Ta Marasia

Restaurant

😐 This place was highly recommended to us so we went there having high expectations. These weren’t met unfortunately as the food was nothing but ordinary so we had hard time understanding the fuzz about this place. Simple can be delicious but we didn’t quite feel that this time. We liked the wine and... People often mention good, service, Greek, delicious, nice, feta, amazing, friendly,

We came with a very high expectations for this place, given the unusually high rating. Well, quite disappointed. The Greek salad was promoted as sufficient for 4, sadly barely enough for 2. The grilled octopus was tough and untasty. The stuffed aubergine was ok, but also with a lack of taste. We also ordered shrimps In tomato sauce, the shrimps taste was strong, I suspected they were not fresh at all. Atmosphere is nice, the service is good. Portions are small for the prices.

This place was highly recommended to us so we went there having high expectations. These weren’t met unfortunately as the food was nothing but ordinary so we had hard time understanding the fuzz about this place. Simple can be delicious but we didn’t quite feel that this time. We liked the wine and the service was good, so was the feta fried with honey and their homemade bread grilled with a splash of olive oil and thyme on it. The rest was nothing but average, where was the twist I’m wondering? Boring Greek salad and dry meatballs with no seasoning. Passable split pea dip. And above all: avoid the veal liver! It was far too bloody when served, unseasoned and too strong in taste. Plus we were never asked how we wanted it served (in case you claim otherwise) so it was an unpleasant surprise..

We came to Ta Marasia under recommendation, and indeed it was a wonderful choice for an evening out. We were hosted by Niko, excellent maître d', who gave us a taste of two good local white wines. We chose the one in the attached photo. Their mezedes were a dream, and their attention throughout the evening was high class. Recommended.

Best food in our week in Rhodes (and we had lots of yummy food)! Be awake that the portions are huge even though on the pictures it might look small. For two people I'd go for not more than 4 dishes. You can always order more. For us the highlights were the 6 hours stewed lamb shank, the feta tomato capers dish, also the honey feta was amazing. Also the feta yoghurt mix was very yummy. The only thing we didn't like as much and that we had better in other places was the calamari fried. It wasn't as tender. Nice staff with a lot of patience as another table weren't the easiest people and we heard they stayed friendly all the time. The location is very unexpected. Nice to walk there! Bring some food for the cats along the way 😁😸 Would definitely recommend to everyone who goes to Rhodes!

Traditional Greek tavern with some modern elements, leading to delicious food. We ordered a salad and two other mezze dishes, which were all amazing. The staff were super friendly and chatty and the atmosphere ovrall was great. The only negatives are that the service on this particular occasion at least, was on the slower side (which may not be an issue if you aren't in a rush though). Also the food is slightly pricier than similar alternatives (but by no means expensive).

This is a perfect little restaurant tucked away from busy old town. Definitely worth navigating the small winding streets to get here! The service was incredible, and the food was phenomenal. One of the best Greek salads we’ve had thus far, and an amazing slow cooked lamb shank dish.

Ambience was very nice, good music, very friendly service. Food was very good (fried feta! Prawns in tomato sauce! Sardines!), only not enough vegan options... Good value for money, with a great atmosphere.

This is a fantastic hidden local gem! The Scordalia is some of the best I've ever had anywhere, and features chilli flakes, making it oh so tasty. The grilled potatoes are also excellent, as is the grilled octopus and pork bits in wine glaze with diced onions. They also offer you complimentary Mastiha and dessert after your meal. Highly recommended!

We visited the restaurant on 17/09/2023. Everything was delicious, but the portions for the small fish were ridiculously small. We ordered two portions and it looked like they had split the portion in the menu photo into two halves. We definitely won't be doing it again. We did not take from the portion in the photo.thank you for your answer, but for 15 years I have been eating in Greece in different places and islands, but this is the first time I get such an economical "appetizer" for 8 euros, which is quite different from the pictures on your menu.

Perfect. Real authentic high-quality local Greek food. Insanely good. All home cooked and made to order. We had meatballs, Greek salad, mix of dips and honey feta. Would love to go back. In fact, we did. I forgot my bag.

I came to this restaurant thanks to the suggestion of my host. It is hidden in a very quiet area in the residential part of the town, away from the touristic places. The service and the atmosphera are great , the food is excellent and the service is very friendly. Highly recommended.

This is a must go if you are in Rhodes. A bit of a walk from Old Town but worth every step. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful with suggestions. We got the slow roasted lamb with an amazing sauce and finished with a delicious chocolate dessert and everything was delicious.

This restaurant was located 50 meters from our apartment. We went back 4 times, because it was so good. It’s got a very nice terrace with a good ambiance, a typical Greek menu with a refreshing modern twist and really nice people (and 1 red cat, who was an unofficial member of the crew). We felt at home there. After our second visit our icebucket was there before we even arrived 😉 As we were there so often, we could explore the menu in depth and every dish was good.

This place is amazing. Best Greek food I've had. Every aspect of the meal was flawless. We had the 6hr slow cooked lamb shank and the chicken fillet. Both huge portions and extremely tasty. For sides had fried potatoes and grilled Veg. Great ambience and lighting. Attentive and passionate staff.
