A. Roebling'in rüyası idi. Köprünün açılış günü New York'ta tatil ilan edildi, o gün 150.300 yayanın köprüden geçerek suya 1 cent attığı söylenir. Gotik tarzda yapılmış bu köprü, 19. yüzyıl mühendisliğinin doruk noktası ve dünyanın 8. harikası olarak kabul görülmüştür.

It's one of the iconic locations in New York City, and you can see the fantastic view of the city's skyline. You can enjoy the walk and can cross the bridge and see the beautiful pictures. If you are planning to do that, then I would suggest going early morning when you won't find many people and can enjoy the walk

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic marvel that gracefully spans the East River, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Its majestic Gothic towers and intricate cable patterns create a silhouette that defines the New York City skyline. Walking across the bridge provides a breathtaking panorama of the city, offering unparalleled views of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan skyline, and the East River below. The experience is a harmonious blend of engineering brilliance and aesthetic allure. Whether day or night, the bridge's charm is timeless, making it a quintessential destination for both locals and visitors alike. The Brooklyn Bridge stands not only as a feat of engineering but as a symbol of unity, linking neighborhoods and inviting all to partake in its enchanting grandeur.

Brooklyn bridge is one of my favourite places in NYC right now. Beautiful and well maintained besides the history behind it. I loved knowing a bit more about Brooklyn and its bridge. My golden tip is for you to go early! We went to catch the sunrise (we got there around 6:30am) and it was spectacular. Almost nobody was there, was pretty easy to shoot as many photos as we wanted and videos as well.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is not just a mere transition from one shore to another; it's a profound immersion into the atmosphere of history, architectural splendor, and urban life. Stepping onto this majestic bridge, I was enveloped in an aura of ageless beauty and strength. The breathtaking views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn waterfront evoke a sense of awe. The bridge serves as a symbolic link between the bustling energy of Manhattan and the eclectic charm of Brooklyn. The cacophony of diverse languages, the laughter of families, and the hum of city life form a symphony that resonates across the East River.

My visit to the Brooklyn Bridge in May 2022 was nothing short of memorable. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals alike, the bridge offers a perfect blend of history, architecture, and stunning views of the New York City skyline. To make the most of this experience, I suggest taking the subway to the Brooklyn side and starting your walk from there. The nearby High Street - Brooklyn Bridge Station on the A and C lines provides easy access to the bridge's entrance. This approach allows you to fully appreciate the bridge's grandeur as you approach Manhattan. As you stroll across the 1.1-mile (1.8 km) span, you'll find several vendors selling a variety of souvenirs, such as magnets and postcards. These items are surprisingly affordable, making it easy to pick up a keepsake or two to remember your visit. The bridge's pedestrian walkway is wide and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for walkers, joggers, and cyclists alike. To truly experience the bridge's magic, I highly recommend visiting both in the morning and in the evening. The morning light creates a serene atmosphere, perfect for leisurely walks and capturing picturesque photos. In the evening, the bridge takes on a completely different vibe, illuminated by the dazzling lights of the surrounding cityscape. The setting sun casts a warm glow over the bridge, making for a truly unforgettable sight.

Wonderful place, magical view at any time of the day, but especially at sunset! It’s so iconic, you’ve seen it in all movies that when you are there, it feels super special! I recommend to go on sunset or sunrise (less people). You can take the subway to arrive there fast. Walking g the bridge is great, you have a dedicated pedestrian walk and it’s very nice for pictures and buying souvenirs.

Great Bridge from where you can see a lot. Best to go for this walk in the morning when there are fewer people. The lats are not all fastened down fully and this just adds to the experience and shows the age of the bridge. Obviously the bridge is free and let's you get from one side to the other so it has great views and serves a purpose. Check it out if you have the time.

You can walk there to enjoy the view and the town! Can be very cold in winter with the wind, prepare good clothes 😁. Take about 20 minutes to walk from a side to an other one. Sometimes there are seller of coffee or clothes in the bridge.

Amazing views from the bridge and it’s actually a nice walk. You can probably do your 10,000 steps for the day from one end to the other and back lol. I recommend going there before sunset. That way you can enjoy it during the day time, sunset and when it gets dark. The scenery changes so much and it’s all beautiful in its own way.

