Blue 36 is one of my local cafes so it's the next one on my list to try. Blue 36 is situated ideally across the road from the blue st entrance of the North Sydney train station. This is handy as you can get one when you arrive or leave in North sydney if they're decent. The place is really nicely decorated inside and well laid out with plenty of seats. Water is self service refill of cups which is a little annoying as I prefer to have a jug rather than get up each time I finish my cup. There doesn't appear to be any seats outside. I ordered a large latte as I like to test cafes to see how long their foam last with the coffee that has the most of it. This is what I call the latte foam and art degradation test. As per my picture, it only lasted above the Midway line which is normally a failure in my books. The foam for a latte should survive until 2/3 minimum to pass. Coffees where the foam disappears early makes for a more unpleasant experience. Even the latte was a little messy and sloppily done, not really resembling anything. The second time had better initial impression though the foam still did reach beyond the halfway line. Overall I gave it a 3 instead of a 2 because I know they can do better and they should. The foam and latte issue can be easily resolved doing a YouTube tutorial on how to ensure that foam/art does not dissipate quickly. Another suggestion is to bring a jug of water at the same time as the coffee. Once these are done, 5/5 will be given! Second time coffee was still not up to scratch so I'll be leaving it at 3/5 for the foreseeable future as I probably won't be back for a long time.

One of the best Cafés in Sydney for seafood chowder! Their alkalizing bowl is very good and filling too. Usually go on Saturdays and is always easy to get a table. Service and staff are great as well.

Walked past this lovely cafe and thought I would give it a try. Great location. Spacious interior. Looks a bit dark from outside. Coffee’s one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m a very picky person. Staff are warm welcoming & friendly. Food was delicious! Reminds me of the cafe in Busan. Lots of chef kisses. Perfect for a lunch date or take away.

Decent breakfast- we tried the soft pumpkin and the chorizo scramble. Both were well executed. The service was very quick and friendly. The cafe is opposite north Sydney station so convenient for that and the back opens into the shopping centre.

Popped into this nice cafe for breakfast 🍳 before heading back to Newcastle. The coffee ☕️ was so nice and then our food arrived and we were so excited to have such a yummy 😋 breakfast just what we needed. I would definitely recommend this place for a delicious breakfast and I certainly don’t mine paying for good fresh food. To all the staff at this cafe 🍽️ keep up the good work and service you got it right for sure.

I was in the area on Saturday morning and wanted to have a breakfast. There are not many places opened on weekends so I found this one and was surprised: the food was good, the coffee was strong as I like it and the service is very friendly. The prices are very fair as well.

My favourite lil cafe in North Syd, staff is always so friendly and welcoming, good food and coffee. And prices are great. Definitely my local go-to cafe :)

We travel to North Sydney every year with our young children. It is hard going out for breakfast with 3 young children. The staff at Blue 36 are so lovely, warm, attentive and accomodating. We continue to return every year to what has become our exclusive cafe. The food is amazing and the staff making for an enjoyable outing. Highly recommended!

Really good cafe near the North Sydney train station. They cater for all dietary requirements and the food portions are very generous. If you feel like doing brekkie, I would definitely give this place a go.

Excellent breakfast menu. Very fast service for both coffee and food. Reasonably priced. Comfortable surrounds. We had the pancakes and 4 choice omelette. Would eat, sleep, feed, repeat if I lived here.

One thing I love about the coffee shop I frequent is their consistently great coffee. The taste, aroma, and quality are always top-notch. However, I have noticed that their takeaway service can be quite slow, which can be frustrating when I'm in a hurry. On some days, it seems like the orders are filled at the convenience of the person making the coffee, rather than prioritizing the customer's time. This inconsistency in service speed can be a downside for people who rely on a quick morning caffeine fix before heading to work or other commitments. I understand that preparing a good cup of coffee takes time and effort, but it would be beneficial to have a more streamlined process for takeaway orders. Perhaps implementing a system that allows for faster service without compromising the quality of the coffee would be a great improvement. Overall, the coffee at this shop is fantastic, but the inconsistent speed of their takeaway service leaves room for improvement. I hope they can find a way to address this issue so that customers can enjoy their delicious coffee without sacrificing their precious time.

Got totally ignored. Not that I was invincible in my bright orange dress but the waitress ignored and greeted two other people, took their orders and left with me waving and trying to get her eye contact and guess what they have lost one customer. Get your people trained properly. Cafes go out of business and wonder why!!! Could have given service negative if there was an option. Previous occasion the same lady came and tried taking my plate when I still had food. Get real cafe owner!!! You ain’t getting my hard earned money!!!!!

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning and it was very delightful. The staff were very personable and attentive, the coffee was excellent, and the food was delicious. We live in the Gold Coast, but if we lived in North Sydney, we wouldn't hesitate to go back. Full compliments to the staff and owners for running an excellent cafe.

I had a wonderful experience at Blue36 cafe I visited today. The food, service, and prices were all exceptional, making it the best cafe in the area, in my opinion. The incredibly friendly Korean staff members left a lasting impression.

Vegetarians are spoilt by the menu. I had the biggest breakfast dish they did and wow, one of the best I’ve come across. Such a pity I’m only visiting on holidays or Blue 36 could become a habit for me 😆

Delicious food, there's one female server however that is a bit dry/rude that brings the experience down but everyone else is lovely.

I purchased Eggs Benedict with salmon and a vanilla latte and was not disappointed in the quality of either. A very lovely cafe with nice decorum and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend as it’s just over the road from the train station and walking distance from most of the local hotels.

Best Hot Chocolate I’ve ever had… lovely staff and beautiful, cosy cafe! Hope you get the business you need to stay afloat during Covid, will definitely be back for brunch!
