Not only have i had some of the worst bed side manner from the doctors at u of u. Both my mother and i have been billed after the Hosptial has collected their agreement price from insurance. When i speak to insurance they say that is fraud. However now with collections notices for my mother’s bills, after they’ve collected, where do we turn to? This hospital claims to be for the people; just not seeing that when they are fraudulent with their billing.

I recently had to go to the hospital a few times and met 2 separate doctors for counseling. Both of them were really nice and attentive. They took time to explain me everything and answer my questions. The general areas were very clean and hand sanitizers were available every where. The staff I interacted with were very friendly.

You have some really GREAT doctors & nurses that work here, but unfortunately, just like every big corporation, the overall concern about they people you care for has gone downhill. My mother came in for shunt surgery not too long ago - (she had a brain hemorrhage & has been on a trachea ever since, is not able to move &/is speak) - & only a couple of days after her surgery, the “doctors” (probably more like the insurance department) decided to discharge her, with only a couple hours of notification to myself & the family. (I wasn’t even able to dispute the discharge, as I wasn’t even given that opportunity to do so. Being that my mom has had complications before, during her recovery - & being that even vomited after her surgery - I felt that it wound have been safer for my mom to stay in the hospital a little longer, to ensure there were no complications along the way….I thought that patients &/or their advocates were supposed to be notified of a potential discharge at least 24 hours in advance? 🤷‍♀️) Never mind your concerns, if you have a critically ill loved one in their care - until the University of Utah Hospital system is changed from within (I’m suspecting a lot of the faults lie in their corporate sector) then nothing is bound to change for the better, for any of Utah’s residents & those who come to this hospital to seek the care they need. (In the corporate world, you’re nothing but a number - better yet, a price tag. Once your number is up or once they no longer can charge your insurance for anything more, then you are nothing for & to them. This especially & in particular applies to the corporation that runs this hospital.) This is my feeling at least - somebody please tell & prove to me that I’m wrong! Corporations are infamous for turning otherwise good businesses upside down - hopefully if this is the case for the University of Utah, they expel any of their shady/heartless corporate leaders, before the hospital becomes just another casualty of an otherwise cold & ruthless system.

“If the workplace is toxic, then they can’t deliver the care you deserve” An employees review: I think pay is fantastic if you are full time along with advancement opportunities. Breaks are okay not the greatest. My biggest concern is cliquey management and co workers that will harass you and get away with it. I have personally experienced harassment from a co worker who made fun of my religion of choice, has called me inappropriate names, made fun of where I grew up and would publicly humiliate me in front of patients, and cause work drama with me and another employee who use to be my friend. Also have overheard workplace racism. This is suppose to be against every policy at the U but apparently management thinks this kind of behavior is acceptable because of their favoritism and could care less about workplace bullying. Management likes to preach about these issues without actually fixing them. They do this so they don’t have to answer to someone that’s in charge of them. Any manager at this hospital that sweeps serious problems like this under the rug, should be fired. I do not recommend working here if you are looking for a job or maybe if you’re a patient seeking care. Not worth your mental health as a worker or patient.

It has always been a great experience at U of U hospital. All my 3 kids were delivered here. Staff is so cooperative and caring. Very professional. They go extra mile to make you and your visitor make feel comfortable. They are surely in the top 10 best hospitals all over the Nation for a reason.

I have no concern about the hospital, but the construction that is going on around it is crazy. We were driving in circles for 25 minutes and constantly got stuck in traffic, but couldn’t find our way going into the hospital. It is right there within the reach but no one directs cars to go in. I ended up dumping the car with my husband and walked under heat towards the hospital. It is 104 degree and I am 8-month pregnant. I feel lucky that I am not in an emergency situation but I am 15 minutes late for my appointment.

I went to this hospital to have my baby because it was the only option under VA health care. I refused the cervical exam because my neighbor died from an antibiotic resistant staph infection she picked up giving birth at a hospital, and I didn't want to risk an infection. Since I wasn't following their standard procedures, the nurses didn't know what to do. They asked if I would consent to having the fetal monitor, and I said yes. They had me sit on the bed and strapped the fetal monitor on, and then one nurse on each side grabbed me and pushed me down on the bed. They held me down as the doctor did a cervical exam against my objections. My baby was crowning, so they kept holding me down, and I pushed him out so fast that they didn't even catch him. I tore from pushing him out so fast while on my back, and the nurses kept holding me down while the doctor stitched me up. I complained to the hospital many times, but never even got an apology. I can't sue them anyway, since my baby and I weren't really hurt physically, and it's past the statute of limitations anyway, so why can't they just apologize and say that they won't let it happen again?

I had my surgery done by this place 5 years ago. I was treated like an idiot after surgery because they thought I made up rare condition and I ended up staying there 2 days extra. Their ability to communicate with each other is DISMAL. One thing that I was very upset is that surgeon added port to my head WITHOUT informing me before hand and casually mentioned it in followup checkup. I guess all they cared about is doing the work, no communication is needed. You have opinion? Who cares? Something important for them to know? They ignore. I am so so glad I did not go to this place for different surgery.

The staff treated our daughter horribly! They would not keep up on her meds causing her pain to spike, then tell her to deal with it. she had bodily fluid splashed in her face & in her mouth. The aid denied it had ever happened. Then made up a poor excuse for it happening. After treating her like this, it was found that there was additional issues that were causing pain. Too bad the nurse would not take the time to find out. She seemed to feel just coming in and checking the box that she was there was enough. check marks are numerous! If I could give a negative # of stars I would. I know every stay is not like this. the last portion of the stay was 100% better. This is an amazing hospital. Every place, every experience are good & bad. The U is generally a great experience. Not this time however.

Not reviewing the hospital itself but the transit and pedestrian accessibility around the hospital right now. Their choice of layout and organization constitutes a serious accident waiting to happen. I was walking back to my home from attending an event elsewhere, and had to pass through the medical complex area because my usual pathway had been closed down, and there was a diversion [medical school construction]. Basically, there is no real pedestrian pathway in some areas of the hospital complex construction zone, and I needed to walk down the busy road for a bit to link up to another pedestrian route on a slippery incline. The pedestrian routes they do have are often really steep and slippery with loose gravel or sand/dust on them, and they are never demarcated with signs. Your only other option is to walk around muddy fields full of equipment or construction materials strewn about. These aspects make the pedestrian functions very hazardous for anyone with walking mobility issues, balance problems [me], wheelchairs, or anyone susceptible to getting confused or having cognitive difficulties [also me]. I did not get hit by a car or fall down, but I nearly got heat stroke because of how disorientating everything was and how long it took me to navigate around there, on an August day. I did not expect to be put in so much danger for going on a simple walk. It is disgraceful how ableist this setup is, especially since we are talking about a HOSPITAL. I do not care that this is a temporary setup to accommodate construction. The administration in charge overseeing this construction project needs to plan for better and SAFER circulation options for visitors, patients, and pedestrians trying to get around.