A lovely walk and the best view of Manhattan and Brooklyn too! There are also vendors selling souvenirs and things along the bridge which is fun browsing. The walkway is set above the road which is great because you can actually have a conversation with people instead of all voices being drowned out by loud cars and supersonic motorbikes.

Visiting the Brooklyn Bridge was truly incredible. This bridge is really, really long and connects two parts of New York City. I walked on it and saw the tall buildings and the water below. The view was breathtaking, especially when the sun was setting. Lots of people were there, too, and I even spotted street performers and vendors selling ice cream and souvenirs. It's a great place to take pictures, enjoy the city, and experience a taste of New York culture. If you're in New York, don't miss out on this awesome and touristy experience! 🌉🌆📸🍦😊

I definitely recommend a stroll from Brooklyn towards Manhattan. If you are willing to get up early in the morning on a cloudless day to see the sunrise there you will be amazed. Worth getting up early. Views absolutely magnificent and no crowds in the morning.

Definitely worth a walk up. In my 30+ years of visiting this great city this was my first walk up the bridge. So glad I did it too. I did it at night in late September. It was a bit chilly & windy but we’ll worth it. The views on both sides of the river are nice. Highly recommend this & it’s free!

Definitely worth a visit, especially at sunset. Here I have taken the most beautiful pictures from all over NYC. Finally, the road for cyclists is separated from the pedestrians, and has its own separate line on the side. Unfortunately, you cannot enjoy the view of the city from the bicycle line because it is located below the level of the bridge and secured by a high wall. My advice: around 5:30 p.m. cross the bridge towards Brooklyn with a city bike, take wonderful pictures of the Manhattan Bridge from Washington Street and the old Pier 1, and return around 7 p.m. via the Brooklyn Bridge on the sidewalk towards Manhattan. - you definitely have the most beautiful view of the city. - valid for the period Mai - September.

Essential route to do it on foot. The metal structure is impressive, a work of engineering, built with rivets. Take the subway to Brooklyn and walk across it back to Manhattan. It is usually very crowded and it is difficult to take good photos. But that doesn't stop you from enjoying the beautiful view.

This is a must-see attraction in New York! This bridge is an iconic piece of architecture that lets you go from Manhattan to Brooklyn and vice-versa. You can cross it walking to have a great view of the bridge. But you can also take a ferry on Pier 11 to take you to DUMBO Park. The views you have from the ferry are phenomenal. Once you are in Brooklyn, you can enjoy the amazing views of East Manhattan, admire Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, and enjoy the number of great restaurants in the area.

Magnificent! This is one of the most beautiful bridge I have seen. Sadly, I didn't get to take any photos or videos of this bridge during the morning hours. However, this bridge that connects Manhattan to Brooklyn, is beautiful to visit during night time. No wonder New York is a non sleeping state. Everywhere is lit with lights. Next time when we visit NY again, I will definitely go explore this 150 years old historical bridge. The best thing is it is free to walk the bridge! I'm sure the bridge would give a better view of parts of NYC. It looks magical just from viewing it from the Brooklyn Bridge Park! Definitely recommend every tourist should spend some time exploring this stunning bridge!

It is a free activity you can do in costly NYC. There are many policemen around. Be mindful of people taking photos and not photo bomb! It is also a long bridge to walk. Wear good walking or sports shoes. There are a few good photo spots! If you are using an iPhone, try choosing portrait to blur-out people walking around your target.

Some of the most iconic photo backdrops can be found here. As a native New Yorker I must admit I often take for granted to beauty of this great city. This place reminds me of the true beauty of New York. The best time to visit the bridge is during sunrise, sunset and after dark. The best pictures are captured during sunrise and sunset. If you’re looking to have the bridge mostly to yourself I would visit during sunrise. Compared to the rest of the day, there are very few people there at this time, just the occasional jogger or two. The walk across the bridge is something that can’t be missed. Especially during the morning hours. At times it can be surreal. Plus this is a great activity that’s completely free. In this great city, finding fun free activities is limited!

This was a beautiful morning walk across the river. It’s about a twenty minute walk across the river with nice little corners to stop and take pictures of the city. Also a great alternative from some of the more expensive New York views. I was there early January morning which was pretty chilly—and there were a decent amount of people on the bridge. I could see this being really crowded during nicer weather. Overall I really loved this walk and one of my favorite parts of my trip to New York.

