The Giraffe Manor is an amazing place. We have been waiting for years for this day. The day we arrived my wife was in tears. Tears of Joy that we are finally aboard. We were received and welcomed by the General Manager Mr Frank. He was very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He also took us on a wonderful tour of the Retreat. The facility is truly breathtaking. Our stay has been a truly magnificent one that we will forever cherish. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. XXX

Very beautiful place but unfortunately very racist I didn't even know they didn't allow local Kenyans reservations up until the pandemic and only because no foreigners were allowed in the country. Disgusting behavior

I donโ€™t advise anyone spending a fortune and getting behaved really badly by the management. The giraffes are โ€œemployedโ€ part time here (between 6-9 am and 5-7 pm) when the Giraffe Centre is closed. Without Giraffes, the level of the service or the staying experience is not better than a 3 star all-inclusive hotel. Donโ€™t go and be a part of animal commercialization.

Absolute disaster of service, we arrived at the Hotel hoping to make a booking and the staff was the rudest I have ever seen in my 35 years or traveling. She let us stand in the rain instead of offering us an option to book a stay or see the property, and proceeded to indicate to go to the website or call โ€“ both of which hadnโ€™t worked as we had attempted to do so. The Duty Manager phone number, supposedly for emergencies, also didnโ€™t work. I am absolutely outraged that a place like this designates itself as โ€œhospitality.โ€ Never again.

This was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint! Lawerence got me a great room (Betty room). I had issues at the airport and the driver waited over an hour and a half for me. I arrived later than expected and nearly missed the festivities. I came to find out that because of when I was leaving, I would also miss breakfast with the giraffes. I was so sadden and even tried to change my departure to a later time but to no avail. William and Tony made accommodations to wake Geoffrey the giraffe up and gave me the Instagram worthy shots at the breakfast table. I had this joy all to myself at 5:30AM while everyone was asleep. Geoffrey was also happy as he was the early "bird " with all the worms! It's an experience I will never forget and will encourage everyone to visit.

This place was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. It is expensive but it was worth every penny. The staff were amazing along with the food and drink. The giraffes are all wonderful with their own personalities and are delightful to feed. Well worth a visit.

Yes, the property is gorgeous. Yes, you get to have multiple interactions with the giraffes (and feed them from your bedroom window if youโ€™re fortunate enough to get one of the rooms with direct access). Yes, there is a lovely pool and spa and other activities that can be arranged (visiting the elephant orphanage, nature walks, etc.). Yes, the food is delicious. All make for an incredible experience. But what makes Giraffe Manor truly worth the price is the staff. Everyone we encountered was so kind, friendly, and accommodating. Every effort was taken to ensure we felt welcome and well taken care of. The attentiveness and professionalism of the staff takes this property from feeling a bit like a gimmicky splurge to a reasonably priced luxury experience. A special thank you to William for taking such great care of us!

My stay here was just pure bliss and my only disappointment was my departure. You definitely need to book in advance and experience the spa during your stay. The staff is amazing. I was especially surprised and satisfied with the accommodations made for my dietary restrictions (vegan). Each dish they prepared was tasty and full of flavor. I canโ€™t wait to visit again.๐Ÿฆ’

An absolutely magical place! The retreat is wonderful with a gorgeous pool overlooking the grounds with giraffes and warthogs wandering by. Hot tub, steam room, sauna and itโ€™s own fantastic restaurant made the retreat the highlight of my visit. The food and cocktails were lovely too, and such friendly staff. All round loved it.

Giraffe Manor in Nairobi is a unique and unforgettable hotel experience that is perfect for animal lovers and anyone seeking a charming and tranquil retreat. The hotel is situated in a 140-acre indigenous forest and is home to a herd of endangered Rothschild's giraffes, which roam freely on the grounds and often poke their heads into the windows of the manor to say hello to guests. The manor itself is a beautifully restored 1930s mansion, with spacious rooms and elegant furnishings that evoke a sense of timeless luxury. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. One of the highlights of staying at Giraffe Manor is the opportunity to interact with the giraffes up close and personal. Guests are encouraged to feed them from the second-floor breakfast room or the ground-floor terrace, and there are plenty of photo opportunities to capture the unique experience. In addition to the giraffes, the hotel also has a number of resident warthogs and bushbucks that add to the wildlife experience. The food at Giraffe Manor is exceptional, with fresh and locally sourced ingredients that are expertly prepared by the talented chefs. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the elegant dining room or out on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Overall, Giraffe Manor is an exceptional hotel that offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience. It's perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat, as well as animal lovers who want to get up close and personal with these majestic creatures. Highly recommended!

I stayed here for 2 nights and had the most incredible holiday of my life. Everything was impeccable: the food, the room, and the service. We had a three course meal every lunch and dinner that rivals some of the best restaurants Iโ€™ve been to. I stayed in Daisyโ€™s room and had a private feeding with the giraffes every morning (a dream come true). It was lovely to go to the retreat and relax in the steam room and jacuzzi. The decoration and style of both the main building and retreat is incredible. It was worth the cost of staying here, especially when you put away your camera for a bit and just enjoy the experiences with the giraffes. We booked 2 years in advance and there was only one room left. My time here was just incredible!

