What an experience! Amazing way to try so many one of a kind restaurants in Trastevere area of Rome. Gabrielle, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine, excellent at explaining the history of the area and he was also entertaining. Highly recommend.

This was definitely the best tour I've done!! Rish was absolutely amazing. He's a local who grew up in the neighborhood so he knows everyone and everyone knows him. He speaks very well and clearly. He's incredibly knowledgeable about the food, the wine, the culture, the history and everything in between. If you come to Rome and don't do this tour you didn't experience the true Rome....WHEN IN ROME. I will forever recommend this tour and our amazing guide Rish!!

Hello Hello, I recently visit sunny Rome where I join an eating Italy tour that just was what I was looking for. The sample foods we tried around the Testaccio neighborhood were delicious. It started from pizza to fresh brochetta to savory cold meats with aged cheeses, visiting the local market where fresh produce was like a Miguel Angelo painting. We had creamy pasta with excellent Italian wine and of course the gelato dessert was unbelievable . The company of a good tour guide was even better! Real Roman food background were revealed to us which proved that the Italian cuisine is one of the best in the planet. Eating Europe thanks for a memorable time

Wow! What a wonderful welcome to Roma this food tour was. Giuseppe was knowledgeable, friendly, hilarious… just delightful. He took care of our group impeccably. People joined the tour from all over and we all enjoyed a communal experience with the best that Travestere has to offer. The black wine…. Oh the black wine. So delicious!

Tour guide: Edma Edma was AMAZING! Such a wonderful experience. We were a group of 12 and Edma was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the history of the area and the food. We had 6 spots. The food and drinks were amazing at every restaurant. Edma explained the importance of the food and the history behind each dish. It made this experience unforgettable! Would 110% recommend this tour to any friends and family looking for a local Italy experience.

This tour was incredible! Samples were plenty, and we stopped at places I might not have ventured in otherwise. Our guide Kat was full of fun facts, and it was obvious that she loves this food and culture. I can't wait to do another tour!

This was our third Food Tour with Eating Europe- we keep booking these tours when we travel because they are fantastic! We had a family of 8 and each one said this was a highlight of our trip to Rome. So much food! So much laughter! So much information! Luca was an excellent communicator: telling us stories, jokes and helping us to understand the dishes we ate.He even memorized all of our names! I highly recommend Luca as a tour guide and Eating Europe as the best experience!

Giuseppe was our tour guide and he did a wonderful job. We had a great mixed group and in addition to the excellent food at every stop we enjoyed great conversation and an all around great experience. At each stop we had excellent food, great service and a real VIP experience. Giuseppe was very knowledgeable and he fostered great interactions among the group and with the staff of each establishment we visited. Thank you Giuseppe for a great experience in an amazing city. Well done ! !

Had the absolute pleasure to join the taste of Testaccio Rome food tour with Luca yesterday. What an awesome experience that was. Firstly the places picked were perfect from the place itself to the food we ate. Secondly, Luca was absolutely fantastic and made the tour special. He was full of knowledge from culture to history to food. He shared amazing information and was very entertaining. I highly recommend this tour to anyone in Rome. We discovered so many hidden gems. Merci Luca

The taste of testaccio tour is a must try experience. Luca was entertaining, knowledgeable and very savvy with the great food that he took us through on the tour. We got to try pizzas, prosciutto, pastas, sandwiches, gelato and more on this 4 hour tour, and it kept us wanting more. But what made this experience even richer was his stories about the historical origins of the food and the testaccio region. Do yourself a favour and get yourself into a spot to taste Rome like a local.

We did the Twilight Trastevere tour on our first night in Rome and it was such a great introduction to the city! We had Eric as our guide. We were a pretty big group of about 20 people and I felt he really took the time to get to know everyone and was so personable! We really enjoyed him. The food was obviously all amazing and learning about this historic neighborhood was priceless. Everyone staying in Rome NEEDS to do this tour.

Taste of Testaccio - This walking food tour came highly recommended and I can see why. Arturo was a wonderful guide - very personable and funny with a quick laugh - as well as well versed in the many variations of delicious Roman food. He had a great rapport with all the shopkeepers, who were very welcoming to our small group. All the food was delicious, but I was especially impressed with the 15 year old red vinegar - so good. But the finale was the best - real gelato topped with whipped cream from a century-old machine. Yum! And we made some great new friends as well! Ciao.

