My husband loves pizza and it's what he wanted for his birthday. A friend recommended this spot to us so when we were in town visiting my parents, it was my husband's choice for his birthday meals. My parents, husband, and I shared: - Meat & Cheese Plate - Speck Pie (large) - Half Diavolo/Half Green Pie (large) The pizzas are really good. The speck pie was definitely my favorite. I love lemon on a pizza and that with the hot honey and pistachios was a great combo. I'd recommend getting a large and splitting it between two people. It's the right amount of food and you save a lot of money over getting two smalls.

One of the very best (if not the best) pizza places I've been to in the Cleveland area. Thin-ish crust, crispy & delicious! It's cooked in a very hot oven, which you can see the leopard spotted crust. A variety of unique flavors are available as well as custom options of your choice. I can't wait to go back! One tip - it can get busy, so be prepared to be patient. It's worth it though!

Hands down the best pie in Cleveland. Paper thin crispy bottom with a yeasty, tender outer crust. Amazing. The green pie is my favorite but I can’t imagine anything would be bad here. The bartender also makes some of the best cocktails in the area. Gotta try a Paper Plane or Aperol Spritz to go with your pizza.

Decided to check this place out on a Thursday night about an hour or two before closing. It is good to see that it was still clearly busy and pizzaa are moving in and out of the ovens. Going to start with the good and great about this place. The decor was awesome. It was super clean there and our server was more than accommodating. The music was upbeat and a thousand times different than what you would hear in a normal restaurant which was really cool. Ordered a small Margherita pizza with a side of sauce and it was absolutely amazing. It was a thinner crust pizza but not too thin so that was great. Pizza came out hot from the oven and was one of the best pizzas. I've had a long time. Okay so here's the bad.. and I dingged them one star for this cuz it's not a good look at all. Even though everyone was super friendly and helpful I was pretty put off by the fact that a large number of them were openly drinking beer and doing shots. I'm not sure what that was all about but if I was the owner or the manager I think I would have a problem with my people doing that while also running an oven, making pizza and serving customers

Thursday night date night and we decided to try ll Rione for a salad and pizza . We dined in ,the atmosphere was amazing and the service was on point. Had a house salad we wish it had more than just iceberg lettuce and for an Italian place just capers and goat cheese was a little plain. The waitress kept our water full . We ordered just a large cheese pizza which was very good , not the best we've had but definitely top 10. If you like new york style pizza its a must try , we will definitely be back .

The best pizza I’ve ever had!! I have been a harsh critic on pizza all over the country and this is the best I’ve found yet! If you are anywhere remotely close you have to come try it. Perfect crust, amazing tangy sauce, and super fresh ingredients it’s hard to beat this pizza. Can’t wait to come back!

Super lively with great pizza and wine selection. I'm not a local and came here during my most recent visit. I was thinking pizza would be good to try out and was recommended this place. The place was PACKED and was quoting an hour and half to get a table. Bar is open seating and I was lucky that when I went 2 people got up. Fantastic thin crust pizza! The flavors mixed perfectly and couldn't ask for more. I had the Speck with a side of pesto. White base with sweetness from the honey. Not your typical pizza but it was delicious! Paired with a glass of red wine and I was happy I found this place!

This restaurant is wonderful. The location, ambience, staff, and food were just wonderful. We were in town last weekend for a concert and the R+RHOF. After the hall we got on Google maps looking for a pizza place. We chose Il Rione based on the reviews and location. We are from North Alabama and we really don't have neighborhoods like this. This is such a cool location. When we arrived we were told there was about an hour wait. My wife struck up a conversation with some other people and he strongly suggested it was very worth the wait. About 15 minutes later they called us to let us know our table was ready. Our drink orders were taken promptly. Our server returned with our drinks and took our order. While we waited for our pizzas I took the time to take in the restaurant. Exposed beam ceiling, lots of large windows, a fantastic bar, and an open kitchen. There are several tables in the front room, so you are close, but not too close. Our pizza arrived pretty quickly and it was wonderful. My wife had a white and I had a half margherita and half diavolo. Our server was very friendly and checked on us a couple of times. The price for the dinner was very reasonable. I would suggest to anyone this is the place to go and worth any wait. The pub across helps with the wait.

One of the best pizza spots in Cleveland. Usually packed, but if you're fine with waiting, it's worth it. We got a red and a white sauce pizza with varied toppings. Pizza came out quick and was delicious. I preferred the white sauce myself. Great atmosphere inside as well. Great drink options, too. Cocktails were really good. We'll be back!

I had the absolute delight of making my first visit to Il Rione on November the 29th. I was simply blown away by…well, by everything! The restaurant itself is simply charming, the person who assisted me with my order (Jackie N.) was very kind (always a plus) and the pizza was outstanding! My plan is to return in the spring (I live in the Detroit area) with my daughters, to have them experience truly, a delightful, and special neighborhood gem!

