This park is amazing. The only parks I've been to that compare are Central Park and Golden Gate. It absolutely massive and beautifully designed and laid out. You can spend a few days exploring all there is to see. The art museum and the zoo are both free and world class. I had a great time exploring and taking pictures.

Excellent park for enjoying nature. They have walking, jogging, and bike trails trails. The area has streams, ponds, and fountains throughout. Very well maintained. You will often see various wildlife. Trails are wide and big enough for traffic both ways. Very much enjoyed walking here.

It's such a beautiful park with so much to do. I enjoyed the views and sounds of nature during my visit. I also went to the History Museum. Phenomenal experience.

Love this place!! It has great walking trails, gardens, wooded areas and streams through out the park. Great things for the family; from a great park, a zoo and discovery animals to play and ride on, and picnic areas. Every part of the park has something to offer! A planetarium, boat house, jewelbox, zoo, history and art museum all free to the public. Also a golf course for the adults.

I am an avid park-goer, and let me tell you, this park is HUGE!!! Many parts of the park have different things to see, such as museums, castles, the zoo, restaurants, boat rides, and so much more. I have been to the park three times, and each time, I check different parts to see new things. Moving to STL, this has become one of my favorite parts of my day off. I come here to enjoy the scenery and take my pup out for his daily exercise. I highly recommend checking out this park!

This is a gorgeous park situated in a perfect part of town. Plenty of trails to walk with benches scattered throughout to rest and enjoy nature. Tennis courts, kayaking, canoeing, golf, trails, benches and plenty of open spaces for kites and picnicking make this entire park a picture-perfect spot to relax and explore.

A wonderful park! Always love coming here, no matter the weather. It's fantastic for walking and biking, and a good portion of the paths are paved and wheelchair accessible. There are so many cool hidden spots- like the natural playground and the butterfly garden.

Park rangers are pleasant and knowledgeable about the park. I ride the bike path once a week and simply love it. I must add that they are currently doing lots of work on or by the paved bike path, so be prepared for some heavy equipment or closed sections. I

Forest Park offers a breathtaking view of nature and the St Louis skyline. Hundreds of acres of free golf courses, trails, scenery, sky to enjoy right in the center of a major city. Forest Park contains a world class museum, science center, zoo and more

Forest park is one of the best spot in St. Louis to hang out with family and friends, there are plenty of walking and biking trails and offer beautiful views to enjoy natural beauty. It gets all the more beautiful in fall when everything is so colorful. It has art museum, boathouse, The Muny theatre, Stl Zoo and so many other attractions. There are lush green laws too for sitting with friends and family to enjoy sunshine. Lots of plants and flowers too for nature lovers. It’s a must visit place in the city, a true gem for residents.

Such a HUGE park with so many pockets of areas to explore. Running trails are maintained and there were security people posted around the park (maybe that’s a good sign? Or not?) If you are interested in bridges, this place has dozens of them crossing over paths, waterways, streets, and more. Some are historic with plaques to read their past. Went on a cloudy day, but still enjoyed all the sights. Definitely plan to make a trip back once everything turns green.

Do you know that this park is bigger than Central Park? The place is huge and beautiful. you can find here the History Museum, Museum of Arts and even the St. Louis Zoo! There are tons of trails and bike paths that will take you through acres of natural beauty. We walked over a bridge built in the 1880s, sat by a stream and watched ducks, Saw a huge variety of fauna, and still managed to not get lost. Forest Park Forever has worked hard to keep the entire park pristine.

This park is HUGE!!! There's so many different things to do and see here. The zoo, art, planetarium, sports, restaurants, botanical garden, and more. It's a shame we didn't have more time to explore it. This place is well worth a visit, and probably several if you want to see everything. We'll make a point to stop back here again the next time we head southwest. There are a ridiculous amount of Pokestops and gyms here. This would be a great place for Community Days and other events.

Absolutely beautiful park with free zoo, art museum, and history museum. The grounds are beautifully set up with wood areas and fields. This is certainly a must visit spot if you visit St Louis.

