    ***** RENTER BEWARE ***** This community used to be a really nice place to live, but the last 2 years it has really gone down hill. The trash compactor area is always overflowing and is an eyesore to the community, but management will charge you $80 every time you leave your trash can outside your apartment, after 9AM citing that “trash cans left outside apartments, look unsightly.” The community seems very transient now with shady residents living there. There have been several car break-ins at Aston as well. I don’t even bother going to the pool anymore, because I have been verbally harassed by other residents, and no longer feel safe using any of the complex’s amenities. The only good things about this community is the landscaping is well maintained and maintenance is usually quick to respond. If you are thinking of moving to Aston, I highly suggest you reconsider.

    No parking unless if you get home before 2p. Some of us work until 8p so by then you are screwed. Had to park near the leasing office almost everyday. My building was not close. Paid an absurd amount of money for a two bedroom apartment. Poor communication with the people in the leasing office. Waited days for a response. Had to call or email multiple times before I ever got a response. They never changed my air filters in the 3 years we were there. They claim to do a quarterly check up and change them out but that’s a lie. Didn’t know that until a new guy from maintenance told us and said it was definitely not change in quite a long time. This happen because our AC went out and when I called to tell them this needed to be done asap, the lady in the office told me that it wasn’t an emergency. It was 80 degrees inside my apartment. These are only a few of the things we had to deal with. We are still being charged for things that were already paid for and charges that don’t make sense after our move-out date. Don’t waste your money!

    Our faucet and sprayer stopped working. Took 4 days to get a new faucet. (4 days and 2 maintenance request to have running water in our kitchen) this was the solution for the sprayer. Put in another request for the sprayer and it was closed as “complete” … $1400+/mo and this is what we get. Along with all the other outdated appliances half way working. Wish we could break the lease.

    Avoid this complex! They have hidden fees charged in your rent bill! My advice avoid them and go to the complex across the street. We moved out and that's the one of the best things we could have every done. The staff in the office is not actually a staff because they aren't friendly or helpful, I bet automated robots are better than them honestly. Check your rents, hidden fees!

    DO NOT MOVE IN THERE! There is a toxic mold issue in 721 Ligon Creek Loop building number 10 apartment 104. Apparently they painted over the mold on the ceiling. As time passed it became apparent. After contacting a multitude of times they came to take pictures on three separate times. We waited 8 weeks without any resolution and having finally moved out due to health concerns. We found out on the day we moved that the previous tenants complained about the black mold too. The mold is on the ceiling coming from the upstairs bathtub. They were aware of this issue and covered it up with some paint. They will most likely do this to the next unfortunate soul. We have been contacting them for days now to ask for a release from the lease due to the egregious and negligent actions. We just want to part ways but are prepared to litigate based on their actions or inactions at this point. The apartments are filthy, smelly and the maintenance people have no desire to do anything besides drive mindlessly for hours in their golf carts. The car wash is always broken and never actually working. The pool is overcrowded and filthy. The valet trash will leave notes and usually not take your trash if your one trash bag is coming out of the small trash can. This is the WORST experience ever. If I could put a ZERO I would.

    My AC needed replaced and there had been minimal communication from the leasing staff/maintenance did not follow up with us unless we reached out to them. Last we had known, the AC replacement was pending approval from management. It had been since 10/5 that email was received. Next thing we know, Tuesday 10/16 our doorbell was rang and luckily we have a video doorbell that we could see maintenance entering our unit. I also received a email 10/16 saying Mandolin was here to install the new AC. However, this was never communicated until it was happening. We have a dog who can easily get out of his cage and maintenance just went in. I understand we had a maintenance request open however, the communication has been very unprofessional and lacking unless we reached out. I responded to the email 10/16 and left 2 voicemails stating my concerns with our dog potentially getting out with a stranger in our home & that this was never communicated or someone could have been home. I never received a response or an apology. Luckily my renewal is around the corner and we will be making a decision if this is the right place for us to live due to the lack of communication. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed in the general lack of communication and no response from maintenance or the leasing office staff on my email or my 2 voicemails.

    Aston Apartment Homes in Wake Forest, NC, is where I have chosen to make my home for the the active years of my retirement. The well-kept, attractive buildings, set within a spacious, park-like, wooded tract of land, affords opportunities for pleasant walks through the woods with my wife, or to check the mail, or to walk my canine friend. Life at Aston makes my home feel like a bucolic respite from the traffic and noise of the rest of the research triangle. Yet, the conveniences of a large city, including shops, restaurants, even a gourmet grocery superstore, Wegman's, a Walmart, and a Sam's Club are all within half a mile of my front door. Then, there is the sense of well-being that comes with knowing that several world class hospitals clinics, and health care centers are nearby. Aston Apartment living includes first class amenities. A well maintained, climate-controled fitness center with private access for all residents is available around the clock. A family-oriented community center with a salt water pool for the warm summer months is set in a luxurious tropical courtyard. Its covered patio with casual seating areas is ideal for casual conversations or watching a game on television. I can have fun playing a game of billiards or ping-pong, or spending a relaxing morning at poolside, soaking in the warm sun or an afternoon listening to the children play while preparing a family meal in the granite counter top stainless steel poolside grilling ares, which a prove that family recreation is important at Aston. Besides all this my life is enhanced by having a car-wash, a trash compactor and recycling center right on the property. Keeping my Aston Apartment home in tip top shape was never easier. If something wears out, needs to be repaired or replaced, all I have to to is go online to our convenient community Web page and send an e mail request for maintenance which is normally handled in just a day or two. After the job is done, I have an opportunity to provide feedback so that the job is done right the first time, every time. Nightly doorfront trash and garbage removal gives me the freedom of disposing of an entire bag of household waste five nights per week without having to take it to the compactor myself. The helpful, friendly staff in the rental office are always available to answer questions or listen to my concerns. Even six months after signing my initial lease, they offer a friendly greeting, smile or wave every time I walk by, making me feel like I'm really important as a resident. My dog, Buddy can also get plenty of exercise. In addition to all the walkways there is a small dog-agility park. Convenient stations for properly disposing of pet waste, well away from living areas, ensure that our serene surroundings are kept clean for all my fellow community members. When I chose Aston, did I pick the perfect community for myself and my family? What do you think?😉

    I just love this community! It's so close to just about anything you need, shopping, recreation, etc., and the community itself has everything I could possibly want- beautiful and well kept amenities, such as the pool, and outdoor pool table, a community grill, workout facility, a brand new dog park, and just so much more! Management is friendly and professional, and they make sure everything is ckean and well cared for.
