Time flies… my last and only time dining with them was probably back in 2011. Oysters fresh as usual; the scallop was so sweet. Bouillabaisse made with quality ingredients and very tasty. It’s rare that after 10 years their food still impress me the same way as my first visit.

Like the outdoor seating, service and food was average. We had lobster rolls cold and hot versions and seafood cioppino. Lobster rolls are just ok. Had better elsewhere. Cioppino seafood was not so good. The shrimps, scallops were rubbery (overcooked). It’s too bad because we’ve been coming here for years and their food is not as good as it was.

Decided to grab a quick bite & some drinks while we explored Santa Monica & this place did not disappoint. It was super cozy, the service was warm, friendly and on point and the food was deliciously amazing! Definitely would come back for another visit to try more of their menu

Our experience at the Blue Plate Oysterette was good. The seafood is amazing, fresh, and flavorful. The service could have been a little better, particularly the seating. The server seemed to pay attention to one table, spending a lot of time talking away. However, overall the restaurant is a good one.

Came by to try the lobster roll, and had the opportunity to try both the hot and cold lobster rolls. Definitely enjoyed the cold one more. French fries are super crisp. Cocktails are delicious. Also, I tried the red snapper appetizer, it was very well balanced with the sauce. Overall, would recommend and would try again.

Tried the dine LA menu, and loved it! Service was super fast and all the food tasted great. The first course was clam chowder which was light but packed with flavor and really celebrated the flavor of clams. The lobster roll is enormous and comes with a heap of fries. I had the hand roll combo which is great for anyone looking for a flavorful meal without huge portions. Overall I was very impressed and would like to return and try the regular menu.

Amazing seafood. The server was very helpful and friendly. The calamari was fresh and tasty. The Crabcake was amazing. There was happy hour deal on baked oysters which were tasty. The drinks were good as well. Would visit again when I am in LA.

A local friend of mine told sent me here on a trip to LA and I wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere is like a classic oyster bar taken up a notch. Bar service was attentive, the ceviche fresh and spectacular, and the tequila beverages unique and potent. I am still dreaming of that ceviche! I’d certainly recommend stopping by when you’re in the Los Angeles area. Follow me on Instagram at amalfiflavors to follow my journey to Italy and more reviews and fabulous food.

WOW. Best oysters in LA so far. The vinaigrette is the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. Would come back just for that. The frozen marg was perfect after a long walk. And the vodka/mezcal shooter were NO JOKE. So tasty and strong. 10/10 for everything we ordered :).

Came yesterday during their happy hour with the live band playing on the patio, nice vibes. I was offered a good table even though I was by myself, which was sweet. Tried both the half dozen raw and grilled oysters which were great; loved the watermelon mignonette! Service was very friendly and quick with everything. Recommended :)

I wish Google allowed video on reviews, the oysters were amazing! The lobster roll was not my favorite flavor wise but very fresh and well presented. A+ for decor, I’ll be back for oysters and drinks! 😁

What a great spot to grab a bite, a beer and chill. The lobster roll was great and the steamer was really exceptional. The service was on point and their alcohol selection was perfect on a hot day on the beach.

Everything we had were good, seasoned just right. The potion is on the smaller size, makes one craves for more.

The rice was underdone and the salad was over dressed. I think Blue Plate Oysterette can be kind of overrated. The oysters were good at least.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Came for the dineLA menu AMBIANCE: Casual. Noise level is average. We sat outside and brought our doggies ORDERED: - Oysters - Prawns - Miso Clam Chowder (a bit salty, but the flavors were good!) - Yellowtail Aguachille (sOoOo good!!!!) - Classic Temaki Set (the crab and salmon were my fave of the three. the tuna was a bit bland) - Lobster Roll (one cold, one hot) - Key Lime Pie - Rabbit's Foot (a bit on the sweet side) SERVICE: Service was ok. Our waitress was nice, but the energy she gave off was that she was not too happy. PARKING: Street parking or private lot, which only takes credit card. Food: 4/5 stars Service: 4/5 stars Venue: 4/5

The location is great, right next to the coastal promenade. The lobster sandwich was very good, the fried fish was also good, and the fries were crispy and would have been tastier if they were thicker. The only pity is that the oysters are not worth $24, they are too small.

The food here was super!!! delicious. Especially, the bouillabaisse was even more delicious than the stew I had in France. I would like to express my gratitude to the chef here. And I thought it would be great for the chef to cook for a long time. 자주 올게요.!!!🤤🤤🤤❣️❣️❣️ In the case of oysters, American ones are not fishy and are delicious. Please keep this in mind when choosing.