BIG love to Forest Park always. Forest Park is the heart of St. Louis to me. It houses the most beautiful architecture throughout the city- dating back to the 1904 World Fair, the most green space in the city, and SO many free options and activities- such as the history museum, zoo, art museum, and the Science Center. The bike/walking trail takes you on an 11-mile loop throughout the park providing views of The Muny, the Jewel Box, the Zoo, the Grand Basin, a waterfall and fountains, and much more. I'll never grow tired of this park. Various locations throughout the park host different types of attractions like Shakespeare in the Park, Movie on Art Hill, Festival of Nations, Balloon Glow and Race, and many others.

A truly awesome sprawling park! Features include many, many open grassy areas, wooded areas, ponds, wetlands and small prairies. The history museum, art museum, zoo and more all have free admission. The MUNY outdoor theater has very frequent performances. At the concession you can rent paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes. The multitude of trails provides excellent paths for running, walking and biking.

Just love this park!! Jewel Box is so beautiful. Looking forward to our son getting married there in July. The Boat House is a perfect place for lunch. The food is amazing!! Can't wait for spring and summer to really enjoy this beautiful park!!!

Forest Park is the coolest park in the country. Seriously. The paths through and around the park deliver you from the golf course and swanky unique homes through a wildflower abundant re-wilded grassland and deposits you at the entrance of the Zoo (which is FREE)! Choose a different route and you are circling the Missouri history museum (also free) bursting with interactive exhibits, gliding past the jewel box, and strolling into a planetarium 🪐! The things you could see and do for free are mind boggling! I have gotten so much exercise and sunshine just because Forest Park is so alluring. There is a massive hospital on one end and a university on the other. Gorgeous architecture lines the bordering streets. Many paved and unimproved paths to explore. I ❤️ STL

Wow, Forest Park in St. Louis during autumn is like walking through a painting! The trails were unreal with colors that photos just can't do justice. Reds, oranges, and yellows lit up the trees, making each step feel magical. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of a city when you're surrounded by such natural beauty. The trails themselves are superb, well-maintained, and easy to follow. Perfect for a run. The vibe is relaxed; people jogging, couples taking in the scenery, and even some photographers trying to capture the perfect fall shot. You'll find spots where the canopy of leaves is so thick, it's like walking under an umbrella of colors. Despite it being a busy park with a zoo, museums, and other stuff, the trails give you this sense of peace and isolation. If you get the chance to visit in the fall, don't miss it. The autumn colors make it a whole different experience, one you won't forget.

Always love going to this zoo, all the animals look well taken care of. The museum is also a nice place to be. The whole area is very well maintained, I saw a lot of bees on the many different flowers they have in planters and that is always a sign that people care about what they are doing.

I go yearly with family. Always packed but manageable to skate. They have drinks and food if needed. I've only ever got beer and coffee so how can you go wrong. Only one guy accepting cash needs to chill a bit, other than that staff is great.

Went to St Louis for about the 100th time and we decided to explore the park. Very clean, safe and well maintained. Several choices for activities. Could easily spread out a blanket and enjoy a beautiful day. We will go back and explore more our next trip to the St. Louis area.

Honestly I was just going to the St. Louis Museum of Art 🎨.I didn't know I was at the park. The park is beautiful. The landscape is full of native Midwestern plant species and it just breathtaking. I loved it and I see why alot of locals love it too. There are alot of things to do from what I saw. They have boats and the zoo is there and the art and history museums are there. There are trails and water fountains for day. I plan on returning again. Definitely a fave in St. Louis

A beautiful place to skate in the beautiful city of St. Louis the have a rail to hold onto for beginners, ample room for the whole family to skate. They also sell hats and gloves, bring your own skates or rent them, and dont worry they usually have a fire and hot chocolate for the ones who get cold easy 😉.

One of the best public parks in the country. The middle picture is what Forest Park looked like during the 1904 Worlds Fair. Most of the buildings were torn down after the fair but there a still a few left in the park and they are spectacular. Including a giant bird cage that is still used by the St. Louis Zoo.

This is a fantastic park. It is larger than Central Park. The St Louis Zoo is located here. The naturescape area is really unique. I haven't seen that before. My daughter loved it. I didn't get to see the boatyard, but I did drive by. It would be a great area for walking, running, biking, etc. The park is located just off the highway and only a few minutes from downtown. Also, the zoo is FREE (unless you consider parking). I truly wish there was a park like this where I live.

