    Was greeted. We did the Hibachi (reservation required) Waitress was not friendly. Rushing to take orders. Quick to clean but not paying attention to what we need. The waitress seemed moody. 15% Gratuity was added to my bill for a party for 2. Food was very good. Very tasty. Entertainment was nice. Note: BYOB

    Upon arriving we were seated promptly. I asked if we could sit in three specific seats. The hostess said yes. Then as we were looking at the menu another server came over and asked us to move our seats. We considered moving to another table but at this point we walked out. It was not the clean and it was not very accommodating.

    EVERYTHING was beautiful me and my husband enjoyed the kissing noodles we had no problems with the Groupon we had brought the place was very clean and covid 19 mask are in effect and we will be back. Thanks to ALL staff for a good time and tasty enjoyable meals .

    Hibachi is always a great show to watch because the hibachi chefs are so charismatic and skilled. For the food itself; the noodles and things like that are a little bland, but some of the meats and other items taste really good. To be honest it just depends on what you order. But overall it was okay just didn't really stand out.

    My husband and I decided to drop in last minute to this Hibachi grill. This wasn't our first time dining here. The food is delicious and the service is great. Their staff is amazing and are extremely friendly, which I love. For thus visit we decided to sit in a booth rather than dine at the grill with entertainment. You also have the option of B.Y.O.B which is also great. If you are ever in the area " Mei Hibachi " is worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.

    This place was very quiet n cozy- would be nice while on a date. I went around 2pm - late lunch . Not expensive at all. Located in Hackensack in the shopping center here in Bergen County.

    This place has been doing in the mall for years. Recently, I went there for dinner with Groupon deal. The Interior of the restaurant is dark needs more light. The girl show serves the sunday evening she was not professional at all...she never asked us if we need anything. Even I asked her to bring me an utensile but she ignored my request. Once I got the bill I realized that tip was included..maybe that's the reason why the waitress show no effort. Even when we left the restaurant we said thank you and bye, she just ignored us. I wish she find another job that makes her smile and happy.

    THEY RUINED OUR RESERVATION!! Made a reservation for 11 people on the phone 7 hours before to make sure I would have a table set. I asked if 6 pm was available but they said 8 pm is the only available time slot. I understood and had a confirmation. Went for three family members birthdays and thought we’d have a great time seeing the reviews. We went and they told us to wait cause they weren’t sure when the table next table would be available and we should wait until a table is available. We waited around 10 minutes before we left because we saw that people were still in the middle of their meal. My family came from a far location. My mother was fasting and hasn’t eaten all day. All we wanted to do is enjoy watching the food be made and enjoy it together. This was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I understand if they were under-staffed in the middle of a busy time that they made this mistake BUT I called right when they opened to make sure I had a reservation. Please do better because this almost ruined a family reunion.

    Terrible experience, terrible food my steak was not cooked and they all tried telling me that it was and looked at me as if I had 5 heads (picture below). Was told after I ordered hibachi lunch special and ATE my whole meal they didn’t have lunch that day and we would be charged for a full meal. TERRIBLE costumer service on the owners side. If I could give zero stars I would.

    My friend had his 18th birthday reservation here-- it was for 6:45pm and everyone was on time. currently 7:56 and the appetizers we ordered (quite literally 2 orders of four piece sushi and one cucumber roll) thirty-five mins ago have still not been brought out. they had use wait for about 45 minutes at a side table while the other group finished their hibachi. I don't know why they'd permit so many reservations if they can't manage the time properly. It seems like a great place, but they just seem severely understaffed and completely unapologetic. Two stars for the water. At least they brought that promptly. Edit: never mind, one star lol they've forgotten to give us soy sauce dishes or chopsticks. We're going to eat our sushi with forks, looks like.

    Went there today for the first time around 1 PM. Place was empty not one person eating. Then another group came in and joined our hibachi table ( grandparents and the two young granddaughters ). It took maybe 15 minutes for someone to come and take our orders. As an FYI your GROUPON coupon is ONLY GOOD FOR THE HIBACHI MEALS. NEXT Only 1 coupon per couple. While we waited a huge fight broke out in the back kitchen with screaming and yelling for 20 minutes..... who knows why but they mixed foul language with Japanese which the 2 grand-kids picked up on. We almost all left at that moment .... we all toughed it out regardless. The decor was a bit dated, drab and dark but the food was fresh, very good and large portions were served with the standard chef tricks at the table. I ordered the Filet Mignon and shrimp Hibachi Combo and my wife ordered the scallop Hibachi Dinner. Both were prepared well. I would have given 4 stars if the fighting, cursing and yelling was not part of the experience. Check your bill because they include the tip on the bill yet your receipt has an additional TIP line item as well.

    Fast service, good food. I ordered the pork gyoza, salmon avocado roll, and spider roll. All came out pretty quickly and tasted great. Will definitely be coming back.

    Bought a Groupon and wanted to give this place a try! Made a reservation for Sunday at 4:30. Walk in and get ignored by 6 different people passing by. Finally someone comes up and I tell them I have a reservation, she tells me my reservation doesn’t Exist and I have to go sit at a regular table until a hibachi table is available. Mind you the place only has 4 tables! The girl then proceeds to tell me she didnt take my reservation over the phone the previous day and walks away. I hope no one else ever gets treated like this. Definitely kinda happy it didn’t work out bc the place looked gross and dirty definitely not what I’m used to when I go to Kiku!

