If you're a family looking to do something near St. Louis on a budget, you should visit Grant's Farm! You pay for parking ($10-$15) and from there you can spend as much or little as you want. They have turned part of Ulysses S. Grant's old property into an animal refuge that you can visit for free. They have quite a variety of animals and some different packages that you can pay extra for some up close encounters. They have a great Beer Garden where you can grab a bite to eat and every adult over 21 can get two generous beer samples for FREE. It hit the spot on the hot day we enjoyed Grant's Farm. Check out the St. Louis Zoo for another free activity. Enjoy your time in the friendly city of St. Louis!

Great park for the kids and the adults and admission is free. Parking is not, so there is that but no admission fee. Your day will begin with a nice, narrated tram ride through the portion of the property where animals are free to roam. On the ride you'll learn the history of how the park came to be. The tram will drop you off and from there you're free to roam through numerous animal exhibits. Upon exit be sure to visit the stables where you can get up close to the Clydesdales and other horses. There's also a great collection of carriages on display. There's also a few dining options and AB has a hospitality bar where patrons of age can sample some beers at no cost... Bonus!

Great place to explore with your kids, and it’s free! You have to pay for parking. $18 if you pay there or $15 online. But it’s free to get in. You start by riding a trolley through the 90 acre farm, past elk, deer, bison and other wild life and then you get to the farm/stables where there’s a lot to do. And each adult can get 2 free beers!

This was the most magical and creative Halloween 🎃 drive-through experience imaginable! Best Halloween experience hands down!! I was a little skeptical thinking we would drive through quickly and it wouldn’t be worth the money. We were able to take our time and the drive was about 30-35 minutes and worth every single penny. I took my 5 and 9 year olds and they were delighted and enjoyed every single second. I’m sure that my teenagers would’ve enjoyed it too. You can tune into spooky Halloween sounds on your radio during the drive. This was the best Halloween experience I’ve had in my life, and I would go back every year for ever. A+ experience!

Such a great place to visit. It is free to enter. Do you need to pay to park which is cheaper in advance on the website. This is a place where you could easily spend the day. There is a tram tour and then you go to a petting zoo and then there are stables with a couple little food shacks and beer. If the weather is nice it would be nice to hang out here for a good while

Very cute and fun farm to visit! It’s really large and there are a lot of different animals. The history is also pretty interesting. It is free to enter but we had to pay $19 to park (Labor Day- don’t know if pricing was different for the holiday). The ride was comfortable and it was accommodating of strollers, wheelchairs, etc. The goat area is particularly fun, especially with children. You can feed the goats milk for like $2 if you choose. There are also other options to feed the older goats or ride camels. We spent about 1.5 to 2 hours there but probably could’ve spent about 2-3 hours there. Definitely would recommend as a fun activity in the St. Louis area! The staff are also very kind! It’s well maintained. I also appreciated the breastfeeding options for moms here - there are a few private rooms and areas for changing diapers.

We had a fun and laid back day! The staff was very friendly, as were the animals. We enjoyed the tram ride and found the information shared while we were on it interesting. Our kids loved all the animals, especially the horses. You just pay for parking and then the entrance is free after that. Adults over 21 receive two free beers, so that was a nice touch! You can see lots of animals on the tram ride, such as elk, deer, bison, an ostrich, etc. You can bottle feed goats, ride a camel, see the cows, horses, exotic chickens, geese, swans, alpaca, llamas, iguanas, porcupines, and many more animals. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit or stand if you need a break from the sun. They also have a carousel. With a 5 year-old and 8 year-old, we spent about 3 hours there and saw almost everything. It was a nice amount without being too long.

We haven't been to Grant's Farm is a couple years and I forgot how much fun it was. I had a goat try to eat my shirt, my kids lost their sandals in the goat corral while trying to bottle feed them (it was hilarious) and of course free beer with a brat was the adult highlight. The kids enjoyed all the animals and camel rides. We had a blast!

Had a really nice experience. The the grounds and facilities are very well kept. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Parking is $16 but admission to the park is free. Concessions are basic around the park but there are more options such BBQ at the garden. You also get 2 free beer samples. Lots of animals to see, an animal show, and tram ride through the whole of the property. Bottle feeding the baby goats is popular and my favorite too! There other animals you can feed as well, just need to purchase the feed for a small price. Good time for the family and all ages. I'll be visiting again soon!