Very beautiful and iconic bridge, most of the people on the bridge are kind and respectful of traffic although both cyclist and pedestrians essentially sharing one path. You'll at least see 5 people on the bridge taking photos and some who do photo shoots during sunrise. I had waited for an hour before sunrise for a group of 3 people with some studio lights to come during sunrise and block the area I was planning to photograph but I still manage to capture some other amazing photos.

Really stunning views of the city. My husband and I walked part of the pedestrian path after dinner one night on our recent vacation to NYC. We walked from the NYC side to maybe about halfway across, then came back. The views were just beautiful! Lots of places to grab photos with a beautiful backdrop. It looks like there are little vendor booths or something during the daytime, but everyone was packing up or had already left by the time we got there, which was fine by us. We were curious if it would be very safe, especially if it was night time and potentially deserted, but it was still very populated even at around 10pm, so it didn't feel very sketchy. Although I will say, the path from the restaurant to the bridge was a little less comfortable feeling at certain points. Still, I'd recommend walking at least part of this path during your trip, if you're able! The view of the city lights on the water was a beautiful sight to see! And of course it's a public bridge, so walking across it is free. Definitely add it to your itinerary if there's room!

Brooklyn Bridge is undoubtedly a breathtaking marvel and a must-see on any NYC trip. While it tends to get quite crowded with tourists and vendors during the day, an early morning visit offers a more serene experience. As one of the oldest bridges in the US, it holds a rich history. The view of the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn is truly incredible.

Great walk that leads to the hidden treasures of Brooklyn. Take scenic photos of Brooklyn Bridge. Go at night to see Manhattan Bridge lit up and the Manhattan skyline. Nearby Jane's Carousel offers a nivlce park to ride the antique horses on the carousel. Only 2 bucks a ticket. Walk a bit further to Brooklyn Heights and walk the promenade. Be treated to gardens, a beautiful look on the water, and more New York skyline.

The view walking towards Manhattan in the morning can’t be beat. This walk is a New York historical must. Getting to City Hall is the best starting point if you want to do a lap towards Brooklyn and back. Views of Freedom Tower, the Chrysler building and the Empire State Building are all included in this free activity. Watching any PBS doc on the building of this bridge can help a visitor appreciate what a feat of engineering this was for the late 1800’s.

Everyone goes to Times Square and for good reason. NYC is simply awesome and truly the greatest city, but you have to go to this iconic landmark and DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) . I spend a lot of time in New York as you can tell and this neighborhood is a treasure. Great restaurants, shops, photography locations, and a breathtaking view of the lower Manhattan skyline. And while your there - go to Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory on Fulton and thank me later. Love Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Fantastic place to visit day or night, very safe also. Struggled to find it initially but just head to city hall in NYC and you will find the pedestrian entrance / side walk to walk across. We visited it just after Christmas so it was very busy with lots of local market stalls at the start of the bridge ( Not sure if they are always around, but it was New Year’s Eve Eve ) lots of places to take pictures and selfies and doesn’t take that long to go across and back again. Worth visiting and all for free :)

The bridge was absolutely fascinating and full of life! There were people from all over on the bridge, creating a great social atmosphere while trying to get your steps in! They have changed the bike lane from the bridge to the side of the bridge, so no more shoulder to shoulder with strangers and accidentally bumping into bikers!

Before coming to NYC, everyone kept saying you must walk the Brooklyn Bridge at dusk. So we rode the train to Brooklyn, ate some pizza, and walked back just after the sun set. It was beautiful!! What an incredible piece of engineering the Brooklyn Bridge is. The views are breathtaking and the structure of the bridge gets more impressive as you walk further onto the bridge. The only negative are the vast amounts of souvenir stalls and video clip vendors blasting out the same song.

Crossing the iconic Brooklyn Bridge is a journey that encapsulates the heart of New York City. As you step onto the pedestrian walkway, you can hear the passing traffic and distant city sounds. The breathtaking skyline of Manhattan can be seen. The weathered wooden planks beneath your feet offer a nostalgic contrast to the sleek, modern architecture above. You can see the East River flowing beneath, and the Statue of Liberty stands in the distance. Me and my family crossed it while it was raining and I have no regrets in doing so. Crossing this bridge is a must when in NYC!