This review is for surgery scheduling and urology dept. Zero confidence in this establishment. Eye opener should have been when doctors tried doing a procedure on my son that could not physically be done. If his medical chart had been read before hand, they would have known this. Why ask for copies of medical records if you’re not going to read them. Surgical scheduling dept is deceitful. His surgery was scheduled back in August. Three weeks before surgery they request to move his date because his surgeon only had his surgery scheduled for that date. He explained no, this was not possible because of work schedules, school schedules and flight plans already made. They understood and said they were looking at the day before his scheduled surgery. Fine good. That still worked for our already moved schedules. After a week and a half of telling him that they were working on it, they lied through their teeth and said he was never scheduled for the date he was scheduled for and ironically he was scheduled for the date they wanted to move him too. Now we are out money for our flight ticket and have to go through all of this again with a different hospital. I guarantee we will be doing better research of the establishment before hand and choosing more competent docs who do read requested medical records before hand so they know what they can and can not do. 12/19/22. My son has to continually call this facility to see what time his surgery is scheduled for on 12/20? He calls every couple days for a week and a half. Is told he is on schedule and will be told day before surgery. Drives from Rexburg to Salt Lake today and calls the hospital himself. Guess what time his surgery is for? NEVER! He is not on the schedule!?!? What the heck University of Utah!? Why repeatedly tell him he is on the schedule and will be called to suddenly not be on the schedule at all. Very poor establishment when it comes to patient rights and care. And the 800 number they replied below is a joke. My husband called them two weeks ago and was told they would look into all this and call back. Crickets. We hear nothing. He called back today after all this and yep. They have record that he called… he should have had a call back… he never was called back. That’s the respect they have for their patients and families of prospective patients.

My dad came here and they determined that he had stage 4 untreatable cancer . He passed away young months later . I was just disgusted with them bringing in different staff to use him as a way to train people. Hes not a rat ! They were all just rechecking his teeth and other things for nurse training . I was just too upset to say anything. His good nature allowed them to check out things when they wanted . Miss you dad ♡ !

I had to have emergency spinal surgery following a motorcycle crash in a race at Utah Motorsports Campus. Not only is this among the nicest, most modern facilities I have visited, but the emergency and trauma staff are SECOND TO NONE. Absolutely great care. I felt like a person instead of a patient. The physical and emotional support I was given has made a direct and positive impact on my recovery. Food was pretty decent too, many thanks to the nutrition staff as well!! I hope I never have to return but if I do, I know I’ll be in good hands.

We had a a MRI pre authorized. The hospital billing has been very unprofessional even rude unwilling state there name after being extremely disrespectful. Now we be we are being threatened to have wages garnished even though insurance has fully covered the bill 3 months ago. Hospital is still claiming no payment unwilling to look into why the are not showing payment. On hold with billing for 3 hours in 1 day now.

I'm sitting in my son's hospital room for the third day, still waiting for a pulmonary specialist to actually show up. They have been talking about doing that since Thursday at 5, it's now almost 2 on Saturday. For one of the best hospitals in the United States, as they so proudly advertise in the main lobby, they're obviously not ranked in pulmonary care. I keep hearing that they've paged him/her, but nothing so far. Maybe they need to hire more than one, or fire the one that they're trying to actually get here to do his/her job. Once I find out this doctor's name I'll post it here, as they need to be called out for their lack of priority or care. Our nurse, EMTs, CNAs, and other support staff are obviously doing the best they can, but they are not getting any information related to the doctor's statuses either, and are forced to apologize while my son is coughing up his lungs FOR 3 DAYS NOW without answers. I do not fault them at all. I'm completely underwhelmed by these "world class" doctors' urgency. I have been walking the patient room halls on several floors to see if they are busy, but they're nowhere to be found. I don't recommend this place at all.

Several times I have received calls from collection agents for bills I never received. I pay everything I owe and I pay it on time yet these mystery bills keep showing up in collection! Very annoying. Avoid if possible, the emergency room is unreasonably slow. I might choose to bleed out instead of going here. Enjoy your 8-12 hour ER visit no matter what. Check in and wait for a couple hours. Have your vitals taken then wait another couple hours. Every step has hours in between and its not necessary. Other ER's are managed better. Billing person comes in and asks you questions, wait another 2 hours. See a doctor for 5 minutes then another two hours, etc. Doctors have lied to me on different occasions. Insurance, profiteers and political pressure have too much influence. All treatment is subject to those whims and not what is best for the individual patient. Be educated and take an active role in your healthcare. They are basically a monopoly and it's very difficult to find medical care or get a second opinion from someone that is not affiliated with the University of Utah. Not all bad. The cardiology department is one of the best in the world. Some of the doctors are top notch and most of them are doing the best they can. Nurses are pretty great and treat people well. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I was flown from Montana to this hospital for an emergency surgery on my pelvis. As I arrived, there were 20 or so doctors in a room awaiting my arrival; which I was very impressed with. Within minutes they had all performed their duties and I was on my way to the surgical unit where I met a very friendly anesthesiologist, I forget his name unfortunately but he was great. I was then quickly carted into the surgical unit and was asked to breathe through a tube. Next thing I knew I was waking up from surgery in the ICU and the battle was on to get the Tracheotomy out of me, one of the worst experiences of my life (which was not the hospital's fault just part of the process). Half an hour later it was removed and I was able to breathe, talk, and calm down. I was then introduced to my nurse Phil, who instantly stepped in and started running the program. It was a fairly quick visit to the ICU, which I attest to Phil's professionalism and attention to detail. I would trust that man with my unborn baby. After leaving the ICU and moved to the regular hospital rooms, I was impressed with the functionality, cleanliness, equipment, view (I was lucky to be on the 6th floor with a view of the city/Stadium), amount of staff available, etc. Now, this is where there could've been a little more professionalism and communication between all the departments and teams because I ran into a lot of issues that could've easily been avoided if there was more communication/documentation of what was going on. This place almost felt like a sorority house with a little medical visits thrown in. Shout-out to the nurse Kylee for making my stay extremely comfortable compared to the other nurses/CNAs/doctors/transport personnel I dealt with while staying there. I wanted to give this hospital a 3.6 score for overall rating, but had to choose between 3 or 4 so the reason I went with 4 was because of Phil, Kylee, the anesthesiologist, and the surgeon who all made my stay/treatment top notch. Thank you guys so much for your services.

