As I was just visiting the Maslow for an hour or two, I cannot rate the Service and Rooms. The overall rating of 4 stars is due to missing data in my experience at Maslow. The hotel seemed very modern, clean, and well maintained...it was a good place to spend a few hours and I can certainly recommend it on that basis for now.

Firstly the shower was not clean. Room service for lunch was good and card payment could be made upon food delivery. However, had horrible experience with laundry service - suit was collected for steaming at the room and was told it would take a 15 minutes, after 50min receive a call and told to pay and collect at front desk because there was no card machine to bring to room. When getting to the front desk, the hostes inform that the machine could have been brought to the room for payment and delivery. Complained to hotel and there is no response to date.

Upon our arrival, we were told to wait by the pool area for 40 minutes before we could check in because the rooms were not ready. When checking in, we asked to help us with our luggage and he responded with a “huh” because he had earphones on, we then decided we’ll help ourselves. In our room there weren’t any coffee or tea condiments, we had to request for those. We also requested for robes which never came, until we had to call again (around 10pm). We later had drinks by the pool, our waiter disappeared on us until it was dark, we asked the cleaner to look for him in order to pay our bill. We made a dinner reservation and when we arrived, we were asked to wait for a good 10 minutes for them to sort out a table for us, and a further 15 minutes to get the MENU. The food took another 40 minutes to arrive at our table. There were only 2 waitresses working on the floor that evening. The steak was extremely charred on the outside, pink on the inside but hard as rock (???), salmon was under seasoned. Their fries are were however good. We were VIP guests and our package included dinner and therefore we were not required to pay the bill, however the manager did not inform our waitress. We were asked to sit and wait for the manager to confirm. Our stay was unpleasant, everything and everyone was disorganised and we definitely won’t be visiting again.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the staff at Maslow Hotel. During our stay, my friend accidentally bumped his head on the plane, and the hotel's front desk went above and beyond to assist us. They promptly arranged for a medical professional who demonstrated remarkable patience and skill in treating my friend's injury. They not only tended to the wound but also applied the necessary ointment, ensuring his well-being. I am truly grateful to this dedicated team and their colleagues for their exceptional care and service.

Dont bring ur kids!!! Stayed at Maslow Sandton's suite recently. The place is dim, and the rooms weren't very clean – stained walls and all. They charge R500 for an extra bed (my kids are 4 and 7 respectively). Asked for 2 extra blankets, they said NO as hotel policy allows "1 blanket only". After a fight, i had to force them to send it. The receptionist sarcastically asked if he should send maintenance to fix the aircons if im cold (see-you-an-tee). The blankets were in a plastic, had a smell also. Couches also havent been deep cleaned in years. The hotel seems to attract some interesting characters (foreign nationals doing illegal business-IYKYK), not the friendliest vibe. The couches and pillows had a funky smell. Furniture worn out, rooms need a makeover. Oh and the meals sent by room service - pricey but absolutely nothing wonderful. If you ask me, the management has absolutely lost the plot. Change the team!! Not more than 3 star accommodation. A definite never again!

Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast to spoil myself for a change. Felt like I was on holiday enjoying the hotel music and sipping on my coffee and munching on my toasted triple cheese sandwich 🥪 yum! Must do it again soon. Service was excellent too. Keep up the good work.

Much better than it was last time i was here (it was 20 years ago…). Nice clean rooms. Big showers, comfy beds. Bar nice. Food OK. People friendly. Close to Sandton and Nelson Mandela Square shopping centre 🛍 🛒

Visited for a work event and the ribs for lunch were delicious! Easy to access the venue with plentiful parking for our event. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the sound equipment was mostly flawless (except a minor issue towards the end with a signal interference from another room).

I went for a professional congress. The set up was good, clean conference room, we had enough water and mints and the food was great. Because they hosted another event after we left on Saturday, the projector wasn't working on Sunday. This was rectified after 11:00am.

Terrible, terrible hotel. If you want to wait over 90 minutes for your meal, enjoy having a room where you can hear your neighbour's television all night and the sound of the person above you using their shower - this is the place for you! Otherwise, there are plenty of better hotels in the Sandton area for your business to book into. Truly a sad experience; I've informed my company and will be spreading the word that this place just isn't worth being on the Rennies vendor list.

Room was beautiful, hotel is in Sandton within reach of everything you will need with the help of the hotel's shuttle service. Food was good. Cleaning of my room was done around 5pm and I wanted to rest at that time.

