The absolute WORST doctor I have ever seen. If I could give zero stars I would. The AUDACITY she has to give you the nastiest attitude after YOU have been waiting damn near 2 hours to be seen. I cannot fathom how she is a medical professional. Nothing professional about her or her team. Does not bring in chart to write notes nor to review any medical history that THEY demanded to be sent to them . I after waiting more than 1 1/2 hour was left for about 20 more minutes as she “went to go get my chart” and was actually attending another patient who complained rather than myself who was first to be seen. Ladies don’t waste your time with her. Look for someone who treats people with respect and is attentive in their field.

Let me start by saying that one star is being generous. The staff in front office and back office have no communication whatsoever. If you are waiting for an authorization you have to call prior to your visit to make sure the authorization has been processed by them, otherwise its a waste of a visit, they wont see you. If you call to get an update they will tell you they will give you a call back, forget it, they wont call you back. I actually had to drive 9 miles (from my house to their office in Gardena) to make sure my inquiry was addressed, I was told they would review and give me a call back and 2 days later, no call back. Dr. Allen is rarely in the office, and when she is there she seems absent. I'm not knocking her skills, but i have not had care from her directly.

This was by far the worst experience at a doctor's office in my entire life. First of all, they missed the IPA on my health insurance card and told me that Dr. Allen was in my network. Turns out that she was not and they still charged me for the visit, even though I would have never gone there if they hadn't told me I was covered. Second, I had an appointment and was there for almost 4 hours! Just to see the doctor for 5 minutes. They brought me into a room after being there for an hour and a half to ask me very personal medical questions, all while nurses AND patients were walking in and out of the room. There was zero privacy, not to mention there were signs all over the walls saying things like "SOILED AREA" and "DIRTY AREA". Then, they sent me back out to wait for another hour and a half, just to be asked the same questions by another nurse. They finally put me in an exam room, but did not give me anything to put over my bottom half after I undressed. I had to find something to cover myself with. And thank god I did because two people accidentally walked in while I waited for the doctor. Once Dr. Allen arrived she seemed extremely tired and overworked, I had to finish her sentences for her at times. She gave me a quick exam and sent me on my way. Then it took two attempts by two different nurses to draw my blood. The first nurse moved the needle around inside my arm in a circle motion, something I had never experienced before that I will truly never forget. Then, there was the billing and records department. Once the office called me to let me know that they had made a mistake and missed my IPA, they said they would send e records to my Primary Care Physician and would not charge me for the doctor's visit (which they lied about because I still received a hefty bill). I spent the next two weeks trying to get them to send my PAP and hormone panel results to my PCP, just so I could find out what was wrong with me. When they finally did, I went to my PCP and he said that Gardena Women's Center had only sent the hormone panel and everything was fine. But, they never received the PAP results so I would have to reach out again to get those and then schedule another appointment. This was really the last straw for me, but then the bill they had promised wouldn't come...did. I'm only writing this because I truly have never felt so unsafe or taken advantage of by a doctor's office in my entire life. It had been years since I had gotten a PAP because it's such a vulnerable exam that gives me a lot of anxiety. But this made me never want to get one ever again.

She needs to have her license taken. Horrific attitude towards staff to the point where they are scared to message her. Will absolutely treat races different in that white patients will be looked after while others will be cast aside like lepers. 20 Hours to see a patient who later died. Gwen Allen robs children of their parents. Gwen Allen is guilty of manslaughter. Resign.

the staff is nice but trying to get a hold of them to make an appointment or trying to have the dr call and discuss things with me is very unprofessional. I have been calling when they are open and leaving voicemails which I never get a return call. I have never ever been treated like this. Plus the results take months to get uploaded to the healow app. Its very unprofessional.

