Generally speaking, it’s a nice place with nice views. I do believe the monastery is more beautiful during the summer. We were here in may, the flowers and plants weren’t yet blooming so the place seemed a bit grey and boring. The entrance to the monastery costs 6 euros which on one hand isn’t much but on the other it doesn’t give you much. Honestly I wouldn’t judge anyone if they skipped the monastery part and went the other way to the cross and scenic view of Rhodes. Much more worth it + free. The entrance to the monastery is free for people under 25 from Europe. People under 25 outside Europe pay half price. There’s a small shop with drinks and candy which is super cheap so that’s a plus. There are Indian peafowls and pheasants running around freely but they seem calm and aren’t attacking tourists. A good and productive option is to go there by foot, the satisfaction you get once you make it to the top is unreal. However most people get there by cars. There’s a bus stop at the top but during spring (may) no buses were going there, so maybe in the summer when the tourist period starts. Worth the visit for the views.

One of my favorite places so far on Rhodes. Peaceful after the coach parties leave. Loved the peacocks. Great views. Monastery is picturesque. Nice shady snack bar. Road very accessible if you have hired a car

Amazing views. €6 though to wander around and not see inside the buildings was a bit disappointing. It looks like they are making improvements for the future… the peacocks were stunning!

You can make in this place some good photos. But when we were there on Saturday evening there was a wedding at the same time with a lot of people... Firstly it was not closed for tourist and all need to pay full ticket price, but people can't even go in the building with most beautiful views, because there was preparation for wedding...

Rhodes without this-You missed a lot. Please go to visit and let it make You peaceful. Taxi up, walking down recommended. Beautiful scenery. Peacocks noises are still on my head. Positive way. Respect the nature and the monastery peace.🤍

You can see this place has history is beautiful in the evening light. There’s a big car park and you’re charged entry when you walk up. The toilets are basic but clean. It feels like they’re very much improving the venue and it’s getting ready for tourist season. It’s missing a coffee shop and any information about the place.

Lovely place that we were taken to by a tour guide. Really interesting back story to the place and taught us things about the Greek orthodox religion. Things were sign posted in English as well so we could understand what everything was. The highlight was the peacocks. They were very impressive and very noisy (as we visited during their mating season). Cost 6euros to go in - can pay with cash or card. 3 euros for over 65s.

Lovely monastery situated high above the north-west coast of Rhodes. Cool shady spots and peacocks and peahens roam around you waiting for feed that can be bought at the little cafe/gift shop. Away from the crowds. 5 euro entry. About 6km uphill from Ixia. Taxi up (13 euros) and walked back down. September 2022.

Filerimos Monastery & Cross are located approx. 6km away from Ialysós Center, up on a mountain. One way taxi-ride is 10-15€. I went up the mountain on a cab and down on foot. The Monastery and Acropolis is free for people under the age of 25. For older ones ticket costs 6€. Parking is free. --- This place is unique by all means; in one single place you got ruins of an Ancient Greek Temple (1 of 4 Acropolises on Rhodes), a breathtaking Monastery with a beautiful yard and church/chapel, a TON of picturesque (and loud) Peacocks and most of all amazing views all around the Island. At the Filerimos Cross (& Chapel) there is a large viewpoint where you can see the mountains, beaches and watch the planes go by. The journey to the Cross from the Monastery parking lot is also very cool. You DEFINITELY SHOULD VISIT here.

Beautiful monastery, peaceful place and full of peacocks. The monastery is one of the archeological sites within Rhodes and it has some constructions dated from Bizantine time. I do recommend going there early in the morning during the summer season, it is chilly! The ticket cost 6€ and children up to 13 did not pay, at least in our case!

Very nice and interesting Monastery in the same time. They could sell some books about the history of the place... The place is very relaxing, the Golgota road is shady and pleasant. The cross place offers an amazing panorama.

A scenic drive up will lead you to the entrance of the monastery with many peacocks around. They were quite docile. A beautiful flight of steps leads up to the actual monastery grounds. There is also a Byzantine fort in the corner of the area, and reparation works look to be done on it.

The Filerimos Monastery is a beautiful, pittoresque site for people who can appreciate medieval (religious) architecture. It's not a big, fancy historical site, so the entry fee of 6 euros per person seems fair to me, given that the site is clean, well maintained and equipped with bathrooms. Information on the monastery is scarce, so you'll have to either Google or make up the story for this place. The view is pretty nice, although it's generally just the urbanised part of Rhodos you'll be seeing. If you enjoy local wildlife, you'll also find plenty of that here (but please treat them with care and respect!).

This was a relatively quiet place whichay be due to the long road that you would have to get up in the heat via walking (survival of the fittest), tour bus or taxi There are lots of historical and culturally significant places-most of it originating from 3rd bc or 5 ad. There's lots of peacocks and stunning views. However there isn't much information about what each building or ruin is so I would definitely conduct some research before going. The cost is 6 euros and free for over 65s

Beautiful monestary to visit. It really gave a game of thrones vibe as you walk through the courtyards and the buildings. Here you'll also find a temple of Athena and Zeus as well as remains of an old Byzantine garrison. There are a lot of peacocks as well and you can also visit the large cross for views over Rhodes. Highly recommend going here and in my opinion well worth the 6 euro per person to enter.