Interesting experience. The rooms are small and some far away from the lifts. Not unusual for Joburg these days with standards overall in the city dropping post covid. Breakfast was mediocre at best, again, not below what is on offer at similiar in Joburg. However, it would be a selling point vs competition. Missed opportunity. Personal service on request, was good. Especially thanks to Chef Omar, smiling, happy, efficient. The rooms were very clean and compliments to those staff, the Rooms manager knew me by name. Impressive! Pool is small. Bar had a nice atmosphere. Front desk staff could have been better. Take a leaf out of the rooms staff. A smile goes a long way. Overall, nowhere near international 4 star standards but equivalent to Joburg 4 star. Try to find your edge over other similiar priced hotels in the region. You don't have one currently. PS: Have stayed at one 3 star, four 4 star and one 5 star hotels in the past 9 months in Joburg.

Staff are friendly, but inefficient, they forget to clean / sanitize rooms on time. Note, Bathroom / toilets have no door or privacy curtain if your sharing a room. Has free wifi 👍 Overall, 🤔 has plenty of room for improvement.

Nice hotel when you are in town - there is a shuttle to Mandela square very often and this place can be reached easily. It can get a bit noisy sometimes but I had a very good experience- the service is always flawless and funny. Love the folks here 🇿🇦

We only stayed here for one night and I guess if you have more time it’s a good and presumably safe location. The hotel is nice and the staff was very friendly. The room (173) was okay and clean, but it constantly smelled like cigarette smoke, which is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The breakfast - while offering a great variety - sadly wasn’t very good.

Checked in on Monday the 1st of January 2024 at around 01-30 in the morning as I was told by the receptionist at the front desk as all reservations staff were off duty that it would be better to check in after midnight otherwise I would have to pay for the stay on the 31st and this would be regarded as a new day which I did . But we encountered a lot of issues after checking in as I had booked 2 rooms and the one for my kids had small beds and not 2 double beds as I was told so it meant that my son had to either sleep on the floor or have a fold out bed also I had explained to the lady on the phone and the Monica the night duty manager that their were 3 kids of which 2 were girls so we needed 2 double beds so the girls could share and my son having his own bed but Monica managed to get that issue sorted and thanks to her for that but as for not telling me that even though I had checked in so late that it was regarded a nights stay and thought that we were actually paying for the 1st night but turns out in the morning our key cards were blocked and we were told we need to pay for another night and that this was regarded as a nights stay . The day manager was absolutely rude when I addressed this and insisted that I had to pay again and I refused and checked out immediately and they didn’t even care so I have decided that I would never refer anyone to that hotel as the service was terrible and staff were rude and unsympathetic and unprofessional too . Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in .

Subtle elegance. I came for a meeting and during the day and I was about impressed by the great atmosphere brought about by the peace and great service and their staff pay attention to detail which I can imagine is superb if I had slept over

The rooms were so tidy, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing, kind and very helpful. They made our stay enjoyable. The food was top notch and there is a lot to choose from, I loved the buffet breakfast more. Service was outstanding generally. There is a shuttle that pics guests every 30minutes from the hotel to the nearby mall and takes them back to the hotel, that’s also very convenient and I loved it. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown and hoping to visit some day again.

We went as a group to the Maslow and had a great experience. Friendly, professional staff even in the corridors. I had a manicure at their spa, Africology and my therapist, Busi was amazing. Thank you for a pleasant experience all round. Food was also good.

Staff there treats young ladies like they can't afford that place. Always surprised when you from the room or at the bar to order. Like you won't be able to pay the bill, yet you booked in! I was surprised by bar man there. He was rude and unfriendly. Everything else was beautiful but I wasn't happy with some of the staff. The reception lady Lonwabo was very friendly, the rest bamborile shem and ubabutse!

I've practically lived 1/4 of my life in Hotels(work and play). This time round I must have experienced the worst service ever.😔. From the check-in till checkout just bad bad service all the time. The rooms are quite nice though....

Pretty average hotel. The reception was really good and the breakfast was great but the housekeeping is shocking. The room facilities certainly don’t match the price. Rather plain for an upmarket hotel. Room was clean.

The garden area is nice and green. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Bathrooms are clean. There's only one bathroom at the garden pool area not so ideal if you have garden area event. It's close to a busy road. You will hear the occasional hooting of a taxi when you are outside by the pool.

