And the award for Spain's most grumpy waiter goes to... Wiped the tables of the Spanish speaking visitors as they sat down but not ours. I can only apologise for ruining his morning that day...

Very good food, decent prices and helpful staff. Best choice for a simple Spanish meal, near the town defense walls.

Tasty tapas for a reasonable price. Outside the touristy zone that adds another benefit.

Filled up on an enormous tuna sandwich, grilled shrimp, and tortilla de patatas, plus beer, for €8.70. Got treated to a bunch of ancient Spanish men yelling at an even older one and accusing him of being a Francoist. Not a single other tourist in the place. 10/10 would do again. Make sure you speak decent Spanish, this is a thoroughly local establishment.

Eat with the locals and choose of of a huge selection of mini sandwiches (“Montaditos”) or some tapas! English menu. I loved it there.

A nice place to stop in and get a drink or tapas. The food is good and prices are better. I have eaten at Bar Sánchez dozens of times and everything I have tried from the menu was good.

It's in a nice location but the food was nothing to write home about. I was astonished at what I got after ordering the milkshake - a small carton of strawberry-flavoured milk. Kind of a let down, if I'm honest.

Tapas priced at 1.5 euros each that include many local fares (stews etc). Foods are delicious. Service was slow though. Sit back, relax and enjoy the view of the gate on a hot summer day.

Wow what AMAZING tapas food and the BEST coffee I’ve had in Spain so far. We had octopus salad, tongue, chorizo and asparagus tapas. The bar is a bit hidden below the Gateway to the old town

came here every other day for breakfast as i was staying next door. lovely spot to read a book and enjoy the sun with some good honest food.