BOTH the men’s and women’s bathrooms have baby changing tables!!!! So fun! The baby goats see that bottle and they will come after it so some kids there were very scared of this but my 2 year old loved it and my 9 month old wanted to touch everything! Buy your parking pass online bc it’s cheaper also we loved grabbing the fun pass on the website too. Also they do NOT take cash. It was a good half day outing.

Wonderfully done. It was a great experience for both young and old. I would recommend it to anyone. Lots of work went into it and it showed. Kettle corn was delicious and picture from the car turned out great! if you get a chance you should go!

Highly recommend the Clysdale experience. What a fun day getting up close and personally interacting with these magnificent animals. Learned so much about the breed, their history with Budweiser, etc. Grants farm is beautiful and the "free w parking " tram to see animals, petting areas, lush grounds with fountains, streams, ponds and charming European architecture are more than worth the nominal parking fee. Great experience for young families and the young at heart.

2.0 hr wait just to get to entrance. Make sure to make your kiddos use the restroom and bring drinks . Didn’t think this was a 3 hour event. No access to water or concessions. 44 dollars !! Update: After a 2hr wait the Halloween drive was nice and the kids enjoyed it. It was a 3/3.5 event if it’s busy. Enter Grants far from the North to save yourself some time!

Grant's Farm is always a fun place to go. A great time for all ages. I have gone with just a few adults and completely enjoyed myself. I have also gone with groups that bring their kids along and everyone had fun! The relaxing tram ride into the park never gets old. No matter how many times you've heard about the fence being made from barrels of guns used in The Civil War. Once inside the park the goats are the first stop for many folx. Buy a few bottles of milk, go into the goat enclosure, and be prepared for cuteness. There are several more animals to see and activities for kids along the way to the beer garden. In the beer garden is food and, as long as nothing has changed, 2 free beers for the adults. Grant's Farm is best on a spring or fall day. A hot humid day can make that tram waiting line miserable. Parking is $10.00, but park admission is free.

I've been to the farm of the 18th President Grant of the United States. I was surprised to see how big it was to travel on a tram, and my 8-year-old son looked around in a strange way. We gave baby goat milk and watched animal shows. And what I really like is that I can drink beer without paying! It's very good. It was hard because the weather was so hot, but I want to come again next time. I love St. Louis

We went on a playdate here with our toddler on Memorial Day. Being a holiday with gorgeous weather of course the place was packed however manageable. The whole place is stroller friendly. On the tram ride into the farm they stow your stroller in the front tram car. Once we arrived we stopped by the gift store to buy our passes. For $10 they include a merry-go-round ride, 2 milk bottles for the goats, and a snow cone. Near the exit you can visit the Hospitality Bar in the Beer Garden to receive two free beer samples. For an added St. Louis touch they had a Clydesdale out to pet and take photos with. I'd recommend going on a weekday morning if possible. Order your parking pass in advance to save money. Also, if available buy their fresh eggs. They're spectacular!

St. Louis offers so many wonderful free or almost free attractions. This one is by far my favorite. It's a very up close and personal experience with the animals and who doesn't love the clydesdales?! The goat feeding is a true joy. The grounds are kept so clean and the animals are free to roam. The staff was very friendly. Our tram guide Alex was funny and knowledgeable. You do pay for parking which is $15 if bought online in advance. The only suggestion I would make.is finding a way to make 2 lines for entrance. There was a delay for those who already paid waiting for those who hadn't. That is the only inconvenience I see.

It is a very fun place to go to. There is just one problem everything is really expensive and the food is very dry and the drinks cost so then that is even more money.Besides that it is very kid friendly they let you feed baby goats. They are open for a good amount of time. At certain times there is a show that you can watch and it is very fun. I definitely recommend this place if you want to have fun with your kids or listen to music.(PS) they have beer THAT GROWN UPS OLDER THAN 21 CAN DRINK. I do not recommend driving drunk with your kids please be aware.

Grant's farm is an absolute "must see" for anyone passing through or living in St. Louis! The park is beautifully kept and maintained, they have plenty of things for little children AND full grown adults. Tram rides, merry-go-round, goat feeding, shows, interactive experiences, food, drinks, all kinds of this! Only pay for parking upon entry, and crowds are never overwhelming! Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place!

Free admission, 2 free beer per visit, only have to pay $19/ vehicle for parking. Wow what a deal. Staff were all friendly and energetic. It’s a good 2 hours spent in grant farm. Many things to learn. And kids get to see real animals. The farm was well maintained. All animals look happy and healthy. And those Clydes dales were Gorgeous and magnificent.