    Great food at the Hibachi, friendly staff, awesome chef. I was disappointed when I got the bill to find that they tack on tip as a requirement. I had planned to tip higher, but since it was already filled as a requirement and charged to my card without warning, I left it as is. Their loss.

    This is a solid neighborhood hibachi place. The chefs are good and the service is great. Food is good and the ingredients are fresh. Don’t leave a review for a 5* restaurant when you’re not paying 5* prices, people. This place is great for the money.

    We love this place! It has been our go-to restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. The staff is usually amicable, and the food is consistently excellent. We often choose to visit before the dinner rush hits because, as expected, it gets packed with eager diners. We had one unfortunate experience during a busy dinner rush that disappointed us. Our server, unfortunately, seemed overwhelmed, and it affected the quality of service we received. On that particular evening, our server forgot to put in one of our orders, and despite being informed twice, the missing dish never made it to our table. We noticed several other issues throughout the dinner - missing chopsticks, a partial order, and no refills on our beverages. We had to actively seek her out whenever we needed anything, and it felt like she was neglecting our table. However, when we got the attention of other servers, they were more than happy to provide refills, to go boxes and even the check. We contemplated leaving a smaller tip when the bill arrived due to the subpar service. However, we were disappointed that the option to adjust the tip wasn't available, which left us a bit frustrated. Despite this isolated incident, we don't want it to overshadow our numerous pleasant experiences at this restaurant over the years. The overall service here is usually excellent. We love the food; the menu offers a variety of delicious dishes that keep us coming back for more. The cozy and inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for casual lunches and intimate dinners. The overall experience remains exceptional, and we highly recommend this restaurant for its fantastic food, inviting ambiance, and usually impeccable service.

    Pro: Waitstaff is really friendly. Cheap. Con: Tables are not clean, toilets lack paper and soap and the food is hardly edible. Sushi rice is horrible. Hibachi is just awful. Located between the laundromat and the dental office, so if you break your tooth chewing on the inedible items they mistakenly labeled as food or puke it out, you can take care of the consequences pronto. Avoid.

    Disgusting food. Take a look at the shrimp in green curry picture. Well, it was supposed to be green curry. They just gave me a moosh of something. There is not even a sign of curry in that dish. Very disappointing. The waitress was nice though. She apologized and said she won't charge me for that dish.

    Surprisingly good place to eat. Decor is dated but the sushi was great and the hibachi was enthusiastic. Going to go back there again soon

    Definitely a place to check out with your partner or family. It has a very nice atmosphere. The service is top tier and the staff is very attentive. The food is amazing too and the prices are reasonable. No complaints. 100% worth coming here!

    Beware! They demand tipping 20%! My family and I was looking for a local place to get habachi instead of driving all the way to Paramus. We went and everything was great! We tipped heavy just as we always do and left! We eat habachi at least twice per month so we went tonight again for dinner. There was hair in our Salad which was discovered in our mouth! When the waitress walked off I heard her tell the staff that she now pulled her hair back because her hair was loose- she was smiling when saying this. We all know how much a hair in our food can affect our mood about the food. Fast forward when it was time to pay, I gave the chef a tip of his own. When I looked at the bill, I noticed they include a 20% tip inside of the bill as if it’s mandatory. Instead of giving the waitress 20%, I made the choice to give her a $12 tip (which she would not have to share with the chef because he got his tip from me already) which was 10% because she did not pull back her hair before serving us AND we had to keep calling her over to ask for things instead of her coming over. I paid and I walked out. They literally called me BACK inside and told me that my bill was short. They acted as if the 20% TIP portion was mandatory. I explained that I did tip but did not give the 20% they wrote on the bill. She said “so you are only giving 10%?” I explained yes, because there was hair in my food! Let’s just say that I will NOT be going back there. Back to Kiku!

    I see why this place is empty all the time. Showed up and asked for a private table. They said 40 minute. No problem! I wanted a date night. We waited over an hour, no one brought our appetizers out. Another table came by AFTER us and had late patrons and they still got served before us. We didn’t even see the show as his back was turned. He was only using the other grill. WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK. waste of Groupon too.

    Good place for good a good hibachi experience. It's obviously not Mt. Fuji, it's BYOB and the prices are lower than that of other hibachi restaurants. I've used the Groupon discount here multiple times and know what to expect. Those who give negative ratings on the Groupon should do their homework first. Gratuity is included in the check, and yes I agree this should be communicated upon receiving the bill. Many bars and restaurants have done this to me in the past, so I always ask the waitress if Gratuity is included. Food was great, sushi was fresh and the hibachi chef showed my family a good show! We went on a Friday at 5pm, so we beat the rush. Overall, it's worth the experience .

    This place sucks, they’re very disrespectful, they were rushing me and my wife, we couldn’t even finish our meal before they sat down a big party without having enough seats for them, then made us feel rushed to get up and make room for them. We were so uncomfortable. We never went to a hibachi like this out of all hibachi places we went to, I never experienced such an unprofessional restaurant.These people have the worst service. There food gave me a headache and stomach pain the cook rushed making the food.
