In short: Old, run down, dirty and on top a construction work in the neighbouring building. The apartments looked beautiful online but the reality was that they gave us an apartment right next to construction work. This firstly meant that it was incredibly loud from 6am on and we barely slept through our stay and secondly the promised view was gone as the new building slowly obstructed it. Additionally if one is used to the high standards and quality of Airbnbs or other hotels don’t book here. Barely anything was provided (no coffee machine nor a kettle etc) and the cleanliness was absolutely poor - the carpet had sprinkles of sauce and blood and other things on it. The bathroom had cracks and parts of it were mouldy. The receptionists were ridiculous and unfriendly when we arrived. Nothing was explained like how to get to the pool etc. The gym is old, dirty, poor ventilation and the devices are obviously second hand. The whirlpool has tiles missing and the handle is gone. It’s dangerous and a health hazard! Never again.

This was an extraordinarily disappointing stay. If it was a cheap place to stay, it would still have been rough, but at this price - stay somewhere else. To start with, we had to check in late, so we contacted reception FOUR times to arrange late check in. They assured us it would work out, but after multiple texts with the caretaker to get instructions, we finally received a photo and instructions to open the lock box. Which, upon arriving very late at night after flight delays, we discovered was behind locked entry doors. We rang the after hours line - no answer. We tried ringing the caretaker, who answered on the third try. He did not appear, but a random security guard who saw the pantomime unfolding took pity on us and swiped us into the building. When we arrived on our floor, we were greeted with a foul odour (which turned out to be pervasive across the entire building). The apartment itself is both dirty (marks on every walls, mould in the showers and dust on all furniture) and very poorly appointed. The furniture is cheap, ugly and in terrible repair. The staff we encountered are both unhelpful and incompetent. To round things out and confirm that we were not the only unfortunate travellers left unable to check in successfully, upon arriving home after dinner at 10:30 pm, we encountered another hapless guest in the lift. He had a room key and a parking pass, but no swipe card to allow him up onto his floor. He was similarly unsuccessful in gaining any assistance from the staff, and we left him with the personal phone number of the caretaker. Hopefully he made it into his room before long. The upsides were the bed, which was clean and comfortable, and the location. In a city filled with good places to stay at this price, we recommend choosing anywhere but Ivy and Eve.

When we arrived my 2 young children and I went in the spa and then back to the room for a shower to notice our towels hadn't been changed! The soaps and body wash were empty/used from the last people. They sent fresh towels up and only left 3 when there was 4 of us. We were given breakfast vouchers as an apology but $600+ for 2 nights definitely disappointing and not worth your money. The apartment was nice enough, does need some fixing up as the floorboards were all lifting and the carpets were stained and the hall way and apartment had a horrible odour

Overall my experience here was amazing with the room being cleaned just before my check in and all the amenities being ready for use (such as the kitchen appliances and the tv.) The price is right for this accomodation as it provides an amazing experience with the many entertainment options that are simply a few minutes walk away. It is also very close to many public transportation options such as a bus terminal being around 5 mins walk and a train station around 8 mins walk away.

I like to investigate and look at reviews before I select a place to stay. This property had a mix of good and bad reviews and I can see why. We were here for a mix of work and family holiday. This place has a potential to be good however their lack of attention to detail and maintenance really let's them down. The place needs new carpets fresh paint and new furniture. We sat in a chair and almost got stabbed by a screw which sticking out of the chair. The carpets are dirty and dusty, our allergies flares the bathroom sinks were blocked and even the basic task of brushing our teeth was hard. The furniture was dusty and not wipped down. We had to do that ourselves. We re washed the dishes and when we asked for more toiletries or laundry detergent we were advised that they would have to check with management. If the apartment is not to be serviced then maybe having a vacuum and mop in the apartment so the guest can do it would be great and not to use this to  charge families more for a clean. We had a two week stjay as per the fine print we requested our room get cleaned on day 7 and even though we specifically askim for a mop and vacuum all they did was a vacuum showers and sinks were not cleaned, mop was not done and some of my favourite diamonds looking arts and crafts went missing. The pool is freezing and spa is also the same. As another guest had decided the temperature is like when you leave you tea for a half hour and it Luke warm. There is also a lot of construction around the building. The positives it's walking distance to everything. South bank city center grocery shops and has a great coffee shop down stairs. Would we stay here again answer is no.