I was there for TME Workshop . I love everything about the hotel, from conference rooms, hotel rooms and restaurants. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean. The location is easy to find. I will definitely come back again.

Lovely hotel with modern finishes. The reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because the bathrooms have glass walls thus making it see through and not suitable for families.

Great service as always. Food is top notch from breakfast to the bar. Rooms are modern after the refresh and has everything you would need for work or personal. Convenient being in the middle of Sandton

Really nice and great staff. Cooked to ordered omelets always make me happy. I didn't take pics of breakfast cause I forgot...the food was good. The rooms are kinda small and if you are traveling alone and paranoid, bring a door stopper cause it's only the one lock on door.

This is generally a good hotel to stay at but my recent experience was poor. Had an early start to the day, was at the breakfast hall at 6:30 and was told that they not ready. The fat chef was very rude and impolite. I asked to be called as soon as they ready as I sat in full visual of the chefs and never got called. She was also rude to the assistant manager. Around 7 they opened, I went there as they started attending to other guests and I ended up waiting another 20 mins to be attended to. It was not only me but other guests who felt the same. If these individuals can’t work in a service industry, help them change or help them out of the organization.

Waitress at the restaurant approached me at my table while I was ordering to ask me if I was there three days prior as I looked like someone who walked out on their bill - this happened on Saturday the 28th of May 2022. I was at the spa (treating myself for my birthday which was on the 27th of May 2022) and decided to eat at the restaurant as I had spent hours at the spa (which was phenomenal) and was super hungry so I stayed. But my lunch was extremely uncomfortable as I had different wait staff serving me and a couple of stares from other employees. I made a call expressing my discomfort and how awkward and unprofessional the encounter was. I was told that they would get back to me and they never did. You do not approach a situation like that or accuse customers! And if you do choose to accuse you better make sure you have the right person and evidence to support your claims.

  • 5/5 Aaminah M. 2 years ago on Google
Super amazing for the structure and the ambience inside the hotel with attention to detail in so many different lounges yet, a small but comfortable space . Rooms are reasonably good. As your room type varies higher in luxury or extras.. You'll definitely be pleased with it ! If you have a balcony the hustle and bustle , of the day transforms at night overlooking the city lights and star lights. Great for anyone , any age. But not for longer than 2 nights ,unless you're on business. There's huge conferences that take place in a separate section not joint inside the hotel. Also shuttle services to take and fetch you from Mandela sqaure/Sandton city mall at anytime..

The hotel was clean, and the room was nice however, our expectation with the 'date night' package was not met. Simple things like 'champagne chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered strawberries' upon arrival was missed opportunities (this is just one example). This was in the advertised, but the champagne was delivered to our room 3 hours after arrival and the chocolate covered strawberries 6 hours later. The room was nice, but I do not recommend the 'date night' package. It was not as special as I hoped for. There are more examples of not meeting our expectations, all of which was advertised. I’m not asking for going over an beyond, just wat was in the ‘deal’.

Had drinks and a late lunch at the Maslow. The food was below mediocre. We had the chicken and prawn curry and the baby chicken peri peri. The curry was below average and the baby chicken was overdone and dry. The highlight of my lunch was the chips that was served with the chicken

Went there for lunch with my partner. I arrived first and was told the restaurant side was closed, I respected that, and went to sit by the bar to wait for my partner. He arrived and said we should move to the restaurant I told him it was closed and he said no it's not, we proceeded to go and they allowed him in and were embarrassed to see me walking with him... I guess it depends who you are in Santdton

Great location and convenient shuttle service but some rooms to be freshened up and the distinction between smoking and non smoking rooms should be more strict as our room was clearly a smoking one a few days before we got there…

Check in was a breeze. You enter into an extravagant lounge area, bar to your right and left. Front entrance is very well maintained and clean. Let's go to the room, I stayed in a luxury queen room with view of pool. Room was not badly sized for the prize you pay. Room was cozy for me. Let's talk about food. I ordered a few meals the first day, I was very disappointed. The spinach soup - was like it went into the juicer and served ice in a bowl, Lemon meringue pie - granules of sugar in everything, including the cream on top which isnt a meringue and Ravioli pasta - ice and ravioli was hard as a rock in a ice tomatoe broth. Food for me is definitely a no go zone, either staff is rushing and no one is checking or tasting food before it is sent out. For a hotel in Sandton and price wise, I was expecting more from food like other hotels in the same vicinity.