I’ve always been told how amazing this hospital was, after my experience with the CVICU, I would not agree. The nurses are just there, my mom had a different nurse almost every shift. Some were very nice and the others, were awful. The Dr. we had, had the worst bedside manner. With covid, we were not able to be with my mom and it was horrible. We constantly had a gut feeling something was wrong. No one could be there, to hold the nurses accountable, communicate with doctors or advocate for our mom. We would call, and everyday we would get a different report. If we could get the head nurse to call us back, our concerns were dismissed and she would defend her nurses. When we were finally able to see my mom, she was sedated, she wasn’t even awake. She had a leaky IV, it had leaked on her blanket, not a little, but enough it was gross. She had dried phlegm on her tooth, that I had to pick off, but was assured they were doing oral care every two hours. The hygiene was not up to par. The best, a nurse gave my mom IV medication without wearing gloves. Yes, we saw this while we were FaceTiming. Also, there was a sign on my moms door, that said: please be aware, patient may be wearing AirPods while FaceTiming with family. Take that however you would like, but to me it wasn’t good. What ever you do, DO NOT take any personal items with you. They will end up missing, and you will get the run around, trying to get the items back, which you will not. What kind of employee takes item(s) from patients? The customer service is like that telephone game we played as kids, you tell them something and by the time it get to the person and back to you, you are seriously shaking your head, because it has been flipped and not even what you were voicing your concern about. Any ways, just be warned. I hope and pray my family never has to have services from the U of U ever again.

I have been to almost every emergency room in the state, and I will tell you NOT to go to this one! I wouldn’t even give it one star Please seek care elsewhere. I was here 10 years ago for a migraine, and I was SHOCKED at how rapidly it has declined! I will try not to go into the boring details. I went to the hospital because I had tested positive for Covid, my oxygen is low, and my BPM is extremely high (in the 150’s). The staff was unconcerned and inefficient. I was there six hours, saw the doctor once, and only received one bag of fluids (despite being deeply dehydrated). I also received my results on mychart hours before anyone came to see me. Once the staff changed, I received a new doctor, who would have given me more fluids, but by then I just wanted to go home. If you want to place to give you the care that you need, stay far away from the U of U hospital. Since coming home, I’ve heard nothing but horror stories. I wish I had known how terrible the staff was before going.

As an Inpatient this hospital is one of the best. As an outpatient this is the Worst hospital. The communication with specialists is awful. They don't keep you informed about your care plan or why they want you to do certain tests/procedures. You feel more like a herded sheep than a patient. Protocols make no sense. They wanted me to get a covid test when I had no symptoms. My infectious disease doctor almost wasn't able to see me because I had a 99.1 temp. But then went down to 98. I don't even trust the specialists they have assigned to me anymore. Wish I could talk to whoever manages the hospital because there's more issues.

I had a doctor come into my daughters room to ask her if she feels safe at home and if she is feeling suicidal (we were there for a diabetes issue). They billed me $300 for the 15 minute visit. The doctor came in every day for 3 days with the same questions and spent 15 minutes each time. Yep I got billed $300 per visit. This is a crime. But not only is this way over priced but the visits were not necessary, she never gave us any updates or advise, just asked the same questions every day that a tech could have asked for a much cheaper rate.

I really want to leave a good review, lab and radiology were great but this is the 2nd time I have been put into the covid respiratory unit when going to the E.R.. With having an extensive medical background myself, I'm pretty upset with what has happened each time in this specific unit. Tonight, I was absolutely not seen by 1 Dr. My Sp02 consistently dropped down into the 70s. When I heard one concerned girl ask another why that is she responded just shortness of breath, even though on my discharge papers it had my oxygen at 100. When I called and asked why, they ended up telling me the lowest they charted was still above 90 and that they charted my heartrate in the 70's... what??? I know what I am looking at when looking at the machine because it os alarming and due to my medication I was on earlier in the evening, it wouldn't allow my heartrate to be in the 70's. I ended up hearing so many inappropriate conversations, some intentionally defying the hippocratic oath and laughing about it based off of someones type of insurance. Another being giddy about someone having a confirmed case of covid because they would "have more money". It took a 1/2 hour to remove my I.V. and I literally had to walk the girl through it. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours for discharge paperwork, from the time I was told I was completely fine and good to go. Guess those conversations were more important. I'm pretty scared I didn't get the best care. Drove an hour hoping I would. Now to explain my first visit, the Dr. skewed my records by saying if I didn't have covid, I had anxiety because I felt I couldn't breathe. I told him about a prior surgery of my throat to do a biopsy & the dr./surgeon not being able to find the mass and was in there much longer than expected. My heartrate was up, but my oxygen was fine. I asked do you think my heartrate is higher cause Im actually working harder to breathe? He said it was a possibility, but diagnosed me with Anxiety. Couple days later, I went to the surgical voice center where they discovered the muscles in my throat were at a constant contraction and that is why I felt like I was being strangled from a prior surgery... Not anxiety!!!

have never had more problems than I do with U of U. 3 years in a row I have gone there for lab work for my yearly checkup. All of which is paid in full by my insurance. For all 3 years, the billing has been screwed up. I've had to contact them and work with my insurance company multiple times to get it billed correctly. I NEVER have this problem with any other labs using the same doctor's office and insurance. This year as I was trying to get it taken care of they submitted my bill to collections and now are telling me they won't do anything more with it. It's nearly $700 that should have been covered and they are not willing to help straighten this out at all. Oh, and they have stated they will take it out of my tax return next year if it's not paid.

If I had a dime for every time the physicians and specialists told a young woman with a proven, and life-threatening physical illness that they were faking it, looking for attention, or had conversion disorder and/or anxiety (over-worriers), I'd be a rich young lady and could buy myself a yacht. I've known /at least/ 2 friends who nearly died or /are/ dying because of this blatant and toxic misogyny. And I'm joining that statistic. If you are a young woman with a serious and rare disease do not go here, find a provider out of state. This is evil incarnate. I did not choose my words recklessly in this review. They WILL l take advantage of your money, and will gaslight you while doing so, so you can't get any real help.

