Misleading "exclusive early access vatican semi private tour with private option". You are made to believe that you will see the wonders of the Vatican without the crowds but this is far from the case. The tour is advertised as no more than 6 people but when you arrive at 7.30am at the meeting point there are hundreds of people waiting for LivTours (and even more for other companies). You are then broken up into smaller groups but it makes very little difference and the collective whole enters at the same opening time. I guess it still beats lining up after 9am but more transparency is required.

This tour was amazing, Guilia P was informative, friendly and knew exactly what the high points are so we could see the most with the short time we had. We had a surprise stop for breakfast which was nice to sit down for a few minutes. We were the first in line to go in, she was organized and we were able to hear well either the amplifier earpiece provided. The group was small, just 6 people which was a nice size. I highly recommend this tour group, the enthusiasm and love for the history was felt by all!!

We booked an early morning private Vatican tour and it was amazing. Emanuela was our guide, and as a historian she seemed to know everything. The details, the history, and the sights were just awe inspiring. Would highly recommend.

Our family of 4 did the golf cart tour around Rome with Andy to get an overview of the city. It was so ouch fun! Andy was warm, knowledgeable, and kept us and our kids (ages 6 & 9) interested. I’d highly recommend this tour for families to get an overview of Rome and background on some of the amazing sights in the area. Andy really went the extra mile to make the tour amazing for our family and we all had a great time!

We took two tours- one food tour and one sunrise walking tour. Both were fantastic! We loved the food tour as a way to learn about Rome and loved our tour guide, Jon who felt like our friend by the end. The sunrise tour was a lovely way to learn about Rome and a great time of day when the city isn’t crazy crowded. John, our guide was friendly and so knowledgeable. He also looked at our dinner wine menu and made a recommendation which was fantastic. Overall highly recommend Liv tours and will seek them out in each town we visit.

I love Liv tours. I’ve taken many tours over the years and liv tours far and beyond offers consistently higher quality tours. I’ve been on other tours with sketchy, incomplete information or with guides who barely speak English. This has never been the case with LT. I’ve been fortunate to see the Vatican twice. The first was not Liv tours. It was surprising how better organized and the improved quality of the content with the LT experience. This spring I’ll be taking my grandson to Italy and will be taking multiple LTs in Venice, Florence and Rome. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly and committed to providing accurate historical information in an interesting manner. They also are happy to take photos that are taken with care. Not just randomly shot. I highly recommend this company.

What an amazing and unique experience in Rome! We did the early morning Vatican tour and it did not disappoint. Cannot recommend this tour enough! Giovanni was the BEST guide! He made the several hour tour go by so quickly with his humor, unique perspective, stories and personality! This was recommended by my best friend as a must do and she was 100% correct. We hope to be back in the future very soon and will share this amazing experience with our friends and family back at home. 10/10 a MUST DO in Rome if you want to see the Vatican without so many of the people! Thank you Giovanni for making our tour that much better by being you!

All I can say is “wow!” What an incredible tour. Our tour guide Luca was 100 percent the best! I highly recommend him to anyone taking a tour. He also gave us great tips on local food that was delicious. He was knowledgeable and entertaining the entire time. I also can’t stress enough how much better the semi private tour is than a conventional one. I have done many tours and this one was truly the best!

We went to Rome Oct 24th 2023 and went to the Vatican. Absolutely amazing tour. However as amazing the tour was our guide was better. Julia was our tour guide. Ask for her she is fabulous. Julia is knowledgeable and funny and keeps thing going. She is an exceptional teacher and person. Finally there was a potential situation while we were in the chapel. As guards closed it down around us she got us out of a possibly really bad situation. JULIA IS THE BEST. Please ask for her!