I liked it at first but turned out that later on it wasn’t as great. It’s a nice office with mostly nice staff but reliability isn’t as good. I asked for a copper IUD because that is my only option health wise and the doc said yes no problem, just come back next week you don’t need an appointment. Great I thought. Comes the day I’m all ready to drive over, just did the call I was advised to do beforehand. And just got no we aren’t ready, the IUD isn’t here yet. Ok gotta wait to next month then since you are supposed to come on a strong day of your period. Got an approval letter form my insurance short after! Comes next month, next period, same excuse. Same the month after that. I had enough! Also in the waiting area is an advertisement for some hormonal test if you feel certain ways to just get it tested and corrected. I asked the doc for this test as well, no problem she said and the took blood the same day, never got my results either and that was in 2021! After a talk to my primary today I found out that she isn’t referring patients to Dr. Allen anymore either but rather someone she trusts.

My wife called for making appointment and this lady (Linda) answer and she wasn’t charming on the phone and her way of talking was aggressive and rude when my wife was trying to get more information about her appointment. At first Linda gave my wife a date that was going to be 10 days later and later my wife explained to Linda that she’s been pregnant about 15 weeks and she needed to see the doctor asap plus prenatal prescription, after this Linda said I will give you a date sooner but this is when Linda went off with her smart mouth and being rude to my wife. My wife has been going to Dr. Gwen Allen since our first child and now this our third child… Me and my wife have never experienced with this such unpleasant experience with this person Linda. I honestly was unsatisfied with this service… Hopefully someone at the office can read this and fix this issue and trained her how to work under pressure and keeping herself calm because her tone of her voice can change the mood of the people’s day… remember a lot of women are already going thru a lot and we don’t need more frustration and stress over these childish talks… Please talk to her Linda and make a better please for Dr. Gwen Allen and the rest of her staff.

Worse service ever . Waited in my room for 1 hour and 30 min and on the top of that they mixed my file with other woman file . And on the top of that I did not see a doctor . They send me a student to do my ultrasound and tell me look the baby is kicking everything fine . An appointment of less than 3 minutes with no doctor and almost 2 hour wait ! I can’t wait to change my OB

Horrible birth experience and horrible experience every time I go in for an appointment. I’ve had issues postpartum and never can reach someone or get a call back. The worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m now scared to go to the doctor.

I loved seeing women of color thriving in their own space. Seeing this black owned women’s health clinic was inspiring. Everyone worked as a family and in a very loving way to where you could feel their passion for their work. Although, the doctor that saw me personally, Dr. Melodi, had some bad news for me, I hadn’t felt alone and felt seen and heard during my entire time. They are welcoming and make any experience seem light and like a place to speak with family and trusted friends. I cannot wait to make this my gynecology and overall women’s health home. Keep up the wonderful work you guys are doing in LA.

Very unpleasant and rude atmosphere. I went in today cause I’ve been dealing with ovarian cysts. Dr. Melody talks very ghetto and rude. Constantly rolling her eyes when talking to you . Today she did a a papsmere to check and see if I had any irregular bleeding or discharge from dealing with my ovarian cyst and she LIED and said I wasn’t bleeding when there’s blood on the swab stick.

I am currently recovering from a myomectomy, done by doctor Allen. She removed three fibroids, the largest the size of a tennis ball. I am so grateful for the care I received, the scar is beautiful. Doctor Allen is amazing and a gift from God. I’ve been suffering for so many years and now I feel free from the monsters that took over my uterus. I am excited to start a new life, new diet, less stress. No one listened to me besides Doctor Allen. I am very happy.

Dr. Allen saved my life at an HP clinic, about 16 years ago. No emergency room. I was hemorrhaging from my pregnancy. But I was blessed she was there! She delivered all my five children within an 8 year timeline. As time went by it became clear that Dr. Allen was in demand. Thank you Dr. Allen.

Horrible place. They don’t know what they are doing and you’ll never get to see Dr Allen because there are only nurse practitioners and students. Didn’t trust this place with my pregnancy so I changed doctors.

If you want an informative and attentive OB doctor for your high risk pregnancy don’t go to Dr Allen. I was sent to a specialist she never went over the specialist report with me concerning my unborn child. Never made a plan of action or referral to a pediatric cardiologist or pediatric cardiac surgeon. I’m very disappointed and very glad that I got a second opinion.