The most famous bridge in the USA. Longest in the world upon its completion, and one of the oldest still standing. One of the most iconic scenic sites in the city. Walking along the bridge is a popular option on a nice day offering great views of both sides of the east river. The bridge is dotted with souvenir stands and multiple photographers with sophisticated cameras. Along the bridge there are also a few plaques that depict it's history and the bridge construction process. On either end of the bridge you'll find great neighborhoods to walk around so your good whichever side you start on.

Absolutely incredible experience walking this bridge! It's stunning, just amazing! They have NY gifts and fruit stands on the bridge too. The best views are on the other side (Brooklyn side looking onto Manhattan). Walk there and back is recommended! There are seats along the way too which is nice and helpful since I need to sit periodically.

Beautiful and iconic place to visit once you are in New York. We were there in June 2023. This bridge has been on uncountable movies and is one of the known symbols of NYC. This is 1.1 miles long and has ample space to accommodate a rush of walking visitors and cyclists. It would be best to visit the bridge separately both in the morning and at night. If you want to avoid the crowd then you should visit at the earliest hour. That way you can enjoy a glorious sunrise as well.

One popular spot to capture a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge is from the Brooklyn Bridge Park in DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). The intricate design and intricate details of the Brooklyn Bridge showcase the craftsmanship and dedication of its builders. Its Gothic arches and stone towers exude a timeless charm that complements the modern cityscape. As I strolled across the bridge, I felt a sense of history and connection to the past. The experience of crossing the Brooklyn Bridge was both exhilarating and peaceful. The bustling city noise faded away, and I was immersed in a serene atmosphere. Watching the city lights illuminate the night sky from the bridge was a sight to behold. The Brooklyn Bridge is more than just a transportation link; it is a symbol of unity, bridging the gap between boroughs and people. Its timeless beauty and significance make it a must-visit attraction in New York City. I highly recommend taking a leisurely walk or bike ride across this iconic structure to fully appreciate its magnificence and historical importance.

The Brooklyn Bridge is a beautiful suspension bridge that connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City, and extends over the East River. This bridge is 1,825 meters long and 40.5 meters high. It is a very ancient tourist attraction made of iron and cement. The Brooklyn Bridge has undergone many remodeling operations. In the past, only horse-drawn carriages were allowed to pass.

amazing bridge. I have long dreamed of visiting there. There are a lot of people in the evening, but you can still take great photos. At the beginning and end of the bridge there are benches where you can relax. They also often sell magnets and offer to make 360-degree videos.

I can’t remember how many times I’ve dreamed to visit Brooklyn Bridge and watch the NY skyline. And finally I did yesterday evening and it exceeded my expectations. What a beautiful bridge and the view is breathtaking. And you definitely shouldn’t miss this spot when you visit NYC.

The Brooklyn Bridge stands as an exemplary feat of architectural ingenuity, seamlessly bridging the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn with a symphony of steel and stone. This iconic structure, distinguished by its towering Gothic arches and intricate cable system, transcends its utilitarian function, embodying a symbolic nexus between two dynamic urban landscapes. Upon entering the pedestrian walkway, one is immediately immersed in a palpable urban energy, underscored by panoramic vistas of Manhattan's skyline and the meandering East River. The bridge's transcendence beyond mere infrastructure is evident as pedestrians traverse its length, becoming integral to an ongoing narrative shaped by the countless stories interwoven into its cables and towers. Photographically, the Brooklyn Bridge serves as a captivating subject, its design and enduring grace providing a compelling contrast against the ever-changing backdrop of the city. Whether witnessed during daylight hours when the sun bathes the skyline in golden hues or against the nocturnal city lights, the bridge presents an aesthetic allure that is both timeless and captivating. Beyond its aesthetic significance, the Brooklyn Bridge encapsulates a profound sense of unity and connectivity. Its walkway serves as a microcosm where the diverse fabric of New York converges – commuters, joggers, and tourists alike – forging a collective experience that transcends geographic boundaries and temporal dimensions. In essence, the Brooklyn Bridge stands not only as an engineering marvel but as a living testament to the ethos of New York City. Its traversal, whether motivated by historical reverence, a pursuit of unparalleled vistas, or a desire to commune with the city's vibrant pulse, is an imperative pilgrimage that seamlessly amalgamates architecture, history, and the indomitable spirit of the metropolis it spans.

