The views from outside were more enjoyable than the actual experience. I enjoyed the plaques that explained more about the history. If you're a historian and enjoy these type of things, it may be worth paying the 8 euros to enter. I'm a seasoned traveler and would have preferred to spend those 8 euros on something else. The outside of this place is definitely the highlight (and free). If you are on a budget, you can definitely skip this exhibit. If you've got the time to kill and don't know what else to do, this is a decent option. They have bathrooms at the entrance which were decently maintained

An amazing building with some truly stunning mosaics. Lots of steps and unprotected drops, so not ideal for those with a fear of heights or young children. The mosaics on the floor were taken from excavations in Kos in the 1930s and installed here during buying restorations. The building is magnificent but has little explanation about the buildings history.

Well worth €8 ,buy the €10 ticket and that gives access to 3 more museums nearby, very good inside and well thought out , BUT go in the morning we went Friday morning and it was not busy when the cruise liners dock thousands of tourists come into old town and this place becomes like a zoo. also walk the medieval moat outside stunning that's free.at the time of this review masks have to be worn inside all museums.

Definitely grand and beautiful inside. There was no line and easy to get in. Rooms were exquisitely decorated for their time of Era. After the tour, we a walk down the cobble street that led to a square with local vendor souvenir shops and restaurants. A must visit in Rhodes, Greece!

I’m not sure what is not to like about the palace which the combined ticket only costs €10 and you can visit the archaeological museum & other attractions with the same ticket… Lots of mosaics exhibited in the palace and lots of rooms, hallways.. I found it very enjoyable to walk around, although there’s not much texts about the history itself, only about the mosaics. Definitely worth a visit just to have a stroll. It’s a nice palace building on its own.

10€ for a combined ticket including 4 different attractions. This one was not the best of them. The outside was beautiful and there was a lovely looking sculpture garden but you couldn't go in it. The inside was quite simple and the main feature in every room was the mosaic tiles which were all described down to the last morsel. However, there was very little else to see and the information linked to this was often written at the end rather than the beginning. The room with the knights clothing was by far the best one. You will need to walk up steep steps, so it is not suitable for disabled people.

Beautiful, well preserved building. My husband and I visited on a Sunday, payment in was 8 euros each. Nice and cool inside, great relief from the heat of Rhodes. Definitely worth the visit, could easily spend 1.5. Hours here. Didn't appear to be guided tours/ maps/ information leaflets when we visited. Would suggest you bring your own booklet/ read information about the palace before you visit, so that you know about it.

8 euros to get in and we’ll worth taking a look. Has small amounts of museum item on the bottom level, however, the upper level is amazingly beautiful and one can only imagine how daily life would have been here. Beautifully restored castle and a must see if your in Rhodes, Greece

We bought a combo ticket 10€, the child is free, the price includes visiting 4 places. In the Palace of the Grand Master on the ground floor there is an exhibition of antiquity, many exhibits, it is interesting to look at and read the names, as well as find out what period of time they belong to. On the second floor, the atmosphere of a real knight's castle. Unfortunately, there is little information in the museum itself about the life of this period, so it would be good to search and get acquainted with information on the Internet in advance. We spent almost 2 hours, but for my teenage child, unfortunately, it was not so interesting as it was for me.

Some interesting art in the main museum but most of the original statues were damaged by earthquakes. The outdoor garden is peaceful and has a few impressive frescoes. There is a small museum in the back with a few excellent pieces, some going back almost 8,000 years. Most of the castle is a reconstruction in the last century. The staff is very knowledgeable and can offer some historical insight.

Very well preserved castle and an amazing experience walking around it. Some of the mosaic floors are first century. The ceilings had been restored but with the right wood and there were loads of benches all around the castle. The stairs up to the castle are breathtaking and they still have original cannon balls. There are also good facilities in the castle if you need to use the WC.

Very interesting historical building. Ancient mosaics. Interesting history of Rhodes Town. €8 entry to the main fortress, however inside has been restored/ cared for. If you like ancient buildings/castles this is for you. Other pieces on display are old pots, suits of armour, tools etc. Other note - with the windows open the breeze on a hot day is wonderful, helps keep cool.

