We adopted a puppy recently from North Shore Animal League and brought her in for a follow up to the Pet Health Center; the Vet and staff were very friendly, answered all of our questions and took great care of our puppy. They’re awesome, I highly recommend them!!

My Wife an I adopted a puppy from North Shore Animal League. Brought him to the Veterinarian for a visit (he ate something that didn’t agree with him) the staff was very helpful, professional and thorough. The visit was covered and the adoption fee was very reasonable. Great staff great experience and THE BEST DOG!!

Always the best place to bring our cats and dogs who are in need of a routine checkup or emergency medical situation. You can rest assured that your fur baby will receive the best care by all staff members. I've had my Pomeranian treated for diabetes and related conditions to my Chihuahua requiring emergency care after being struck by a car. She was triaged, cleaned up and held overnight for observation. I picked her up the following morning and she was perfect.

The most amazing staff and crew you could imagine. Everything is set up for you to seamlessly meet and adopt a wonderful pet. A one stop shop with the veterinary hospital right next to the adoption center, everything is extremely affordable, convenient and they take the best care possible with your loved ones. I couldn’t ever imagine going to a pet store after my wonderful experience with north shore. They have so many puppy mill rescues it’s guaranteed you will fall in love with one. It's heartwarming to witness a rescue animal’s growth and transformation. Their ability to adapt, learn, and become an integral part of your life is truly remarkable. I’m enjoying every single moment with my new pup. I love her more and more each day.

My mother and I are black women who have had an absolutely terrible experience at this shelter! We came in looking for a puppy to be an emotional support animal for myself and decided on a 2 month old female chihuahua. After a long adoption process in which they suggest you leave while they review your application, I received a phone call. The woman over the phone said that my application would be denied because my mother and I both work full time and would be gone during the day. She also mentioned we would be denied due to our address being a NYCHA property, which is false. My building is an affordable housing building filled with plenty of dogs. My phone disconnected during the call so my mother and I walked back into the shelter where we spoke with a very rude woman named SANDY. She informed us that we would be denied due to our history of choosing not to spay our previous dogs, which is not what the first woman had said over the phone. When my mother asked for clarity we were met with micro aggressive responses in which she said she would not “go back and forth” or “repeat herself”. She barely let my mother finish a sentence before she would cut her off and talk to us like children. Ultimately we felt defeated and stepped to the side so we could contact our ride out front. Not even one minute later, SANDY came from around the counter and said she was escorting us out! When we kindly asked her if she would give us a moment, she called security on us!! My mother was so distraught by having to experience racism like this that she actually cried. We stood out front for a moment to collect ourselves and the staff were monitoring and watching like hawks the entire time. Very disturbing end to a day that was supposed to be a happy one. SANDY ought to be ashamed of herself for treating us the way she did and treating us like aggressors when we were very respectful, just trying to get an understanding.

This is a place that truly loves animals. The doctors and technicians are knowledgeable and caring. They treat the animals with respect. Can't ask for more then this! Highly recommend North Shore Animal League for both the medical facilities as well as for the adoption centers. I got both my cats from here and they are GREAT cats.

It’s a best place for solving any medical issues for your pet! Thank you for all Doctors and vet assistance and who works there. I have a very character dog. We never had any problems, just wanted say thank you. The area where clinic and wellness center are located very clean and dogs friendly. Staff is very professional and provides excellent service. Even me feel comfortable to be there with my very very character dog. It’s an important thing for me. If my dog happy me more happy 😃 unfortunately I didn’t take photos in clinic it was done after😂

Highly recommend North Shore Animal League Pet Health Center! I live in Queens and have never gone anywhere else after adopting my dog from there 9 years ago. They are so professional, caring, knowledgeable and all-around fantastic. Through all stages of my dog's life, they have given great advice. My dog has had many services there from surgery to all the basics like issues with allergies, skin growths, teeth/gum issues, etc. She is doing great and I trust them with anything that comes up. Top notch! Also - everyone there from the doctors, assistants, office staff - are all excellent. It's very well organized and runs smoothly. Kudos and thank you to the team!

Fantastic place, staff is kind and friendly. I had adopted a kitten and they made a few months ago and the process was smooth. I have now visited their vet for my kitten to get spay. The visit was very professional and once it was done they explained everything to do to care for her.

