading my membership it completely cancelled out my previous year attending the gym & contract. Aron advised I would have to come into the center to "sign some papers" never explaining I was locked into a brand new contract. I then tried to cancel my membership in May as I am relocating in July. To my surprise I was told My contract was not up yet and I would have to pay a $85 cancellation fee.. When I tried to explain I had signed a membership agreement in March of 2020 and my contract should have been complete in March of 2021, Aron advised he was nauseated by this conversation, he was extremely unprofessional, screaming, offering no solutions and then hung up on me. Aron is extremely rude and should not be speaking to customers or in any position of management. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!!!!

I do not recommend this place. The whole gym is overcrowded and they have classes running most of the time (the HITT are is occupied all the time) and the place is not very clean or well maintained. Also be very careful with cancellation fees. They actually mislead you when you sign up and charge you more than $90 for cancellation fees. overall it’s a pretty horrible gym. I have had very positive experience with Crunch fitness so far and this one was just horrible so I cancelled my membership.

This gym is the most awful gym I have ever been to. I spent four months there and have finally had enough with their antics. The staff is generally friendly, but they are apologists for the owners of the gym. I am a guy with orthodox views about male and female nudity. They do not have any male staff to clean the male locker room. As men (sometimes me) are in there changing with no clothes, older women go in there unannounced to clean. Anyone who is orthodox or hasidic Jewish, conservative Muslim, or any other religious belief that doesn't allow nudity between the sexes, needs to stay the hell away from this place. Even if you don't share that belief systems, but have decency to not have that happen, you also needs to stay away. They are disgusting, inappropriate, and treated me like I am the problem by telling me I am the only one that complained. I never found a more dispicable place such as this. STAY AWAY!

Their staff is the worst I have dealt with, I canceled my training a day before I was supposed to start and they said that they will cancel everything and refund me the money within 3 to 5 business days now I waited a week and I was not refunded I called them more than five times and every time I call them they either put me on hold or tell me they’re too busy to call back and they never do so I had to go to the bank and dispute the transaction because it’s been more than two weeks and it’s ridiculous that they can’t even refund the training which was very expensive and every time I call them and talk to the manager she says oh let me speak to the trainer and then never does which I don’t understand what does it have to do with the trainer. I don’t usually give a one star to any place but this whole situation is very frustrating.

This place is fine on the surface, but don't try and get customer service. For three months I have been trying to switch my membership over and all they did was give me the run around and false information. Besides that, they will film workout classes without letting you know (who does that?) and tell you repeatedly to "see your way to the door" when they are about to close- as if there's not a more respectful way to ask us to leave. Other clubs tell you enjoy your day, we look forward to seeing you again- not here. Edited to add a star for the nice front desk staff. It's the stuff that they shouldn't have to handle that doesn't get addressed because no one seems to know how to handle it.

This location is horrible. Their customer service never gets back to you. There is always some extra charge or fee no matter what you do. I had a year contract and i waited the whole year to go cancel my membership to avoid fees and they informed me i still have to pay the cancelation fee because the new year starts a month before the new year. I haven’t even used the gym in 9 months and waited for no reason. Horrible service!

So I’m here at the gym it’s 6:45am and I have been here since about 6:15am. I was here waiting because other cars were waiting as well, idk who the person with gold hair is but they came running in the gym as if they were late. One person from inside of there car came out and ran inside as well. I was taking my time getting out of my car and gathering my stuff to head inside. But as soon as they see me gathering my stuff they began to speak to each other and as I was walking towards the door they locked the door on me! I’m not sure what policy this is but really lock the door on me! I just came from a 14 hour work day and want to finish my day/night with a quick workout but this is making me change my mind about crunch! I’ve been a member with crunch for 4years, bad enough this gym isn’t the cleanest and the ppl aren’t friendly at all but lord it’s not my fault your late for work and running around inside! A common courtesy would’ve been to at least let me in I could’ve got changed and then began my day but I guess hospitality isn’t to high on crunch’s staff list. I’m trying to hang on with this gym but I think it’s about time for me to go to golds there 24hours and you get treated fairly

My first time ever coming to a gym and this location was an amazing place to start. Caesar at this location was also very helpful when it came to canceling my subscription. Staff is always friendly and during closing hours the employees would always make sure everything is in order. 👍

Not my main gym, have a peak membership. They did not even have towels to supply for your workout or shower. Other than that seems clean on the surface i suppose. The place needs dusting and real cleaning done. Definitely needs an upgrade on simple details like condiments and towels for quick shower. They tried to sell me a $10 body cloth to “dry yourself” after a workout (for after a shower). Mind you those things were disgusting with dust all over them. I scuffed and walked out. First and last time i will set foot in this gym.

My go to spot for about 5 years, hasn't disappointed yet. Has every machine I need, machines are maintained or fixed quicker than a lot of gyms I've been to. Very clean, shout out to the cleaning crew.

I took my first class tonight and it was beyond amazing!!! Aaron (manager) was very helpful and encouraging. He made my experience extremely comfortable by signing me up to take the class and taking me to my class. He also followed up with me after the class to inquire about my experience. I’m glad I chose Crunch. There’s definitely something there for everyone and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure all of our questions are answered and that we are happy and knowledgeable regarding what Crunch has to offer its members. I’d definitely give this gym 5 stars and recommend to friends.

Best gym I’ve experienced thus far! Aaron assisted in my sign on process; he was immensely professional and so kind. He set me up for my kickoff training with Maria who is the sweetest person I’ve met! The establishment is very clean and the staff is polite.

