Simply stunning! It’s worth the visit! If you are visiting Siena take time to visit the palace and it’s wonderful terrace. We didn’t climb the tower due to knee problems.. what a pity…

Climbing the tall bell towers of Europe is always exciting and challenging, and the Siena Torre del Mangia is no exception. The narrow passages must accommodate traffic going up and going down making for some tight squeezes--we wonder how soldiers with weapons were able to maneuver when they were forced to climb the tower to defend the town against invaders. When you emerge at the top of the tower you can walk completely around it to enjoy the spectacular view in all directions. Hint: We arrived at 9:55 and had no waiting in line.

Square in front of it is really cool, the palace itself it’s nothing incredible.

This is one of the most famous building in Siena and certainly at the center. The palace acts as a museum and icon for the city. The entry courtyard is free and offers a unique look at the tower from directly below. The ticket booth is at the back of this courtyard if you wish to enter.

Do not miss this museum - put this alongside the Duomo and Piccolomini library as the 3 must sees in Siena. You really need to witness some of the ancient frescos depicting life in the 14th century. Check out wikipedia about the Palazzo and also under "The Allegory of Good and Bad Government". No queue off-season, can't say high season.

We visited in October 2017. Good museum inside and a wonderful view from the top across Sienna. You have to get up a tall winding tower to get there and sometimes this is closed but luckily open when we visited. Well maintained for a building from 1297. 9 Euros to enter but totally worth it.

Beautiful courtyard area with shops and restaurants. Lots of history here if you read up on it. Don't ride your bike through the square! The cops will stop you!

Nice building with a museum inside with lots of frescos and religious art pieces. We bought the pass with Torre Mangia climbing, this museum and another one for €20. Clean toilets and no crowds inside.

There would be no Siena without this building. History is inscribed in every square inch of this town hall.

The Palazzo Publico is situated in the famous Piazza Del Campo and started construction in 1297. Like most buildings on the square it is stunning. Also close by are the Duomo Di Siena and the Torre Del Mangia. A wonderful location to visit, have a coffee or meal, shop or just people watch.

There are many rhings to see inside the plaza, like la torre del mangia and the museum right next to it. You have to pay to go to these places inside but its worth it
