Chicken sandwich was good but definitely not worth the super long wait. Line was out the door and wrapped around the side of the building. The music playlist that played outside was good. It took 58 minutes to get through the line and place our order. Food took about 25 minutes to prepare. After placing your order you must give one of the staff your number so they can assign you a table. We ordered country chicken (no heat) and mild chicken. The hot wings were medium and it was spicy! One order of fries are enough for 2 to share. Loved their special sauce. Happy to have tried it and would go back if the wait was closer to 10 minutes..max 15 min. Worth a try if you have time and get on line before you are hungry. Staff were all very friendly. Umbrellas offered to protect you from cooking under the sun as you wait.

Incredible option for chicken sandwiches! Was fortunate enough to talk to the founders for 10+ minutes and hear their story. There is a secret menu which is cool to know 😎 Customizing your spice really lets you personalize your sandwich though I wouldn't lean into the hotter options since it takes away from the succulent chicken. Seating is very limited considering it's always crowded, but parking is relatively accomodating (ESPECIALLY compared to the Chinatown location)

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Been to Howlin' Rays in Chinatown before. Great food there too, but just not a great location. This location is just so much better. Staff was super friendly, I love that there's bathrooms here that are actually nicely decorated (Chinatown location requires you to pay with coins to get in at the mall-owned bathrooms). Lots of parking. Music is bumping but not overly loud. Loved it and will be going back. Highly recommend the waffles.

Amazing chicken and surprisingly amazing service. Everyone was so friendly. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was around a 30 min wait. They have misters outside and provide shade umbrellas. Chicken wise, we all got half chickens dark meat and some sides. I got the hot which definitely had a good kick. I can't believe how flavorful and juicy the chicken was. I would definitely come back.

Got here around 6pm on a Friday. Stumbled upon this place by accident as I was craving waffles and Google suggested it. Line was outside and there were quite a few people ahead of us. Music was blasting so we were outside, jamming. Once inside, guy taking the order was super high energy and knowledgeable. Asked questions about what we liked and offered suggestions. We got medium on his recommendation and we were not disappointed. We ordered a whole chicken, waffles, and the soda they had there. Bonus, they have a water spigot with still and sparkling water which was great! All the employees in the cooking area were upbeat, singing and shouting, all looking like they were having a good time. Chicken was delicious. We did agree that next time we would do mild, but only so we could eat the chicken faster. The waffles were decently sized and airy. If I didn't have half a chicken to devour, I would've gotten another one. Our mouths were feeling the sting of medium but it didn't deter us because the flavor was great. Staff kept walking by to check in with the tables and pick up trash. Everyone was very friendly, huge smiles, and quick to answer questions. We have been dying to go back but somehow only end up back in Pasadena on Mondays which, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Will definitely go back as soon as we can get up there on a day they are open!! Nice outside patio and large inside. Loud music and overall very cheery atmosphere.

THE best fried chicken I have ever had. No competition. But do not sleep on the fries. They are fantastic. Also, it’s worth mentioning how awesome the crew is. Overall an amazing experience. Wish the wait time wasn’t so bad.

Famous Chicken Place - We were lucky that didn't have to wait to order out food. Customer service were really cool and friendly that were represented very well. For Chicken, Leg & Thigh were making juicy and delicious, and breast & wing were not making dry as well. (Juicy as well but White meat has less fatty) Also, Macaroni Salad is also delicious for having celery inside that made more tasty in my opinion. Definitely come back this place for Chicken + Waffles at the weekend, and I recommended Half Bird with Mild, Shake Fries for people who come here for the first time.

It was my first time at this place. My husband loves their food. He's thrilled to come here instead of going to the one in Chinatown. The staff was phenomenal, helpful, and friendly. They have a small but inviting patio in the back. Will definitely come back again.