We stopped by here right after going to the bungalow and the oysters on people’s tables looked good. I got a dozen oysters, fancy set(lobster, scallop & toro), crab and fried oyster hand rolls. The oysters were phenomenal, very fresh and delicious. The fancy set was also delicious and the lobster was my favorite. The crab was also great but the fried oyster was better. Overall it was a great dining experience. The color of the food is a little off because there was a blue light in the outside dining area. I’d definitely come back again and they their other menu items. Customer service was great by Jason and it was an overall great dining experience.

Me and my wife had lunch on Friday around 1 pm. It wasn’t crowded and when I asked to a lady to seat inside she was making faces and I told her that I didn’t want to be in the sun. She finally let me go inside. My waitress was very nice, the food was delicious. I had the lobster roll with fries and my wife had fish with salad.

Great little seafood restaurant across the street from the Santa Monica beach/pier. They had some delicious happy hour food and drink specials. We sat in their enclosed outdoor patio space off of the street and ordered raw oysters, grilled artichokes, garlic parm fries, and Mac and cheese for the kids. It was all delicious, although the oysters were incredibly small. If you’re dining with someone that’s more of a land eater, this might not be the pick for you. If you love seafood, and are looking for a place to dine with an ocean view, you won’t regret coming here!

Lobster Mac & Cheese with white truffle oil…. Need I say more? My favorite things beautifully baked and served on a skillet. I nearly ate the entire serving myself. We also ordered the First Mate Tower. It came with a nice assortment of raw seafood favorites, with oysters and mussels that tasted fresh. The crab claws and half Maine lobster were great, but the surprising star for me was the crab dip. If you are a seafood lover, Blue Plate Oysterette is a great place for you. You really can’t make a fuss about expensive seafood when it’s top quality, and my experience with Blue Plate justified that.

Was here for the Lucky Yu Japanese-Baja California pop up I think the oysters are crazily overpriced - they’re good but not mind blowing. Got the fried shrimp (good), the Japanese fries (similar to McDonald’s fries with some Japanese bbq sauce and bonito flakes; not as good), mussels (great bread and broth, but mussel meat was abysmal) Orange wine was good, I recommend Good ambiance with nice heat lamps outside

The drinks were tasty and most of the dishes had really great flavors. Server was friendly and attentive. Parking was cheap at the public garage on 2nd, just 1 block over.

What a great find. Especially in Santa Monica where everything is expensive but not always deservingly so. This place was so worth the money. Excellent ambiance, food and service. Best lobster roll I found on our trip. The “sushi tacos” are delicious and unique. Oysters were on point and fresh. Great wine and drink selection. We had a blast, would definitely go back.

Went there during happy hour (2-6pm or something), oysters were 18$ for 6 pcs and they were delicious! Also loved their clam chowder and old bay seasoned fries🥰 cocktail shrimp was a bit too pricey, otherwise super fresh and tasty as well.

Almost everything was amazing. They let you order the different types of oysters individually to mix and match, rather than having to order a dozen or so of the same ones. The lobster roll was good and the mussels were the best I've ever had. The oyster shoot was alright only because it wasn't what I was expecting, it was made with mezcal and is nothing like a classic one with the bloody Mary mix and vodka however they do offer a classic one. The only thing we didn't like was the michelada, absolutely terrible but not bad enough to make me not give it five stars.

Surprised by the ratings on this (I expected less given a 4.4 !) First and foremost this is THE place to be in Santa Monica if looking for fresh excellent quality seafood. They have a plethora of options for oysters all the way from west coast to east coast, albeit on the pricier end ($44 for the dozen on a half shell - chef selection). I appreciated their seasonal items - they had Caribbean Stone crab legs that were to die for, their drinks are excellently mixed and compliment the food and diverse as well. I do a recommend you stop by if you’re a fancy seafood aficionado 🦞 Service was fast for us without any issues ! Bon apetit

Cute little oyster spot w outside patio and oyster happy hour (they call it oyster hour). During that time oysters are $15 for 6. Option for raw, grilled. They give a mix of different regional oysters on each plate. While the raw and grilled were very good the oysters are still a bit pricey for a HH.

Had a nice dinner on the patio. Oysters were fresh and delicious. The mussels and scallops were fantastic and the softshell crab was good. Friendly server, would definitely go back.

Overall good dining experience and good food. They will not take you until your exact reservation time which is nice because then you don't have to wait for a table once it is your reservation time! We had the calamari to start which has little zucchini chips and shrimp in it too, delicious. My husband had the oysters and lobster roll (which can be served cold with aioli or warm with butter). He got the lobster roll cold and said it was delicious. I had the fish tacos which were tasty. One thing I did not like is the strawberry mule was almost all ice. For $16, that just shouldn't be the case; but, not worth removing a star for. The photo is when I first received the drink.