Walking from New York city to Brooklyn on the Brooklyn Bridge, its nice and worth it. Then you can rest in the Brooklyn park. Lots of movie shot was taken there too. Summer is mostly crowded. If you go early morning maybe not that much.

ICONIC. A must have picture of the bridge from NY. Stunning views of skyline. Statue of Liberty looks tiny from this bridge center. When looking directions to walk the bridge, the directions shown for the walk way might look odd, as their entry is way far ahead. Follow the directions for the best route.

I saw this one in many old Hollywood films which might be the reason for getting excited to see it. Along with the other few bridges of NY city, some bus trips offer crossing this bridge in the evening or at night. We also had a ride in metro rail which goes through this bridge. I think the styles on the pillars are called Gothic. There was a huge sticker of this bridge from Manhattan was there on the body of our carrier, and we saw the exact view once.

I was in NYC for the first time and as far as I'm concerned, a walk across this iconic bridge was a must do. I wasn't disappointed. It is best walking from the Brooklyn side so you get the great panorama of Manhattan getting ever bigger before it swallows you whole.

  • 5/5 Samantha V. 2 years ago on Google
The brookly bridge marked a milestone in history, as it was the largest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its inauguration. It is very visited by tourists to take photos as an icon of NYC. Its structure and design seem impressive to me.

There's no question why this bridge is one of the most iconic and recognizable landmarks in history. NYC would be unrecognizable without it. The best times to walk across the bridge is during sunset or really late at night. During sunsets the bridge is filled with tourists but it'll still be one of the most beautiful walks of your life. If you visit late at night you'll see a completely different side of the Brooklyn bridge. One that sparkles against the skyline and moonlight and best if all, you'll be able to soak it all in for yourself!

  • 5/5 Shirley Perez A. 2 years ago on Google
Unforgettable experience. Great view of Manhattan. Choice to walk, take pics, enjoy with family, and even ride a bike, even this is not necessary some people enjoy the experience. Personally I think walking and crossing the Bridge will add an exciting feeling. Built in 1875, but perfectly preserved. You can't miss this New York City attraction. One of the highly recommended places to visit.

  • 5/5 Jenny L. 2 years ago on Google
It didn't take me long to walk the entire length of the bridge, I could've walked a bit faster if I didn't take time to stop and take pictures. However, walking the bridge gives you a good view of the waters and also the Manhattan bridge. You can also get nice instagram pictures as well on the bridge with the nice city background. There are also little vendors selling stuff on the bridge as well if you're looking for NYC souvenirs and/or a snack to munch on.

  • 5/5 Jullian P. 2 years ago on Google
If you love architecture I highly recommend this place. It can get a little busy during peak times. However this is a special piece of engineering that enables you to see all of the cities greatest attractions. Beautiful views. When you walk the bridge its best to do from Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Amaizing! It has been 2 years ago when I came here for the first time. It was not soo crowded like this time but always it is a really good plan. I love the idea to walk through this huge bridge. It’s supposed to be a tourist attraction, and the way it’s kept I can say it is sad. Won’t lie yeah the view is nice, but you also get a view of what NY really is. People per on the steps and garbage everywhere. They can definitely try a little harder to clean it up.

One of the many iconic spots in Manhattan (and Brooklyn). The best way to walk through it is from Brooklyn to Manhattan so you get the view of the city skyline right in front of you while you walk. Amazing landscape for some really cool pictures. During the day you gotta be careful to walk on the pedestrian path so you don’t get on the way of the bicycles that are coming through.

  • 5/5 Erica F. 2 years ago on Google
Such a great view of the city! I wanted to take my small dog on a walk over the bridge but I was worried that there was going to be too many people and bikes that would run him over. However, when we got there we saw a separate bike path so that was not an issue. Definitely go during the week around 10am for the least amount of people. Mr. Tiny and I loved it!

  • 5/5 Brian 2 years ago on Google
Just so beautiful. This bridge is so iconic it's not unusual to see tourists come to town for the sole purpose of seeing the Brooklyn Bridge. It is an integral part of the fabric and the culture of New York City.

Super iconic “have to”. Good sunrise spot and really easy walk- Don’t have to walk all the way across- you can get off about 3/4 of the way through to get to a great pizza/ice cream and pier.

