(Translated by Google) It is a baroque construction from the 18th century, being one of the most outstanding works of Andalusian religious architecture due to its baroque fullness and ornate ornamentation. It also incorporates the first nuances of the neoclassical style, showing sobriety in its exterior structure. It is laid out in a Latin cross with a wider central nave. Like other Andalusian temples, it was built on the remains of an old Arab mosque that already existed during the reconquest. The chronicles tell that the cross that the Infante brought in front of him was placed in the mosque, immediately becoming a church when blessed by the Bishop of Palencia, Don Sancho de Rojas, who accompanied Don Fernando.

Uroczy kościółek z małą częścią muzealną na zakrystii i licznymi rzeźbami.

Amazing! It was a very special day, ‘Corpus Christi’! Accidentally we ran into such a holiday event in the village, the streets, walls in the town center were fully covered with grasses and flowers! Stunning scene! The village performs an unique way to celebrate this holiday. Peoples are nicely dressed, laughing, loudly chatting...impressive!

This lady healed my leg. I think it is called a miracle. I have two witnesses who can verify that before entering the church I could hardly walk and when I left I could run. I hope I am not starting a pilgrimage to this tiny chapel.

(Translated by Google) I was a bit disappointed in the town in general. It also accompanied that just the day I went there was a tent that covered part of the church.

(Translated by Google) Nice church, the visit costs €1, it has a choir and an organ that I did not expect in a church in a town like Zahara, the altarpiece is very nice and it has a small "museum" with old books and clothes. Recommended. Recomendado.

(Translated by Google) The Church is very beautiful both inside and outside, it is located at one end of the plaza under a large rock that makes it extremely attractive. The interior is very cozy and beautiful. The negative point is the lady who stands at the door asking for "donations". Anyway it is worth visiting.

No te arrepentirás.

👍 A pleasant small nature pool has hidden inside the mountain. A side way out of mountain road where is easily skipped. It’s late June and the parking lots are fully occupied!