I have been to the hospital 3 times in the past month. Once to the ER for the initial kidney stone, two weeks later for a CT scan, and then returned for the removal of the stone. In all three instances, the medical and support staff was outstanding. Not one person was "going through the motions", but each was the pinnacle of kindness, courtesy, and professionalism. I am grateful to the folks at U of U medical!

The staff are very friendly and kind, I absolutely loved the diversity. But they did lack efficiency and they were understaffed. They had a hard time staying on top of meds and the nurses weren’t acquainted with the kind of injury I was dealing with during my stay and so they were not able to help me to the best of their ability. Overall the hospital is quite nice and very good. If they had more staff then it would most likely be a 5/5.

This hospital is so hard to navigate and no one helped us find the right entrance or building. Half the entrances were closed and nurses and janitors would stare like a deer in the head lights rather than helping us figure where to go. It was an emergency

I needed a ultrasound for some abdominal pain. I was referred here by my doctor. I called in advance and taked with the billing department and asked with my insurance what to expect as far as billing. They pulled up my insurance info and said one charge of 422. They did not inform me that there would be another 100.00 dollar charge for a man I never even talked to, to review it. They also didnt let me know that I was out of network. So nothing was applied to my deductible. Then two months later I get a bill saying the ultrasound was actually in total over 200 dollars more. And they just took the money I paid the day of with out ever sending me a bill to the doctor again that I never met, and was never told about even after calling to find out the charges. I wanted to find out what was going on exactly so I reached out to their customer service rep. And explained why I was upset. You wanna know their response " I'm sorry to hear that? Can I help you with anything else" not even acknowledging any of why I was frustrated. I work in a healthcare office and we would be fired for how I was treated in this whole thing. I will never refer anyone to this hospital again IHC is a million times better then the UofU. I will say the one good thing about my visit was the radiologist tech was very nice. Other wise worse hospital experience ever

The worst experience my dad had kidney surgery after when he was in the room they gave him Tylenol for pain !! So after 30 min of pain The gave him a controlled pain pill. Then 40 min later he had chest pains. I’ve never seen my dad yelling from being in so much pain we pushed the nurse light 5 min went by no one came I finally walked down the hall to the nurse station they were just sitting their one was even on Facebook on the computer !!!! Wow horrible !! Finally all his stats dropped and alarms went off and the emergency light went off 10 nurses came running past me and another 6 down the hall. I told them now you come his light was on for a while. About 6 nurses shuffled around in the room and one ran to go get the crash cart as I stood outside with about 7or 8 more I told them are u going to call the doctor or order an ekg or u going to wait till he codes!!! Well long story short this went on all night finally at 2am they did an c-ray and an ekg!! Really he could if had an embolism or have a stroke!!! Never ever will me or my family come back and I will never refer any patients at my clinic to the u for surgery or to see a specialist The UofU is so involved BUT NOT WITH THEIR PATIENTS .. I hope this gets to someone important and can train their staff better. Maybe it will prevent this from happening to another patient

I had issues with with the ambulatory services at the sugar house clinic called Thomas L Miller's office to have the issues addressed. The clinc kept putting out my appointment until I ran out of my hear medication ; refused to give me a refill until I saw the Dr. Again weeks out ! Thomas Miller has no morals what so ever ! Do not trust your healthcare with the u of u. Healthy you ! No accountability what so ever. It is amazing how many people are complaining !

I tested positive for a UTI and was told to wait 48 hours for culture results. I messaged the Dr after not hearing anything about an antibiotic and he messaged me 'your culture didn't get sent out the other day, Boo. Sorry about that.' It's in my records that I'm prone to kidney infections and that's the level of care the Urinary Department and Specialists give people. In not sure is he's just rude or rude because I'm autistic.

I was transported by ambulance after a horse trampled me and from the beginning it was a nightmare! I was in lots of pain! They sent me to x ray and nothing was broken so they come in and is like ok nothing is broken see ya bye 👋 Even though the pain is unbearable and trying to ask them for anything was like pulling teeth. I also had a very large road rash injury that was filled with rocks and dirt that my husband was finally after hours asks them if they are going to clean it out and they handed him a wet towel and he did the best he could. I could go on for days about how horrible they were and now one week later I'm back at the hospital (different and much better hospital) to actually give me the care I needed so thanks for absolutely nothing I'm sure I will get a big huge bill for being treated horribly for very serious injuries but since nothing is broken your fine🤦‍♀️

I went to the ER for a severe dystonia flare that was affecting muscles in my face. I was having an allergic reaction to a new facial wash, that was exacerbated by existing facial nerve inflammation from mold allergies. I had blurred vision, terrible headache, and could barely concentrate or think from the spasms. My facial numbness was getting worse and I was having a hard time moving any muscles. I've had dystonia 3 years as diagnosed by a former GP. I've remained on muscle relaxants to control it. This time, my meds were NOT controlling this flare nor was anything else and I had no choice but to go to the ER to find another med that worked. But when I got to the ER, I was gaslighted almost immediately and denied my reality by some of the staff members. First they got suspicious over why I was pacing around in the room, and thought I was on drugs. I did so because the tension was so bad that the only way to distract myself from the pain was to keep moving around and getting the blood flowing. I was otherwise relaxed and definitely NOT having an anxiety attack, just miserable from the dystonia and waiting for relief. The doctor did not give me the care I deserved. He took one look at me, WITHOUT examining me whatsoever, and deemed that I was having a nervous fit or delusional. His 'evaluation' write-up implied my dystonia was fake news. He also tried to give me a totally unnecessary anxiety drug to treat an anxiety attack that never occurred. It would be another 2-3 hours before I was actually given something (valium) to treat the dystonia. 2 more hours spent in hell for no reason at all. FORTUNATELY, some of the staff members were more compassionate and understanding. A couple of the nurses were very kind, helped arrange the area so I could rest (I have a sitting disability), and one of them successfully managed to convince the doctor to give me valium as well as anti-inflammatories. They also made sure the rest of my needs were assisted so I was comfortable, and accommodated my comorbid sensory processing issues when drawing blood. It was only because of the valium that I managed to recover from the allergic dystonia and could go home and sleep that night. That's the only reason I don't give this rating 0 stars thanks to those staff persons. However I do think this is a prime example of medical gaslighting. I really hope one day this kind of treatment of female patients in need becomes a punishable offense, full stop. It's abuse of the patient and a violation of the duties of the healthcare professional to treat the patient.

