There we were driving around aimlessly exploring the beautiful Ronda countryside when we stumbled across this absolutely beautiful natural place. The water is clean and clear. When you walk under the railway bridge it opens up into the most stunning natural pools in the area. I would advise visiting this place during the week as I am sure at the weekends every man and his dog will be there.

I went may 2021 and the bridge to cross was knocked down, so to be able to cross the river, you had to walk over some stones in the water. There was a high risk of falling in the cold water. Quite inaccessible unless you are quite brave and/or fit. Once you cross the river you arrive at the waterfall and bathing area in less than 5 minutes. So really it's better as a picnic space to spend the day. Not a hike at all. It can get busy, so arrive early.

This is not just a cave but also a small lake in which you can bathe and have a picnic. Parking is with a gate and costs only 1 euro in cash (machine). The water is freezing but maybe on a very hot day it's a nice refreshing break. As to the cave - you cannot (not allowed) to go inside it. You can only admire it from the opening, which is accessible (but not officially ) if you climb and take a short rocky path (which might be slippery so be careful). From there you have a beautiful view of the lake and the cave!

Very beautiful area, amazing views and clean water. We were able to swim even though it was super cold water. 1€ parking is available next to the cave. Recommend!

Exceptionally clean and what an experience. Nature at its best. Water is freezing and would recommend doing this on a warm day. We were charged 2 euro entrance, but there is no additional facilities like changing rooms or restrooms. Would definitely go again as it was beautiful.

An amazing little hidden gem about half an hour out of Ronda. Incidentally there is a massive few fields full of sunflowers on your way there which is amazing too. There is a crude car park on the top of a HL with a parking attendant (€1 no time limit). Walk down the hill and there's a porta-loo which was free when we went. It looks like they're building a proper footpath to cross the river, but as of July '19 you have to cross over a few large rocks as stepping stones, so no wheelchair access as of yet. Follow the footpath parallel to the river around a corner and there's a lady with a float box, it's €2 each entry. There are no signs saying that you need to pay, so make sure you take the coins with you before you leave the car. There is a lifeguard there too. The pool is a rocky bottom so if you have water shoes they would come in handy. The water is the coldest I have ever experienced! Such an amazing place, definitely worth the drive out.

Worth to visit. Nice breath of cold on very hot day. Water is extremely cold. I felt pain in arms after swimming. 2022 August. The caves were closed.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area, especially if you're hot and want to cool off! Make sure you bring a €1 coin for the parking - there is a barrier to enter which only accepts coins. It's a 5-10 minute walk down a steep hill to get to the pool itself. We went in the afternoon on a weekday in early July and it was very busy. The water is cold and stings at first but you do get used to it and then it's really lovely. It's possible to go fully in for a swim, as well as dive in from a ledge if you're feeling brave!

Be ready to climb a bit, take non-slipery shoes - rocks always wet. Internal part of the cave hardly accessible. Water in the lake is really cold.

Nice place to discover if you are driving by. The bridge broke during a flood so you need to wade over the river, just take off your shoes and walk, it's super easy. We were here in May 2022, no people on a Tuesday. It's a super short walk to the cave. It's really nice but not worth a detour in my opinion.

Nice cave. The water is freezing cold. I would guess the temperature was about 5 degrees. Way to many people to enjoy it though. If you’re staying close by I would go. But the 2 hours from Fuengirola I would not recommend!

There is parking areas- not very big- no wheelchair accessible. Wooden ramps and dusty rocky path leads to the waterfalls, but they are not visible due to vegetation. Water is cristal clear and cold. Perfect for a hot summer day and the bold ones that dare to take a dive or a swim. Very rocky lake. Bring Water shoes for the lake. Not really a place to lay down a towel and buoy the sun trough the many shadows under the trees, due to the roots. Nearby short path to explore.

Walk down to the small lake beneath the cave. If it's warm enough..have a swim. There are signs indicating that you cannot climb up to the mouth of the cave ( What's the point of not being able to see it properly!!!)...but...people do and it isn't difficult. We went in October....lovely weather and hardly a soul in the place. Wonderful

Stunning area. Well worth a walk there. We were staying in nearby Benojan, its a nice half hour walk along the river to the cave. The cave is closed off but still worth walking up to. Didn't go in the water, it was too crowded, it seems to be very popular with teenagers. Beautiful area to hike

Nice place. Locals use it as a beach. Water very cold but refreshing if outside is 39. Bring your water shoes since the riverbed is full of stones.

The pool in front of the cave is beautiful. It's a great place to relax and dip in the FREEZING water. It's too bad that the cave is closed. No reason or signage is given.

Stunning natural beauty and refreshing cold water swimming in extreme hot temperatures. Well worth visiting

A cool haven in the middle of the vast hot spanish fields. Very pleasent to relax and enjoy the refreshing waters from a spring nearby. Entering the cave itself is entering a refrigerator: in the space of 5 meters, you can from 35°C to around 15°C: true story! I'm giving 4 stars because it's a bit too overcrowded in summertime. It's worth a visit nonetheless!

the water is cold but very refreshing on a hot day

Relaxing zone to chill out. The water is very cold and the temperature differences here in the cave is ~10-15°C different than above

  • 4/5 Igor F. 4 years ago on Google
The cave is closed for tourists, but the river which is coming out of it is picturesque and suitable for swim on a hot day. There was no entrance fee at the end of October - perhaps due to the ruined bridge, But it is easy to walk across the river over big stones.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Amazing surroundings. A shame that the cave was closed due to an accident, other than that, beautiful.

Good place for a picnic or to hide from the heat for a couple of hours. Ice cold water. You can't go inside the cave without a tour.
