I heard about Novel Neighbor months ago from my best friend who shared a Tik Tok made by them about book recommendations. Then STL Bucketlist posted about them ranking them as one of the top two book stores in St. Louis. So my husband and I decided to make the store the first stop of our date night. What a nice little treat in the middle of town this store is! We went on a Thursday night and it looked like there was an author reading and signing in a larger section of the store. We didn't know the author, so we browsed the quiet store pretty much alone. The fiction section is well-developed and full of little notes written by staff on their thoughts about various pieces. The children's section was vast and even included the cutest little reading corner. I also really appreciated the MANY themed trinkets (lots of different book and TV show fandoms) available for sale. There was truly something for everyone available here. I purchased All This Could Be Different (recommended on their Instagram page with specific interests listed that pointed to me enjoying the book), my husband purchased a collection of Edgar Allan Poe's greatest pieces, he bought a neat wooden Lord of the Rings bookmark, and I bought a Our Flag Means Death magnet. Honestly, the only thing missing from this store is a cat or dog roaming the shelves.

I found this bookstore on TikTok two years ago, and was so excited I had the chance to visit it while in town for a work conference. It was such a great store, and I'm so glad I was able to spend some time time and money there! 🥰

This is my favorite bookstore! Not only do they have a great selection, the atmosphere is so welcoming and cozy. Also have awesome mugs, stickers, and other adorable trinkets that make great gifts.

This place was so cute! Not only a bunch of beautiful books, but also adorable merch. Including t-swift merch! There were a lot of fun nooks and crannies here, as well as unique displays. I liked the wall of the staff's favorite books!

This is an awesome independent bookstore! It is such a warm and inviting place with great selection. They host a number of author and other book related events throughout the year. They have a great social media presence, and are a great asset to the community. Check them out, and shop local!

This is my go-to place for gifts, books or other "gifty"-type things. I just think it's the best bookstore in St. Louis! Not only do they have a great selection of books for all ages, but they generally have a really good selection of other items that would round out a gift bag nicely. I can spend hours just looking around the store - the building has so much character, it's perfect for a bookstore. The staff is great, the events are good, and I think the mystery box is a wonderful idea.

I enjoy visiting locally owned bookstores while on vacations and this one came highly recommended, during a recent trip to St. Louis. I was not disappointed by the recommendation, as I was met with a friendly staff, a good selection, and a welcoming atmosphere. Give The Novel Neighbor a visit next time you’re in St. Louis!

Cute store! Was pretty expansive. I didn’t get to check the whole place out as I was in a mission. I enjoyed looking at the Knick knacks and extras such as coffee mugs, candles, pins, and stickers. Stickers were a little pricey. I want to say one was $7 but yknow. You can’t not

We love indie bookstores! We were visiting family in St Peters, MO and decided to visit the Novel Neighbor based on a) their social media presence and b) a recommendation from a family member who used to live in Webster Groves, MO. Such a good choice! The bookstore, itself, is great; lots of good choices for books, stationary, and etc. But the staff was SO good. I use a walker and they were right there, saying, "Hey, there's a step but we have a ramp..." I didn't need the ramp but appreciated the forethought.

My friends and I went last weekend and the vibe is just AMAZING! We spent about an hour walking around and looking through the incredible book selection and trinkets available. It was so much fun, I can't wait to go back! Truly one of the coolest bookstores I've ever been to.

My second visit to this wonderful store with my 6 year old grandson. Great selection of books for youngsters. However, what makes the store special are the staff. They proactively help you find a suitable book and do it with patience and enthusiasm. It really is a pleasure to visit!

I live in Tennessee and found the Novel Neighbor on TikTok. I am trying to buy from independent, minority and/or women owned bookstores versus the convenience of Amazon. I was so excited to get my 15 year old, avid reader nephew a mystery box subscription for Christmas. He thought it was the coolest gift. My mother-in-law gave me a gift card for Christmas. I am blown away by the customer service and the ease of shopping online! I ordered 2 books, one was available and one on order. At checkout, it stated that orders containing pre-orders or books on order would not ship until all books were in store and I was prepared to wait. Imagine my surprise when I got a beautifully wrapped package with one of the books and a hand written note. (They did send me an email, which I only read now- my personal email is a disaster!) Even from 400+ miles away, they provided above and beyond service that will keep me ordering books!

The Novel Neighbor is probably my favorite near-by bookstore. Books are easy to browse, gift selection is unique and quite often local, employees are helpful. I usually end up buying something I hadn’t planned on buying. It’s great for gift shopping.

This place has a great vibe! A wide variety of books and gifts and a great section of kids books! The employees are friendly and very helpful. Support local business, shop there.

Incredible book store! I saw them on TikTok talking about an author signing that was coming up. I live on the West Coast so wouldn’t be able to go in person so I emailed asking if I could order a signed book to be shipped. They were happy to do so and didn’t even charge extra! My signed and personalized book came in amazing time.

Have not visited in person, but ordered some books online for shipment. They were packed very carefully and they included a handwritten note about one of the books that made me literally cry…11/10

Cute, cute, cute! I just love an indie bookstore. When you’re scrolling #booktok and realize one of your favorite accounts is local, you patronize! Great book recs, love the space, and everyone is so nice. Can’t wait to attend an event.

We absolutely LOVE The Novel Neighbor! The store is super cute, carries a wide variety of books and other bookish items, and the employees are incredibly kind and helpful. I also love that registered book clubs get a discount on the books they're reading!

This is my favorite bookstore! I love how cozy it is, and the staff is always helpful. They are also very knowledgeable about the books on their shelves - no matter what I'm looking for, I can always count on them to know a few really good books that fit. I usually go in for one book and leave with one or two (maybe four...) extra.