If you haven't been to Summer Nights at Grant's farm it is definitely worth the price of admission. If you're lucky enough to live within biking distance there is no charge to use the bike rack. Last night was epic. Great music, courtesy of Push the Limit, an awesome drone show, and of course, food, drinks, and a lively beer garden.

For a place that's supposed to be free. Bring Your Wallet!! Also, they don't accept cash, even to pay the outrageous "parking fee" of $20.00 They make you 'buy' gift cards that can't be cashed out at the end of the day. They charge for every little thing after the mandatory 'train' ride to the kids' amusement area. You can still feed the goats, but be prepared to pay thru the nose for a 2-oz bottle of milk or any of the very many things to do. (carousel, camel rides, parakeet house, there are all many ways to spend too much money to entertain your kids) The Clydesdale building is as cool as ever, but missing most of the horses 🐎 There used to always be several out in the fields, but none were to be found on the day I took my granddaughter.

We went for the Halloween drive through. The decorations and lights and details were amazing. It was beautiful and spooky and scary. My daughter loved her gift bag. The only problem was we got there right at 6:30 when it opened and waited for over 45 minutes before we got to the entrance. If we would have known that, we would have kept the baby home and just taken our older daughter.

We went for the Holiday Lights drive through event. There were plenty of good displays. Kids had a blast. The price was a little high and we paid extra for the food/photo package - the cookies were not good. Overall a great experience, we'd do it again without the extra add-on.

Awesome place! We come here once a year and we are never disappointed. Make sure and book your parking pass online, $15 dollars. Date and time needed. It normally takes us between 2 to 3 hours to finish. Make sure and grab the fun pass for the kiddos (snowcone, carousel ride, and two bottles of feed/milk) for $9.00 dollars. Adults grab your two free drinks when ready at the end, by the stables. There is so much to do!

We had an absolute blast this afternoon at Grant’s Farm. Don’t be fooled, it isn’t ALL Clydesdales and beer…although the beautiful draft horses are a sight to behold and there is definitely plenty of beer :). The tram ride reveals so much more wildlife as well as the petting/feeding part of the property. The staff was wonderful! We spoke a great deal to Mr Walter over our beer samples and enjoyed his conversation very much! Our kids LOVED feeding the baby goats and petting all the other animals as they stood at the fence.

What a wonderful day we had! Pay for parking and no admission fee, can’t beat the price! We fed bottles to baby goats, rode a carousel, and ate authentic German food. Awesome potato salad! Most definitely will go back.

Millions have visited here. Why not your family? If no other reason just to experience a cold beer in the courtyard. Your kids will enjoy all the activities with the animals. The tram ride by Grant's cabin and among wildlife is a joy itself. Highly recommend a visit to Grant's Farm.

Went to Grants Farm for the first time today and it was amazing! Family friendly, enough animals to pet and feed to keep you and your children occupied for a bit. There is a plethora of opportunities to take smaller tours to feed and pet the larger animals like the camels and yak. You will learn about the animals on the tram ride from the entrance to the main area of the park. The A.B. pavilion/eating area has a pretty decent amount of food and drinks, as well as seating, but I guarantee the tables will be full if you go in the middle of the day, but people eat quickly and you will be able to find a table. There is opportunity to see miniature horses in the stables right by the food area. There is a worker that will have a horse out to pet in that area as well. We went during Oktoberfest, so I'm not sure if everything was out and available during this time, or if it's normally like that. There are Clydesdales in the stalls across the parking lot on the opposite side of the park entrance. The employees seem very happy to work there and are a pleasure to encounter. We noticed lights on a bunch of trees, so I bet the park is beautiful once the sun sets. I'm surprised at how small the park is, I thought it was as big as the zoo. We spent a good 2-3 hours there and feel like we saw everything there was to see. Parking was $16 and we bought tickets in advance. Otherwise, it might be $19 usually. We will definitely be back!

What an Amazing place Grant’s farm is. I was there for a company event so we have the entire place to ourselves. We got to do the tour got the pet Clydesdale horse ate some great barbecue and had an open bar which was paid for by our sponsor. Very cool to see grants home and all the animals that Anheuser Bush family took care of.

Great fun! Quite a bit to see and do. Watch out for the parakeet attraction! We choose not to do it, but watched others. Several came out bleeding as the little birds can be quite aggressive with their search for food! Our favorite was feeding the baby goats. So cute! All animals are clearly well cared for and in great health. Really appreciated seeing that.

Feeding the goats is an absolute life requirement! They are so cute! They nibble and I want to take one home. The grounds at Grant's farm are beautiful! The estate is overwhelming! Such a classic spot in St. Louis! Oh and don’t forget to stop and see the majestic Clydesdales! They are beautiful!