Have been here a few times when we travel through OH. These are perfect thin crust pizzas. We got the Margherita and a White base (ricotta & other things) with prosciutto on top. The Margherita had a perfect amount of sauce and a nice crispy bread. It's so light you can eat half a pizza by yourself and not feel stuffed. The white sauce pizza took me by surprise. I've had ricotta in my sauce before, and it usually has this grainy consistency. This sauce was creamy and did not taste like a weird ricotta flavor. It was almost perfect. I wish it had a pinch more of salt because it lacked a "little" flavor. It was still good enough for me to want to eat the entire pizza.

For the perfect night out, look no further than Il Rione. The pizza is AH-MAZING (as are the drinks), the patio is lovely in the summer, and the service is great.

Cleveland isn't exactly known for its pizza. So glad we finally found this place and can enjoy pizza again. Thin, bubbly crust hand stretched in the open kitchen and baked hot and fast with simple yet creative and delicious toppings. The cocktails are good too. Makes for a great date night. No reservations and a small dining area but it is worth the wait!

The atmosphere is so cool inside and the pizzas were delicious! Ordered the Green pie and the Speck pie. Don't wait around to check this place out, treat yo self! We ordered 2 pizzas for 2 people and had leftovers for 1-1.5 people depending on how hungry you are.

Pizza was good. Loved the old style pub style for dinning! Wait was over 1 hr but it was worth it! Highly recommend

This spot is worth a try for sure. The brick oven pizza was perfect. The pizzas were slightly charred, full of flavor with a crisp bottom and the toppings tasty. The salad was dressed welled but not over the top. The cocktails are balanced and not overly sweet. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We arrived with family and had a fantastic night though Il Rione could be great for a quick date night or just an evening on your own.

We have be eating at Il Rione since they opened. We moved to the east side so we do carry out regularly now. Il Rione is the best pizza in Cleveland. Favorite pies are Rosanne and Green pie.

My parents and I continued our hunt for great pizza in Cleveland and Il Rione did not disappoint. The staff was kind and accommodating to my parents, the food was phenomenal and I personally love the atmosphere and building. My dad is hard of hearing so the high open ceilings made it a wee bit tough for him to hear our conversation (for those with older parents, looking for a nice dinner) but we genuinely loved it and will be back!

The pizza we ordered was delicious and a good size for two. Only reason I gave four stars is that they were a little pricey in my opinion. Not enough to deter me from going here but noticeable enough to mention. The staff was amazing though. Our waitress was super sweet, friendly and made sure our waters never went empty. Atmosphere was p cool. If I lived here I’d come back regularly. Pictured is their Margherita pizza in the small size.

What a great restaurant. I was a guest at a bridal shower and the venue, food and staff were amazing. We were able to try several of the specialty pies and two of the fresh, flavorful salads. The pizza crusts were the best! Thin, crispy, delicious and perfect for the creative combination of toppings. I like that the ingredients don't compete - they all can be tasted individually and together make up a wonderful pizza. Order a couple of smalls that way you won't have to choose which pie to get!! I didn't have a chance to look at the wine list, but the Aperol Spritz was great. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the outdoor patio.

There was a long wait, but the hostess offered two seats at the bar. This place is very busy but the staff is very efficient. We ordered a bottle of wine, house, salad, and pizza. The crust is absolutely the best if you enjoy a New York style, thin crust pizza. Marcus, the bartender was so efficient, nice and made our experience even better. We weren’t sure which of the two wines to order and he gave us taste of both wines so that we could decide. Their cocktails also looked fabulous. We will be back.

If you are expecting something life changing I'm afraid you will be quiet disappointed. It is gourmet pizza in name. Not the worst but not the best. The sauce is pretty incredible however the cracker like base is what can only be described as floppy. One half of a slice plummets toward the floor as you pick it up. No matter how you hold or fold, its so thin, gravity takes over. The pie we had was of the stock sausage variety. The sausage was akin to meat I've had from chain restaurants. Pretty disappointing. Peppers and chucks of tomatoes were nice. Noticeably absent were the onions. Maybe by design, cheese was one bite and gone, never to be seen again. It seemed to all slide toward the floppy pinnacle of the piece and disappear after one bite. What is left is a cracker like thin crust and in tow a pretty dry crust. Walking around the neighborhood for an hour to get a seat is not worth the time in my opinion. Save for the sauce, its all hype.

Awesome! Staff was terrific. We were greeted by, who I assume, was owner or manager and then he made a point to interact with again upon leaving. Pizza was delish! Thin crust, brick oven style. Very flavorful. Very trendy atmosphere but comfortable and cozy as soon as we entered. Busy on a Wednesday evening but they were able to accommodate our party of 6 without reservation. Glad to see the Gordon Square neighborhood Has some great places like this. We will definitely be back soon.

If you scooped up Il Rione and dropped in the West Village, it would still be one of the best slices you could ever have. Incredible pizza, can't beat it.
