This was originally an island but was connected to the land by the worshippers. Very peaceful temple that showcases the original Guava Tree, after which the island was named. Remove your shoes when visiting the temple. Good idea to visit with a local Hindu as they are very helpful and keen to share insights into the temple, its history and the religion in general. Good views and they have no problem with visitors or photos.

Maha Shiv Sagar Shakti Mandir is a Hindu temple located in the Eastern coast of Mauritius. It is a place of worship for Hindus and other religions in Mauritius. It is also a tourist attraction. The temple is worth visiting as it is found on an island surrounded by sea with beautiful scenery all around. It is a very peaceful place where you can appreciate a very good moment and medidate as well. Access to the temple is very easy by any means of transportation through a bridge which is linked to the temple. To enter the temple, you will have to leave your shoes outside.

I never knew this idyllic temple and general place existed, even though parents and me drove very close to it,to go to the Saint Geran hotel some 20 - 25 yrs ago... So on January 3rd 2023, the girlfriend, mum and me randomly ended at the Sagar Shiv Mandir Hindu Temple,to only be amazed by its surrounding views of the sea, which, in my humble opinion, made it THE most beautiful and peaceful hindu temple in and around Mauritius. Definitely worth a visit even if you're either not hindu or follow any religion. Simply go for the relaxing and stunning 360° view, as you won't be disappointed.

The temple is not very old, it was built in 2007 and is a very pretty sight. The temple is located on a small island named ‘Ile au Goyave de Chine’ in a small bay with 2 very famous hotels around it. On the left you have the Prince Maurice and on the right, one of the first luxury hotels on the island, It was build in honour to Lord Shiva the iconic Saint. The temple is in a very serene location, it is a place made to just relax and let time pass slowly....nearest Wetherspoons is the eight bells in Dover just over 8000 miles away

Beautiful worship place in the middle of the sea. I had seen the place in pictures only. But when I visited the place last week it is then that you appreciate the true beauty of the place. Those who would like to see this place I will highly recommend.
