I was recently hired to photograph a few of O'Brien's dishes. I also had an opportunity to enjoy the Michigan salmon salad, shrimp cocktail, blackened salmon alfredo, fried green tomatoes and seafood diablo. All the dishes were so delicious. What stood out for me was the blackened salmon alfredo. I have had a lot of different salmon dishes but this one just puts the comfort into food. Paired with a good white wine, I was in heaven! I go to a lot of restaurants in the greater Detroit area. Over 200 in just the last year! This place is a classic. I like the warm and fuzzy and nautical feeling of the restaurant. Perhaps because I am a boater and enjoy good seafood. The bar is top notch and clean and the owner Dan is a genuinely nice, has a great sense of humor and is passionate about the dishes he serves. He is going on 31 years in business and has a real loyal following. I will be one of them. The staff is very friendly too. If you had not tried this place, then I would highly recommend you do. And I know you will be back! I had recently went back and tasted more of the dishes and added new ones. This place ought to be featured on Triple D! I highly recommend O'Brien's Crabhouse. This place is a gem!

So my buddy bought a new house, and I came out to see it for the first time. He didn't have any furniture or anything, so we decided to got eat at O'Brien's Crabhouse My buddy went to high school with the owner. When we pulled up, I noticed that it was in a strip mall, and I have to admit I was like, what in trailer park hell have you brought me to. But I am with my pal Goodman, and he has never let me down with a good meal. I got the Half and delicious Half soup, and we ordered Shrimp side dishes that were amazing. LOL, I am at a seafood place, but Goodman told me that one of his friends always orders the ribs, so I went with that. I will say that again seafood place they were not the best ribs. But they were pretty good. This place is a decent spot to eat.

We had the king crab legs and scallops. DELICIOUS! Cost of crab has gone up a lot so we split one order which was 1.5 lbs of crab legs. Great atmosphere and service. There was a long wait but we got lucky and found seats at the bar. Awesome place !

We had a good meal. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes. Being a southern gal, I have eaten a lot of this in my life. They were really good. Any time I've ordered this dish at different restaurants they were always greasy. Not so this time. My husband ordered Frog Legs. I am not terribly adventurous with food, but I tried them. I was surprised. The texture and flavor were much more delicate than I was expecting. I ordered Crab Cakes, also good. I chose red skin potatoes as my side. They were just boiled (which the server told me when I ordered), so they just needed some butter, salt and pepper. Our server was really nice and tolerated me in a chatty mood :-). I also have no complaints with the atmosphere. All good.

The family decided to try out a new place and chose here because we kept seeing the commercials and we love seafood. Honestly, from the moment we stepped inside it was extremely underwhelming! It's definitely not what we expected, but won't judge just by the atmosphere. We were promptly greeted and seated. Upon viewing the very small menu we chose several different appetizers as well as entrees. The food was mediocre at best. Presentation wasn't the greatest, and flavor lacked heavily we definitely had to season our own food because the kitchen obviously didn't. The best thing was the shrimp cocktail and that's saying a lot being that it's a seafood restaurant. The desert was nothing special but it was up there with being the best thing we had here. Drinks are bottled and they bring you a glass of ice to accompany it. Overall, I don't see us returning to this establishment. Our waitress is the only reason they got ANY stars. She was a delight. Our bill was almost $200 and based on what we received, it's a NO for me.

While the experience was enjoyable. I guess one of the normal patrons of the establishment that dines there wasn't tasteful. A little pricey, but I guess reasonable, while the atmosphere was quaint, its a little small but to each it's own. Me and my wife really enjoyed the food, service was alright yet didn't wish us a happy Easter like everyone else who entered but I guess it due to obvious reasons when we looked around. We were the only ones there who looked like us in the entire establishment. Idk if we will go back but for that one time it was enjoyable.

Excellent meal. Great service too. This little place is tucked into a strip mall right by the Salvation Army. Lots of parking. Very quaint decor and comfy booths. The menu is very nice and they do have daily specials. The prices are absolutely on point for the quality of the food. Definitely going back.

Bring back Fran...maybe Sunday is the wrong night to go,. but I had scallops in garlic butter I think the scallops were frozen and were put in an oven baked dish with garlic butter and popped in the oven,. they were terrible maybe it's because I'm a good cook myself and I know the proper way to make these my husband's dinner wasn't much better.. the divorce must have caused the prices to go up too!

Crab legs were ok, no seasoning added at all. The green fried tomatoes were fantastic! Probably won't go back.

Very delicious Shrimp Alfredo. Salad was good. Blue Cheese Dressing was a bit watery and did not taste like blue cheese to me. Wait staff was attentive and good. Lots of other good things on menu.

