We were at Gleeson’s for a couple of nights where we had a brilliant stay. The room was very clean and well designed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a fantastic shower. Our room faced the back which was a little unfortunate as it overlooks the car park. There is a much nicer view at the front of the square. It’s in a great location in the centre of Roscommon which is an lovely town. We had some excellent meals at the restaurant. Highly recommended is the lamb stew which had so much flavour. They are also a dog friendly hotel and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Also very good value for money.

Simply the best Cod & chips in Roscommon as the batter was tasty light and crispy, the cod was fresh and succulent with perfectly cooked chips. If your into Fish And chips this is the place to go. Staff were very nice and efficient.

Very satisfied with Gleesons hotel. The receptionist greeted us with a welcoming smile and pointed us to our room, which was old style but very clean, the bed and pillows where comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped with a good strength shower over a bath (relaxing in a hot bath, I thoroughly enjoyed using as we only have a shower at home). We had previously booked a meal in the restaurant for 7-45, but by 6pm after our long day visiting relatives we asked could we have our meal early, with the staff happy to take our order of Goats cheese salad main course for myself and the Lasagna with salad and a side of chunky chips and onion rings, which were all excellent and came with everything that was stated on the menu. For dessert we both ordered the baked fruit crumble with custard, it was tasty but not to our liking as it was a layer of mixed seasonal fruit, pastry crumble and custard baked in the dish which made it thick and heavy, as we expected something a little lighter to finish of our excellent meal. (Like having the fruit and a light crumble baked together with a pouring custard to go on top, which would have been more to 'our taste'). The next morning we had a wide choice to choose from the breakfast menu which was all inclusive in our BnB price. Overall it was a satisfactory stay. Thanking all the staff for their good service.

We visited Gleesons for a family reunion and were given a large reception room which worked very well for us. The staff could not have been more helpful and showed great flexibility with accommodating our needs.

My family and I had a late lunch in Gleesons yesterday after a match in Athleague. Standard enough fare, but all very tasty, on a damp but sunny autumnal day. The chicken curry was particularly nice and well priced. The restaurant had a very warm and inviting atmosphere and practically everyone we met greeted us with a smile. Our young waitresses were the stars of the day, especially a young woman named Caoimhe. She and her colleagues made us feel perfectly at home.....even if they had run out of the local brew from Ballinlough, Black Donkey! They were efficient, courteous and fun. Lovely pleasant experience(again) in Gleesons....well done everyone!

Gleeson's is located in the town center of Roscommon. The building itself is interesting. The food and service were great. We enjoyed a nice lunch.

Good experience! We stayed for two nights - the rooms were spotless and very comfortable - the service was fantastic and the staff were very nice! Especially at the bar. We went for dinner a little later one night and we’re surprised that the bar was closing so early (Saturday night). As we were residents we had expected it’d be open a little later so we could have drinks but as there is so many pubs around it wasn’t a major issue. The only negative I had was that I ordered a vol au vent and it arrived slightly cold. Breakfast and all other food was very good but was just a bit disappointed in the evening dining. Other than this everything else was perfect. I loved the fact that they provided extra towels if you plan to put tan on (so the whites don’t get stained) great thinking! I would return!

The food here was amazing and very nice ambience and service. Portions are huge also and it’s pretty good value. Definitely would be back and probably wouldn’t order a start given the size of the Stew. Amazing!

Now this is how to do a full Irish breakfast for €11.50. Quality ingredients, grilled and fresh. Coffee included and all-in all very satisfying.

Only visited the restaurant this afternoon with a friend, to celebrate my birthday. Surroundings were clean + tidy, young man who brought the food out was very nice + polite. Which is more than can be said for the waitress, who when I asked for a cup for my herbal tea, almost threw the cup on the table. 😢 otherwise it's nice lunch + very good company.

The food was amazing .The customer service was outstanding and the room was very well fitted . It was spacious and comfortable and we extended our stay due to the hospitality. The wifi was hit and miss and the water pressure was poor but other than it was a really great stay over . Parking was public only but we secured free parking out the front .

On a flying visit in between Christmas and new year we Popped in here without a reservation and were shown straight to a lovely table in a cosy room, friendly efficient staff soon had a lovely Irish breakfast and a lovely veggy breakfast on the table and it really was very GOOD and very reasonable priced. If I lived locally I would be a regular. Well done definately recommend.

This place is a real gem. We were working in the area and wanted a bed for the night. Artic conditions outside, but inside warm and cosy both the place, atmosphere and staff, they couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was incredible too. We will definitely be back. Love from Sarah, Patrick and Odie xxx

Came across this lovely restaurant while on our way home from a trip with family. Menu is great and caters to both adults and children. The staff are really what make this place. They couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly or helpful. I would most definitely make a point of visiting this establishment again when passing through Roscommon.

The little milk pots in the bedroom had gone off but luckily the staff very kindly gave us a small jug of milk to enjoy our tea. The bathroom basin taps were a little odd as one had the letter H on it. This tap turned out to be the cold tap and the other tap which had no letter on it was hot tap. I am sure this is a wee job that could be easily sorted out. I think it was room 115 we were in. I do feel the staff at this hotel look after the guests well.

Stopped in for coffee and a pint for my other half. As we had our dog with us I explained that we would have to stay outside - the very harassed and quite rude waitress told me "we are too busy to serve outside" I was quite happy to wait and bring our drinks out myself,. Other people were seated with drinks outside. We left and went to the pub/ restaurant next door and we're brought out our drinks with no fuss or issues I would hate to see visitors to this country being treated in this manner - we won't be returning to Gleesons !!! 😔

I just had my son's Holy Communion here today and I have to say it was fantastic! A fabulous menu and super tasty food and plenty of it. Lovely friendly staff. Nothing was too much bother. Highly recommend Gleesons for an occassion. Thank u again.

Called for breakfast after it being highly recommended. It was hard to find the way to the cafe, the receptionist ignored us, so I had to ask. Went to order at the counter and was told it was table service (by someone who wasn't very friendly). The table staff were lovely, but my breakfast (pancakes) was small and the nutella was given in 2 small plastic sachets.

I really enjoyed my meal at Gleesons. I thought the menu had a really great choices and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The food (Irish stew) was very enjoyable with good pieces of lamb used. The desert (Eton mess) was very tasty. Coffee and service were excellent. I'd recommend a visit!