An absolute dream come true! Worth the hype? Absolutely! Though the time was short (one night), the service superseded the expectations. Though I had no doubt the staff and the property would wow us, it was just really well done. We were lucky to have three interactions with the giraffes during our visit. Once at high tea time, waking up (6AM) and at breakfast. The meals were so filling, lunch and dinner were both with plenty of options- you will not go hungry, thatโ€™s for sure! Our personal staff member, Faith was an absolute delight to have cater to us & our needs. She made sure to take PLENTY of photographs that will be treasured forever. The room/bathroom (LYNN) were quite spacious and it is visibly and thoroughly cleaned. The laundering service was fantastic, same day service. We also decided to visit the spa and retreat center, the services were amazing. The only downside to the pool is that the water is quite frigid. I couldnโ€™t have asked for a better experience.

Extraordinary experience you will never forget!! Also the staff is so super kind. They are excellent in hospitality and give you a warm welcome. They make sure you get more than enough time with the giraffes. Also the food is delicious. Yes, it is expensive but it is worthwhile. Wauwโ€ฆ

Words cannot describe the beauty and magnificence of this property and the wonderful people!! If you have the pleasure of meeting Patrick then rejoice in the amazing opportunity you have been given. This property is a true privilege and the gracefulness of the Rothschild giraffe should be cherished!

It's a unique and unforgettable experience. I woke up for sunrise and couldn't believe my eyes. A giraffe in front of my window looking at me. This place should be on everyone's bucket list. The staff is amazing. I was especially surprised and satisfied with the accommodations made for my dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free). Each dish they prepared was tasty and full of flavor.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this experience is! Flawless service, way more time with giraffes than I could possibly have expected, amazing spa/pool/bar. The rooms are well appointed, beds with mosquito nets, most rooms have excellent porches at just the right height to safely feed giraffes right at dawn. You'll never find another experience like this, worth booking years in advance!!!

I visited this place in summer of 2022. One word sums it up - Amazing. From the airport pickup to the grounds, to the staff, to the follow-up from Lawrence on my stay. While it is not cheap, I will still stay here again as everything about the experience was worth it, in my opinion. :)

This is absolutely one of the best experiences you will ever have in your life. The proximity you have to these majestic animals is not something you will be able to experience anywhere else in the world. And in addition to that you are staying in the most beautiful property and being waited on attentively, to the very highest standards. The staff are absolutely incredible and you truly feel the warmth of being welcomed into a home. Thank you Richard and Tony from the management team for all of your help. This was a dream come true.

This is definitely a once in a life time experience. Almost everything was included in our stay. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to get you anything you may have needed. The grounds and rooms were beautiful. We were able to visit the adjoining sanctuary before high tea. The only thing I'd have to say was that the meals were not that great....but everything else was.

This is an amazing place, great rooms, fantastic service but the main reason to stay is the unique experience with the giraffes at the manor. You hand feed them and get to understand these magnificent animals. Oh and the food was incredible too. Jambo!

This was on my bucket list, and it did not disappoint! It was very expensive but it was worth every penny. It is a small property (12 rooms), so it remains very exclusive. You have to make your reservation at least a year in advance. From the time you enter the property, someone was waiting to greet you. We were met by the manager and her staff with cool towels and glasses of juice. I was in the Karen Blixen suite. It was a two bedroom suite, and it was beyond spectacular. Our butler karina was the sweetest and kindest person. she made sure all our needs were attended to. She was with us from the moment we arrived until we left. The afternoon tea was beyond charming. The Giraffe were so amusing. They all had different personalities, and it was pure joy to watch and interact with them. The food was delicious, and you could order anything and everything on the menu. All the drinks were included with our stay. We were athis joy all to myself at 5:30AM while everyone was asleep. Geoffrey was also happy as he was the early "bird " with all the worms! It's an experience I will never forget and will encourage everyone to visit.

The most amazing place. If you ever get a chance to go- make sure you do not pass it up! Not only is a once in a lifetime experience to be with the giraffes, the staff, service and food is amazing. I went out with a couple to do some photos of their elopement and had an amazing time.

Pricey, yes. Worth it? I think so. A beautiful, truly unforgettable experience. Not only are the giraffes incredible, but the manor is beautiful, the food amazing (they catered to my vegetarian diet which I really appreciated! Thank you!) and the staff was so kind.

I spent my 30th birthday at Giraffe Manor and was completely blown away. The food, accommodations and overall experience were far beyond my expectations. On night one, we paired with Rita who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable! She is honestly one of the kindest, warmest, most patient person Iโ€™ve ever met! She made sure to take the best photos of us, make sure we had everything we needed at all times and seriously was just a pleasure to be be around. I canโ€™t say enough positive things about her!! On night two we were paired with Faith who was equally awesome and made sure we got to get new photos in different poses, etc. and was also very kind and attentive. We stayed in the Betty room which was beautiful. The experience was worth every penny!