Good day to all. I'm a patient at the South Bay Health Care Gardena Clinic, and I must say that over all this clinic has tried its best to provide good service, but there are exceptions, to this, such as today! Today, I had an appointment or at least that's what the call center told me , my "appt. Was schedule for 10:45am on March 5th at the gardena clinic" when I arrived at the clinic at 10:15, the front office was "busy" and they had me stand there waiting for assistance more than 7 min. Once the front office girl call me forward I said I have an apot at 10:45... long story short, she said it was at 10:00am, and they only have a 15 min grace period! Well, I said I was on time anyhow because they took about 7-8 min to actually acknowledge my presence, because they were "busy" ignoring me! But here was the part that really made me feel unvalued, uncared for as a patient it's that I ask her to check if they would still see me because according to them I was late. Technically I was on time even if I was not aware that they had change my appt to 10am instead of 10:45am. So, Dr. Nefertiti Brown said she could not see me, period! I said to them I had been in the Emergency room on saturday and I needed a follow up, and I called monday to come in until thursday March 5th. I have been in pain, and Dr. NEFERTITI BROWN had no compassion in the situation whatsoever, this Dr could have at least taken the time to seek out more info about my visit, instead of just dismissing me without any care. I am very disappointed at this Dr. BROWN, because I have always been on time at my appointments, and always waited long time, I have been in pain since a week ago, went to E.R. and I was supposed to follow up with my PCP, but because a slight appointment misunderstanding I am supposed to wait for another appointment date! I'm totally disappointed at Dr. Brown, who has lost her sensitivity and empathy towards her patients. I must say that Erica De Leon assistant manager was kind enough to talk to me and apologize for the inconvenience. I always had a fair experience at this clinic, but some Doctors have lost the human touch!!!

Dr. Kahen is easy to talk to and to work with, good qualities for a primary care physician. They have an medical tech on staff for convenient blood draws and related tests. Be advised that his practice (clinic) is oriented to the Medi-Cal demographic, so the small lobby is often crowded. You can get an appointment or show up for a first come, first serve visit - call ahead for hours.

Don’t come here. I’m really Lenient and patient and understanding person but this situation that I had just to prescribe medicine and literally forgetting waiting last minute when I have surgery the next day I need these pills and now I have to miss a surgery because the doctor doesn’t know how to fill a prescription is absurd. I feel like I’m not being take care of. This place has made me so emotionally drained and stress out. Find somewhere else. I believe in second chances but I gave too many. I repeat don’t come here

The Nurses at this place is so awesome they actually take their time with you I suffer from Anxiety and my blood pressure readings was coming up high and they took it until I was comfortable. The doctor that was there was so kind and compassionate towards me. I will choose this place again and again for Prenatal care.

I am commenting because she is being mentioned as a doctor on NBC News. Your karma is coming Ms. Allen. Were you paid off by them folks??? Was your license threatened to be revoked if not given better care to the pale face? Are you apart of the divine 9? The creator is watching you and your time is up.

I love ❤️ Dr Allen she so patient and understanding I had surgery in 2018 and 2023 still loving and caring but Gardena Memorial was the worst Hospital ever. The nurses are whack, except for maybe two. Not clean nurses are going back-and-forth about what patients are there’s not responding and trust me. I barely wanted anything but water would be nice. Time to time and change in my bed after having surgery but other than that I love going to her but I would definitely choose another hospital. Thank you.

Dr.Dan is the best doctor I reffered my parents and husband over because I know his work. If it were only him I would give 10 stars but because his staff puts us on hold for over 1 hr and are rude on the phone i still gave it 5 stars. Regardless of his bad staff I still go there because you cant find a doctor like Dan Kahen. His one of a kind, knows his stuff, and provides great quality care! We in our household love Dr.Dan but not his staff but its ok 🙏👍