Today was my first time trying this place because I saw them on Fox 2. The food was average at best. Definitely not worth the price. Out of everything I ordered, the key lime pie and calamari tasted the best. Although, I hate that the calamari was soggy because of the garlic pepper sauce. I also tried the stone crabs, mussels, fries and clam chowder. The fries were also soggy. The bread was extremely hard. The mussels and clam chowder lacked flavor because it wasn't clam chowder. It was broth. The mussels at the bottom of the bucket were empty shells. The clam chowder take out bowl was only half full. I probably will not visit again. The mussels at Bar Louie's had much better flavor.

A great find, I read the article on Google, and it was worth the drive. Maggie is a great server, friendly, and very kind. Maggie recommended Frans Bucket, lobster, muscle, clams, corn, and red skins. We also had the hand dipped coconut shrimp, and keylime pie for dessert. The owner stopped by our table, greeted us and continued to ensure our visit was perfect.

We eat dinner there often with my father. Food is always good. The service is always great. The oysters are hot and miss but you can't beat them with regard to size and price.

I loved the sautéed shrimp with linguine. My wife got the mixed crab with the seasonal crabs. She enjoyed it, but was a little underwhelmed due to not having it before. The service we received was top notch. The clam chowder is the best I've ever had. The dinner plates arrived just as we were finishing the chowder. Highly recommended for a wonderful seafood dinner that will not disappoint.

After seeing the restaurant featured on Fox 2 we decided to give it a try. The fried green tomatoes were very good. The server was fantastic. Now on to the main dish. To our surprise that a crab restaurant serves imitation crab in there dishes and then doesn’t mention it on the menu was definitely disappointing. After questioning the server as to why the imitation crab in the plate her prepared statement was. “The chef says it taste better than real crab in the dish” The last time I purchased imitation crab (monk fish) for a crab spread I certainly don’t remember paying the same price as real crab. Now in all fairness the other dishes we had were very good. Heck even the fried green tomatoes came with real crab on the top of them. Will we go back, yes we will just watch what we order though and make sure we are getting real food on our dishes.

Came from out of town & stopped In here. Very unique and neat decor/theme. Great variety of seafood on the menu from crab legs to surf & turf to different fish etc. Staff was very nice & they were quite good even though there were quite a few customers. Also not too loud to talk and comfortable booths!

I literally just left this restaurant and I'm already thinking about going back! I'll be there tomorrow! I wish I would've gotten my servers name. I sat at the bar and I couldn't have asked for greater service. It only took 3 seconds for me to be seated and the parking is more than abundant. I highly recommend the Raw Oysters, the Fried Shrimp, the Coleslaw along with the New York Strip Steak. (A few Stella Artois's with limes will be even better) you won't be disappointed eating and drinking here!

While on vacation from Pennsylvania, my husband and our toddler ate dinner here. Maggie was our waitress and she was so kind to our daughter as well as us. I ordered the Seafood Sauté and my husband ordered the Lobster. Both dishes were phenomenal. When the lobster dish came out, a butter pan with warmer was part of the experience! Wow!! No hardened butter; a new bar has been set for our seafood dinning experiences!! All of the staff were so friendly and greeted the regulars by name, asking about goings on their lives too! If we ever come back this way again, we will most definitely stop by again!

Service was good. Crab cake was different. Tasted very fishy. Flavor and texture more like salmon than crab. Waitress was informed but I did not ask her to remove the item. Took it home for someone else to eat.

First time experience. Excellent service. King crab legs outstanding. My only issue was the oysters. I ordered a dozen. They were all Bluepoint… the sizes were all over the place. But my main issue was how some of them were stacked on top of each other! I have never seen this before and I hope I never see it again. That is not an appropriate presentation for oysters on the half shell.

My husband LOVES crab legs! I don’t know of too many places we haven’t visited from high end to neighborhood all-u-can-eat specials. I’m very excited to try this restaurant out being it’s his birthday surprise! Saw you have the Alaskan King Crab Legs and various others so he’s going to be super excited to finally get the one thing he REALLY wants for his birthday! Fingers crossed this place doesn’t let me down!🤞🏼😜

New Year’s Eve. A little delayed - seeing as though they’ve never done a COVID New Year’s carry out dinner service. So what is the verdict? ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! PERFECT! Best COVID dinner ever! Thank you, thank you, thank you O’Brien’s Crabhouse. You singularly saved 2020!

The service was great. I had the blackened catfish. It was the bomb digity. The jambalaya that it came with was amazing as well. It paired perfectly. Then for desert we got this raspberry chip ice cream. That matched up amazing with the old fashion I drank.

Traci was my waitress. I am not from the area and had never eaten here. She took the time to answer all of my questions about the menu even as I laughed at myself for not knowing. She was very patient while I figured it out. The food came out quickly and was very fresh. Traci made several quality recommendations that turned out to make a great meal! Very glad I stopped and I will be back!

Went & had lunch with my mom here, absolutely delicious. We had Maggy as our server, she was wonderful & attentive! Try their adult mudslide milkshake~ it’s yummy & strong!
