Read other reviews so went for a meal. Not disappointed. Excellent food from limited menu, you choose one dish from each section, no desserts offered. For example I had Mac pie, fried chicken and veg. The second time I had half Mac pie/half rice and peas, and stew plus veg. Price is fixed B$30 per person, drink prices very reasonable, beers B$5, cocktails B$12. So satisfied we went back again later during the stay. Just beware, you can call to book, but each time no table was reserved. However we were lucky as there was a table available both times.

Great food in a very convenient location. Service was really fast and they hustled to get everyone’s food in front of them in a timely manner. Lots of menu items but not all available at all times - they’ll make them for you if they have the ingredients and you care to wait.

Food here is absolutely delicious. It is a great place to have authentic bajan food. We ate our dinner and even ordered more food to take back to our airbnb. My husband and I also met some great folks who were also on vacation and enjoyed a great cigar after dinner.

Must go to this place a lovely lady cooking great authentic meals with huge portions...we chilled had a couple cool beers whilst waiting for our food to be lovingly packed. Great value, authentic food, we had a take away and all the guests at home loved it. Local gem... This review is written by someone who is a good cook, and an open minded foodie eating at local gems as well as Michelin standards...

Very tasty food, the service was even better. It’s a pity we had to rush to get our taxi. I would recommend sitting in and experience the overall service and atmosphere

Legitimate and delicious Barbados food, so much so that all the locals came in for lunch while we were there! It's exactly what we were looking for after over priced and homogenized meals at the tourist spots. The staff were very kind and attentive. The mac pie in particular was incredible.

Loved it here! Over visiting from the UK and asked our taxi driver for a recommendation, he said here, not disappointed. Lovely staff, great drinks, great food. Just perfect, highly recommend!! It's easy to get pulled into the swanky overpriced restaurants but this food is better, trust me!!

Local family-run restaurant with generous portions of delicious food. We had the fried chicken, grilled fish, veg rice, rice and peas, plantain, macaroni pie, and green banana stew. Highly recommend a visit here for local food that tastes like home-cooking

The food was local and very good. Get the baked chicken! Make sure to bring cash or you'll have to run to one of the petrol station ATMs like I had to!

Grandene's in Barbados is a must-visit for its top-notch dining experience, with special thanks to Shane, the charismatic barman who also serves as the main host and server. Shane's exceptional service and warm personality elevate the dining experience, making guests feel valued and welcomed. His insightful recommendations and engaging demeanor add a memorable touch to the evening. Combined with excellent food and a charming ambiance, Grandene's with Shane at the helm promises an unforgettable culinary experience in Barbados. Also, highly recommend getting Shane's signature drink the "Charismatic". Both delicious, potent and aptly named this will be sure to leave you craving more!

The best food I’ve had in Barbados! Must try!! Lamb stew and roasted chicken both melts in your mouth. Amazing food! Shane was great, was lovely meeting him, and knowing that it’s the authentic family recipes that we have had, makes it even more appreciating! Will surely come again!

Best food we had on the trip. Plentiful and freshly made. Good value. Shane serves alongside his Aunt while mum cooks in the kitchen. He is clearly very proud of her cooking and family recipes. Great find.

Good bajan food but I think it’s a little overpriced for portion sizes and setting. Perhaps there is a tourist price and it’s cheaper if you just get takeaway?

Great food and really friendly barman. He goes out of his way to get you what you want. Great prices and you can pick and choose what you like. Take away or eat in it's all good. And you can call your orders in too. Macaroni pie is amazing. But it's all good! We went in and ordered and sat and had cocktails while we waited.

Great local restaurant, very friendly staff Large portions of fresh local food at reasonable prices. Dinner was priced at 30BDS so the plates shown on the photos. Also serve a mean rum punch at 10BDS. If you are staying in the hotels / resorts nearby, make sure you visit Grandene's, you will not regret it.

Hands down, the best meal we have had in Barbados! Everything that we got was delicious. You get so much food and our plates were licked clean afterwards. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Gotta get- fried chicken, lamb stew, rice and peas, macaroni pie, plantains and coleslaw. Shane and his family are so welcoming. Definitely stop in for at least one meal if you are nearby!