I've been a supporter of North Shore Animal League America for years. The first TWO sister who I ever adopted (who've since passed on), turned out to be the Best felines, ever. The Veterinarians are very good & caring more about the animals, than filling their wallets. There have been 1-2 whom I was not 100% comfortable with (as in most clinics), so I stay with the one(s) I do! After having lost my previous furry feline, in Aug 2021, I thought it was time to re-adopt.. I LOVE these 2 baby boys! The care that's been given to them while they awaited their forever home is beyond measure: GREAT! If I was an animal there, I may have chosen to stay; it's resort-like! And everyone who works there is there with their heart and the animals interests as #1! The facility is IMMACULATE! There is absolutely NO odor from the many who are housed there. To me, there is none other! NSALA does an extensive check before letting one of the 4-leggeds go into any home. They do not just give to anyone! And I LIKE THAT A LOT! Thank you NSALA! 🐾😻

Make your appointments well in advance because they are often overbooked. We adopted from NSAL and have kept coming back to their wellness center because we trust the care here to be based on best practices and free of exploitation

I called NSAL a few weeks ago asking for an appointment because my dog was really sick and the vet that I took him to wanted $600 just for X-rays and the interpretation of the X-rays. I was advised by North Shore Animal League that they are no longer taking patients, but the person on the phone Nick heard me so distraught that he asked me to hold and he went above and beyond for me to be able to get an appointment for my dog. My dog is my support animal and my companion and it meant the world to me that they took him in and made him feel better. When I got there I was still extremely upset and crying not knowing what was wrong with my dog and every single person there was extremely compassionate and helpful. I will be forever grateful at the treatment that my baby and I both received by North Shore Animal League. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you so much to NSAL and their staff!

The veterinarians and technicians are the best! They all care about the animals that are brought to them for health care. When one of my dogs died a few years ago I got a sympathy card from the veterinarian. Their prices are lower than a private vet and I feel that they are more caring. Will always bring my dogs to North Shore Animal League of America.

My recent visit to the Pet Health Center with my 8 yr old buddy Dunkin was terrific. It was the first time he's been examined by the vet students and the centers very experienced and thorough vets. They were so professional, friendly, informative and eager to help. In the future, if you have an opportunity to visit for this collaboration, don't hesitate. They were all so amazing!!

Outstanding! Our new dog Dakota has taken to us like he's always been part of the family. This 20 lbs. two-year-old is a gem. The folks over at NSAL have been great. Sean, James and Cindy in particular were all great assisting us through the process. The facility is clean, well run and well staffed. Thank you all for what you do. Keep up the great work!

I actually volunteer at NSAL. I can honestly say its been the most rewarding experience in my entire life. The hospital is great and very through. Most importantly, if you use them, the proceeds go to taking care of the animals that need homes.

I love coming here for my cats wellness visits! The waiting and exam rooms are always clean, and every staff member I've ever encountered has been so kind. The doctors and assistants are always professional and courteous. I never feel like my visit is rushed and my questions are always answered amazingly. My cat Miso is always treated with care, she's so comfortable with whoever is taking care of her during her visits! Thank you to everyone involved in making this pet health center great!

Everyone at the Pet Health Center at North Shore Animal League are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The Vets and Technicians are the best. You get quality care for your pets at a price you can afford. I have always had a positive experience with the people there even when I have had to put a sick pet to sleep. They are all caring people who work for the Animal League.

I’ve adopted 4 babies over the years. 2 cats in 1990(17 years) a lab mix in 2006(15 years) and just got a new baby boy lab mix. Have had nothing but positive experiences. Couldn’t be more grateful for the years of joy and unconditional love afforded to me by north shore! The vet services are exceptional and they make me and my dog feel so comfortable. I will continue to use them as my dogs primary vet and highly recommend them, especially to new pet owners!

Very happy with the assistance you have provided for our Candy who was adopted from your organization. Every time we have brought Candy for her vaccines we have been very pleased. She is a happy dog.

NSAL health center for pets is a fantastic place. Everyone working there seems to love animals and they are taking excellent care of our beloved dog Bear, and have done with prior pets. I can not recommend them highly enough. In addition, when you adopt a pet from North Shore they help the dogs/cats that were adopted there. Our boy Bear was adopted 11.5 years ago from North Shor, he is an amazing dog, and when I called and said he had heart problems they told me to come in asap and they took care of him. We are a very grateful family - grateful for our beloved Bear, and for such great medical care when it is needed! I really trust them. Thank you!

I am always happy with the care at the NSALA. Murphy needed tooth extractions in July and they did a great job. And yesterday, I called and got him seen for urgent issue regarding his hip. He is feeling better and also got his rabies shot! Murphy is not a big fan of NSALA, but I sure am.

Great place ,very clean ,staff great, nice ,This not a negative about the place but i was alittle disappointed about the price of flea pill and heartworm even with a discount. I adopted 4 puppies from north shore every one of them lived over 12 years.i highly recommend North shore health ctr .

Made an appointment about a week ago via telephone. Get a call back the day of that said appointment saying they aren't taking any new clients. That should've been addressed when we made the appointment. Had to request time off work for this. Time has passed and had to search for another place. Train your new employees better as animals well being should be taken into consideration. This exam was a big deal.

I adopted a beautiful blind kitty, Tony, a few months ago and I have been to the hospital/vet 2 times since(routine). All staff members were attentive, knowledgeable and very caring, some even came to say hello to Tony because they remember him from his rehab days (prior to adoption). Everyone from the front desk to the security have been incredibly wonderful. THANK YOU North Shore Animal League for making the adoption and medical visits so pleasant.