Just finished an eating tour with Luca and it was simply the best. We have been Italy for more than 2 weeks and have done 4 eating tours, and this one is the best by miles. All the stops were great and the quality of food we sampled were simply sublime. The walk around Trastevere itself was a nice way to see a beautiful part of Rome, but it’s a real bonus to have Luca giving us lots of interesting facts about the area and the food we tasted. He’s a really interesting character and his humour made the tour fun, everyone on the tour had fun. Highly recommended, you won’t regret it!

The tour was great. The walking wasn’t too difficult - would be doable for any age. The food was excellent - well-balanced and plentiful. The wine/beer pairings were nice. I liked that we weren’t rushed at any spot. And, best of all, Luca was excellent. He kept a perfect pace, engaged everybody, remembered names, and told great stories along with interesting info about the area.

Our tour was incredible by itself, because of the sights, food, and wine, but it’s really our guide, Caroline, that made the tour so special. First of all, she might be the most popular person in Rome - everyone seemed to know and love her! Second of all, she was so incredibly knowledgeable and engaging! I can’t recommend highly enough!

Fabio hosted an exceptional food tour. The experience was one of the highlights of my time in Rome. The sights, culinary and discussions are very engaging for all groups. In my tour alone, we had a mother and son, retired husband and wife and a young couple. The tour was set up as follows: intro, breakfast, charcuterie and vino, market, lunch, and desert. In between each activity is a short walk during which Fabio shares tons of information regarding the cuisine, history and culture of Rome. I would advise against eating prior because you’ll be fed plenty. Highly recommend.

I can not say enough about this tour and our guide Daniel! The entire voyage felt like it was made just for us. The food, the wine and locations were incredible! Amazing views of Rome and lots of cultural information about the people and history of Rome. If I knew how great this tour was gonna be I would have booked it every night I planned on being in Rome. We went from eating at a sidewalk cafe, then up to one of the highest points in Rome. Then another beautiful restaurant to have meat and cheese with spritzers followed by a beautiful roof top restaurant where we ate the most amazing pasta and teramisu. just when we thought it was over we got one more spot and for some amazing gelato. Worth every penny!

This tour was exceptional. Giuseppe was fun, knowledgeable, and experienced. He provided much historical background to the location and food we were eating and brought in his own southern Italian life and childhood. He was very engaging and the owners of all the places we went to seemed to enjoy him as much as we did. And the food was amazing. You got it all right. Prego.

We had a great time on this food tour with Valentia as our guide. Each of the six food stops provided an authentic Roman / Italian food. Most stops had wine, beer was offered once. The wines were explained and the pairings went well with the food. Sodas and water were also available. Loved that most restaurants were family owned. We also learned a little of the history of the area which added to the overall experience. Highly recommend!

A friend of ours recommended Eating Europes Trastevere Twilight Food Tour. They raved about it so we had high expectations. They were met and then some on our tour. Our tour guide Georgia was fun, knowledgeable, and engaging and guided us through this fascinating and delicious tour. We made about 5 stops and enjoyed truly unique food and wine at each location. Though we arrived at the tour a bit drained from a long day of touring, all of that was forgotten by the time we reached our first stop and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the tour. Can’t recommend this tour enough!

Val was the most amazing guide! She was knowledgeable and charismatic. I felt immersed in Italian culture and welcomed. I learned a lot of history about food and wine and Val was so friendly and sincere. She was considerate of my elderly grandparents who were also walking with the group and fun and lively at the same time. This was the highlight of my trip to Italy and I would recommend this tour to everyone.

We are in Rome for 3 days and was looking for something fun to do. My fiancee saw this tour and signed up. The tour is a pretty lengthy walking tour making 7 stops all around Trastevere. The time seems to have went really fast as we stopped for unique food and at times paired with wine. Our tour guide LUCA was great! He was very knowledgeable and funny. He provided history and stories at each stops about the food we were tasting. He also made it a personal experience with having the group meet the owners of the local shops we stopped by. It was great learning about the food and meeting the family for the unique food. As far as the food, every stop was unique and tastes were unbelievable. We would have never known the food without taking this tour. Well worth the price. If you can, ask to tour with LUCA and will make the tour special!

Wow, what an amazing experience. I have to admit that I never was a huge fan of italian cuisine but this changed during our food tour. The quality and taste of all meals/snacks was really outstanding and not comparable to the standard "tourist restaurants". You learn a lot about where to eat and drink in Rome, too. Highly recommended!