I am giving this hospital 2 stars only because I had a positive experience with my doctor and midwife who were both incredible. Since that appointment however my experience has been nothing short of horrific. It's even hard to write this review as I'm currently hooked up to an IV and suffering very bad hyperemisis but the staff here has made me feel very unsafe and unwelcome. After my doctor prescribed an anti nausea medication to me my pharmacist could not find the prescription. I called the office and they said they sent my prescription to home health. So I called them and they said they weren't a pharmacy. So back on the phone with the U and they basically refused to send my prescription to the pharmacy saying home health would have to deal with it. Finally my nurse from home health had to sort it out for me as I was dehydrated and in and out of the hospital trying to deal with this. When they finally sent my prescription in it was for 1 week with no refills. I could go on forever, it has been weeks and weeks of calling this hospital. When they finally booked my follow up appointment they booked my ultrasound 2.5 hours away from my OB appointment expecting me to wait there in the hospital for that long. When i called explaining I could not physically stand or sit that long without being sick and weak and becoming dehydrated they really couldn't cared less. In fact the scheduling person threatened me saying she would be scared if she was me to cancel my appointment. I'm not even sure what she meant by that. Of course I canceled it. I can't physically even make it that early and then wait for that long. There have been so many more instances. Too many to write here. It's been such a stressful experience with already being so sick.

There’s a major flaw in the COVID drive-up testing: While the nurse was waiting for me to spit in the tube she went to 2 other cars to distribute tubes and get those people started. She came back and held my tube to look at the marker and then went to the other cars. The guy behind me was done so she took his and put in a biohaz bag. Then came and took mine. She wore the same pair of gloves to handle all our tubes as we were still handling them. So if the others were positive then the virus landed on my tube that I handled and vice versa. As a health care provider, I was blown away! Have someone else distribute those or stick to one person at a time, or at the very least, change out your gloves. This was U of U Urgent Care on 21st and 15th W. Also, what is the point of having an appointment if it’s a free for all. 20 people did not have an 8:00 appointment. Even people behind me initially ended up ahead of me in the lane splits. Not 1 car, but 6 cars! The Sugarhouse location did an impeccable job in comparison in the summer.

Go elsewhere! I could tell you a hundred reasons why, probably wouldn't read them if I did; "Go elsewhere!". What is wrong with America's health case system is so evident here: Privilege! They are unaware, and they Do Not Care! There is no accountability for their actions, except: "Privilege". They flaunt it, abuse it; with a University Hospital there is little, if any, legal recourse, they make horrible, neglectfu,l decisions, they abandon you, imo medical malfeasance abounds here, "priveldge" most hennious... "Go Elsewhere!" They discriminated against me, removed me from their TRANSGENDER PROGRAM--- as with persons on the Autism spectrum they fear me not because I lie, rather because I tell the truth,"GO ELSEWHERE!". Plz feel free to contact me: Jo Ellen Ruby Petrichor [email protected] as above.

My wife and I were unsure of where to go for the birth of our first newborn. We are very glad we chose the University of Utah hospital. We felt like we had an all star team in the labor and delivery, and although they were busy, they communicated with us and addressed our concerns without putting any pressure on us throughout the birthing process. My wife was very nervous for the first delivery, but her nerves were managed well by the U of U team. Particularly we would like to shout out to Kayla (with the purple bangs :)) who was our nurse throughout our delivery and did an absolutely amazing job of helping us feel secure, taken care of, and aware of what was going on. Through the actual labor process Kayla and the whole team, Doctor Nacy and many others I do not remember their names sorry, were absolutely incredible! They were incredibly motivating for my wife, and did not let her give up through the process, and made her feel like a rock star (which she is) which I super appreciated. Kudos to the labor and delivery team. Also, loved the valet parking service, that was legit. Also, we need to give a shout out to Newborn and Maternity unit. They did an amazing job of spending time with us and making us feel a little bit of relaxation and helping to calm our newborn parent nerves. Definitely felt like they helped get this deer in the headlights in the woods and prancing home with our baby. Big shout out to the whole team, the midwife who came and spent time and the pediatricians and entire staff. Another big shout out to Philip who was with us for two different days and did an outstanding job educating my wife and myself on literally everything we needed to know before going home. You could tell everyone was very knowledgeable and experienced and they spent good time sharing that with us. Two thumbs up on the experience, would not hesitate to come back to the U with another baby :). Big thank you to everyone who helped us!

I cannot imagine better care than I received during my most recent hospitalization. Carolyne greeted us as soon as we walked in, got me into a wheelchair and personally delivered me to the ER. There was a lengthy wait in the emergency department, but they kept me and my wife informed at all times as to what was happening. They also made the best use of that time by getting blood work and X-rays underway. Everyone was so kind, I cannot remember all of the names and feel bad leaving anyone out. There was a doctor in the ED who realized my wife was trying to close her eyes and sleep on a folding wooden chair in the corner of the transitory room; he personally brought her a larger chair to stretch out a bit and also provided a pillow and blanket for her to use - yes, the DOCTOR went out of his way to do this in the middle of the night! I entered the ER around 7:30 p.m. and at 2:30 the next day was taken to the cardiac catheterization lab for a procedure. My wife left to try and check in about 20 minutes early at the nearby Marriott (The Guest House was full) and wasn’t accommodated by them, so she returned to the 4th floor cardiac ward and Anthony told her my status and said he would keep her posted in the waiting area. The cath lab was very busy and the waiting rooms were full, so she ended up sitting in a chair by the pop machine near the elevators, but a man of his word Anthony tracked her down and brought her to my room right after the procedure. A very nice young man named David came in to talk with me post-op and I felt bad sending him away, but I was exhausted as was my wife who at that point had been pretty much awake for 36 hours except for a brief catnap pin the ED. Dr. Welt, Dr. Tuday, Dr. Brewster and Dr. Metcalfe were fantastic. Dr. Metcalfe was very personable and exhibited a caring and compassionate bedside manner while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. Dillon and Elliott were always nearby and attended to anything I needed. Melinda stopped in on the morning of my release just to introduce herself and let me know she would ultimately be handling my discharge. A medication was added and the pharmacy personnel hand-delivered the prescription and provided information and counseling in my hospital room. Melinda covered every aspect of my discharge and made certain that my wife and I were both aware of necessary monitoring over the next several days if the entry site as well as regular weight and blood pressure monitoring once at home to avoid complications. I was discharged just after 6 p.m. and stayed the night nearby ‘just in case’ before returning to my home nearly 5 hours away. Again, I cannot imagine better care and I am baffled by the negative reviews. The next morning before heading home (Saturday) my wife went to the U of U Urgent Care at Sugar House. Again, top notch and very kind and caring staff in the urgent care as well as the pharmacy. She ended up with a bladder irritation, likely brought on from dehydration and her stress over my ordeal. Again, I cannot wrap my mind around the disparaging reviews. The urgent care was larger and more competent than the local hospital where I live. For people who live in or near Salt Lake City I wonder if they know how truly blessed they are to have world-class, cutting edge medical care available in their own back yard. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else!

