Owners are some of the friendliest, best customer service minded folks that you could ever be greeted by. Every single time I’ve been there they’re always SUPER friendly and nice as if they were seeing an old friend, but really I’m just some random customer. Add to that every meal option here has always been outstanding. I’m partial to the beef, but always mix it up. Plus, pricing is very reasonable. If an award existed for one of the best fast-casual eateries in Rochester, Chortke would easily be in the running.

I am so relieved Chortke is re-opened! We checked out the newly renovated, dine-in restaurant and it was AMAZING. Every dish was perfectly delicious, the decor is beautifully redone, and we had phenomenal service. There is no picture of the nan-e-barbari bread they served ahead of dinner because we ate it all too fast. Same goes for our appetizers: octopus (grilled and fried to a perfect crunch), and the persian twist wings (served with an eggplant yogurt so good you could eat it with a spoon). If you’re craving Persian classics look closely at the entrees. The beef chelo (first pic) is a kubideh (ground beef) kabob with Chortke’s classic rice. The saffron chicken thigh is also served with rice, authentic Persian barberries, and was perfectly seasoned. Other dishes have a Persian twist: the stuffed chicken (with traditional sumac), and the wild sea scallops (with dill and pomegranate). We left so stuffed we couldn’t make it to dessert. If you haven’t been to this restaurant, take it from a fellow Persian, and go! You’ll also get to feel great about supporting a small business owned by one of the nicest, most hardworking couples I’ve ever met.

Fantastic place... the customer service was super friendly & helpful. The seating area was bright, clean & comfortable. The food... holy cow... excellent! The beef kabob had great flavor & was super tender! Same for the chicken. The "spicy" kabobs were not heat spice but flavorful spice, a generous amount of saffron & other great herbs. We got 2x combo plates with salad. Generous portions for the salad, rice & meat.

Our family ate here frequently before. We loved it then and love the changes. It’s new and fresh. It’s definitely a different vibe and a full service restaurant now. Flavors are great with more dinner options. The kebab is traditional & authentic….It’s as good as ever. There are also surprises on the menu so you’ll have options if you want explore new flavors or stick with the traditional favorites. Well-designed atmosphere and decor! It’s also a family owned business…👌🏼 We ate too fast so I forgot to add food pics. Will be back

A recent snowy night at Chortke kept the dining room quiet, but the food and experience was raucously good. The space feels like a piazza, with warm hues, tile floor, faux trees, a fountain, and woven-basket lampshades. The decor, tableware, and seating feels intentional and complementary, a chic old-world palette. All the dishes on this recent night were sublime - the Brussels sprouts appetizer being a particular surprise winner of the evening. Honey, pomegranate seeds, a bit of heat, and curls of parmesan topped whole roasted Brussels, blackened on the exterior and creamy within. Persian-inspired saffron-infused wings were crispy and spicy with a highly spiced but cooling dipping sauce also kicked off the evening. For entrees, the sweet-spicy oven-baked salmon was a stack of inventive textures, with diaphanous wisps of fried leeks and hearty grilled broccolini. The chelo kebab leans closer to a traditional Persian dish and was deliciously spiced. Rumors of several Persian dishes returning to the menu are exciting. Chortke's Persian roots, plus its creative and flavorful twists on traditional ingredients and preparations, promises plenty more reasons to travel out of norm, right here in Rochester.

Very friendly staff and food was fresh and delicious! I had the chicken and steak with half rice, half salad. Rice was perfectly cooked and salad was tasty. You can customize if there is anything you don't want added. Wish there was a bigger menu but will definitely go back! It's a good addition to the area.

Tasty mediterranean food options. If you don't like sour taste, don't order the spicy chicken. Their beed kebab is really good. I have tried both salad base and rice base, both are really good. They got a really good spicy sauce as well. Ask for it if you love spicy. The portion is enough for two people. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Waiting time is around 10-15 minutes most of the the days. Prices are around 16 dollars but very reasonable for the portion they offer.

