Poor is an understatement when describing the front desk staff. I arrived around 11:30pm, no one was at the desk, so I took the escalator up to the second floor because I assumed the front desk on that level was closed. I returned to the main floor and 1 delivery man to drop food, 2 females waiting to be checked in. So, I walk around the desk to the office and observed a young man sitting at a desk. I politely say hello, there are a few people waiting to be checked in. His response: Do you work here? My response: do I look like I work here? His response: you need to get from behind the desk and you should not have come behind the desk. I wait and the other two people check in. Upon my approach he hands a handwritten note to a man that arrived. At which point I tell him he could write every note he wants but instead of doing that he should inform the guest how long they should wait in the lobby with no assistance? 5, 10, 30 minutes.... the argument escalated at which point he told me he will refuse me service. I told him go ahead. I request the manager look at the camera; I can wait but he refused. I was escorted to retrieve my car and made it home safe. This is being written because I observed a charge for the room on my credit card statement. You don't get to refuse service, conduct yourself in the most unprofessional manner and charge someone especially when your policy is to wait in the lobby someone will help you when they feel like it!!!! You earned that one star!!!!!

I checked in to Room 951 on October 8. Upon finding out that the door to my room would not latch upon closing, I called the front desk immediately. I felt unsafe knowing that my door couldn’t close securely, and I made it clear to the person on the phone. They expressed an apology and said they’d send someone to fix it. An hour and a half later: nothing. I called the front desk and the receptionist said, “Oh no one came?” The mechanic arrived shortly later. (He was very kind and very professional.) He fixed the door. Or so it seemed. The next night, I realized that my door still did not close. I immediately called down to the lobby and requested someone to come fix it again, stating that this was a follow up to the previous night. I waited an hour. No response. So I walked downstairs to the front desk and expressed my frustration. I felt unsafe, and again, I made that clear to the receptionist. (Yes, I know there’s a swing lock. But I still felt unsafe.) The root of my frustration is that I felt like I was forced to stay in an unsafe place after saying I felt unsafe. I am very disappointed in this hotel. It is not an expensive stay, and the service I received was horrible. I will probably never stay in a Hyatt hotel.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this Hyatt. Room was clean and comfortable and location was convenient to tourist attractions. Plus they allowed dogs. Service was responsive. Only con: when we first checked in, our room's air conditioning was not working. When we told reception, they promptly switched us to another room which was fine. This reflects what some of the other reviewers said, that the hotel is an older property and you have to be proactive. Bottom line: I recommend this property.

I picked this hotel because of the close proximity to the aquarium. I would like to give it a 5 star but was turned off because there wasn't any washcloths in the room when we checked in so I asked the front desk for some and she stated she would send someone to our room. A few minutes later there was someone at our door but he stated that they didn't have any washcloths and handed me two hand towels and stated that I could use it in place of a washcloth due to not having any? I don't know if this meant that the hotel didn't have any at all or if there wasn't any clean ones? I assume not at all due to not having a single washcloth in the room upon check in. Other then that the hotel was really nice, love the elevator. The parking was great and was attached to the hotel. You have to pay to park but its expected in this area.

First time staying here and probably won’t stay again. Mixed feelings, location is excellent- reason we picked it, parking is convenient, staff was friendly, view out our 6th floor room was amazing. A few concerns, room was Noisy-thin walls and outside traffic, 3rd floor restaurant was closed- local pro football team staying at the hotel, no wash clothes-come on now, bathroom is good size, but toilet has a handle like a public restroom. Just go to the Rusty Scupper for meals- the walk there is right along the harbor

We visited for part 2 of my cousin Bachelorette Party (the wind down). We decorated the room so beautiful for her and enjoyed the rooftop pool til it closed. The hotel is very nice. I paid for self parking which was $32 (and you have the freedom to come in and out the lot, but we didn't we relaxed 😌). They do have breakfast but it's not complimentary and is pay pp but that's an option you do have. The beds were so comfortable and we had a very good view of the harbor. Our only disappointment was there wasn't a microwave in the room but other than that it's definitely a place I'd visit again and I'm from Baltimore. I remember as a little girl my mom use to work there and finally as an adult I got to experience it for myself and for a good cause. The prices were reasonable for what we received. Try the infused water it's delish very refreshing.