HUGE park. Very nice! Ride the scooters around. Lots of animals to see, and lakes. The bird scooters charged a bit much for how far you went. Was still fun and beneficial. Have to be 18+ to ride.

Cool old-fashioned feel. Very romantic after dark. Good cafe and bar. Rental skates are but or miss. Counter staff can be salty and abrasive at first but it goes away after they see you come back a few times (I think it adds character to the joint). Good lessons for kids and adults. Prices are reasonable at grill and very reasonable for ice time. Zamboni every 90 minutes or so. Ice marshalls are helpful and Dona good job. I saw that someone called it "dated" in a review. The outside area is pretty contemporary. The inside is vintage 1950s but VERY clean and maintained considering people walk through it with wet ice skates constantly. Love this place and it is truly one of the City's gems. If you are looking for a laid-back experience in the center of the actual City, this is it!

Another beautiful day for the zoo! I can never recommend the St. Louis Zoo, enough! My family and I always have a blast when we go!! We happened to go on the very last day for the dinosaur kids park! They've been rated as the number 1 free zoo in America multiple times for a reason!

My favorite park in St Louis. Did you know that the architect who designed Central Park in NY designed Forest park as well. Love running the trails in the park. It’s full of deer and other wildlife. Makes you one with nature.

The zoo is always free but the food, train and a few special experiences do cost a little. Still reasonably priced for a zoo but not cheap as you might imagine. Absolutely loved our experience. Our daughter is 7 and the trains were the highlight for her. We're definitely going again.

Forest Park is an amazing place to visit. The park has a great zoo and art museum, both are free. There are countless trails and places to do outdoor sports and activities. Many concerts and events are hosted in the park, also the park has a golf course. This park is a must see, if you are in Saint Louis.

This is an amazing park with multiple areas of activities for family activities. It was really busy this weekend so it was difficult to drive through some areas but it was still a great experience for the family. We got adventure passes for the zoo online which made getting into events easier. The train lines were too long so we walked the whole zoo and had a great time.

Forest Park is huge. You cannot finish seeing all the places in one day . The best part is it's FREE. Kids and adults can have a great time here. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes because you need to do a lot of walking. My kid enjoyed it a lot. The picnic area is cool. I saw a lot of people flying kites. It looked amazing.

Went there for several activities, starting with a wedding reception for my nephew and his beautiful bride. Great place for wedding reception. Went back the next day, visited the museum. Went back again the next day, which was Monday, to visit the zoo. Getting to the zoo on Sunday had been impossible due to the number of people trying to visit. Glad we stayed the extra day to go to the zoo too. Forest Park has a lot to offer. Wonderful place to visit. Don't just go one time, there is too much to enjoy for one visit. This is a beautiful park, even if you just go there to walk around on a beautiful day like time ones we had worked visiting St Louis.

  • 5/5 Stephanie H. 9 months ago on Google
This is by far my most favorite park in and around the St. Louis area that I love going to. It's aesthetically and naturally beautiful all throughout the park. It's a great place for biking, walking, picnicking, reunions, and just simply taking in the views from wherever you decide to you want to go within the park. There are several places I really enjoy, such as the St. Louis Zoo, the World's Fair Pavillion, the museum, just to name a few. If you're ever traveling through this town and looking for a really nice park to visit, stop on by Forest Park. You won't be disappointed.

Forest Park is a gem of a location, boasting vast expanses with so much to offer. The free museums are a delightful bonus, and one could easily spend an entire day exploring and enjoying all that's on offer. A must-visit when you have the time to truly soak it all in!

This is right next to the St. Louis Zoo. There is so much wildlife here. Not your traditional park, but it is huge with so much to do right in the middle of downtown St. Louis. The hammock spots are my favorite, and make for a very romantic date :) . We watch the birds, squirrels, and 3 huge deer (one big buck) stayed by our hammock for about 20 minutes. This park is a nice escape from the city.

A great place to spend a winters day or evening. The rink is well maintained and the snack bar is inside which is nice for those cold days. It has a variety of snack food and drinks and adult beverages are available if that’s your preference. They have a huge roaring wood burning fire going all the time, you can sit by it with or with our skates, really nice for those watching but not skating. They have lockers for your purse and shoes. Not a big deal but they only take cash so just know before you go.