Not at all worth what they charge! Only saving grace was the good location. Furnishings in the room were cheap and uncomfortable, spa was closed without notice, there is construction going on either side, the entire floor we stayed on smelled of alcohol/rubbish and service throughout was pretty poor!

Unfortunately, these apartments are tired, rundown and dirty. I had previously stayed at Ivy + Eve in 2019, and my experience was fantastic. This time around, our apartment was not clean, offered little by way of furnishing/amenities and the checkin/reception service was dismal (it took almost 50 minutes for check-in, and the staff were unhelpful when we had asked to store luggage prior to check-in). I would not recommend these apartments, nor would I stay here again. In addition, these apartments are expesnive and do not offer value for money. One star for the pool facility and one star for the location.

Very poor housekeeping. I stayed for work along with ~20 others and most of us found the same issues - the beds were made and towels and toiletries replaced, but otherwise it seemed as if we had moved into the previous tenants' dirt. The entire room seems to have been fitted out from Kmart, the toiletries were not worth using, and the previous tenant had left an entire bag of garlic in a drawer and nobody had bothered to remove it. Nice view and close to my work so I didn't complain. Just felt like we were getting AirBnB service (i.e. no service)

Booked a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment for two parents and two teenagers. Cost over $1600 for three nights (including parking). The couch smelt like it was dead and would never fit four guests. The TV remote didn't work properly and had to turn it off at the wall each time. The space between the two beds was grubby and could have used a good vacuum. The main bed had a sheet and an empty doona cover. Not a blanket in sight. The ironing board cover looked about twenty years old and was ripped. Patched up holes, unpainted, on the walls. One star for the excellent view and one star for the location. Certainly won't consider staying there again for that price.

Spend top dollar and get room 21705 of the Eve tower. What we got in return... 1. Marks all over the walls, looks trashy and unappealing. 2. Bathroom door handle falling off. 3. Bugs.. bugs coming from the drains in the bathroom. Due to the drains not being cleaned correctly. Bathroom door had to be shut at all times to avoid bugs entering the rest of the unit. 4. Glass Shower screen not aligned and shutting correctly (a smashed glass door awaiting to occur, I'm sure I know who they will blame when it breaks) 5. Toilet designed for a midget with the toilet roll holder mounted near your ankles and not mounted to the wall correctly. 6. Bedroom.. No fitted sheets. With a doona that looks like it has been used for 30 years just between two sheets. 7. wake up to a puddle of water each morning from the fridge that leaks. 8. wait for an elevator for 10 minutes. Other family members had different rooms, and they all had similar issues. Nothing more needs to be said.

DO NOT STAY here very unhappy with accommodation for the price we expected far more than the stench of rubbish in the room! It was sickening, we changed rooms and floors but it still remained. Maybe we should have reported to the Health Department. And do not believe photos on website very old photos rooms are poorly maintained and furnished. The desk staff were helpful but appear very hamstrung by Management! The booking staff were extremely unhelpful and completely inflexible this should have been a warning really. Be warned.

Very nice place, lovely location as it was close to everything - popular spots like the art gallery were within easy walking distance. All the amenities were convenient and accessible. The rooms good overall, however more attention to the cleaning would have been appreciated.

Did locked out my self so went to reception to ask for help. It was 6:30pm today. The counter was shut but I saw a lady went inside so I said to her I locked myself I need a help. she said counter is shut and I’m finished… If she doesn’t help me out who else can help this?! very very disappointing experience.

The apartment my family and I checked into was absolutely disgusting - the apartment smelt wet and when we looked in the bathroom the entire skirting of the shower was covered in mould! the drain in the bathroom sink was black and so dirty. The floors were dirty with hair and other rubbish throughout. Was a massive disappointment and absolutely not worth the money! Book elsewhere.

Husband and I had a really comfortable stay with our 2 yr old. Spacious one bedroom apartment with great layout and balcony+sun room, king bed, large bathroom and laundry. Has on site parking. Great wifi. Great location, walking distance to shopping district over the river, streets beach and many surrounding restaurants. Would stay again and would recomend.