The staff were friendly, courteous and professional. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel food was okay. I would definitely stay here again and recommend. Great location and wonderful views.

This place is kind of a dump. Sorely in need of renovation and updating. I don’t have a tape measure but the toilet is very low to the ground— maybe 14 inches high. The lamps are wobbly and falling apart. No microwave, and teeny mini fridge with no freezer. Everything looks dingy and old. I assume the walls are thin because there’s a noise machine in the room (apparently from the 80s). If location and service are all that matter, this is the hotel for you, but I am definitely regretting my choice.

Like many have said, this hotel is due for a major refresh, especially as a Regency hotel and for customers paying Regency prices. We checked into a king room but had to be switched to a double twin room because the door to our room would not lock with the keycard--hence the door was always unlocked. The front desk employee at first said they would send a mechanic up, but then had us switch rooms because the mechanic reported the issue earlier in the day and there were no high floor king rooms available. While we were provided with the difference between the room costs as compensation, it felt disappointing to be sold a room that was reported to have issues and be provided with a downgrade instead of an upgrade for our stay. Many have mentioned the aging state of the hotel and I can confirm that the hotel still needs renovations. As we walked down the halls, of the hotel, it was worrying to see how many rooms and elevators had keycard locks with the plastic cover missing or falling off, exposing the operating board within--this made it seem like the keycard systems were very cheap and/or insecure. Hallway carpets on several floors have the faded white stains reported by other reviewers (thankfully the rooms were clean and did not have carpet stains), the shower faucet had extremely low water pressure, and our room had large sections of scratches on our window tint which ruined the otherwise great view. The bottom of the windowsill in our room had specks of rust as well. The only redeeming quality of this hotel was the kindness and hospitality of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Everyone we interacted with was super helpful and tried to resolve any issues we had quickly. This Hyatt Regency has a fantastic location and great staff, but is limited by its aging interior and issues with rooms. I would hesitate to stay again unless the price is competitive with a 3-star or 2-star hotel like hilton/springhill. Otherwise, there are seemingly many better 4-star hotels in the area, albeit maybe without as great of a view of inner harbor.

Truly too many reasons to list why this is easily the worst hotel I've stayed in. The place is falling apart, rain leaks into hallways and room when it rains, air conditioning does not work in many rooms, housekeeping does not come daily, management has no care for upkeep. Broken glass at the pool. Vomit in the hallways not cleaned for hours. I really could go on and on. The only positive is the staff which were as helpful and kind as they could be considering the circumstances. They are not to blame - they're spread thin and do not get support from management. It's actually an embarrassment.

The employees made it excellent, along with other kind hotel guests. Yes, it needs refurbishing, yet when there is a "Miss Penny" who understands we are disabled and treated us so very well for some delicious breakfasts that matters more than a few stains on a carpet. The bartender was gracious when I asked for a scotch after my husband had a small hissy fit which upset me. I gave the Porter who took our luggage down a $20 tip. He arrived promptly did his job politely and I so enjoyed his reaction. The Front Desk Staff was always willing to give us more bottled water and coffee pods. None of these individuals had to be so cheerful and helpful. They did it because of who they are. I believe they are grateful for their jobs, hopefully enjoy working for the Hyatt Regency and are, quite simply, just kind, good people. We had a wonderful time.

This is hard to narrow down. I stayed 4 nights recently for work. The location is fantastic, very convenient to the Inner Harbor activities. All the staff were friendly and helpful. All the meals I enjoyed as part of our meetings were delicious and well presented. Those are the good points. I stayed 4 nights. Not once was our room serviced. I asked at the front desk and was told rooms are only cleaned every third day? And yet the rooms across the hall were serviced daily. There is only 1 tiny rubbish bin in the bathroom that was soon overflowing. I looked for 1 near the ice machine but found none. The shower was lovely, but only provided water that was either boiling or freezing, nothing in between. You had to decide each morning whether you wanted to freeze or boil. I opted one evening to have dinner in the Bistro 300 restaurant. The maitre'd told me to pick a table, which I did. And then waited. And waited. After nearly 15-minutes I left. On the lift back to my room there was a large advertisement for room service. "Just look at the menu in your room and call for service." Looked in room: no menu. Dinner that night consisted of some snacks I had in my bag. Would be hard pressed to recommend this hotel.