I was in the ICU following brain surgery and I was in a lot of pain when I woke up. All of the nursing staff were compassionate and very attentive to me! I was checked on every hour and they kept me distracted by talking to me about their families and pets.Dr Rennert and his entire staff including the OR team are simply wonderful! I felt cared for and important even though they had a lot of other patients.

I have to give them 5 stars for speed I had a surgery there and 35 minutes they took me in and put me under never been to a place that fast surgery took less time then they projected. 2 star for insurance and billing they wouldn't allow payment plans so I had to come up with 10k before they performed but that is alright. I would give a minus 5 for patient care they operated and then booted out the door no follow up after surgery it has been 7 months since my surgery and still haven't even had a follow up visit or call to discuss the surgery results I've been kicked back 3 times when I try to make a follow up appointment to test if the surgery worked and everytime I get pushed back.

Whoever is managing the Impatient Pharmacy is a terrible person. My partner works for them, and they're going in for surgery in October and the hospital is trying to deny them medical leave? What do they think is gonna happen? That's a humongous lawsuit if they were to come into work after surgery, as they're not even supposed to be moving. You guys are so stupid.

Although the website gives some guidance during construction, parking is an absolute nightmare. Take public transportation or a Lyft! It says the valet is open 24/7 365 days a year. It was full and closed at 4:30 pm today. I cannot stress enough how chaotic the traffic/parking is during construction. It took me 35 minutes to get out of the parking structure. Study the websites helpful hints, and have someone drop you off. On admission to the emergency room, my daughter was given emergency surgery and all went well, great doctors and nurses. The next day it seemed communication broke down. One staff member thought she was to be discharged, one thought she was waiting for surgery unrelated to her condition and another didn't know and was8 hours to see a doctor. I'm not dragging medical staff, I'm saying communication needs Improvement., At least in her case. Lastly, my daughter holds 2 advanced degrees and works very hard. But she likes tattoos. She was issued a prescription for Narcan for some pretty weak and small amount of painkillers. Her husband ripped off his Achilles tendon and was prescribed OXYCONTIN, no Narcan.. same hospital. Questionable. Great staff.Dont get me wrong I'm eternally greatful to all the Doctors, nurses and staff for saving my kid. Just because you've seen a lot of the worst, don't judge a person for their tattoos

I had my baby here this week and the entire time I felt very well taken care of. The nurses here are the very best. I went in for an induction and Chandra took care of me and my husband all night in l&d. Making sure I was comfortable and encouraging me thru the hard moments. The maternity & nb team was awesome making sure my pain was controlled and my son was taken care of. I didn't feel ignored or judged at all. The discharge process was kind of frustrating but they got us out as soon as possible. If I ever have another baby I'm definitely coming back.

Title: Unjust Treatment and Patient Advocacy Suppression at Moran Eye Center - Cautionary Experience Review: Was a 25 year patient at the Moran, then Booted when I complained about rude staff and poor treatment. Retrograde staff & managers who put patients at risk. My experience at the Moran Eye Center in Utah was incredibly disappointing and deeply concerning. Despite expressing valid concerns about the use of a particular medication and exploring alternative treatment options, I was met with a hostile attitude from the staff of Dr. Shakoor where they sent me rude emails via their charting system. Dr. Shakoor never personally reached out to address my high level of concern. In an effort to receive better care, I attempted to transfer my treatment to another eye doctor within the center, Dr. Vitale. However after I scheduled with Vitale I received a rude & hostile phone call from a scheduling technican for where I was told Dr. Vitale would solely offer the same treatment as Dr. Shakoor, even though alternate treatments were available for my condition. This was not Vitale speaking to me, but some measely technician. Not a proper communication. Rude. Hostile. And they also added as a jab "the appointment type you scheduled was improper and thus it needs to be cancelled in any case." Another interesting point: Only after Leaving the Moran Eye Center did I discover a savings program for a separate medication that could be implanted in my eye. This lack of awareness on the part of Moran staff is highly concerning, as it suggests a lack of thoroughness and attention to detail in their patient care. Thousands and thousands of dollars in drug company money being missed out on. And again the only reason I found out about the drug savings program by the drug manufacturer was by Leaving the Moran. However shortly after leaving Moran for another practice, I received a "My Chart" invitation to return to the Moran Eye Center and self-schedule an appointment. I saw this as an "olive branch." I didn't use the invitation to schedule for over 2.5 months. However, when I used the invitation "just to see" and to maybe check out another doctor there. But then after using the invite & scheduling myself, a few days later I received an angry phone call from a Moran manager who informed me of my banishment from the entire center. Subsequently, I received a written letter confirming this ban. It is important to emphasize that at no point did I ever threaten anyone; I simply expressed my dissatisfaction with the rude staff and subpar treatment I had experienced. My unjust banning from the Moran Eye Center raises serious concerns about patient rights and advocacy within a State-Run facility. By suppressing my attempts to voice concerns and transferring my care, the center has demonstrated a lack of respect for patient empowerment and engagement. It is disheartening to witness a disregard for patient well-being and a failure to address systemic issues that put patients at risk. In light of my experience, I caution others who are considering the Moran Eye Center for their eye care needs. The Moran Eye Center, puts patients health at risk. The manner in which I was treated and banned highlights the center's disregard for patient concerns and its failure to foster a supportive environment for patient advocacy. Every patient deserves respectful and attentive care, and it is regrettable to observe these principles compromised at the Moran Eye Center. As a public, state-run facility affiliated with the University of Utah, this level of dysfunction is deeply concerning. The Moran Eye Center's practices not only undermine patient rights but also jeopardize the well-being of those seeking care.

The nurses and staff were all so kind and helpful. I feel like the doctors that I saw were actually invested in my care instead of just trying to get me out the door. Night and day experience compared to IHC as well. If you have a choice, go to the U and avoid IHC like the plague

Always difficult to schedule an appointment. Also, difficult to assist other providers in scheduling patients with urgent needs. Too many red flags and hoops to jump through. It is too bad as I feel they should set a better example of quality of care offered to their patients and peers.