Ivy & Eve is excellent! The Housekeeping Manager went out of her way to fix my computer issue. Above and beyond! The apartments are well designed, modern, and very clean. Highly recommended!

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 4 nights. I nearly cancelled our free cancellation booking after reading a few negative reviews about cleanliness. We are glad we didn’t. Our apartment was modern, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. Would also add that it was great value for money compared to other apartments. Perfect location too. We could not fault Ivy & Eve apartments and would definitely return.

Great place really close to Brisbane City, shopping and restaurants. The apartments are 5 star with pool and modern interiors

Stayed here for work. Clean, modern and plenty of eateries close handy. I used the gym everyday and it was reasonably well appointed and well maintained which is really unusual for motel gyms. The manager leant me their own iPhone cord. The staff at the front were helpful and friendly. The young Italian bloke at the front was always happy, a little goofy and super helpful. Well done young man. Oh and we got a free bottle of wine in check in. Not sure why, just did and it was consumed with gusto. Highly recommended.

Great experience being here on a work holiday. Room was nice, only downside was the bed was two singles pushed together to make a double. Very close to the train station and was within walking distance of everything I needed. When I arrived room service had missed my room, told reception and went out for an hour and by the time I was back it was perfect. That kind of stuff happens but was really great to see how quickly they sorted it.

Loved my stay at Ivy and Eve, it was very central to the train station, shops and convention centre. I had no issues with the service and had a really lovely view from my room. If I’m in Brisbane again, I would highly consider staying at Ivy and Eve again.

I stayed here a few years ago for work, everything was lovely, had a great room with. Fantastic view. It was paradise… UNTIL! I had a parcel delivered to the hotel, and it was stolen in the foyer, I asked the staff at reception if they could help me find the parcel and they said they couldn’t help… it was a gift sent to me from a dear friend and still to this day I don’t know what the package was. :( Despite this I’m still giving them 4 stars, as the housekeeping staff were impeccable and the views I mean nothing gets better than looking over Brissy as the sunsets.

Close to Southbank and clean apartment. Disappointed that a $200 holding deposit had to be made and it takes up to 10 days to get this money back. If I had of known this I would have booked else ware!

Accommodation & Staff were outstanding! Location is perfect for Brisbane CBD, South Bank and West End. Requested high floor, that was granted (and noted on Check-In). Room was very clean and had everything you would want. Internet was great. Had a Smart TV, so access to Netflix was perfect (although it wouldn't connect to Internet at first, called reception they provided me with "help desk number", called and got immediate rectification - again with outstanding service). If I had to pick on something it would be the lounge, it didn't really lend itself for a couple to get comfortable for a long movie, but for general TV, all good. I would definitely stay at Ivy & Eve again.

Great apartment close to everything with a very helpful team on reception . The apartment was clean, well equipped and had a lovely comfy bed. There was construction close by so we spoke with reception about the need for a quiet room and were given one that was whisper quiet on a high floor. We will stay again.

great value apartments. everything was super clean and tidy. Staff were lovely. Beds were very comfy. pillows were a little hard for my liking but some people love that. the recreational area was absolutely fantastic! kids loved the pool area and it was a great area to celebrate our daughters birthday with family joining us. plenty of big tables available! the lifts take forever to arrive but a minor inconvenience. Bathroom is a little squishy but washer and dryer included in was a great surprise. we had a lovely view over west end and I assume no matter what room you got it would be a great city view. heard nothing of the neighbours so sound proofing is on point. would 100% recommend staying at these apartments 😍

I made a booking for 1 adult, 4 children with the room configuration of 1 King and 1 Queen bed. I have just called to confirm this and they have now told me there is the possibility of me getting a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 single beds in it?? Ended up with a queen and two singles, so bedding worked out :) Place is clean and great views. Could do with some air conditioning in the lobby and in the lift though. And they need to retire the pool.

Great location and lovely 2 bedroom apartment. Very helpful staff on reception. Everything was clean and in good order. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately pool was closed but weather was cool so not really an issue. Close to restaurants and supermarket. Easy walk from South Brisbane station. Very close to the convention centre where my conference was being held.

Great location and nice pool. However, everything was feeling a little tired and run down. The hallway on level 18 smelt so bad we had to hold out breaths each time we left our room.