Positives: Hotel gives the outside appearance that it is very nice lobby, restaurants halls beautiful. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Location is AMAZING but the bridge to the pier on the pier side had no working elevator so traveling with a baby stroller was tough. Negatives: Room was not updated and basic. It was 80 degrees in our room the entire time even thou we turned the AC onto 68 so literally we cooked the entire stay with my baby. The pool was supposed to stay open until 10 but closed at 8 and the fire pit apparently never worked even though they post it on their website.

This hotel has a beautiful facade. You’d think you were walking into 4 stars from the lobby but upon closer inspection you start to see some issues. We were transferred to two separate rooms and BOTH rooms were unbearably hot. it couldn’t get below 77 degrees in the room despite having the ac run for hours with the curtains closed. in fact, during noon the entire hotel seems to have an issue with their air conditioning. not only that, they seem to have a serious gnat issue. ordered a drink from the bar to be greeting by a gnat in my drink. our second room had tape up in the wall to catch gnats. wallpaper in the bathroom was lifting due to no ventilation in the bathroom. the doors were dirty and sticky probably again due to the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. toilet seat was incredibly low to the ground. but the staff was professional. if you eat something here just make sure it’s cooked that way if something did land on it at least the bacteria would be cooked off.

I've never stayed as a guest but have attended numerous events, both fun & work, at this location. Staff is always helpful. Common areas always clean and well-maintained. Perfect location with reasonable parking attached

Great hotel! In walking distance to everything in the Inner Harbor with a restaurant/bar area and Starbucks inside. Every employee I had interacted with was courteous and professional. The cleaning staff also did a fantastic job keeping our rooms tidy during the duration of our stay. They also had a business center with computers and a printer. I highly recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor if you visit Baltimore.

Breathtaking view, spacious room, huge TV. Largest hotel TV I have ever seen. Wow!) It looks like the bathroom was updated or remodeled (great use of the space). However, I was surprised to see the toilet was just like a public bathroom tolet ( it didnt have a tank). Overall, it was such a wonderful stay-cation experience! I hope to be a guest again in the near future to enjoy the inviting, warmth, comfort and coziness of the rooms. I hope the rooms continue to be affordable with perks! Love this! :)

We did not have a great experience at this hotel. When we arrived we were asked if we would like our room serviced and we said yes. We get to the room and the TV & Phone are not working. We then went to the bar on the third floor and the bar tender was not friendly. The next day our room did not get serviced, we went down to the lobby and asked for our room to be serviced. They said we would be added to the system and the room would be cleaned and it wasn't. We then went back down to the lobby to ask about our room and were told it was too late but they would bring us towels. This never happened and when we got back lo and behold no towels... so back down to the lobby we go. Our second day the room gets serviced no problem. The third day the cleaner shows up at 8:30am to clean our room, naturally being on vacation we weren't ready to leave the room. I asked if she could come back she said yes. We go out and the room is not serviced. We go down to the desk and are told that we declined service which we did not. So they did come and clean. On top of this we asked for a spoon and bowl to use while we are there since we are vegan and breakfast food in Baltimore is hard to come by. We were told there was no way they could give us that. So we had to go buy it. I have never had such a horrible experience at a hotel.

The overall experience was decent. Front desk staff were kind and attentive, hotel felt clean, and views (despite not having a harbor facing room) were nice. There is no daily room service (or at least there wasn't for my stay), which I would have liked to know before leaving towels on the floor. The shower never got hot, stayed lukewarm the entire time. I spoke to my friend who was staying on a higher floor and he had the same issue. I was in for a conference, so the walkway to the convention center was a great feature. My room (543) was located above the atrium which housed the Bar and the noise was quite loud til about 12:30-1am. I was able to sleep through it, but light sleepers beware. I also had issues with parking, they give you a hang tag so you can leave the parking deck and return without having to pay each time. It's nice in theory, but every time I left or came back, the hang tag gave me an error, so I ended up contacting support each time. Again, decent stay overall, but a few modifications and maybe a different room would make this a 5-star review.