What an amazing tour. The architecture, craftmanship, and detail of everything we saw, can't be put into words. Our tour guide, Laura, was extremely friendly with a great sense of humor. She was so incredibly informed about everything related to our destinations, there wasn't a question she couldn't answer (in fact we had very few questions because her knowledge covered pretty much everything). At one point the audio devices we were using malfunctioned. Laura contacted someone in the office who immediately attended to our location and rectified the problem. When it was time for lunch, she suggested a restaurant that was both tasty and quick. The only suggestion I would've had is to adjust the schedule slightly to accommodate an earlier lunch. It is a long day, I will say that. The entire tour (including lunch) was approximately 8 hours and we walked approximately 7 miles in 37 degree (felt like 42) weather. Something to keep in mind if you have younger children/early teens or seniors. Overall an incredible experience that our whole group would highly recommend!

Had a fantastic private golf cart tour of Rome with Michael! We chose to start our trip to Rome this way to give us an overview, get our bearings and then defended after that what to go back to to further explore. Michael was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything! And great sense of humor, too! We were able to customize our tour to add in what we wanted to do. Should highly recommend using LivTours!

Highly recommend Liv Tours! We did a Colosseum tour with Mattel and a Vatican tour with Mary. Both guides were excellent tour guides, expert navigators, friendly, and so knowledgable!!! Our Colosseum tour was a small group tour, but ended up with just my partner and me. Loved seeing the undergrounds and asking as many questions as I wanted. I can’t imagine going to the Colosseum and not doing the underground part, very interesting! Also, the Forum and Palatine Hill were fascinating! The Vatican tour we did was in the afternoon and included the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peters. Our group lacked a good bit of basic knowledge, but Mary did a great job of educating us and meeting us where we were! Can’t imagine seeing with of these places without a tour guide, and ours from Liv Tours were AMAZING!!

An early morning tour of the Vatican & Chapel with Linda was well worth the early alarm call. Linda was a superstar from start to finish, her knowledge & guidance was amazing making sure I missed nothing! Thank you and would recommend to anyone not just for the experience but also missing those queues!!

We did the early morning semi-private Vatican Tour with Laura. It was our family of four and another couple. We were able to get in before all the crowds and stay a step ahead of them. No long lines or crowds. (We did see some other LivTours that were lining up but without early access, at first we were directed to that group but luckily found Laura first!) We had special access to some rooms which we really appreciated. Laura is a gem, so kind and knowledgeable. You could tell that everyone who greeted her from other guides to workers at the Vatican, have a great deal of respect for her. We feel so fortunate to have had this experience. Thank you!

We took two different tours with Liv Italy: One was a full day private "Rome in a Day" tour with guide Matteo who was wonderful. The other was a full day private tour to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast with Fabrizio driving and Marianna (I think?! We are having a hard time pinning her name down and not at all proud of it!) as our guide in Pompeii. They were both amazing as well! In Rome, our guide Matteo was professional, knowledgeable, patient, outgoing, and entertaining. There was a lot more walking in this tour than we anticipated but maybe should have known there would be?! We only had a car for a short time in the middle of the day which I didn't completely understand when booking. Another note which I wasn't aware of when booking that might be helpful for others is that while we started at the Colosseum (which was an easy walk from our Airbnb) we finished at the Vatican (which was not) so we needed an Uber back to where we started. That would be our only constructive criticism for Liv is to get folks back to where they started if possible. Overall, though, it was an awesome tour that hit all the highlights of Rome possible in the time allotted and was perfect for our little group of four. Loved the Colosseum floor walk, definitely a worthwhile add on! The second tour from Rome to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast (including a long lunch stop in Sorrento which is nice) and back was also incredible. Our driver, Fabrizo, was great and clearly knew his way around all the areas we went. He was very patient with us and shared all kinds of interesting information about Rome, Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, and the coast as we drove. Pompeii is truly incredible to visit and our guide there, Marianna (if we are recalling her name correctly; third photo, far left), was magnificent. She was clearly passionate about the place, the history, and her work and did a wonderful job of guiding us through in a relatively quick period of time. Couldn't have asked for a better sample of Rome/Pompeii/Amalfi Coast in two days than we got with these tours, guides, and drivers.

