A beautiful place with an outstanding history. Looks like a church on the inside, but it was actually a historical home of a 1920s aristocrat. They do some awesome live tours there and the donation is very reasonable. I highly recommend visiting. Be sure to see the tower, the views are breathtaking!

As part of the ACCESS program, you can use your SNAP card for $2 admission. You have to reserve a 1 hour time slot ahead of time. I loved the combination of art and history here, all centered around religious beliefs. I could've stayed in the museum for longer than an hour because I loved the beauty of the stained glass windows and mosaics. I also walked the grounds and around the Bryn Athyn Cathedral; all the flowers are blooming!

This place is a hidden gem! It’s mind blowing to see a medieval castle in the heart of Pennsylvania. The first floor is open to everyone (you can make $5 donation) but the other floors and the gallery are accessible with the guided tour only ($15 per person). The tour needs to be booked in advance. But I can highly recommend it because it is very interesting, informative and entertaining. Also they held seasonal exhibitions. For example, during Christmas you can check out beautiful collection of Nativities.

Glad we were able to join their lively guided tour of Glencairn this spring. They are closing the museum for 1 + years to install air conditioning. They plan to do outreach and virtual tours, and there's an Audio/QR code tour of the grounds we enjoyed. The Pitcairn family (with their 9 children) were big fans of birds and sheep. They're featured in so many sculptures, stonework and mosaics that you can spend the day on a scavenger hunt for them. Glencairn is renowned for its stained glass and the cloister courtyard is another highlight. Their belltower offers a full view of the Philly skyline.

Beautiful museum. You need to reserve tickets in advance and it is a timed tour. There are several tours available and a description of each can be found on their website. You can also obtain passes from the local libraries. Photography is welcomed as long as you don't use a flash or tripod.

Wonderful experience on the backpack tour... The kids enjoyed it very much. Recommended for ages 6-10. The museum also offers other tours. This place is a hidden gem about 15 miles from Philadelphia and is a National Historic Landmark. The view of the city skyline from the top of the tower is great! Glass blowing demo is very cool, and the entire staff is super friendly and helpful. Good collection of medieval Christian art as well as art from Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Highly recommended for a day trip. Nearby cathedral is also a great stop.

Very impressive mansion built by Raymond Pitcairn in the 1930's, it looks like a cathedral/cloister, beautiful building. It is between Philadelphia and Trenton in the countryside. I enjoyed the cloister. It's amazing what the Pennsylvania countryside has to offer.

Beautiful spot, great view of the city if you pay for the elevator ride. It was $5 a person to go to the top, and the views were great! There's a free area below with tons of artifacts, primarily medieval weapons and statues. The inside area is made of impressive masonry and carpentry. It's worth it for the free area alone imo, but the view really is the cherry on top.

This place has a beautiful history about family's efforts to understand once culture and expand that with others. A must visit beautiful museum filled with expressions of Christmas across the world. Every thing is taken care with details to attention. They did not have all the floors open but it was a memorizing experience nonetheless.

No video or photo can capture the historical magnificence of Glencairn Museum, the former residence of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn and their 9 children. This astounding, GORGEOUS, castle is located in #MontgomeryCountyPA and is a definite must-see.

Wonderful and charming castle to visit on your day trip. Make sure to have a good camera with you as you are guaranteed to have beautiful views! The tour may feel like a bit too boring, but it's the only way to see the rooms inside so just bear with it. You get to know some historical facts which was good enough for me. I reserved the tickets but also saw people buying them on site, so it looked like it was fine as well.

It was beautiful. A lot of interesting info and I especially loved seeing God's name, Jehovah, on the Hebrew plaque in the chapel! 🤗 So much to see and learn here. And while I do not share the same religion it was interesting.

Really cool museum. only $5 entrance fee but only get to see 1 room. Can't go to other exhibits due to covid. Recommend going when they open other exhibits back up.

I have teenagers, so sometimes it's hard to find things they'll enjoy. They love Glencairn! It's something different for the kids to enjoy.

The tour through Glencairn Museum was wonderful. Our tour guide Amy, was very informative and pleasant. The hour just flew by. I liked the fact that we were able to wander around the main floor after the tour and their were also people there to give us more information about the museum and the family.

Great place to go 4 if you're a fan of mid evil times(T.V. show last kingdom really made me want to go). I got to learn and take the kids, my 5-year-old son liked it.

Beautiful place with so much rich history! We have been 3 times now and always see/learn something new! Great for the whole family (but best for older kids/adults)

Apparently, you’re not allowed “props” on the grounds for photography. I checked the website for photography guidelines, followed them all rigidly (ie no tripods or flash, non-commercial, etc) but was told to put my stuff in my car because I brought a picture frame with me to photograph. Beautiful grounds, but a strange code you have to follow that is not listed anywhere on their website or in person. Guy was friendly about turning us away, at least, I guess. Still, completely ruined what was going to be a shoot I’d planned for a bit. Won’t be returning.
