Very
disappointed
with
the
substandard
services
of
@LangataHospital
.
I
have
always
been
going
there
for
lab
tests
whenever
I
am
around.
But
25thDec
2023
is
the
last
time
me
and
many
other
will
step
foot
in
that
hospital.
I
walked
in
as
usual
for
some
lab
test
on
the
Christmas
Eve.
Lab
results
showed
positive
for
H.Pyroli
(but
no
symptoms
at
all)
and
amoeba.
I
booked
for
consultation
to
see
a
doctor
(Dr.
Callen
Oyunge)
I
was
prescribed
some
medication
which
were
sent
to
the
pharmacist
(I
wasn’t
given
anything
leaving
the
doctor’s
office).
I
requested
the
pharmacist
for
the
prescription,
which
was
Allucid,
Buscopan,
Sure
Kit
(Lansoprazole,
Clarithromycin
and
Tinidazole)
for
H.
Pylori
and
Tinidazole
(separate
dose).
Total
cost
for
this
medication
was
Kes.
7,645.
I
went
home
and
consulted
with
some
other
medics
on
what
I
had
been
prescribed.
I
was
really
in
doubt
with
this
diagnosis
because
as
previously
mentioned
I
did
not
have
any
symptoms
and
the
tests
were
precautionary
since
I
was
travelling.
I
went
back
to
the
see
the
same
doctor
the
next
night
and
requested
to
understand
why
I
was
given
all
this
medication.
H.
Pylori
is
a
bacterium
that
is
always
present
in
about
80%
of
the
population
especially
in
developing
countries
and
unless
it
there
are
certain
symptoms
that
is
when
ideally
it
should
be
treated.
Just
to
mention
the
H.
Pylori
kit
as
well
that
I
was
given
was
the
second
line,
that
is
if
you
have
previously
been
treated
for
H.
Pylori
infection
and
has
reoccurred.
The
first
line
should
be
amoxicillin,
clarithromycin,
and
esomeprazole.
So,
I
asked
the
doctor
why
she
had
given
me
an
antibiotic
kit
for
a
WHOLE
2
WEEKS
without
any
symptoms!!
I
also
asked
why
I
was
prescribed
tinidazole
twice
on
the
Sure
kit
and
as
a
separate
medication
(This
is
double
dosage!!).
I
also
asked
I
was
given
the
other
two
medications.
We
had
a
chat
for
about
15-20
mins,
and
we
agreed
that
the
medication
was
not
necessary,
and
she
took
them
back.
The
only
medication
that
we
agreed
on
was
the
doze
of
Tinidazole
to
treat
the
amoeba.
I
went
to
the
pharmacist
to
request
for
my
refund.
She
told
me
I
couldn’t
get
the
refund
now
as
the
finance
administrator/cashier
wasn’t
in,
however
she
stamped
my
receipt
that
I
should
be
refunded
Kes.
7,525.
My
flight
was
on
the
26th
so
I
couldn’t
make
it
personally
to
claim
back
my
refund
on
the
next
office
hours.
So,
I
sent
someone,
and
I
also
followed
with
a
phone
call.
To
my
surprise
the
cashier/finance
office
administrator
said
that
he
can’t
give
me
the
refund
and
we
should
speak
to
Dr.
Nick
who
is
the
head
of
medical
to
investigate.
I
spoke
to
Dr.
Nick
and
explained
what
had
happened.
I
even
explained
that
I
left
the
medication
with
the
doctor
and
all
I
wanted
was
the
refund
for
the
medication
left
behind
and
not
any
other
costs.
After
a
back
and
forth
for
a
few
days
with
Dr.
Nick
he
said
that
I
wouldn’t
get
my
refund.
He
said
that
the
doctors
said
that
I
left
the
medication
on
her
table
and
walked
away
(which
was
a
lie!).
I
walked
away
from
that
hospital
without
the
medication
and
my
money.
This
is
so
sad
in
that
this
is
what
an
ordinary
Kenyan
will
have
to
go
through.
This
is
broad
day
light
theft!!
I
am
lucky
that
Kes.
7,525
will
not
have
a
big
impact
on
me
financially.
But
what
about
that
hard-working
Kenyan
living
on
the
edge
with
the
high
cost
of
living?
What
if
I
had
to
take
the
double
dosage
of
Tinidazole
because
I
trusted
on
the
doctor’s
diagnosis
without
following
further?
Institutions
and
people
who
do
things
like
this
deserve
to
be
punished
to
the
full
extent
of
the
law.
Unfortunately,
that
rarely
happens.
