I don't know where to begin. Gencarelli's is like visiting my Italian mother-in-law's kitchen. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted like a long lost relative! Everything about this place is appetizing AF! You will want to buy everything in sight! And, the quality is as good as it gets! I have been hooked on all things Italian since I was blessed to meet my wife 3 decades ago. Oops, I'm getting old! Don't be fooled by commercialized knock offs! Get to Gencarelli's now! The best 7 layer cake around! My mom's favorite, and we celebrated her this past Wednesday. Everyone raved about these cakes. They are so fresh, lite and delicious!

100% Authentic Italian bakery. My boss stops in every now and then and gets various items. Everything I’ve had is fresh and delicious. The danish are always amazing. The cherry and apple danish aren’t far my favorite from what I have had. I would like to try everything they bake. It all looks amazing.

For the holidays get your pie early. There is usually a line out the door. I stopped getting coffee at Dunkin and come here instead. Also all family birthday cakes I purchase here. Best choice I ever did quality baking!

Would have given 5 stars😞 I've been coming here for over 30 years and I Never had a problem. It was ALWAYS Amazing. Get honey balls there every year too. Got them for Thanksgiving and they had no sprinkles and were very dry. Told the girl that I've been getting them for years from you and they ALWAYS had sprinkles and not dry. She didn't even care. I.NEVER heard of honey balls without sprinkles. I was Very Disappointed that I couldn't serve them like that. Also they wouldn't put any aside for me. I live very far and I wanted to make sure I got them and they refused to put them aside which they did that every year too. It's sad everything is So Expensive and the quality.of everything has gone downhill! Bought them back and got my money refunded. That was fair of them.😞😞😞

One of the best bakeries around. Got the carrots cake today and it was delicious. However I wasn't happy about the 3% increase when a credit card was used, I feel it's just another way to use fees as an excuse to raise price. If you are going to charge more for credit cards then charge no taxes when you pay cash. Give us something!!!

My first visit was Saturday, August 12 to order a birthday cake for my daughter. After going to my old bakery, my niece told me about Gencarelli's. It was like heaven when I entered...a REAL bakery! I live in Piscataway, but would travel to a bakery in South Orange (which has since gone down in quality and customer service). Farrah provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service and was extremely patient with me as it was my first visit. The cake was excellent and I am well pleased with my NEW bakery! Kudos to Gencarelli's!