Katerina was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable when touring the last supper. It was truly incredible how she took us through the timeline and symbolism of the art piece and took time to really show a great deal of appreciation about what she was talking about. Few times do you find your guides as passionate as her! I am so happy we got paired with her for our tour.

Francesca absolutely ROCKED! We had a Rome golf cart tour with her, and she tailored it exactly to our liking. Besides seeing great sites, she also brought us by a brewery for a refreshment. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave you all of the little details and insights you don't get from an audible tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend her to anyone!

We booked a last-minute tour with LivTours because we really wanted to see the Colosseum underground and tickets were sold out through the main website. LivTour gave us the option to take a private tour with Marco and it was well worth the extra expense. We joined an Italian tour of the underground. We don't speak Italian, so Marco provided us with visuals on his iPad and thoughtfully explained the different things we were seeing after the Italian tour guide finished speaking. Back on the main level, Marco showed us some many unique elements of the Colosseum that we probably would have missed otherwise. He is one of the most knowledgable, straightforward and entertaining tour guides we've ever interacted with. Though Marco clearly had an outline, the tour flowed very naturally and felt like we were exploring the area with an old friend. He customized the time we spent together to make sure we ended in time to make a nearby lunch reservation.

Wow! We did the semi-private early morning Vatican tour and we couldn't have ended up with a better guide (Laura)! Laura clearly knew what she was doing and talking about. We weren't the first in queue lining up outside but somehow getting inside and receiving our passes, we walked into the museums themselves first. This meant we were at the front of the pack for every room we walked into, we got unobstructed photos and space to breathe! Laura was super knowledgeable and presented in a way that made it interesting. Thank you Laura & the Liv Tours team!

Chiara was the perfect guide for us as we toured the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum in a little more than 3 hours. We loved the historical explanations and connections to current times, the flexibility to customize where we spent time along the way, and the personal connection. We recommend LivTours and would use them again. ~12000 steps, ~5 miles, ~8 km. (Buona forchetta, Chiara!)

We are currently in Rome and experienced two very informative and interesting tours with LivTours. Dennis at the Coliseum was well versed in the rich history of the Coliseum and Forum. His English is excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon! Claudio at the Vatican today was also very informative and well- versed in the history of the church and the art associated with it! We highly recommend LivTours and will definitely use them again in the future! Thank you for enriching our trip to Italy!

On 12/24/22 we had 2 tours. In the morning we had the Colosseum with underground arena and Gladiator Gate. Our guide was Maria. She was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and made the tour a great experience. We were lucky to have such a wonderful guide. In the afternoon we headed to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel tour with Massimo. This man knew what he was talking about and completely engaged my teenagers. He was funny and made us really enjoy his tour. I highly recommend Liv Tours! Bravo!

We have booked two yours with LivTours while in Rome. We did the first the other day and it was a semi-private tour of the Colloseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Our guide Coomba was very knowledgable and you cen tell she loves what she does. Even with four people though sometimes it was hard to hear due to the crowds. An earpiece on busy days would be good or no “walking and talking” ;0) We saw everything we wanted to and learned so much including extra things we should see and do while in the city - Thank you Coomba and good luck with your exams!

We booked the Coliseum semi private tour, Gladiators Gate and Arena floor after our original booking was cancelled last minute by another tour operator. As this was to be the highlight of our Rome trip, it was stressful and disappointing so how refreshing to find LivTours! Their response time and support were excellent. Our tour guide was Marco. I have been lucky enough to visit the Coliseum several times but with Marco, I discovered many new interesting facts. Marco was passionate, thorough and his knowledge was outstanding, along with a great sense of humour. He brought the Coliseum and Forum to life for our party of 6. Thank you Marco snd LivTours, Highly recommended! Karen Puddefoot, Kent UK

Fantastic tour company - small tours make all the difference! We did the Colosseum and Vatican tours, both were perfection. Highly recommend for travellers who want to learn, not just take photos, you get tailored information from passionate experts. Will be using again next time we are in Europe!