We did the Twilight Trastevere tour. This was one of our favorite experiences while in Italy! Our tour guide was Kat, and she was fantastic!!! Very passionate and enthusiastic about the experience as well as fun and organized! She was a friendly host, making sure everyone felt included in the tour. Food was amazing!!!! We did this early in our trip and ended up going to one of the spots on the tour for dinner later in the trip. Highly recommend this tour! Good variety of food stops all paired with drinks. A wonderful way to spend an evening in Rome!

Husband and I did this tour w/ 11 other patrons. This tour is not for someone w walking issues. Many steps and inclines needed. We had a couple slow people on the tour and it was painful walking at the level of the slowest person. Tour could have been 30 mins less if there was more pep in the walking. Overall our guide was nice (Gionluca) -- an educated local w excellent English as a first language. My only suggestion would be to present information more neutral and non-biased versus the added spin of his opinions on local/cultural matters. Food was a great variety.

We went on two Eating Italy tours in Rome and had a wonderful time with both. The tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable, and strike a good balance between history, cultural, foodie information, and just relaxing and chatting. It was like having a local friend show us around and give us tips on how to find great food. All of the food we had was wonderful, and as vegetarians we had plenty of good options.

I was looking for something to suprise my wife for our anniversary celebration while visiting Rome and decided to give the Twilight Trastevere Food Tour a shot. I am so glad I chose this tour. We had an enjoyable evening walking around the Tratevere area. (Thanks to our guide Luca, we now know that Trastevere means "the other side"). We enjoyed all of the different samples of food, wine, and beer. It was a huge hit with the wife which made it even better. Luca, was an excellent guide and gave us a lot of history of the area as well as the history of different locations we visited. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves and made us all feel welcome. I would recommend this tour if you're looking for an evening out and are looking to sample some of the many tastes of Rome.

Luca was AMAZING!! He was so friendly, kind, knowledgeable and so funny! He was familiar and friends with all the locals and so easy to get along with. He accommodated everyone’s preferences included one of the guests who was gluten intolerant (which is hard to do in italy). I can’t sing Luca’s praises more. It felt like getting a tour with a friend not a tour guide. If you’re going on this tour request Luca! You won’t be disappointed! Thanks Luca! We’ll be back :))

The Trastevere Walking Food Tour was suggested by a friend before we left home. Although we didn’t know which particular company or which tour guide, I did some research and found this tour. I got incredibly lucky & made a great choice by chance. Our tour guide, Luca, was amazing. He was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and extremely funny. Luca made us all feel like we were close friends. And, he imparted, incredibly good information along the way; history, architecture, archeology and lots of random facts. Not only that, the restaurants he took us to were each special in some particular way. Throughout the evening, the food and the wine was delicious. This tour, without a doubt, was a highlight of our entire trip. I strongly encourage you to book this tour and get Luca for your tour guide. I promise you won’t be sorry.

I had an absolutely incredible experience with "Eating Italy" during their Twilight Trastevere Rome Food Tour! The tour took place on Tuesday, 18 July 2023, at 5:15 pm, and it was an evening filled with delightful surprises. Our guide, Luca, was the heart and soul of the tour. His vast knowledge, genuine passion, and witty humor made every step of the journey unforgettable. He effortlessly transported us through the rich history and local culture of Trastevere, making it feel like we were walking through living history. The seven stops on the tour were nothing short of amazing. Each one offered tantalizing tastings that left our taste buds dancing with delight. The portions were incredibly generous, ensuring we got a true taste of the delectable Roman cuisine. From mouthwatering traditional dishes to superb wines and beers, our palates were treated to a feast of flavors. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the selection of stops. We got to savor a diverse range of dishes and beverages, allowing us to truly experience the essence of the local culinary scene. If you're a food and history lover, the Twilight Trastevere Rome Food Tour with "Eating Italy" is an absolute must-do. It's a journey that will immerse you in the heart of Rome's gastronomic treasures, all while strolling through the enchanting streets of Trastevere. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to join another tour with "Eating Italy" on my next adventure! Bravo to Luca and the team for creating such an exceptional experience. Bon appétit and salute! 🍝🍷🍻🇮🇹

Fabio was a great host on this stroll around the streets of Rome, sampling some excellent food and wine. He made the tour very engaging and fun. The highlight of the food portion was the burrata right at the beginning, pork with 12 spices and the pizza stop. Pasta on the end however was disappointing. Overall highly recommend for anyone who is visiting for the first time as it is a great social way to explore the city.
