Came here to camp the night before starting the Condor Trail and I’d go to great lengths never to make that mistake ever again. Small cramped sites and no enforcement of noise issues even well after quiet hours left us listening to blaring music and large groups yelling even after midnight. Large sections of the campground were packed wall to wall with tents. If you don’t mind all of that it did have pay showers and laundry in the bathrooms

Went here for my first camping experience. A medium amount of land with plenty of camping lots. Lots aren't very big, only about two medium/large tents fit alongside a car or two. It's a bit difficult to navigate the area at night, however if you are having trouble finding your lot, look to the road floor for the lot numbers. There is no signal which can be seen as a plus or negative depending on how you prefer to camp. There are available bathrooms, showered, and clothes washers/dryers available for use. Only the bathrooms are free, everything else requires quarters to use. Each camping lot has a fire pit. Bring everything you might need, the closest store is a small liquor store which only sells food and drinks. The lake is good for fishing, not so good for swimming. There is also a makeshift oath alongside the right of the lake. Overall a good time and good utilities.

I have not been camping here but the lake is nice! After the rains early this year, the lake is the most full I have seen! No reception when going up the mountain. There's a store at the bottom just before coming up the mountain I don't think there's a store at the actual lake so try to bring everything you will need. There are several picnic areas but during the weekend it gets really packed in the summer so you will need to go early to reserve those picnic spots as it's first come first served. Since the lake is really full, there is only a tiny area where you can swim on the shore and that kinda sucks. We always take the boat so we get the full experience. The water is pretty choppy, it can get windy. There are little coves all around the lake that if you have a boat, you can drive out and find a spot on the coves. It's super nice to do that because like I said it gets packed. Dog friendly, it does get super hot during the summer and there are a lot of dogs so keep that in mind. There are restrooms on the shore just a little off the dock and also there are multiple floating bathrooms on the lake.

Camp ground was pleasant and huge.. we stayed with full hookups there's only a few of these spots. Nice drive,no service area but they offer wifi... as for the lake it wasn't what I expected the beach area is small and it was windy so it kinda made it more an of a drag to sit there with the kiddos and enjoy.Rangers are always on duty and can help find your spot when you arrive afterhour's...

Took the family camping here. The wife thought it was too close to other campers but liked our spot. We played in the designated swim area. It was very murky but the water felt great and the kids loved it. I like that there was clean portapotties and flowing water nearby. Our site was shaded but there were others that had no shade whatsoever. The water in the lake was a bit icky but we go in it anyway. There was a store close enough that we were able to make runs if necessary. Our site was quiet time from 10 pm to 8 am and they definitely made sure. The location allowed for us to get a great look at the sky once the sun went down. Perfect site for star gazing. We didn’t get to rent water crafts but the lake is wide open. If you bring your own or rent one you will have a great time. Not very many people fishing and we unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity. All in all, we will return but this time with better planning. We went on a first time trip and never having went camping as a group before and the trip turned out solid. If you’re second guessing or trying to find a good introductory spot to take the family, this is a good one. Make sure to bring a shaded canopy or some sort of covering in case you don’t get a shaded spot.

The California rains have made this place more green than I can convey, and our most gorgeous camp spot so far. Lake is overflowing! The campground is very well-maintained. Staff maintains an active and consistent presence, which I think is great for a few reasons. There seems to be much pride and in the grounds maintenance, and it shows! I had a problem with my sewer line (person before me broke their line, which prevented me from hooking up) and the staff was here and under a minute to rectify the situation. All bathrooms are clean and even smell nice. The full hook up spots are wide and spacious. Our site, # 20, was mostly level, only slightly low on one side. Also, due to the rain, a lot of DG has been placed on the campsites which helps with leveling and cleanliness as well. Tent campsites, or non-hook up sites, are full of grass at the moment, who keeps things cool and tidy.

Went to spend a day on the lake. Had a friend who had a boat so I didn't need to rent one. They do have boats you can rent. Parking for the day was 14 dollars and there are lots of campsites. Mostly dirt, so you will need an outdoor rug.

I have camped here many times with my daughter and once with family. They loved it here and so do I. I made the mistake of camping at Castaic Lake because it was closer to Six Flags and it just doesn't compare. The lake and recreation at Castaic is awesome but the campsite is no comparison to Lake Piru. Lake Piru's campsites are perfectly sized and there are affordable sites with electrical hookups. The bathrooms are so much more clean than the other guys and the showers work. The area is more secluded and because of this there is more wildlife and serenity. Each site is well maintained and so far I have had little to no issue with insects including ants. Me and my daughter love it here and will continue to come back.

Went here to get away for a bit and fish, won’t be doing that again. The quiet time is not enforced. A group right across from my camp yelling well passed midnight. Also if you’re going to advertise wifi, maybe let people know it’s not available everywhere.

We love this campground so close to LA yet your camping in the mountains & by the lake! Camp sites are at a fair price. Bathrooms and coin showers.

It's summer and it's scorching hot. I have personally observed this older park host who asked this family with a tiny kiddie pool to drain it because California is in a drought; fair and noble reason. Until I looked at the spot next to this family and they also have a tiny kiddie pool but the park host didn't ask them to do the same as the former because this other one happens to be white people.

This camping site is good has restrooms with shower and a lake to relax. The only thing that I couldn't fly My drone since it is a secured location that's what I was told and there is no signal at all. I like the fact that they sell Ice and Firefox wood there You just have to ask for them and the cater them to you.

Great campground, with the rains this year, the lake was very full. Swimming area in the lake is small, but better than nothing. Friendly staff, they make many rounds everyday and great vibe in all.

Good quiet place to camp. Reasonable rates. Lot of sites with power only and a few with full hook-ups. Sites are dirt but well kept. Some sites are not real level. Lake is close but real low now (Oct. 2022). Also have a nice park with kids climbing toys, a basketball hoop and 9 hole disk golf course that is about 0.5 miles from the campground.

Campground is more like a dirt parking lot. Very disappointed, sites are super close together, no privacy and in general the campground is in need of much maintenance. Will not be back and not a campground I recommend.

Such a great getaway just 45 minutes from LA! The sites are big, the restrooms are clean, and the prices are affordable!

I was there scoping camping sites. Nice place, but watch out for those snakes. They blend in really well with the landscape. I will be camping there eventually!

It was okay, place is peaceful but I don't like the dust building whenever there's a car passing. Pur camping nights is awesome!

I love camping here. It is reasonably priced, spacious, and so wonderfully quiet. The camp hosts are always so helpful and kind.

Great experience, had a lot of fun camping here with my friends and family. The only downside was that there were a lot of parties going on which I didn't mind until they were still partying after lighouts out (at 10 PM) but I don't blame the camp hosts for that so I give piru five stars!

They don't have anyone patrolling at night first night there was a fight almost 1 am took over 45min for a patrol to make it out until then you hear drunk person fighting mith multiple people within there group not pleasant to go out with family and young children and fear what can go wrong and no phone service nor night ranger patrolling. There's no way to contact anyone since there is no service they wanna charge each ( per person) $10 to use Hotspot per day. You have to drive 4 miles to go to some what clean water if you wanna swim. The one that's near the camp area, the water has a funky smell 😳 I feel that the person who reserves the campsite should have access without any fee to the Hotspot incase of an emergency.