Breathtaking to look at and I definitely recommend a walk across . We walked from the Manhattan side over into Brooklyn. Takes about 20 minutes. There is a bike hire station right next to it. Once over, we turned a left and a left again into Dumbo. 100 yards on the right walking down the hill is Front At Pizza . Well recommend for authentic Brooklyn Italian pizza. Walk another 10 mins and get a ferry back across the river close to the Staten Island Ferry. Stunning views.

It’s best to go on weekdays , early in the mornings. It’s usually packed in the holiday season. There is so many souvenirs you can buy. You might want to get some socks and gloves in winter because it gets very cold on the bridge.

One of the absolute best free attractions in NYC is walking over the Brooklyn bridge. It connects lower Manhattan with Brooklyn and is the oldest, most famous and most beautiful bridge - a NYC icon and landmark. TIP: more interesting is to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan as the NYC skyline is constantly in front of you.

A beautiful walk, day or night. Free to do and amazing views all around. A nice way to get out and enjoy the weather and right across on the Brooklyn side are a lot of great food spots and places to chill.

For up close views of the Manhattan skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the best free places to be. Go early in the morning to miss the tourists. But day or night the views are awesome. Be prepared to walk a lot! You can get to the bridge easily by subway. If you walk all the way across to Brooklyn, you can take a subway back to Manhattan. The water's edge from the Brooklyn side offers stunning views of Manhattan. If the weather is warm and you are sun sensitive, wearing sunscreen is a must.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an incredible experience, especially on a fall NYC day. Make sure you carve out enough time to enjoy this experience as you make your way across. Stop and soak in the various views of Manhattan and Brooklyn, While snapping pics of epic views. There are vendors along the path where you can purchase items. And if you do not want to walk back across, grab the ferry on the Brooklyn side. This is another fun experience as you soak in the city.

Of all the things I explored and experienced in New York, I must say the views of and from this bridge just might take the cake! It was really chilly and windy on this particular evening so we had the bridge to ourselves which was pretty neat in itself. If you are not into crowds like me, pick an evening that seems miserably cold outside and go for it! 😅 I promise the views of the city skyline from up here are totally worth it!

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic marvel that captivates with its grandeur and history. Walking across this architectural masterpiece is a true New York City experience. The views of the city skyline and the East River are breathtaking, especially during sunset. The bridge's intricate design and sturdy structure stand as a testament to human ingenuity. It's a haven for photographers, joggers, and tourists alike. The pedestrian path is well-maintained, allowing for leisurely strolls while admiring the mesmerizing vistas. The bridge's significance in connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn makes it a symbol of unity. It's wise to plan your visit during less crowded hours to fully appreciate its beauty and avoid the tourist rush. The history buffs will appreciate the informative plaques detailing the bridge's construction and significance. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the Brooklyn Bridge offers an unforgettable experience that captures the spirit of the city.

Walk in the walk lane and bike in the bike lane and you'll enjoy this bridge to the fullest. It's easily the most traveled bridge in NYC for pedestrians and cyclists. Sunrises are the best to look at from the middle of the bridge. The views are unobstructed there. Grab a light breakfast go and enjoy. Like I do.

Marvelous and mind-bending construction was done in the 18th century. It looks so beautiful and charming in the evening time, I spent almost 2 hours there with my friend and it was fun to watch people. It gives a panoramic view of lower Manhattan, which looks more beautiful at night. I took a lot of pictures and videos there and I will go again on some weekend.

This place is a historical treasure and one of the great places in New York to see a sunset. They explain who made it, what year , and how they accomplished such a feat in the middle. From Brooklyn to halfway point is normal when I got there. From halfway point to New York City it’s kinda crowded with market people selling things, 1 buck to do a 360 video for 8 seconds, and some food stands.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge at night was an absolutely enchanting experience. The tranquil ambiance, illuminated by the soft glow of the city lights, made for a truly breathtaking stroll. The views of Manhattan's skyline against the dark, starry backdrop were nothing short of magical. What added to the charm was the convenience of taking the York Street subway station back to Manhattan, making it a seamless and memorable nighttime adventure in the heart of New York City.

Free and a must-visit in NYC! Very walkable with many photo ops. Tips: -There are people with cameras trying to take photos of you so that they can sell you the photos— so to save money, I recommend bringing a tripod and a camera/phone. -make this a trip to walk from one borough to another and then walk back through the bridge during sunset— the bridge looks different during that time (it is magnificent!) — enjoy!