Grant's Farm is currently displaying a Holiday Lights event. A wonderful drive-thru experience for the whole family. With the year 2020 has been, what an uplifting experience for the whole family. So much time, thought and effort was put into making this such a memorable holiday season.

While I have been to Grant’s Farm throughout my life, going to the Halloween Drive Thru Event was a whole new experience. My family very much enjoyed it and I would go to another similar event if offered. It was well put together, great signage for the line and they had Halloween jokes and props along the line for while we waited. There was a radio stationed that corresponded with each set up we drove through. There were a few animals and live actors and different scenes for everyone to enjoy. Great family event in these socially distanced times. Thank you for offering this to the community!

We went to see the holiday lights at Grants Farm, it was an amazing display of lights and animals and Mr and Mrs Claus by the fire place. The kids loved seeing the horses and all the other animals. The lights were amazing from begin til the end!!!!!! We would do it again for sure.

  • 5/5 Dana L. 3 years ago on Google
The holiday light displays are 10/10! We went to both Halloween and Christmas. I wouldn’t have guessed that they could have improved from Halloween (it was so great!), but it was an even smoother experience at Christmas. No wait, and they had the courtyard set up like the North Pole. I hope they continue to do this every year, as it will become our yearly tradition to attend!

  • 5/5 Michelle H. 3 years ago on Google
The Christmas lights were spectacular! I hope they continue this tradition in the coming years!

It's free, how can you beat it. Not as good as it used to be with the reduced number of animals but still nice. Don't forget to stop at the US Grant historical site across the street. The National Park service does a really good job displaying one of Grant's former homes and barn. It's one of the newer historical park sites. There's also a very nice bike path long grants farm that you can enjoy as well. You do have to pay for parking and don't forget to visit the Clydesdales which are on the opposite end of the parking lot from the park.

The Grants Farm holiday drive thru was excellent and provided several differently lighted scenes. In addition to the lighted trees and landscaping there AB team presented beach, farm, and live animals scenes. The entire family had a great time. The Grant’s Farm holiday lights were a festive way to celebrate the Christmas season. We enjoyed seeing the Busch mansion decorated for the holidays as well as the rest of the light display. Our favorites were the light tunnel and giant Christmas tree with lights that went along with the music you can listen to on your FM radio. All and all it was a wonderful evening.

Very nice place. One of the most popular tourists attractions for locals and out of towners in the St Louis area. If you have small children in strollers or developmentally disabled persons in wheelchairs or other mobility devices they are wonderfully accommodating here. Polite, accepting and helpful staff. I can not say enough how much I appreciate the way we were treated. No matter how many times we go. We truly appreciate everything they do you. Kudos to the entire crew.

It was our first time visiting Grant's Farm. Our son is in a powered wheelchair and we were concerned how accessible everything would be. We very pleasantly surprised the tram could accommodate his chair. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. There was plenty to do without additional cost. It was a fun day!!

We love visiting here! This place is so good for families. Staff are very friendly and kind. They have rooms for breastfeeding/changing and to get overstimulated kids calmed. Very clean and the goats are so much fun. Definitely do the family passes if you have kids. I paid for mine online and very easy to redeem in the gift shop when you first get off the tram. Staff will take care of your stroller on the tram too.

Beautiful land and fun tour. Clyde dale's and Camels where the excitement of this visit. Only wish I could have gotten the pass for the horses too, but were sold out. What is needed is more souvenirs of the horses. Like better horse photos on a shirt or cups. Over all one of the better attractions in St. Louis.

This place is beautiful and great for younger children. My husbands company held their employee appreciation day here and allowed all of the families to do everything for free. We were able to feed goats (goats were very much all over you trying to get the bottle), feed parakeets, take a picture with a Clydesdale, etc. my youngest child is almost 10 and she still enjoyed it but I feel like it’s more centered around much younger children. My only disappointment was that the Clydesdale barn was closed and we couldn’t go see them.

We had a great day with the family here. Our first stop was to visit the Clydesdale stable! They are also out in the fields and easy to see. The tram ride into the park was really cool with the animals being right next to the tram. The farm park itself is a lot of fun with animals to pet, goats to feed, an animal show and more clydesdale stables. Pay for parking and the rest is free unless you buy things along the way.

The parking was expensive at 19 dollars. They no longer accept cash. The train/bus ride was fun like usual as was looking at the animals. They unfortunately got rid of the ferrets. All together, the experience was fine.