This knight's castle is a must-see. The castle is very well preserved and has a breathtaking atmosphere. There are many expositions and photos from archaeological works. The tour is well signposted. If you plan a tour on the weekend, I recommend buying tickets in advance. The courtyard offers a number of photogenic places. Along the way from the castle down towards the Gate of Liberty is an amazing street called Street of the Knights of Rhodes. I recommend you to visit this castle.

This is a must if you are interested in history. There is some construction but most of the castle is open and it’s impressive to see the interior. It’s a bit hot so bring water during the summer. There’s a 2nd museum you have to purchase a separate ticket for at the bottom of the road that’s really cool to see

For 8€ you can take a quick walk through this ancient palace. The atrium is neat and beautiful. It shows some statues. The main course takes you on the first floor, after a short visit to a small chapel. Following through various rooms, you can see differently styled rooms of which many show famous mosaic layings on the ground. It is a nice little walk through the building. The whole course takes around 30 minutes, depending on time you want to spend there. It is worth a visit.

Nice place! We went only to the Palace and had a look around. For that the entrance price might be a little too much, but you v Cam easily get a combo ticket with other museums to make it worth your while. I really liked their collection of mosaics.

Tickets were 8 euro at the spot, combined ticket with archeological museum cost 10euro. (Instead of 6 if you visit separately) Ticket is valid for 3 days. You can come back and visit closed exhibitions on another day. Museum is closing at 20:00 but exhibitions are closing at 15:45 if i recall correctly.

A must see in Rhodes. Very grandious, the palace is fit for a king with spacious halls and tall ceilings. I especially like the huge Japanese porcelain vases displayed in the palace, with spectacular figures and designs on them. Need to do your homework on YouTube of the history of Rhodes before you go visit it. But even if unprepared like me I still enjoy the tour of the museum.

Such a well preserved palace. It is presented beautifully with some rooms furnished. The unique mosaic floor inserts are roped off and this allows a clear view of the artistry it took to create. There are many stairs and no rails. There are also public toilets on site.

It is worth visiting the grand master's palace, it is a piece of Greek history. It really preserved the medieval architecture and we admired the preserved medieval walls and construction the whole time. I definitely recommend a visit. I recommend buying tickets in advance through the official site of Greek monuments. It's called the Hellenic Heritage. For Europeans under the age of 25, a free ticket to this monument is available through this website. For people over 25, you can also find a cheaper ticket than on commercial sites that sell tickets

What a fantastic day out and we probably didn't get to see half of it as it's so massive inside the walls . There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go bye while having something to eat and drink. Loads of small boutique restaurants and shops to mill in and out while you marvel at the scale of this place and how well maintained it was . I would definitely recommend going to this place. Carl

Great place and full of history. Visited on a weekday in late September. Not too many people, although there were a lot of groups from the cruise ships when we went. We had bought tickets on line but there is limited signage to say that you can skip the queue. We both really enjoyed our visit. Lots of mosaics (brought over from Cos by the Italians) statues, art etc. Keep an eye out for the windows which are made of thin sheets of alabaster - amazing to see. I think it was 8 euro at the time.

Very much worth the visit and ticket price (8 euro) if you are the least historical or architecture interested. The castle is quite large with lots of interesting places and rooms to visit, with impressing interior and old mosaics, paintings and so on. Very well preserved. I spent around 2 hours during the visit. Only downside is the missing signs with descriptions about the different rooms, it could be nice to read a little about the purpose of the different rooms and structures.

Impressive palace from the outside. As soon as you enter it is necessary to buy a ticket. Either 8€ to visit the palace once or 10€ for a combined ticket (valid for 3 days) - for the Palace of the Grand Master of Knights, the Archaeological Museum, the church of Our Lady of the Castle and the Decorative Arts Collection. The ticket can be booked online in advance, then you can save the queue for the ticket purchase (left queue) and wait only for the entrance itself (right queue). After the queue in the courtyard you are disillusioned and wonder what you paid 8€ for. But the "small" ticket also includes the way through the castle itself. For this you have to take a door next to the entrance with a large staircase up. Here there are then some nice things to see during a walk through the castle. All in all, it is worth a visit. The toilet in the courtyard can unfortunately not be locked 🫣.

