Spoiler: Everything I will say about Rhodes Backpackers' Hostel is positive. I extended my short stay and was here for weeks. During this time, the hostel was consistently clean, comfortable, peaceful. The kitchen is well-appointed, so cooking is not the struggle one might expect. It comes down to management: The owners are dedicated, caring, competent, experienced, fun, friendly. Located a 1 km walk away from the Old City of Rhodes, this hostel is housed in a family-old apartment building on a residential street. There are two supermarkets within walking distance, as well as many restaurants and cafes. The hostel's ground floor consists of a common patio lounge, bar, and office. The par terre level houses the dorms, private rooms, common kitchen, and laundry. Every inch of the place -- whether indoors or out in the garden -- is well-tended to by the owners. They are knowledgeable, generously sharing local info (where to go, how to get there, etc.), problem-solving -- whatever is necessary -- or just enjoying your company or the day. Upon arrival, and after you settle in, you'll feel the vibe!

The stay was excellent. The hosts Michael & Maria are very warm and welcoming. They had advice and tips for trips and restaurants on the whole island. They were also happy to help us with the easiest car rent we have ever had. We were able to borrow equipment to snorkel. If you want to chat a little bit they have an open ear and you will almost always find other hostel guests in the lounge during breakfast or cocktail hours. We would book this cozy and lovely apartment again!

this hostel is a gem: tidy, clean with a wonderful garden to relax and the best drinks in Rhodes. try the ' Rhodesian tonic and tears' made with a special tea, Michael brought from Australia. Awesome taste🤛❤️❤️❤️. Michael and Maria are the best hosts you can imagine, always friendly and helpful. you are in the middle of Rhodes, not far from the old town and have a chilled place to relax and sleep. Like in Zeus' arms. Enjoyed my stay here a lot. BTW: best equipped and cleanest hostel kitchen I ever saw😮🤛👍👍👍

I didn't get to stay in the hostel as there was a misunderstanding with my booking, but Mike has been incredibly helpful trying to find accommodation for me as Rhodes was quite full. Thank you very much for this and, who knows, I might come and stay at the hostel in the future :-)

You'll be hard pressed to find another hostel with owners who are nicer and care more about their guests. This place is fantastic! If you're coming to Rhodes, definitely stay here. Hopefully I'll come back someday!

We stayed in a beautiful little apartment and were looked after by two caretaker ladies. Great place to unwind and see the sights.

The place was clean and quiet. Michael and Maria really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Surprisingly nice in all aspects, rooms, kitchen, etc.. Well maintained and very friendly owners.. Highly recommended !!!

Very kind hosts. We booked a private room. It was very clean and had everything we wanted: a good fridge, great bed, shower and even a little kitchen. You could also use the common kitchen, which was well equipped. The location is a five minute walk to old town and also set in a not too busy street. There is also a bar and a little garden, where you can meet the other guests or take the time to do other things. Would recommend. We also went to another hostel in rhodes, but personally prefer this one.

Our stay at the hostel was absolutely wonderful, the owners Mike and Maria were super welcoming and helpful whenever we had questions about local travelling and how to explore the island. The atmosphere in general is super calm and friendly. I’ll definitely recommend the hostel to anyone looking for a nice hostel with great hosts!

The best hostel I’ve ever been to! Everything is in great condition. The owner is an Australian couple with extensive travel experience. So they gave me lots of advices. Also host, guests and some friends gather in the courtyard every night just to talk and sharing experiences, in a great atmosphere. The hostess talks very politely and sweetly. It’s a hostel with real home feeling. Highly recommended!