I would like to give the nurses at this hospital 5 stars because they were truly angels after a serious auto accident. In contrast my husband's bill was so riddled with false billing and fraudulent charges that when we got the insurance company and Medicare involved, after being illegally billed for services that the University did not perform or they were already paid for, we stopped hearing from their awful billing person. She actually told me I would need an attorney to challenge my bill, but apparently this department relies on ignorance and intimidation to get money they are not entitled to. We wonder in this country why regular folks can't get the care they need without becoming homeless. Truth is illegal billing, fraudulent charges should force facilities to be shuttered for good. Unfortunately lawsuits are all they seem to recognize and by this idiot woman challenging us by stating we would need an attorney, well if you don't know what that person did or now does for a living, be careful with you empty threats. Again, the nurses are amazing, the care was the best, but what came after was a pure nightmare, shame on the University's billing department. Thank God for Medicare!

My primary doctor works for the university and I am 100 percent positive that if I was there he would communicate with my family.

The rehabilitation receptionists are not the best. They hold side conversations while answering the phone then hang up on you. Then when you call back they talk over you and hang up on you. Look I don’t have the time or energy to sit here and deal with this. I have a TBI and just want to fix this and move on with my life. Are you going to do your job or not? People are calling to get help so stop making their lives harder please!

Worst experience ever. My husband was admitted with a serious injury. I had to call several times to get info. No one would call me back. The doc said I could visit, and when I arrived the nurse on staff said it’s not allowed and told me there was no record of a doctor in my husband’s room that morning. Shortly after, another nurse told my husband the name of the doctor. On 2 occasions, they told me they were going to do a procedure but never did it and didn’t notify me or my husband of the change in their decision. Really, really messed up. Very disorganized. Every time I call, they tell me they don’t have anyone by that name in their care. Then I have to persist. Eventually they find him. I delivered some things to be taken to my husband, and they didn’t take them to him. I had to call again and ask them to find the things I brought. Also, their policy of visitation not allowed until after the 5th day of stay makes no sense. It’s because of Covid. So why does the 5th day make it any safer than the 2nd day? The authorities require wearing a mask in public, but the mask does not protect in the hospital as it does elsewhere?? It’s a disaster and cannot wait to get my husband out of there.

I had a stomachache virus and the Urgent Care was not open so I was sent to the emergency part of the hospital. Everything from the intake was good, once I moved to the room it went downhill from there. It was 6am and I was told nurses and doctors shifts were changing. I spoke with what seemed like ten different people and I kept having to repeat my symptoms, which was becoming alarming. 1.) I had an EMT come take my blood and start poking my arm a couple time. Then she stated that my vain popped and took off, she didn’t explain what that meant. 2.) Then the first male nurse, while nice, came and poked my veins again. That did not go so well for me. Apparently, I look over and my whole arm and sheet is covered in blood. The nurse apologized and changed the sheets. But the kicker is that he set up my IV. He left and never set up the IV to flow. I was just sitting there for 30 mins, with an IV im my arm which wasn’t flowing anything. 3.) The new nurse team comes in and fixes the issue by flowing the IV and apologizes. I explain my frustration with the two incidents from the EMT and nurse and how I’m really concerned about the delivery of services. 4.) The second nurse tries to put another bag of fluid and this time it’s super painful and my arm has blood underneath the taping. I express my discomfort and he advises he would would bring me water instead. Some time passed, and I was never given said water, and I was discharged. At this point I’m just tired and want to go home and rest. Overall, I was very alarmed at the services and the process and efficiency in the delivery. I now have this big bruise on my arm to remind me of my visit to the emergency room. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly, which I really appreciate, but I need professionals to be on their A game. Explain to the patient what you are doing, introduce yourself and if you don’t know how to draw blood then request training. Don’t let patients feel like test patients. And lastly, I think a little more work needs to go into coordinating staff once they’ve been assigned a bed. I may have gotten there when shifts were ending, but I must have spoken to 8 to 10 people and had to restate what was happening and my symptoms, which I think could have been evaded.

My x girlfriend accessed my records and obtained my covid results before I did, she didn't even work at the main hospital but in the eye center. With this violation of Hipa I don't think anyone should use this hospital. Last I checked it was against the law to share patient information just because you can. I complained about it to the hospital I can provide proof and they have done nothing. She also talks about her patients in a public forum, I wasn't even a patient in the eye center.

Worst ER- took my daughter in for a broken foot and severe knee laceration. Blood was dripping everywhere and I was scrambling to find tissue to wipe it up - this was AFTER her initial consult! Guess the person didn’t notice blood everywhere just that her foot hurt. 4 hours later, we saw a nurse who gave her a boot and then as walking out the door said “oh do you want ME to bandage that knee?” Thanks U- she now has a giant keloid because you failed to stitch or even glue it. I’ll go out to Holy Cross in West Valley next time- they are fantastic!

My Doctor is outstanding. However, I was upset when I awoke after surgery and realized the room was not as clean as I would expect. There were a couple spots of blood on the floor (not mine), there was an old dirty nasal inhaler on the floor (not mine), the bathroom contained two or more barrels stored by the custodian that appeared dirty. The nurse that was assigned me could not physically insert a cath and her attempt was painful for her and me both. I was embarrassed by her probing and I asked her to stop. I was not all impressed with the nurse assigned to me (Alishia) . Sorry, but I have to be honest. The nurse attendants were great.

My husband was brought in to emergency after falling and splitting his head open and scans showed that he had a brain bleed he was in neuro intensive care for a couple of days and the staff there were excellent especially Cameron. Now they have moved him to neuro acute care and it is horrible here. I called this morning about 10:00 to find out about his condition and the lady who answered said she would have his nurse Emily call me back but she never did so after an hour of waiting I drove up here. For lunch he was only brought a sandwich with no drink or sides and I pressed his call button and asked Emily if he could get a drink and maybe some fruit and she said yes I'll go get them and bring them back and she has not come back and I'm really disgusted with her and this unit so far. I don't want her back as his nurse.

U of U healthcare puts all your bills into one place and as you pay it disperses it for you. Even though I was paying on it I was sent to collections which means hurting my credit and my overall quality of life. I came here to better my quality of life and instead have to pay exponentially as collections will cause everything in my future to cost more.

Just called to schedule a covid test, Roosevelt was so kind and helpful - he made sure everything was set up for my test and answered any questions I had.

