My
wife
and
I
were
able
to
book
a
tour
on
short
notice
with
Gema,
the
owner!
30€
per
person
for
tastings
paired
tapas
freshly
prepared
by
Gema
herself.
15€
for
our
kids
with
soft
drinks
included.
On
arrival,
we
were
greeted
by
Tinto
(vineyard
dog)
and
Gema.
We
toured
the
vineyard,
crushpad,
fermentation,
press,
bottling
and
barrel
room
before
checking
out
the
area
where
they
keep
their
library
wines.
We
tasted
on
a
patio
overlooking
the
vineyards
at
a
sturdy
table
with
comfortable
chairs.
Our
first
tasting
was
the
Cloe
Chardonnay:
crisp
citrus
acidity
with
wet
stone
on
the
mid
palate
with
a
hint
of
salinity
though
round
on
the
finish
due
to
a
percentage
of
the
wine
being
aged
in
oak.
Cloe
Rosado
of
Garnacha
tinta:
pale
salmon,
a
la
Provence,
good
structure,
medium
acidity,
a
real
palate
pleaser
with
ample
fruit
and
clean
finish
(Noelle's
favorite).
Encaste:
a
Young
red
wine
with
ample
tannin
and
fruit,
similar
in
many
house
reds
here
in
Spain.
Great
value
that
can
be
enjoyed
now
or
likely
cellared
for
some
time
if
you
prefer
aged
wines.
At
a
minimum
a
good
candidate
for
decanting.
Chinchilla:
Tempranillo
with
good
acidity
and
some
barrel
aging,
mild
acidity
and
nice
and
dry.
Good
texture
on
the
mid
palate
with
lingering
finish.
Seis
+
Seis:
Tempranillo
and
Syrah.
9
months
oak
aged
2.5
years
in
the
bottle.
Super
dry
with
velvet
finish.
Double
doce.
Cabernet,
Merlot.
Cherries,
tight
tannins,
very
well
made
with
good
acidity,
this
one
will
age.
Short
notes
here,
you
really
need
to
visit
to
appreciate.
Tapas
pairings
were
spot
on
(see
photos).
A
must
visit
for
wine
lovers.
Buen
provecho!