This small luxury hotel-mansion is the most beautiful thing that my wife and I have experienced in our lives. It fully justified my expectations! Unforgettable experiences feeding the giraffes early in the morning in front of your room, on the terrace, on the balcony and then at breakfast, when they come with their long necks through the windows and eat from the table and from your hand. Unreal photos! And afternoon tea with giraffe feeding and photoshooting. The whole atmosphere, the incredible peace in this beautiful old mansion, which has retained its authenticity, is spiced up with extremely professional and friendly staff at the highest possible level. They also put a lot of effort into food. In the evening, a bonfire was prepared for dinner. There was an additional small bonfire at each table to keep us warm. Very romantic! This beautiful manor has only 12 rooms, which are furnished or otherwise furnished as they were many years ago. But they have something I haven't seen anywhere! There is a special facility within the manor for all guests who have late-night flights. So you can spend the whole day in paradise with a swimming pool, a large garden with a view of the mansion, savannah and giraffes (wild boars also graze around all the time), a fitness center, a bar with a restaurant, a large room with a fireplace, and extremely large hotel rooms are also at your disposal. rooms where you can sleep or freshen up. In short, the complete experience is worth the high price, because it is a memory to last a lifetime. I highly recommend!

It is not often that one can describe a hotel experience as utterly magical, yet Giraffe Manor in Nairobi exceeds even that lofty descriptor. Blending luxury, conservation, and a touch of the whimsical, this remarkable establishment offers an experience that is genuinely one-of-a-kind. Unique Interaction with Wildlife The central attraction of Giraffe Manor is, of course, the incredible opportunity to interact with resident Rothschild's giraffes. To share breakfast with these magnificent creatures or to have them gently retrieve a treat from your hand is to experience a connection with the animal kingdom that is simply unforgettable. This once-in-a-lifetime encounter is orchestrated with utmost care for the animals, and their well-being is clearly the top priority. Accommodations The Manor itself is a beautifully preserved 1930s mansion, offering suites that perfectly encapsulate a bygone era of elegance. Each room is tastefully decorated with period furniture and offers stunning views of the surrounding gardens and the Nairobi skyline. Modern amenities are skillfully integrated into the historic setting, ensuring that comfort is in no way sacrificed for style. Dining Experience The culinary offerings at Giraffe Manor are a delightful fusion of local ingredients and international cuisines. Whether enjoying a sumptuous breakfast accompanied by a giraffe or a candle-lit dinner in the elegant dining room, each meal is an event unto itself. The staff's ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences is particularly commendable. Staff and Service The staff at Giraffe Manor are a crucial component of its charm. From the moment one steps onto the property, the level of personalized service is exceptional. Whether it's the warm greeting upon arrival, the insightful guided tours, or the unfailing attention to detail, the staff go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Overall Experience In summary, Giraffe Manor transcends typical luxury hotel offerings to deliver an experience that is both awe-inspiring and deeply touching. The magical blend of wildlife interaction, historical elegance, gourmet dining, and unparalleled service makes it a bucket-list destination that exceeds all expectations. It is not merely a place to stay but an experience that enriches the soul.

This place is an absolute dreamland! I had dreams of my days at giraffe manor after experiencing them in reality. This will forever be my happy place. The staff member Mutemi made our stay unforgettable. He made sure that we had every opportunity we possible could have with the giraffes and took absolutely amazing photos of us. The dinner that he served us in the magical orchid room was absolutely terrific. He is so thoughtful and kind. He has made all my dreams come true. He looked after us so well and we missed him on our second night. Mutemi is the best hotel employee I have ever come across.

The service and experience at the Giraffe Manor goes above and beyond. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and friendly, and constantly checking if we needed anything. Henry and Katrina were wonderful and looked after us from the moment we woke up until we went to sleep. Our room was clean and well stocked with filtered water and giraffe treats. Turn down service was a great plus and our laundry was cleaned promptly and delivered back to us quickly. We stayed in Betty's room, which has great views from the front of the manor to the Giraffe Centre and the side yard. We were able to feed the giraffes all morning from our room.

Giraffe Manor is worth every penny and I urge anyone coming to Kenya to make it part of their visit! The hotel and Manor is a gorgeous and historic property that is decorated so lovingly with English antiques and comfort. The rooms each had fireplaces and plenty of space with gorgeous views. The property is so well maintained with a beautiful courtyard garden, a greenhouse, a bocce court, a swing and more. It is great for exploring. However, it is only 10 or so rooms, so know that reserving in advance is key. Beyond the stunning property is the lovy staff and the giraffes. Afternoon tea with the giraffes is something so unique and social, and then they come back in the morning for breakfast. Wonderful for adults and kids over 8 or so.

This was always our favorite place to visit, however after covid, you're no longer allowed to "kiss"..aka mouth feed the giraffes. Something we always enjoyed before. Maybe one day..I just love giraffes!!

Beautiful place, really stunning house. Staff are amazing - super helpful and considerate. Amazing interaction with the giraffe. Food delicious - especially loved lunch in the courtyard. The pool at the Retreat is lovely too - especially at night!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Tony and William for their joy of living, their kindness and their benevolence. Thanks to you, we were able to realize a childhood dream. Everything was magical. We felt privileged with your little attentions. We are leaving on our little island of Reunion with glitter in our eyes. Gardenna x Yohann