My company booked that accommodation since it is very close to the office. It is great. It is a shame I stayed there only one night. The appartment I got in level 22 was great. Very spacious and with everything you need for a short stay. Check in was smooth. Make sure you arrive before 5:30pm. After that time I believe they'll put your keys in the safe. The recreational area is amazing. Gym, swimming, spa and lounge with TV. A great place to stay.

Late check in was hard, make sure to call security to let you in, there's a key safe inside the foyer. Overall neat and tidy rooms. Decent location, about a 5min walk to the main area.

We had what was meant to be a 2 night stay here. The apartments themselves were nice and in a good area, handy to both Southbank and West End. The issues I've had is with the customer service. Firstly, the booking was made for a 1 bedroom apartment, despite confirming multiple times it was for a 2 bedroom. I had asked them to price-match a rate from booking.com, which they did, but put us in the wrong room. When I got my confirmation, I responded that it should be a 2bedroom, but was text back saying a 2 bedroom is more and I only booked a 1 bedroom. So, I had to call them back again, which after 10 mins on the phone they finally corrected. Not a huge deal, but a lot more stuffing around than I would have hoped. Because of the lockdown, I was due a refund of the 1 night I didn't stay. However, it's now been 3 weeks of following up, and the wrong amount was refunded, etc. So, overall, the admin side has been painful. I probably wouldn't stay there again just due to this. The apartment and location was nice, though.

I needed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so this was it. There are not many options with this configuration in the area. It is in a great location to enjoy West End and walk across the bridge to the city. There was nowhere in the room to work on a laptop. The only table and chairs were for dining and there was no powerpoint near them. The living area was very small so I can't see how they could reconfigure; so not good for a business traveller.

Enjoyed the stay here two months ago but this visit was perfection. What made it great apart from the perfect location to enjoy the great food and bars nearby was the smiling and obliging nature of the gorgeous man at reception. Set the tone. Our two bedroom apartment was fantastic. Thanks for the stay!

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The room was dirty, smelled very heavily of cigarette smoke and overlooked a construction site. Carpet in the lounge was disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The shower didn’t drain properly and to top it We were refused a refund when we left early out of disgust.

  • 1/5 B C. 1 year ago on Google
Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone. While the rooms are modern, there were countless problems with the room. Firstly it was clear the housekeeper had not checked the room thoroughly as the place was filthy. On top of this there were dirty, smelly socks under the bed and mouldy bread in the cupboard. Our fridge was leaking all through the apartment when we entered and the shower could only be run in 1 minute intervals as there was no working drainage and the shower would overflow if not turned off. The general cleanliness (or lack there of) was absolutely appalling. When checking out, we were never asked how our stay was or if everything was ok, however I told the man upon checkout all about the issues and there was no apology or any kind of attempt at resolution. It was so disappointing paying much more than other places in the area for a room to get away for a few nights when there was so much wrong. Personally I would like a partial refund as we certainly did not stay in a place similar to the expectation provided to us from the website. I am eager to hear from you as to how you plan to resolve this with me as I am a very unhappy, dissatisfied customer.

I have stayed before and double rooms have been lovely, this time I booked another double room and ended on top of a construction site. Living area was filthy and furniture was either broken or very ordinary. The rooms had a completely different feel, as in extremely budget and small. The pool area and spa area was closed due to glass the day prior which we were never informed until check in even though we had seen reception earlier that morning. No apologies no excuse as to why we were given such a horrible room, we had booked directly through eve and Ivy apartments and paid top dollar as we were really just wanting a little bit of luxury for a couple of days inner city. Not a pleasant experience at all very disappointing.

The hot water hasn't worked properly on multiple occasions. More than 5 times in 6 months we've been without hot water at normally showering hours (8-10pm). The restaurant at the front routinely blocks the front doors (preventing safe exit). The cleaners are good and hard working. But clearly forced to leave by 10pm, so have to kick you out before 'closing time' to clean and lock up. Pay them for an extra hour so they can clean and not kick people out before 10pm! The listed close time...

Used Airbnb to book and the whole experience was easy. The room was clean, fresh, with a view. The pool and spa were lovely. Had easy access to city, transport etc. Good dining options close by.