I would like to thank the ER staff for making me the priority as soon as I entered it. After my surgery they were taking turns round the clocks being the professional as they can be. They made me feel part of their family and definitely recommend anybody with health problems check out this facility.

From finding out I was pregnant I walked in to 5m to get seen with no appointment. They gladly told me to have a seat and would be seen shortly. They take a urine sample to confirm your pregnancy. After that I was seen by a lovely lady that confirmed my pregnancy and pulled out those prenatal vitamins to get started on.

I spent two months here, including a few weeks in ICU, in early 2011 after getting shot five times. Although the experience of getting shot was pretty terrible, the medical care here was top notch and they did a great job of putting me back together, so if you get shot, this is the place! I still have titanium rods in both legs from my injuries, plus I'm minus one kidney and twenty-six inches of gut.I've got some great scars! Out of all my nurses, only one should have been a cleaning lady instead of an RN. I think she was retiring soon and had a short-timer's attitude. On the plus side, the physical therapy staff are some of the best in the country. Also, Thomas, my occupational therapist, was a really cool guy and he went a long way toward helping me get my shot-up butt out of bed and back on my feet. I can't comment on the coffee here because I don't remember getting any with my meals. Heck, it's been almost ten years.

Two badged staff members (one in business attire and one in scrubs) were seen in the entry floor hallway not wearing masks. Also, the police officer at the entry had his mask pulled down below his nose. Not very confidence inspiring during COVID times. Otherwise, the hospital was excellent.

Lack of care is appalling. Please, if your family member is gravely ill or severely injured, make sure that it happens on a weekday. Our family member is in the neuro critical care unit with a limited time to live, but when it comes time to make end of life decisions, we have been told that palliative care, hospice, social workers or case managers are simply not available to help because it is the weekend. Our last hours with our family member have been spent doing their jobs for them and dealing with utter incompetence, conflicting information, and waiting for doctors who tell you they will talk to you...but leave.

Had to go to the ER a couple of time because of a dog bite. The first time it was pretty much fast and easy, but the second time I stayed there from 11 AM to 7:20 PM which is crazy even though only like 4 people where ahead of me when I got there, but somehow they didn’t have any rooms available until 4 PM which is when they transferred me inside to give some vaccines and some blood process. It would be 3 stars but I’ll give it an extra one because the staff that I met was extremely helpful and made me feel good all the time, the person from the finance department as also really nice asking me for my personal data since it was my first time there and made sure to reassure me telling me that I should not worry about the payment and that they’ll give me the best price based on my situation. Hopefully, I don’t have to come back lol (meaning that I don’t want to get sick or injured like this again). But if I do, I’m sure I’ll be on the right hands.

I was so impressed with my visit. Everyone was kind, compassionate, non-judgmental, and thorough. My wait time was minimal, which I wasn't expecting in the middle of a pandemic. My healthcare provider was Adam Abudra, and he was so kind. He listened to everything I had to say, answered my questions clearly and thoroughly, and carefully explained everything to me step by step. I've spent a lot of time in hospitals and in urgent care, and this was hands down the best experience I've ever had.

If I could give the Urology Dept. 10 stars I would. I was in recently for a complex surgery that few doctors in the nation do. It required numerous appointments, lots of phone calls and emails, seven weeks of prep work, communication with many other providers in my state, the surgery, a U of U hospital stay, two weeks in U of U housing, and all of the follow up. I cannot say how impressed my husband and I are with the professionalism, efficiency, compassion, respect, knowledge, and talent we experienced during this very difficult journey. In addition to Dr. Myers, his team, and others in Urology, the U of U Housing Dept. and the nurses, CNA's, and others during my hospital stay were incredible. Billing has also been wonderful! In my situation, the U of U really did save my life.

Besides the construction outside. The hospital is beautiful. Incredible art, mostly nature shots of Utah. Wide open, lovely gift shop, a wonderful piano, a Starbucks for all your caffeine cravings, a great cafeteria, friendly and helpful staff, and pretty decent doctors. They are honest and kind and take your best interest to heart instead of their pocketbooks. If the construction ever ends, it'll be a much more enjoyable experience getting to the hospital and navigating among the many different buildings. I'm a wheelchair user and while attempting to access the hospital recently I was directed by construction workers to a path that ended in a gravel pit which I got my chair stuck in. I was right outside the main enterance. None of the construction workers offered to help. None of the security guards nearby even acknowledged my presence. None of the people driving passed spared a second glance. Only a single good samaritan was willing to help and it was a woman who, combined with my weight still didn't outweigh my wheelchair. We had to break our backs to dig out the rocks and push my chair up an incline by ourselves when a single construction worker could have done it with ease. Hospitals should be accessible, always. It's unacceptable how dangerous this construction work is to pedestrians and especially disabled patients needing care. There should at least be one designated safe pathway and or sidewalk to the main entrance of the hospital. Not having this puts lives at risk.

The doctor and staff were professional and friendly.  The facilities were immaculate.  The lobby and waiting area (although I didn't really wait) were pristine.  Now, I'm sure if my issues were more serious, it probably would have taken more time.  BUT, the Doctor and staff were so efficient that it would not matter!!!!

I was treated so well when I stayed there. Dr. Fay, nurses Chelsea, Terri, Aubrey, Liz and the Chapel lady Sandra were wonderful people! They were there for me! They cared about my life, my well being and were awesome people. I'm so thankful they took good care of me. I appreciate it!

ER wait times suck, but the staff here care and are very attentive for our needs while our stay here. They were able to diagnose and treat my wife's illness that another hospital refused to try to find answers for. Grateful we came here so that my wife can receive a full recovery

spent 13 hours total in the ER and never saw the same person twice. While all the staff were friendly and competent, my diagnosis should have been straightforward and all the testing was standard. There is clearly a big issue with the efficiency of their system to the detriment of the patients well being. Also while i was there a man who had been discharged had his wallet lost by the people who had taken it to store it “safely” in a locker so id give them another 1 star review for him if i could.

Worst ER. I had been throwing up blood from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and after they drew blood I’ve been sitting with stomach pain for the last 5 hours. You could seriously go to college and get a doctorate degree and fix yourself before any of the staff even communicates any info to you. I believe it shouldn’t even be called an ER when emergency implies speed and attentiveness instead you get staff that just hangs around and chats among themselves as you hope to be treated UPDATE: still nothing has been communicated so I got up to ask how long it would be and no useful information was given so I decided to leave, as urgent care centers open in a few hours and the staff is 1000x better than any of the children working the emergency room at the U