We checked in via the app and were assigned the room we paid for. Upon arrival at 830 pm, we followed up check in with the front desk. When we went to our assigned room, we opened the door to find the bed unmade and the tv on. We did not enter the room. So back down to the front desk we go. She showed no one assigned to the room and reassigned us to a less expensive and smaller (bed) room discounting it $50. Very disappointing. After dropping our belongings in the new room, we went to Bistro 300 for a bite, beer and football. Service was extremely slow; bartender was quite rude; food was wrong; food was cold; crab soup was disgusting (think pork chop gravy with old bay and tuna on top). Just a fiasco. I expected more from a Hyatt.

Price and location are hard to beat. The beds are good, but other amenities are quite dated. The (foot) sky bridge to the inner harbor is super convenient, and it's not a terrible walk back from Camden Yards. The complementary citris water was a hit with kids.

Stayed here for 2 days. Love the atmosphere, the location and the service! Wish I had access to a microwave on my floor. The bathrooms have little ventilation. Had to utilize a fan at night for comfortable room temperature. View of harbor was stunning! So it's a mixed bag honestly...

  • 3/5 Ehrin A. 1 year ago on Google
Room was clean and service was good. The water was turned off both nights I was there. Staff gave us free water bottles, but it was still inconvenient. Location was a short wall from Camden Yards so that was great. Not a bad experience but could certainly have been better.

We've stayed here twice in the past and both times have been perfect. The rooms were clean and the check in process was simple. There is on site parking and the harbor view rooms can't be best! We got lucky and paid for a harbor view then they got us a corner room, best room ever! 180° of Baltimore's Inner Harbor!

  • 4/5 Curt S. 1 year ago on Google
Staff was extremely nice and helpful, room was clean and a great view of the harbor. Great location and room rate was more than reasonable. Only gripes were very minor - was getting more towels was challenging, wish the restaurant offered more in terms of a kids menu but they were very accommodating.

Very clean and nice hotel. Rooms and staffs are very comforting and beautiful view when you are in elevator going up to the room. Location is the best ( walking distance to most of touring sites including national aquarium~~

Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The harbor view room had a great view obviously. Only negatives were no room service and no fan in the bathroom so annoying when you get out of the shower, which the shower was great and fit both of us. Lol.

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel and it was AWESOME! Staff went above and beyond to welcome us from check in to check out! Willie was our server at Bistro 300 twice and could NOT have been better. He made sure everything was perfect and the second visit made us feel like family! The bellman, Marcus was EXCEPTIONAL! He called a taxi for us and knew we were anxious to get to a show (Rip Room was playing in town and was our main reason for being there). After much waiting he asked if he could call a car for us which not only arrived immediately, he had paid for it himself! Of course we paid him but how many young men would do that? The only negative was the AC, after the first night they moved us to a different room which was much better. Next trip to Baltimore we will definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor if for nothing else because of Marcus and Willie!!

The check in staff were very friendly from the very beginning. Check in was a breeze, and the room was very clean, comforting. The location of the hotel near the harbor is beautiful. And the view of the harbor from the elevator was very nice. I was there for a conference, and in the evening we would like to meet up at the hotel bar. That's where the experience was a bit tarnished. The bar staff were not very friendly, and when ordered drinks it was as though we were a burden. It was also very disappointing to see the bar close so early with so many people there. They would give last call, and then have a 20 minute line up to get a drink. One night not even giving last call and closing the bar half hour early. If you did manage to get a drink at last call, as soon as the bar staff was done, they shut the lights off on us.

Pros: * Location (close to the Inner Harbor) * Glass walled elevator was probably the best feature * Friendly and great front desk service * Great view of the harbor! Cons: * BOTH the hot water and COLD water valves were pumping out steaming (almost scalding) hot water intermittently (for example when the washing hands and even the toilet bowl would steam a bit after flushing sometimes). * Room cleanliness was decent but not thorough (see picture below). * The hotel in general needs updating (but save the elevator!) FYI: Parking is $35/day

Went here for a Wedding Brunch. The atmosphere was nice. The Wedding coordinator and her team from A vision from Shaye event planning was on everything. They were extremely helpful and professional. Had that event flow so smoothly. Don't think they are connected to the Hotel in any way. Maybe they should be, because that was the best part of the experience out side of the Beautiful Couple.