Massive and impressive with unparalleled architecture. A bit disappointing due to the lack of the old and original brickwork, probably lost with the restorations made by the Italians around 1930. Very little to visit in it, only one side of the ground floor, set up as a museum of the ancient period of the city of Rhodes. Beautiful exhibits in the museum, of remarkable diversity and extremely interesting. The rest of the palace...closed and inaccessible for visits.

Fascinating and beautiful place. A combination ticket gets you access to the palace (where there was also an interesting museum exhibition when we visited) and nearby museums which you could visit multiple times and still see/learn new things. Very interesting and great value.

Five star for the palace itself, one star for the organization of the museum. Building is beautiful and well persevered. You can easily imagine how was it in the old days. I am not talking about the staff, they are very polite and helpful. But, there is not one interesting information inside the museum so if you want to learn something you must search for it on your own.

If you come to Rhodes you need to pay a visit here. It is a massive Palace and deserves to be visited and explored. It has a lot of information about the city of Rhodes and the knights of saint John. Lacking information on the higher floor though. There you'll just find info about the Roman mosaics. Also I recommend to do the walk on the Walls. That's really cool and it costs just 3€!

Gorgeous place. Lots to walk around and was very Picturesque! No ticket needed. Just a free for all walk. Lots of touristy shops within the old ruins. Beware though some restaurants within the old town charge double/Triple to what you could pay for the same thing outside the old town. Just a side note. Other than that. Was lovely x

Loved the visit to the Palace of the Grand Master, well laid out exhibitions of ancient Greek artefacts up to 3000 years old. One word of caution, I have walking difficulties and there are around 30 steps to get inside the upper floors so be warned - but if that seems too much, you can still visit the outside areas which in themselves are worth a visit.

Stunning place full of History. Looks amazing from the inside and out. Lots of places to get food, drink and gifts on the outside and old paths. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in Rhodes

The spirit of the Middle Ages fills every nook and cranny of this palace. A beautiful and magical place. I love visiting such monuments. I am charmed! I recommend it with all my heart! 🤩🤩🤩

Awesome. Fantastic experience, great collection of ancient museum type artefacts but a walk around inside the palace was fantastic. A credit to the people that built it, but also to those maintaining it. Just the dimensions of the moat and exterior walls sets expectations which were exceeded.

This is your MUST, Top 1 priority if you come to Rhodes. Definitely worth the visit. Allow for at least 1-1,5 hour. (Note: the inner city is a pedestrian area), The Palace has a Byzantine exhibition and a mosaic one in different floors; the inner courtyard is also very nice. Normal ticket is €8, but there is a Combined Ticket (also for 3 other locations) for €10, which I would recommend as long as you have the time to check any of the other places (2 are closed on Tuesdays). There is a separate ticket to visit the city walls.

We visited old town a couple of times. The palace, surrounding moat and paths are amazing. Lots of shops and restaurants inside the walls. Though we didn't try the food. Cobbled streets. Roughly 15-20 mins walk to the collosus area.

Did not think I would enjoy the Grand Master Palace, I was WRONG!!! The courtyard was large but unassuming, once inside though modest by European Castle standards the artwork, mosaics, wood work and masonry that went into this was awe-inspiring. Must see and worth every euro paid. Went in the am were one of the first people in, as we were leaving around 11 that courtyard was getting to look more Iike holding pen than a open simple silent courtyard of early am.

The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights was really good to see and take in the huge scale of the place. There are is lot of historic memorabilia to see and was worth the €8 entry fee. The palace was also fairly quiet too which allowed us to take it in properly. The only downside was the information given about the history of the palace (I couldn’t spot anywhere this was displayed in English but happily to take it back if wrong). I have learnt more regarding the historic value of this place once leaving and reading online.