Pretty good. Today was my first day. The set up is a little weird. At least for me. I guess I'm just stuck on the set up of how my previous gym was. The cardio machines were in a completely different section from the weights and facing a wall mirror. All in all it was very clean, sanitary, and spacious. It also has a friendly staff 😁

I love this gym, the staff are really nice and welcoming. The only thing I will say is that this gym doesn’t have a ton of equipment but what it lacks for equipment it makes up for in the people and the cleanliness of this gym. It is so clean here most gyms you feel like you have to take a shower in disinfectant after this place is clean as a whistle. I’ve been working out at this location specifically for about 10 months and I have zero to no complaints.

The staff and employees is very nice and the gym is clean. I been going to this for 4 or 5 years and still going there alone and with my sisters. The manager Aaron always greet my sister and I. They played good music too 🎶 .

They sent me a coupon in the mail from crunch with the address of this location printed on it after I moved into the area. I thought, great, lets sign up. Took my coupon and went to the location. It says 7-day trial and has a starting price listed. They honored neither of them. They said they can do 3 day trial (which is whatever) but they also said the actual price is 50% higher than what the coupon says. Thats the old price the front desk person says even though the coupon came in the mail only two weeks ago. So the bottom line is that they will send a coupon to lure you in then come up with excuses to squeeze more money out of you. Don’t trust their marketing material.

I appreciate all the help from Aaron the director and the staff at Crunch Fitness. Aaron does a great job in training me and always keeps a positive vibe. This keeps me motivated and feeling proud from all his support! I recommend Aaron if you’re looking for a trainer or even Crunch Fitness itself if you’re just looking for a gym. Trust me you’ll feel right at home and not judged in any way!! Thank you again to Aaron I’m grateful for all of our training sessions!!! ✅

Best Crunch I've ever attended hands down. The weights are always aligned from lightest to heaviest, which in turn makes everyone else put their weights back correctly too. Clean, never too crowded, big parking lot.

Worst setup for a gym I’ve ever seen. Not nearly enough machines for how many people are herded into the space like cattle. They have an entire room next to the free weights which is almost always empty and seems like a waste of space. Apparently they have classes in there but I have yet to see one. They have one EZ Bar rack for the entire gym and the ones they do have, there‘s not that big of a selection of different lbs. I’ve been to other Crunch gyms in NJ (the one is Verona is better than Clifton) and other states and this one is the most underwhelming of them all. The only reason I gave a second star is because of the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the facility. If your primary goal is lifting weights, look somewhere else…unless you like having to wait for machines and benches.

My membership with Crunch started around Feb 2023 and so far love it here! I want to give a shout-out to Heather who has been wonderful she truly deserves a raise, she’s been very helpful and accommodating.

Heather is a great manager, she knows what she’s doing and will help you with anything you need. I’m currently signed up in the recovery program with Trainer Noelle, and her technique of pnf stretching has been helping me with my pain and tightness. She’s a good listener and is very careful in taking care of you. She knows her stuff. My trainer is Richard, who also is a nutritionist, and he has been helping me tremendously. He teaches me all of these details to help me avoid injury and to help better grow muscle mass. If you already have an injury, he knows what to do and is very careful in training you. If you’re looking for a trainer, I definitely recommend Richard. The front desk is also great. They help you with whatever you need, they are always kind, and are very friendly. The cleaning team is always there; so the gym is always very clean. It’s a good friendly atmosphere to be in. —Anthony

Decent gym 🏋🏾‍♂️ kinda aggressive with the sign up, and keeps asking the guests to sign up. Also, the tell you that as a guest, you can only use their therapy machines, once. My thing is, that if you want someone to experience the gym's goodies, don't limit the guests, that will only turn people like me off, who were considering a sign up. Now I'll just remain a guest. Other than that, the staff is amazing 👏🏿 for the most part.

The gym is clean and up to date. Andrea the associate who helped open up my gym membership was fantastic. The gym is a little smaller than others but it is has a great vibe. Love this place already.

I've been going to this crunch 5 days a week for about 6 months. It's a very well maintained and clean gym. The staff are always friendly and willing to help. I have to acknowledge Norby who is in management. He seems to be a great team leader and is very attentive to each customer.

I’ve been coming to this gym since it opened. I love it so much here. The staff is the best. They’re super friendly and super helpful, from Gibbs and Aaron to everyone else new or old.

Gym is decent for the money and convenient based on where I live. Machines are generally in working order (not their fault people slam weights or supply chain issues hinder parts for things broken) and it is very clean. Only issues are that is that it is small (most popular section of a gym is the free weights and it's the smallest section) gets crowded quickly even at 5am, and they open at 5am which may be normal for other gyms but opening even 15 min earlier can move people out quicker.

Amazing staff, great equipment, great environment. I just walked it to ask what they had to offer it's really affordable and the plans have amazing benefits that on the spot I already registered. Can't wait to get my dream body there 💪💪

Gym is too small. Staff never knows anything. Wi-Fi does not work. Manager is never around. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I was enrolled in a gym that closed down. Somehow they gave this crunch location all my information and my banking information without my consent. Now they’re trying to charge me for a gym that I never stepped foot in or signed any paperwork for and also charging me a $79 cancellation fee for a gym I never signed up to. This is ridiculous and a scam.

My experience with Crunch’s Relax and Recovery has been amazing so far. Noelle has been an incredible asset to my recovery journey. Her expertise, guidance, and unwavering support have played a pivotal role in my progress. I couldn't be more grateful for her dedication to helping me achieve my wellness goals.

By far the cleanest gym around. The staff truly makes the experience amazing! Would recommend this gym for everyone. Definitely try a day pass !