We loved visiting here! There was so much to see for free and we paid for a few extra experiences. Cameron led our Animals Encounter tour. He was funny, knowledgeable, and made it a wonderful experience! My daughter lived her best life petting and feeding all of the animals. We will absolutely be back next time we visit STL!

I've been living in St. Louis for a little over 23 years and the day I went to Grant's Farm was the first time I've been there. It was an awesome experience. I really enjoyed watching my students feed the goats and I definitely loved the peacocks and animal show. I was on a school trip but I would definitely go back.

A must see while visiting St. Louis! The staff could not be more friendly and lovely…everyone is always smiling and saying hello. It feels comforting and welcoming just being there! Love feeding the goats and taking the tram ride through the farm. Great places to take the younger kids for some farm animal fun!

We went here last summer and had a great time. The value for the price was great. We especially enjoyed the goat feeding and the bird feeding. Obviously this is a great place to bring kids, but we had fun as childless adults. Other than a young lady (who seemed to dislike people) working at the goat food stand, all the staff were very nice. The staff was mostly a combination of young people and seniors, and it was nice seeing the different generations working so well together and seeming to have just as much fun being there as the guests. We're city dwellers, so we're not used to being on any sort of farm. But, from our limited understanding of such things, this seemed like a very clean place with well cared for animals. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're visiting St Louis.

Had lots of fun. Saw bird show. Love how they have the water sprayers so u can get a mist and stay cool. Lots of cool animals to see.

It was pretty neat to see some of the older wagons and horses. Good petting zoo for kids and Camel rides. The down side expensive bottle water I guess it is to be expected. Overall great experience..

Loved the drone show! Very patriotic and creative. Night was perfect temp low wind so it was really great seeing that many synchronized drones performing. The bell rang, the flag waived and the horse ran! All really cool! And there was a double rainbow!

It's a family fun place to visit. For a long time there hasn't been many animals. This year it looks like they've slowly added a few to make the experience better. The bird show was disappointing. In the past the show was longer and with more animals to showcase. The goats are always the most popular attraction.

We absolutely love Grant’s Farm and our kids had a blast. My son loves the tram and feeding the goats. If you purchase parking tickets on their website they’re $16 instead of $19. Everyone is so kind and helpful at the park and of course, free beer! The only drawback is they do Clydesdale tours so they only have a few pony’s in the pins and the rest are empty so there’s no true experience for the kids to see a big adult Clydesdale, unless you pay $26 a person for the tour.

We were back in St.Louis at the end of June for my teenage son to have some follow up appts at Cardinal Glennan. He had never been to Grant's Farm, and I haven't been in close to 20 years. He thought it was going to be "so boring," but he LOVED it!!! The tram ride is so nice, and we had a great time feeding the goats, interacting with the horses, etc. It was a fun day!

A fun experience, spent a bit more money than I would have wanted but it was fun for my 4 year old. Fed the goats, fed the parakeets, did the camel ride (2 laps), carousel, got him a tattoo. Be prepared to be nickeled and dimed if you want to participate in activities.

This is a beautiful place. Not well suited for RV travel, especially a tall motorhome. The Clydesdales are so adorable. The park admittance is free, but the parking makes up for the nice gesture. Tours are pricey too, but you get time brushing a Clydedale superbowl commercial star! LOL He much enjoyed the experience, nearly falling asleep as he was adored. I wouldn't go a lot out of my way to visit, but on the way, it was a neal experience. Don't waste money eating here unless you just want the convenience.

The way this works is that parking costs money; but getting in is free. If you don't drive.. well... First you get on a guided tour on a small set of cars that takes about 15-20 minutes of much of the farm grounds that tells you about the place and how it got to where it is. At the end, you get off in the main attraction section where there are over a dozen separate animal places where you can seem them all, take in a show, do a camel ride or feed baby or adult farm animals. We did the animal behind the scenes and got to feed several animals, pet others, and get deeper info. They offer 2 free drinks and food for sale. The people working with the animals tend to be young people eager to share. Spent almost 2-1/2 hours here.

A great free experience for the family! Have fun seeing all the animals like the giant Clydesdales, goats, fowls, camels, tortious, lamas, deer, and many more! Only paid $19 for parking and the tour includes 2 free drinks. A must go when visiting St. Louis.

It's worth every penny. It's worth the trip. This place is stunning with a lot of history. It's a fun, family-friendly environment. Food, keepsakes, gift shops, animal feeding, train rides, music, and much more.
