Very disappointed with this medical group. I have been with Atrium for years and this has been the roughest year and a half with them by far. Back in October I had a medical issue that took three weeks to get a referral just to wait another 2 weeks for the appointment. Recently I had another medical issue that is took 2 doctors appointments and an urgent care visit in 6 days to figure out there IS an issue but my primary care is telling me to call my gyn and my gyn is saying my primary should be able to help me since they don’t have any appointments available until 12 days. I understand it’s a lot of people that need medical attention, but maybe they should close excepting new patients until they can take care of the ones they already have.

They misdiagnosed me, I don't have the flu. They didn't run any test you just guessed. Even I know I had something other than that. As nurses and doctors you owe it to the patient to do your best. The staff was nice but you have to do better. 40-80 thousand people die each year from misdiognosis each year. Another 12 million suffer from complications as a result of misdiognosis.

There are too many physicians in this group who are discriminative, body shaming, stereotyping, and basically rushing your care. I will predominantly say South Park & steelecreek is one of the worst and the other locations also have their issues. But the issues at The locations I listed, are so egregious, (Making someone lose their insurance because they decided the medical group no longer want to treat you because they assume that all charlatans are drug addicted, poor, or indigent) that the “do no harm“ oath is thrown out the window. “Do no harm” does not always mean directly hurting someone, it could be indirect harming someone as well by not taking proper action and care and that’s what happened to me and my son. It is hard to find a good doctor who will take their time with you and really show and act like they care without pre-judging you by your ethnicity, skin color, insurance, zip code, clothes, ethnicity, hair, or any other stereotype these doctors hold. It’s actually super sad, unprofessional, and she will lose. Medical licensure in all 50 states. I’m speaking of Dr. Blake Goodbar and Molly Fortner

There is no finer Primary Care Physician than Dr. Terry Short. He is an excellent physician and diagnostician but, just as importantly, he is a great listener and he truly CARES for his patients. From the minute you walk into the spacious office and are greeted by their wonderful receptionist, you know you are in good hands. Their phlebotomist is as painless as it gets and the nurses are friendly and efficient, also taking any time necessary to ensure your visit goes well. I am fortunate to be his patient.

I’ve been to Atrium Health Steele Creek Location several times before but I never had the bad experience that I had today. First of all, I booked my Annual Physical Exam two months before because I know it’s very hard to get one in the month of Jan and Feb. I went to my appointment this morning and the nurse was like I can’t do this appointment today as it’s not one year yet since I had my last physical exam. It’s not that of a big difference , I went in early only for three days. After coming back home, I went in and looked my previous appointments and they always took my appointment irrespective of the one year mark. I did ask my nurse several questions about it but she was very particular that the insurance won’t take it. If they can’t take the appointment instead of telling us on the spot they should let us know in advance when we made the appointment two months back. It was ridiculous. We prepare all the way to be there but the nurse didn’t even have courtesy to confirm with someone else. Atrium Health should make sure that their nurses are informed of the insurance policies.

Mine and my husband's experience with Mecklenburg Medical Group Steele Creek has been excellent. We were both at a stage where we felt our well care was not up to date and our Mecklenburg Medical physician fully embraced us and got our care up-to-date. Thank you!

A very nice meeting. Dr. Sullivan was attentive nd offered new prescriptions to counter the high A1C. Unfortunately, t $700 per month it’s a fail. Continuing on, will make it without the drug.

I appreciate the friendly greeting and the ability to register prior to my appointment, to keep things on schedule. Dr Sullivan did not rush the appointment and listened to my concerns. She was thorough and attentive and I felt I my appointment went very well.

This is by far the WORST hospital I have ever been to. If you are okay with sitting for 4 hours and STILL not finding out what your actual medical emergency is, then this is the perfect hospital for you. After going in around 6:45pm on Friday, August 4th, 2023, by 10:45pm, we were still unaware of what the issue was. Not once did a nurse/doctor communicate what the hold up was or listen to the concerns of their patient. Instead, they simply left him waiting for hours, in a patient waiting room (separate from the regular waiting area) for 3 hours! To give you some insight, this patient was admitted due to having severe chest pain, a weird feeling in his lungs, and high blood pressure (177). Although the nurses were aware of his condition, they failed to follow up and ensure that he was okay. Instead, they were seen on their cell phones at the desk while this patient was waiting to be seen in his room and receive an update. After waiting four hours to receive any kind of update, I called and asked to speak with the Doctor (this was after overhearing that only 1 doctor was on call that night, ridiculous!) and instead was transferred to the "Charge Nurse" Kerri at 11:05pm. After explaining the situation and expressing my concern, Kerrie had the audacity to tell me "4 hours is actually not a long wait in the emergency room". Excuse me? You're telling me that although this man has been having severe chest pain and high blood pressure, 4 hours is still not long enough? So what does qualify as "long enough" until he is seen? She then continued to say that the nurses were well aware of his situation, yet no one was checking in, and nothing seemed to be getting done. Never in my life have I seen a hospital filled with such careless staff. All walking around miserably and seeming to have no interest in the care of their patients. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. If I could, this hospital would receive ZERO stars. Everyone working at this hospital should be ashamed. We look to nurses and doctors to help us and after my experience today, I will never be returning to this hospital.

First time visiting a health care facility in the states and everything went well. Very few people inside, the staff was friendly and quick doing all the processes. Nurses and the doctor were kind, polite and professional.

From ease of check in to lab work and doctors, one of the best doctors offices I have been to in the last 20 years! The staff is courteous and patient. Dr Joseph is an amazing doctor. She actually takes time to explain the why and the what and is not the kind to rush through an appointment in 5 mins. Would recommend this doctors office without hesitation.

A great group of medical professionals. Personable, knowledgeable, and thorough. Good, positive vibes flowing throughout the practice. The only downside was the length of time to get a rescheduled appointment (@7 weeks) following a weather-related office closure.

I was not very happy whatsoever with my treatment from Dr Kathleen Short. She made me feel dumb and used sarcasm when I wasn't willing to be vaccinated with all the multiple shots she wanted me to take! She also belittled me when I told her that I would rather try to make as many lifestyle changes as I could, rather than to take pills to correct a high cholesterol reading. I will be looking for a different GP for my future.

I always wait until the last minute to request medication refills. This puts pressure on already overworked staff, but my doc always tries to fill my meds as fast as he can. Dr Terry Short is my primary care doc. He is the best!

This was my first time visiting Dr. K Short as I wanted a doctor closer to my home. I am completely satisfied with this choice. The office staff, nurses, and Dr. K Short are wonderful, caring, and spot on with their health care! I am very pleased.

Dr. Kathleen Short is one of the most outstanding, remarkable, caring PCP's, Internal Medicine, I have ever had. My husband and I have been under her care just shy of five years when we moved from DC.