Incredible. The beef wrap with rice was filled with flavor in every bite! The feta was especially delicious. The space had fun modern furnishings and I cannot wait for the cafe to open! Please support this local restaurant! This place has a lot of potential and I cannot wait to come back and try the whole menu!

This one is on my bucket list, and finally made it today. It’s a vast place and a lot of seating. It’s kinda authentic middle eastern restaurant. Whatever the food they are making possesses a good quality. Tables and everything are clean and tidy. Coming to food, it tastes really great. Missed the desserts as they are out of them. I had rice with spicy chicken. It’s some delicious stuff with a great aroma. Quantity is good. But, it’s bit expensive comparable but worth a shot. They have wifi too.

The ambiance is very cute. The food is even better. Appetizer portions are surprisingly larger than I thought, very shareable. The flavor of the kebab and rice is so good. The scallops were perfectly cooked. A bit on the pricey side. Our server Chris was very kind. The benches along the wall were beautiful but for someone as short as 5 feet was a bit uncomfy as my feet didn’t touch the floor.

A bit pricey but tasty! The store needs better ventilation though, beware that your clothes and hair may smell like smoke/grilled meat after your meal. They also have a Chortke Cafe which serves illy coffee and they said is gonna open week after next.

This place has impressed me twice. Once for Dinner and once for lunch, both takeout. Reasonable speed, accurate order. Food is cooked as requested and plated attractively even to go. Definitely will visit again.

Stunning place to eat. From the absolutely amazing service to the mouth watering food. I can't recommend this place enough. It was my first time visiting but it definitely won't be my last. 11/10 recommend to everyone that loves great food and wants to be treated like a member of the family.

The food is pretty freaking delicious here and the service is some of the best hands down. I recommend trying trying this place out when you get the chance. The food is that amazing here!

My family went for a meal and the atmosphere of the restaurant was so nice and unexpected. Service was kind and efficient, not super helpful with giving us advice on food selections-- she said everything was good. The food was good, some dishes better than others. Star of the show was the pistachio cheesecake that happened to be in the rotation. Plenty of parking. Will be back soon to this hidden gem.

Great food great staff and amazing ambience for a take out restaurant. I have tried many restaurants in California and the taste of what Chortke offers it’s not even comparable. Should try

I went here a few weeks ago and the food was absolutely amazing. They are doing a renovation though and were take-out only. When I walked in I didn’t think they were open but they did have a sign outside stating they were under renovation. They guy at the counter was really nice and very helpful as well. I think he was one of the owners. Overall, I would definitely go back as the food tasted great and was reasonably priced considering the portions they give.

I had a disappointing experience at Chortke today. The recent update to the ordering system took away the charm of watching my food being cooked. The Beef Kabab I ordered lacked its usual taste and came with a small rice portion and no salad. The price hike for such diminished quality makes it not worth returning. Additionally, the recommended Chicken Kabab looked and tasted unpleasant. I won't be visiting again. See attached photo.

Fantastic place for food! What a gem this place is, hidden in village gate behind the other restaurants there. Very friendly staff and great pricing. Will be going again.

I want to love this restaurant! But I just opened my food and the grilled tomato is charred to the point that it's inedible and flaking on to the rest of my (very good) food. I'm surprised someone would have chosen to serve this. Will try again but I'm bummed about this meal today.

Amazing food and super nice owner. Very personable and easy to talk to. Always a great experience and you never leave hungry. We eat there every time we’re in Rochester.

To start with the positives - the place was clean, and the service was very friendly. I enjoyed the Turkish tea in a can. I had the #3 option with spicy chicken and steak. The meat portions were ample, though the cut of steak was difficult to eat. It was not seasoned, and could not be cut through with the plastic cutlery provided. The steak was rare, as requested....it was simply bland and tough to eat.

Tasty spicy chicken dish with saffron rice, cucumbers and roasted tomatoes. It also came with a creamy yogurt sauce that went well on everything Extremely kind customer service. A little pricey for Mediterranean fast casual