  • 5/5 Caroline M. 6 months ago on Google
We walked the bridge on the hottest day of the year, but that didn’t cause any problems because of all the stands that are posted along the walkway! Selling everything from paintings to Yankees hats to water ($1!). It was a beautiful view and easy to get to. We asked for directions to Printing Square House and just walked from that closest intersection. Definitely a must-see in NYC, and walk it if you can!! So worth it.

Strolling Across the Breathtaking Brooklyn Bridge The Brooklyn Bridge itself is a true architectural marvel, offering awe-inspiring views of the city. What sets it apart, though, are the rich historical and architecturally stunning surroundings at both ends of the bridge. Whether you choose to embark on a leisurely walk across the bridge, hop on a ferry to the other side, or simply stand and admire its grandeur, the Brooklyn Bridge will leave you in awe. During our visit, we decided to walk across to Brooklyn and return via ferry. I highly recommend an afternoon walk, especially in time for the enchanting sunset over Manhattan from the Brooklyn side. Our crisp February afternoon stroll was thoroughly enjoyable, with the views proving to be nothing short of spectacular. For photography enthusiasts, the bridge offers a wealth of picture-perfect opportunities. Don't miss out on adding this incredible bridge to your Manhattan itinerary.

While I’ve walked and biked over the bridge several times, I’ve paddled under it more than two dozen times, 17 of them during Manhattan circumnavigations. Beautiful, and a feat of engineering given when it was built in the 1880s and it is far more grand seeing it from a distance and below at all the angles one gets to take in from the cockpit of a kayak.

  • 5/5 Maneesh K. 4 months ago on Google
Take out some time to walk the whole length of the bridge from either side and return as the photos alone doesn't do justice and a full return walk will make your trip to Brooklyn bridge complete. I visited this place twice as the 1st time, I just walked a quarter distance, clicked pictures and returned back. It always gave a sense of incompleteness and then planned a 2nd trip to walk the full length which gave a sense of closure to visit this place. A lovely iconic bridge.

It’s a must see when you are in NYC! Such an iconic place! The view is simply breathtaking from every angle whether you are looking at Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn or Staten Island. It’s quite crowded especially when the weather is nice so prepare for that. The entrance can be a bit tough to find from the Manhattan side if there is construction going on. There are many tourist stands with souvenirs and Alicia Keys plays on repeat.

Brooklyn Bridge in New York is an iconic marvel that transcends its architectural significance, offering a breathtaking experience that encapsulates the city's essence. The bridge's majestic towers and intricate suspension cables create an awe-inspiring panorama, especially during sunset when the skyline is painted in hues of gold and pink. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a rite of passage, providing a unique vantage point of the city's skyline, Statue of Liberty, and the East River. The gentle breeze, coupled with the symphony of urban sounds, adds to the charm of this historic journey. The bridge is not merely a physical link between boroughs but a metaphorical connection to the city's history and resilience. The architectural beauty, combined with its role as a cultural symbol, makes the Brooklyn Bridge an essential New York experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, crossing this engineering marvel is a moment to cherish—a timeless encounter with the soul of New York City.

To walk and experience the Brooklyn Bridge is a must for anyone travelling to New York. Took a ferry from pier 11 to see the New York skyline with all its glory, then walked back into Manhattan on the Brooklyn Bridge after exploring the whole of Dumbo, Brooklyn. Because the bridge is a tourist attraction ,it can be a bit overcrowded at least in my case but it was fun walking through this buzzing part of the city.

Great experience walking on the Brooklyn Bridge. Don’t miss the sign that says Welcome to Brooklyn on walkway. It is a must do thing if you have time when visiting NYC. On both sides of the bridge you have ample options of restaurants. I suggest going to Brooklyn side via a taxi or train and then walk back to the city for better views.

If you come to NY, you have to make the Brooklyn Bridge a part of your adventure! This iconic landmark has all the trappings of a New York City moment. I picked up a Citibike (electric) and rode along the Hudson from Manhattan times square. Easy ride prob 25mins with very easy bike lanes to follow. Once at the bridge best to check the bike and walk the bridge upper level as no bikes allowed on the top part. Well worth the journey as you get amazing views of the city and experience the bridge with heaps of photo opportunities. I went early in the morning(8am) to beat the crowds. Definitely glad I got up early to experience walking the bridge and seeing the views
