Terrible. The guy at the front desk with the skull ring, is so obnoxiously loud when he asks you “okay are you experiencing any symptoms?” “Do you currently have any STI’s?” Like where is the confidentiality? Where is the discretion? Absolutely not okay. He was very condescending about the whole thing. Eventually they denied me because they were understaffed....so why would you put on the website that you accept walk ins? You definitely don’t accept walk ins!

Pros: Full screenings offered for all STDs, including the HIV NAAT test which shows anything with only a 10 day window instead of 3 month window. This is far superior to the rapid test offered at Out of the Closet. Staff is very friendly, warm and knowledgable. In this sense, they make you feel extremely welcome. Wait time is not bad at all, even for walk-in, and they take appointments, very cool. Counselors are great, and so is desk staff. Everyone took time to answer any questions that I had and made sure that I was aware of all my options. There was no rudeness whatsoever (which is uncommon in some government-funded jobs), just eagerness to listen and help. As far as services and warmth, this place does a FANTASTIC job. They also offer validated parking for $2.00 for 2 hours below the building, but you have to ask or you wouldn't know this, now you know :) Cons: The WAITING ROOM is really poorly designed and feels way too claustrophobic. It gave me a lot of anxiety due to being so narrow, crammed and overcrowded with no personal space, and being backed by a big glass window where everyone outside below can see you. There were also several badly behaving dogs that I couldn't get away from due to the lack of space and proximity of all of us squished together. One was even trying to bite every other person that walked by. Fix this and the place could be awesome!

The genuine service, and concern by the staff here is truly amazing. Center provides FREE HIV/STD testing. Walk-ins accepted, but it's suggested to make an appointment. Everyone from the front desk, to counselors, to their physicians always provide a safe non-judgmental environment. Know your status !

I really hate leaving a negative review of the center merely out of principle, but surely, something internal has to be done to fix the lack of customer service and accessibility to healthcare. Getting an appointment is such a disappointing experience; agents rarely pick up and securing an appointment is a back and forth game of being on hold, leaving a call back number, being called back only to be transferred to another department. Most frustrating was my experience today, where I left a call back, got called back, transferred and the line disconnects. I call back and when I get through am told I need to call the correct number. Thumbs all the way down. And the apathetic tone in the staff's voices says it all.

Staff is rude and unhelpful in general. I will never recommend this place to anyone if you can find other place go somewhere else.but never try this place as your first choice, or second.

I’ve gone to them for years because they are the only service really available for poor trans people. I think the lack of urgency sucks and I think this place sucks. It could really use an overhaul where it’s resources are being used to train them or hire more doctors. Also it’s really stupid to have 3-4 different primary doctors in 2/3 years. Like who runs this place?

My friend had an appointment at 6:15pm, we showed up at the front desk 6:18pm due to lack of directions in the building. And guess what, they didn’t accept us! They just said the lab was closed sharp at 6:15pm, which is ridiculous.

Have been trying to schedule an appointment since last Friday. No one replies to several emails and when I call for the 3rd time in one day to finally get one scheduled with a supervisor it ends up getting cancelled. I'm told I'll be emailed so I'm back at square one and likely being given the run around. This is the service poor people get though I suppose.
